2020 studyblr quarantine challenge
friday, week 1: what is your favorite subject/topic to study at the moment?
us history. i keep getting caught up in the historical world that the textbook paints. history is incredibly fascinating and i love it, especially bc it can encompass so many topics. history of science. fashion history. music history. there’s just so much to explore and analyze how human knowledge has evolved :^D

instead of like El. Gee. Bee. Tee. Kyu. we should pronounce it as lugubutuquah like really fast to shorten that long-ass acronym. bc if we keep calling it “gay” as like the umbrella term, the straights get confused and at some point so will we, and “queer” is a slur, it’s offensive to some people so
y’know
LUGUBUTUQUAH

“Tuning Out...” by Bastille sounds like those photos that should have a person in it, but the face is cropped out so it’s only like, a hairline or an arm.
It’s a half-empty, uncertain feeling. A nostalgia, a longing for something that never was. Something incomplete, unsettling, breathtaking. A horror movie with the flickering lights but nothing has attacked our protagonists, not yet. The words are altered, there is a vague sense that something is not right.

My introduction to ASMR came from an acquaintance who was like “try this, it’ll make you feel weird things on the back of your neck” and I was like ok sure. But I guess I’m one of those people who don’t feel anything with ASMR because all through this, like, hour-long whispery video that he’d sent, I was just lying in bed like “what”

Friendly debates
Isn’t it sad that nobody ever has them? Friendly debates? I’d love to have one with a friend but society, I guess, has taught us all to be bitchy hoes whenever someone has a different opinion than ourselves and I think that’s really sad. Someday, I’d love to hear someone’s explanation as to why they abhor homosexuality, just really calmly and maturely. And I’d love to explain to them why I don’t. Like, I genuinely would like to know why people don’t like gays. I’d like to see if people can actually change minds by not screaming or using ALL CAPS to get my point across. I find that people are less stubborn and more likely to see that they’re incorrect if you don’t tell them in a hostile manner that makes them seem ignorant. Just, can we have friendly debates? Without hate? Respecting the fact that the other person has a point of view? Even if it’s wrong? Maybe even realizing that your own point of view is wrong? Can we be mature? Please?
