how to use cauldrons

cast iron cauldrons are multifunctional tools that can be used in a wide variety of ways. this includes:

mixing ingredients for spellcasting

melting and mixing ingredients for candles

burning incense, essential oils, herbs, etc.

collecting water or ashes

creating charged water like sun or moon water

scrying with water

cooking or drink-mixing with intention

making alternative or natural remedies

cauldrons can be used in almost any way you can think of, whether for rituals, festivals, personal use, or more. they can even be used as just decor!

note: cast iron can rust or start to lose its beautiful look if not taken care of properly. some sources suggest seasoning cast iron with oil and baking to infuse it, but we suggest you do research to care for your cauldron the way that best suits you and your uses

As we welcome the first signs of spring, it’s time to refresh our magical toolkits with some new herbs, crystals, and other tools to help us connect with the energy of this magical month. Here are some correspondences for March:

Holi: a Hindu festival of colours that usually falls in March. It celebrates the triumph of good over evil and the arrival of spring. You can participate in this festival by throwing colourful powder, dancing, and feasting with loved ones.

you don't have to collect all of the latest and greatest crystals and minerals for your craft, you can use what you'd like or have available. you can even place your own meanings on your rocks and adapt practices for your lifestyle

there is no singular right way to use crystals :]

You can use rocks you find outside in your craft. For example, as a replacement for crystals. You can determine your correspondences for each rock based off of its color, how it was formed, where you found it, etc. There are also many crystals you’ll find in rocks around your house, especially QUARTZ, if you want some of that.

remember to take care of yourself physically and spiritually

it is not selfish to show yourself love first. you are the most important being in your life because you are the one being that you will take care of for all of your life until the end, so it is important to keep your mind, body, and spirit at ease

find what works best for you, whether it be any of these self-care ideas, or maybe something else, like taking time in nature to connect to the earth, or maybe making yourself a meal with intentions

whatever way fits into your schedule and lifestyle, self-care physically and spiritually is important

spiritual hygiene reminder-

this one’s for me too:

relax your shoulders. breathe in slowly. breathe out slowly. cleanse your space. open a window. sit with some selenite. meditate with some blue lace agate. light some incense. take a bath. take a spiritual bath. your deities are still there. sit with them. talk to them. it’s okay to take a break from your practice. it’s okay if you don’t have the energy right now. eat something. cover your head. burn a bay leaf. pull a card or do any divination of your choice. it’s okay to rest. you deserve rest. hold space for yourself if no one else will.

Types of divination

Divination refers to the practice of seeking knowledge or insight about the future or hidden information through supernatural or mystical means. There are numerous types of divination found across cultures and traditions.

Here are some of the commonly known ones:

Astrology: Astrology involves interpreting the positions and movements of celestial bodies to gain insight into human affairs and predict future events.

Tarot Reading: Tarot cards are used to gain insight into the past, present, and future events or to explore various aspects of a person's life.

Palmistry: Palmistry, also known as chiromancy, involves analyzing the lines, shapes, and markings on a person's hand to make predictions about their life, personality, and future.

Numerology: Numerology is based on the belief that numbers hold symbolic meanings and can be used to gain insight into a person's character, talents, and future events.

Runes: Runes are ancient Germanic alphabet symbols that are used for divination. They are typically engraved on small stones or wooden tiles, and the reader interprets their meanings based on their arrangement.

Scrying: Scrying involves gazing into a reflective surface, such as a crystal ball, a mirror, or water, to receive visions or insights about the past, present, or future.

Tea Leaf Reading: Also known as tasseography, this method involves interpreting patterns and symbols formed by tea leaves in a cup to gain insights or make predictions.

Pendulum Dowsing: Pendulum dowsing uses a weighted object, often a crystal or metal pendant, suspended from a string or chain. The movement of the pendulum is interpreted to answer yes or no questions or to provide guidance.

Ouija Board: Ouija boards are flat boards marked with letters, numbers, and symbols. Participants place their hands on a small planchette and ask questions, believing that spirits will guide the movement of the planchette to spell out answers.

crystal shapes: obelisks/points

we have a lot of large crystal obelisks coming to our shop soon, so today we'd like to explain what obelisks can be used for!

obelisks, also called points, are vertical stone columns that end in a pyramid-like point. they make great decorations and altar pieces, but they can also be very healing

smaller obelisks can be used to direct energy to a specific part of the body, room, or anywhere you want

larger obelisks can be used to collect built up energy in a space, change it depending on the crystal it is made out of (ex. rose quartz > loving energy, citrine > successful energy), and disperses it back into the space

remember, when you get an obelisk, just like any other crystal, make sure to cleanse it, set your intention, and place it in a space that will best benefit from this transformed energy

crystalized characters: link [loz]

last friday, legend of zelda: tears of the kingdom finally released after being announced for 4 years and delayed since 2022 and i haven't been able to get it out of my head since! i truly adore the loz series and this new addition to the story, so today i'm going to go off script to give you my personal observations on a few crystals that i believe encapsulate this series' main character: link

lodolite (garden quartz) for reincarnation and wisdom

one thing that defines the loz series is reincarnation, as the main characters go through many portrayals and incarnations throughout the stories. in all of his lives, link is always destined to fight evil, so he is connected to all his incarnations, and i think lodolite (or garden quartz) represents this

green sardonyx for courage and adventure

as the holder of the triforce of courage that possesses the spirit of the hero, link is portrayed as a brave soldier and fighter. he fights for those that cannot fight for themself, takes risks, adventures through dangerous lands, and battles strong enemies and i think green sardonyx represents this

peridot for compassion and loyalty

being a hero, link is known for his helpfulness and loyalty. he is ready to defend and help others, just from the compassion and nobility in his heart. he'll even travel to the edge of the land through all kinds of danger for them, and i think peridot represents this

chrysocolla for empowerment and self-expression

link can be a hard character to read. he is usually mute, so people tend to think he is a bit of a blank slate, although he is very expressive, he just expresses himself in a unique way and i think chrysocolla represents this

fairy stones for protection and luck

with all his adventures, link is constantly in danger, but he holds his ground and protects himself. whether with a shield, a dodge, or even fairies for extra lives, he finds ways to stay safe from the danger, and i think fairy stones represent this

this is one of the most fun posts i've been able to make, so i hope you liked it, or maybe learned something. i am not a pro when it comes to this franchise or crystals, so i learned a bit while making this myself. maybe i'll make this a series, so if there are any character requests, let me know! for now, have a great day ♡

although we do have some sage sticks in our shop, so many plants can be used for smoke cleansing, even things you may already have in your pantry, such as bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, and mint

in different cultures, different regional plants are used for this, so if you want to try something more sustainable, you can also try looking into using native or invasive plants for your own practices, although be careful when foraging to use eco-friendly foraging practice and be careful when smoke cleansing to use plants that you know are safe to burn

i may make another post about this at some point because different plants have different uses and properties, but remember to always do your own research and think outside of the box, especially for sustainability!

Capitalism really has people asking "where can I buy sage for cleansing?" instead of "what else can I use for cleansing that is easier to find?"
