What are your favourite ships for her & why? What are your favourite platonic relationships for her & why?

Marauders Era - Before School

What do you think her childhood was like? How do imagine her parents? Snape’s memory of her as a child, suggests she knew about her magic from a young age and was practicing controlling it effectively without a wand?Compared to other characters do you think this implies she was very magically talented? Why? Why not? 

She also talked to Snape about his home life, as an under eleven, what does this suggest about her character? 

Marauders Era/First War - School

What do you imagine her friendship with Snape was like in their early years at Hogwarts? How do you think Lily felt about him being sorted into Slytherin? What do you think she thought about her own sorting into Gryffindor?

Having been horrified by his of father is somewhat mollified by his glimpse of his mother in OoTP? His mother had been decent. How do you feel about what we see of her?

Slughorn provides us with more information about Lily; One of the brightest I ever taught. Vivacious, you know. Charming girl. I used to tell her she ought to have been in my House. Very cheeky answers I used to get back too.This makes her sound much more like Fred and George than Percy. How do you think she was as a pupil, prefect and Head Girl? What do you imagine her priorities were at school? 

In Snape’s memories the only mention of another girl around Lily’s age is Mary MacDonald. Do you imagine Lily was friends with her? Who else do you imagine she was friends with? 

Marauders Era/First War - Jily

It is clear from OoTP that James fancied Lily and she was not impressed by him when they were in fifth year. Remus and Sirius reassure Harry that James matured and she changed her opinion of him in seventh year. How do you imagine that happened?

Do you imagine James told her about being an animagus? Do you think he told her about the Marauders Map?

What do you think James and Lily’s relationship was like? Sirius describes him as hiding his dislike of Snape better once they got together, does that imply a lack of honesty between them? 

Marauders Era/First War - After School

How did she get into the order? When? What do you head canon she did for them? 

According to extra-canon sources, Voldemort tried to recruit Lily and James? How do you imagine Lily responded? 

What was the first war like for her before the prophecy? Was she scared, proud, regretful, or dutiful about having joined the order? 

Some interpretations see James and Lily as important ideologically and symbolically for the order (the pureblood and the muggleborn in love and harmony). Do you think that’s true? How do you imagine that pressure impacted on their relationship?

James appears to put her on a pedestal, how do you imagine that impacted their relationship?

Black Brothers Fest: 2024 Schedule & Links

We're back for another year!

Hello and welcome to the Black Brothers Fest, a Harry Potter fest focused on Regulus & Sirius Black. The minimum requirements are either a 1,000 word fic or a piece of clean lineart on unlined paper.

You must be 18+ to participate.

The planned schedule is as follows:

Tagset Nominations Open: 8 June

Prompting Opens: 15 June

Claiming Opens: 1 July

Nominations, Prompting, and Claiming Closes: 31 July, Midnight EDT

Works Due: 31 August, 11:59 PM EDT

Works Revealed: starting 1 September

Creators Revealed: one week after all works go live.

Posting may be staggered or all at once, depending on the number of works received. If it is staggered, authors will receive communication in advance for their posting date.

We're super excited to announce The Tortured Poets Fest, a Harry Potter themed fest centered around Taylor Swift's newest album! ✨

Calling all writers, artists, and video editors! Below are important dates, rules, and information you'll need to know if you'd like to join in with us. This fest is focused on The Tortured Poets Department — Taylor Swift's newest full-length album released on April 19, 2024.

This fest is open to ALL Harry Potter generations including Marauders, Golden Era, and Next Gen. All pairings are welcome!

We've also created a little community of participants on Discord to help with round tabling and creativity. We'd love if you joined us! This is an 18+ only fest.

You must complete the Google Form for your sign-up as well as claim your choice of prompt on the AO3 collection.

You may only claim one prompt at a time. If you finish your prompt, you may claim an additional prompt, but you must submit your first prompt as per submission guidelines.

One song prompt can be claimed by multiple people (it's not first come, first serve). You can use a song in any way you like for inspiration — title, lyrics, vibes… You do not need to title your work after the song or use lyrics in any way if you don’t want to.

Collaborations are welcome! Collabs can be illustrated fics, multi-writer fics, multi-artist artworks, etc.

✨ Creating

All ships from all generations are welcome (Marauders, Golden Era, and Next Gen). This is not a ship-specific or generation-specific fest.

There is a minimum word count of 1,000 words for all submitted fics. For podfics, the recorded story should be a minimum of 1,000 words. There is no maximum for either fics or podfics.

Multi-chapter fics are allowed, but you must finish the first chapter of the fic by the submission deadline.

All works must be tagged appropriately! In light of the mental health topics alive and real in this album, please consider yourself, your fellow participants, and your readers when discussing any themes on mental health in your works.

Characters/dynamics wanted for a modern AU Marauders group RP set on a cruise ship

Further to the previous post about our upcoming Cruise AU (I'm leaving out links for now in hopes this shows in the tags) we are particularly interested in a few characters;

A male character for a romantic relationship with Benjy

Peter - let us have all the marauders

Pandora and/or Dorcas

A Prewett or two! (Maybe Fab or Gid/Benjy?)

Bella and/or Andy - A secret Black family background has been built by those of us writing Sirius, Regulus, and Narcissa. It would be great to have more cousins involved.

Evan - We'd love to have him around as a Rosier relative for Cissa and for fun with Regulus and Barty especially. A bartylus relationship is planned, but the RPers have an idea to turn it into rosestarkiller if that appeals to you (more details on this below the cut.)

Barty and Regulus are exes, with Regulus having left to train as a pastry chef in France. We think there's an opportunity to have a French or French speaking (potentially Swiss) Evan having met Regulus in France (maybe through Cissa) and to have the group RP open with Regulus and Evan already close (to be discussed) and discovering that Regulus' ex is already working on the ship. Exes to lovers, rivals to lovers, and whatever dynamic is preferred for Evan/Regulus. (Expect fun conflict, no need to actually speak French, both Barty and Regulus writers have been in multiple RPs on the server, are active, and used to writing with each other and poly ships etc)
