I feel like the people that call Superman boring are underestimating how interesting it is for an extremely powerful character to make the active and continued choice to be good and to help, despite the fact that it is by no means the easiest path for him, and, in fact, often makes his own life far worse or more complicated.

Like, so much Superman conflict revolves around people in the public just patently refusing to believe that someone with power could ever do good with no ulterior motive, but even when the public turns on him, he still resolves to do the best he can to just make things better.

A character that just truly believes humanity is good and worth saving, and does so just because he has the ability to, is so deeply interesting to me.

I'm sure this has been put out there before, but I like to think of a situation wherein by virtue of being close to Batman as Superman, mild mannered reporter Clark Kent just becomes an inexplicable friend of Bruce Wayne, deeply confusing every person in his life. And not even in a big way that it's publisized in the news or anything, but like

I made a post a few days ago about Clark Kent inexplicably being friends with the Waynes (because he knows Batman as Superman, but the people who just know mild mannered reporter Clark Kent don't know that). And the thought of Lois Lane, pre-knowing that Clark is Superman, just being extremely baffled by her writing partner from the middle of nowhere Kansas being friends with the Wayne family continues to amuse me. So the alternative situation from the one I posted the other that's been bouncing around in my head is
