Helloooo!!!

I made this cute flower design for my ikea mug the other day and it took me about two hours to get right. It’s a little frustrating at first but once you get the hang of it, using the Cricut is an absolute blast.

Also, something told me to go in TK Max yesterday which is where I found this adorable jumper! Unless you are also into purple, you literally don’t get how hard it is to find cute purple clothes. I found another jumper which is cropped, as well as a hoodie in a similar style! I was gleaming all the way home!

My sleep schedule is poop.

At the end of every term, my sleep flips right around. It happens to almost everyone but it genuinely messes with me. It’s so strange waking up and it being pitch black outside as you’ve woken up at 4pm. Carrying out your day to day things while it’s night out. It is weird but it makes me feel really depressed.

And yet, I can’t fix it. I have tried going to bed at 9-12 pm and end up laying there staring at the ceiling until 5am.

I know there is one way of fixing it, which is to do an all nighter. Works every time but I have been like this for the past week and I go home tomorrow, so there is no point me doing it. I’ll stay up tonight until I get picked up at 9am tomorrow.

Another weird thing I can’t get my head around is how I as soon as I’m back home, my schedule goes right back to normal with no issues. It’s helpful considering I have to go back to work 6-2pm.

Hi everyone. It has been a while. A lot has happened.

Getting straight to the point my precious baby, rini, passed away on the 6th of November. My last post was about her and what happened; I thought I had acted soon enough, but was terribly wrong. Since then, I have been battling grief and my coursework, so I haven’t been active here at all. I have had time to figure things out and work on my mental health, and here I am, caught up on work and doing the best I can.

I love this app and I intend to be active again. I hope we can become good friends, whoever you are, currently reading my post. Here is to the future 🥂

Rini Hides - 06.11.24

Hello all. I’m back. Not with great news however…

This is Rini. She is my baby. Everything to me. I’d be nothing without her in my life.

Due to me going to university and not being allowed her in my accommodation, I have to leave her in the care of my sister, who is 15. My sister loves Rini as much as I do and so I trusted her to take care of my precious pet. I ensure she is paid for her work with her as I know bunnies are high maintenance.

3 days before I was due to return home, I received a call from my sister where she informed me something was wrong with Rini. She showed me photos of her, and immediately, I was mortified.

The images I saw could only be compared to what you would see on a PETA website.

I rushed home and examined her in person. Did everything I could to get her into a vet as soon as possible. She was skin and bones. Weak. Bald around the genitalia and her tail exposed. Fur on her rear matted and stained yellow. If the images were not so graphic I’d show you. Only a picture could get you to understand the condition she was in.

I can’t believe my sister allowed this to happen. To my child. I was away and comfortable she was safe and content. My sister has looked after her for a year already and never has this ever happened. I have no idea what was going through her mind since I left in September.

I have to return to university on Sunday and I can’t stand the thought of leaving her in my sister’s care again. I have nobody else I can trust her with, and my dad keeps bringing up the idea of rehoming her. Never in a million years would I ever consider getting rid of my bunny. I would rather smuggle her into my Accomodation and get a fine.

It has been 3 days since I first saw to Rini and her condition has improved massively. Eating and starting to drink too. I almost lost her this weekend. I feel like I should be thanking someone or something for her life, but it has all been down to my bunnies strength and myself. (Vets haven’t been able to get her in).

So much has been going on that I forgot to post… so hi again!~

Your girl got this new mouse pad that I had to wait 3 weeks for Amazon to deliver, which I think is shocking. I also thought the flowers were going to look a bit cleaner… I knew it was off-white but didn’t expect it to look like I’d spilt coffee all over it. Maybe off-white just doesn’t go with purple? In person, it looks cream.

My boyfriend gave me my birthday presents early because he is going away to basic training for the RAF. He won’t be back until Christmas and my birthday is the beginning of November. He bought me a humidifier with sandalwood oil which I love so much! It’s my favourite scent I think. He also got me a really cute purple flask/sippy cup that has a screw cap, but literally already lost the cap at his dad’s house the next day. It’s good it came with a spare, but I’m still mad about it.

My boyfriend took me to Peace Hall yesterday in Halifax.

I thought this place was so beautiful! Both floors have small shops going all the way around, and I found something for my brother and the boyfriend’s mum for Christmas. (Starting early. Makes it less stressful…)

Before we went to Halifax, we went to the coffee shop up the road from my accommodation. It is literally the best place everrr! Imagine Starbucks quality but costa prices…

Also meet our son, Pete. He live’s on Callum’s dash. He is always trying to slide out the window when the windows are down. Definitely need to get him stuck down before we lose him on the highway!

And no I did not crochet him myself. Still need to learn how to make an octopus. 🐙

Good afternoon honeys… just a little peek into my knitting set up in the workshop.

My work has not been going as planned as the techniques I am trying to do keep failing on me and it is incredibly frustrating, but I don’t want to give up on it since I am determined to be a specialist in this area of textiles soon enough. I spent so long on a single piece, my watch was telling me to take a break! I’d just had my lunch so I pressed on.

It’s annoying when you spend so many hours on something and barely have anything to show for it, but I am working hard regardless.

I’m listening to a Lofi Girl playlist on Spotify which is really keeping my nerves together bwahaha.

I also feel super weird today as I am wearing one of those really long smock skirts (never worn one before) and I don’t know if people are judging me or not. I think it looks cute.

Hi guys, I hope you have had a good week so far! It’s been pretty chilled out for me, although I have caught a pretty bad flu. Might just be the freshers flu ~

My project is just starting up for the new year and I am in the research phase. Looking at things that inspire and interest me and this year I am looking more at architextiles (architecture/textiles).

Today, my boyfriend was helping me model some clay thumbnails with different textures, inspired by the artist Nick Hernandez. I love Hernandez’s use of texture and repetition, which I think will inspire some patterns within my fabric construction.

Once they are dry, I’m going to spray paint them with neon purple, silver and gold. This will link further to my other ideas and inspirations.

I’m so excited to see where my project will go and I will absolutely post update and where it goes.

The weather is always the worst on the day you have the most to do!

Mondays, I am in university from 9-4… and have to go out to get my dinner in between.

Walking to university this morning I was holding my Stanley and a coffee, a sketchbook, and an umbrella (and my bag of course). I took the umbrella to keep my sketchbook dry but ultimately dropped it in a puddle as I was struggling with my things… I just had to keep telling myself I was going to have a good day rather than just throwing myself into the puddle with it.

Why don’t I have a portfolio? Haven’t bought it yet. Being a bit tight with money right now because I have been throwing parties for flatmates who had their bd over summer and ones who’s are in October. Got a party on Wednesday for my friend Matt. And of course there is Christmas to be worrying about now. I know it’s early but I have a lot of people to buy for.

How has your Monday been? I hope it has been treating you better than it has been treating me.

Me and my friend took this waiting for our train home from our leeds trip. We had such a good time!

Using an instax camera is quite expensive because you have to replace the paper, and people ask why I bother and not just take pictures on my phone. I just tell them, well ye it is expensive, but it’s something about a Polaroid photo that adds to the feel of the moment. Adds a sort of intimacy? I of course take photos on my phone too but I feel so aesthetic carrying one of these cameras around.
