just watched the tearsmith and I didn’t enjoy the movie much, but as soon as I saw Rigel all I could think was that he’s so “ancient and most noble house of Black coded” LMAO

He has pale skin and curly dark hair

He’s named after a star (a star in the Orion constellation to boot)

He didn’t have the best childhood and was raised by an abusive parental figure

could totally be used as an OC relative or a fancast (though I personally love the fancast the fandom already has)

As a HOTD watcher who has not read the book, but has read spoilers about B&C, I’m not surprised to see it coming.

is it a horrible event? yes most definitely

I’ve seen the main argument being that Daemon should’ve gone after Aemond since he’s the one responsible for killing Lucerys.

I agree, wish Aemond would get what he deserves sooner rather than later, but I also understand where the idea of B&C comes from.

Just like Lucerys was a messenger for Queen Rhaenyra, Aemond was a messenger for King Aegon II.

Anything they did would be done in the name of their Queen/King.

Aemond killing Lucerys and then getting home just for Aegon to celebrate his death with a feast doesn’t help either.

(From what I’ve read/ heard happens in the books idk how it’s gonna play out in the show)

Adds to the idea of Aemond went to storms end in the name of Aegon, so Aemond is the “sword” but Aegon is the one who wields it.

So makes sense where the one that should pay is Aegon, the Queen lost a son technically in the name of the King, so gotta return the favor, “a son for a son”.

even though B&C is a horrible event and the children are not to blame for the mistakes of adults, I’m not surprised to see it coming.

This show isn’t black and white our main characters are all shades of grey/black. And when one goes low, the other will go lower.

It also makes sense imo in the name of revenge, death to Aemond or Aegon themselves would be too simple or the easy way out, let them feel the hurt and pain rhaenyra is feeling from losing her child. Let the revenge be felt and not just a quick death, gotta hit them where it hurts yk.

The remains of the dragon fell first, the injured boy followed.

There was water so much of it. Filling the lungs of the boy. There was blood surrounding him. Blood from his dragon, his cradle mate, Arrax. His own blood was mixed with it too from the injuries left behind by the teeth of the she-dragon who tried to eat him.

There was blood, blood of the deceased dragon, blood of the wingless dragon.

There was water so much water.

There were scales from the remains of the young dragon.

And there was a need to survive.

A chant, a prayer to whoever is listening.

A will to survive for his sweet Arrax who gave his life trying to protect him, for his mother who is waiting for him, for his brothers, his sisters, for his grandfather, for himself.

There was fear

There was sorrow

There was fury

There was water, so much water in his lungs.

Then there was excruciating pain as if every bone was breaking and rearranging in his body. He let a silent scream escape and with it the little bit of oxygen that was keeping him from drowning. Then there was black.

“Lucerys”

“Wake up”

With a jolt the boy woke up. He was breathing. There was air in his lungs. There was sand under him. There was the sound of water. He looked around. He was on land, the waves seemed to have carried him out. There were no remains of Arrax, but there was a trail of his pearlescent scales leading up to where he was.

The boy looked at himself. His clothes were barely holding themselves together, it seemed as if Vhagar had chewed him up and spit him out instead of just scrapping his leg with her tooth.

Looking at his leg there was no pain, no blood, but when he turned it onto his side where an injury should be, there was no injury.

But there was no skin either.

There were scales, pretty scales that reminded him of what the water stole, what his uncle stole from him.

The scales continued up to his side stopping at his waist. As he looked over himself that seemed to be the only thing wrong with his body. Where there should be a slash from teeth there were scales instead.

Dragon scales, Arrax’s scales.

Lucerys survives the fall because of a blessing (or is it a curse?) that turns him into a sea dragon (like a siren/mermaid but with a dragon twist)
