-Spoilers for Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Ahead.-
Bro I literally teared up. I am honestly only playing for the character that is Frank Woods. I grew up with Alex Mason and his story and recently I've gotten back into it as an adult. I love the arc we have sort've been on with Alex and Frank. They are so special to me and I could go on forever about them- but enough about me-
So Far there are two moments that I've just loved and been incredibly sad at. The shorter one, that you will probably barely notice, is when we are back at the mansion-manor?, home? house?-
We, as Case, are next to my new favorite person maybe ever Felix. The rest are near a fire they have and before Adler radios in with bad news, you hear the end of a funny memory Frank is sharing with the team.
So far, I have felt that even though we have the same Frank Woods, he is a very obviously subdued version of him. It's felt like... I don't know. Do you know when you're pretending you are normal and cracking jokes but you're so exhausted and you'd rather not say anything but you don't want anyone to ask you anything. I do think he's like making an effort but this whole situation starts off with Adler who we later learn is the one being blamed for Frank's "Condition" and the deaths of Alex Mason and Jason Hudson. I wouldn't want to be reminded of that dang mission ever in my life but suddenly Adler is back into the mix and suddenly it's all about Panama and Mason and who Frank once was- and I think it's a lot for him. He's older. He can't fight. He can't move as he once did. Now, he has people he is mentoring. He's staying back while they go. He had built a wall around these people because this isn't forever and he didn't owe them a sob story. Anyway- so yeah it's a big deal that he's sharing a story with them because it's a story about Alex. It's not confirmed but all we hear is something in the realm of (I'm paraphrasing)
"Yeah, we are in D.C. now- Not Alaska." Which prompts a laugh from the people there.
Now. Let's put on our thinking caps on and try to remember who in the game is canonically Alaskan.
ALEX MASON. HE'S TELLING THEM ABOUT ALEX AND A FUNNY STORY ABOUT HIM. BECAUSE FRANK KNEW HIM. FRANK KNEW HIM AND KNEW ALL SIDES OF HIM and Alex wasn't just some coworker that survived getting brainwashed and was basically the best soldier there ever was.
Alex was his best friend. They mention it multiple times in the story.
Frank lost his Best Friend. Most of all, he feels it was his fault because he pulled the trigger.
He let his walls down and he's letting these people in to know someone so important to him.
The next moment is when we go up to talk to him and ask how he's doing. I think there is a visible change in him. He feels lighter.
He talks about enjoying the "thing they have going on." They don't take orders from anyone and they're kind of their own paramilitary group in a way. No hidden agendas just stopping the bad guys. and Case responds with, "You don't have to go back to Langley."
And why would he want to go back there let's be honest.
And THEN HE RESPONDS WITH "I haven't told anyone this but with Mason gone, I wanna look after his boy... Bring him up."
And what had me in this scene isn't that he is going to raise David, We know he ends up doing that.
BUT how much Frank has come to terms with letting go.
Frank obviously to some degree enjoyed his job. I don't know how long he did it for but, he is still involved back at the C.I.A so we can see that he didn't want to be left out completely.
And he gets a taste of that back.
He has found something that works for him and allows him to continue on this path. But. BUT.
"With Mason gone, I wanna look after his boy."
He's going to leave it behind for David and Alex.
He's not going to leave David alone. ALEX WENT BACK TO THAT LIFE despite having PROMISED his son that he was done. because of frank. Frank needed him and Alex saved him.
A lot of fans point at Frank and Alex and say Gay lovers.
and like yeah what about it.
But also I think what the writers are going for is the most devasting option is that these guys are Best Friends and that's so much worse.
Idk if any of ya'll ever had a best friend, but there are moments when you question if God made them just for you.
Because the closeness you feel in your soul and the Love that is the same Love and Loyalty you reserve only for Family outpours to them as well. And they aren't family but they're someone who knows the most inner parts of you. A best friend is someone who loves you back just the same.
I honestly believe that there was nothing Frank could've ever done that would've turned Alex away from him. Frank was blinded by revenge and accidentally killed an innocent girl, but Alex remained by his side.
It just killed me because Frank could've kept going, Idk if he retires after COD 6 something tells me he does, but he doesn't.
David needs him. He needs to keep Alex's memory alive and I personally headcannon that Frank mentions Alex all the time. Like it's rare if you don't hear about Frank's best friend Alex in a whole week because that was Frank's best friend and he was a Badass.
Anyways there might've been more for me to say but it's late .
(Excuse typos and anytime I type in caps it's because I'm yelling.)

Now that a certain actor reposted an edit of this I have to bring this back
one thing I love about the scene when ghost and soap reunite with rodolfo is when they’re explaining themselves.
“Ghost waited for me.” To explain why they took so long.
“Of course, no?” Rodolfo asks. Of course, because he would do that for Alejandro. It makes sense to do it for your brother in arms. It makes sense for Ghost to wait for soap because Of course. There is no other course of action. You stay and you make sure you both survive. Like when Alejandro went back for Rodolfo in that fire.
“No.” in a way to say, no we aren’t like that. Soap doesn’t want to force that on Ghost.
“Yes.” Ghost responds because for him, now, it is like that.
He is responsible and he’d be damned if he doesn’t fix it.
(Phillip could’ve been apart of that. He was and then he went and MESSED it up.)

Feelings on Frank Woods.
So I'm playing the COD games starting off with the Black Ops series. Is that right-probably not but hey I literally grew up on those games and wanted to revisit that series in paticular. (my brothers weren't into modern warfare ig-) (I'm just completed Black ops 2)
I honesly did not expect to like Frank Woods as much as I do.
-She was always an alex mason girlie growing up- But Idk that one part in black ops I think when the young marine died and Frank cried.
I was like ...oh.... this man has... feelings and dimension.... I just thought he was bat shit crazy.
And Alex Mason has all of his story but I did not expect Frank to become such a big part of the story and I love that for us.

I’m playing the game and I legit laughed out loud because why was he saying that to HIS SON?????????? THEN HE PROCEEDED TO LEAVE HIM 😭😭
okay, but can we talk about one of the funniest moments of black ops 2?
“You’re seven years old, David, stop acting like a baby!”
And he’s… in a tree……. several feet off the ground……

One of my personal favorite headcannons about Rudy is that he absolutely shreds on the guitar. He started off in a Mariachi band that only played locally and only got famous in-state but they disbanded when the lead singer ran off with all the money they were saving up.
(you know the beginning of Ella Baila Sola . Light work for him.)
He still plays. When he gets drunk, you'll find him strumming away with a low hum. When everyone has fallen asleep or stuck in a deep drunken haze of conversations at 3 in the morning, it's him keeping the vibe warm and comfortable. He has a great voice and he can do such a deep and rich Grito that his men always find him at parties so he can do it.
Guys, I believe that man has a great grito. Based on nothing really .
It's funny. I think he's a funny man and that he likes laughing. Alejandro makes him laugh. reliably. Soap is a surprising laugh. He likes soap too. He still hasn't learned how to approach Ghost in a funny matter. They don't click much but he's loyal. And rudy likes Loyal.
"Of course, no?"
He also drinks alot on weekends. Like a Mexican dad does.
He's a dad for sure because there's no way he doesn't have kids. Is he the best dad... He's not the worst.

Just remembered Leah from Twilight and my heart went oh.
the depth the story could’ve had if the author just explored more of the pack lore. just a little bit more, ya know.

Can I just say the way Valeria ended yelling at Alejandro that one scene…
Those were the yells of an age old argument. Pent up frustration and just genuine anger that he doesn’t understand her and he doesn’t even want to anymore.
I support WOMENS RIGHTS AND WRONGS

I recently watched Avatar the way of water and really it was a great movie and experience. I’m excited to see the future installments.
Generally I agree with all the praise it’s getting. I don’t have any theories on where it’s going I’m going to leave that in the hands of James Cameron.
One thing I hope we don’t get- is Neteyam somehow resurected or whatever the fans are hoping for. Like I loved his character and on some level I related to him as an older sibling. I also wish we saw more of him. He was a hero on some level for everything he did for his siblings. He was so strong.
He never complained. We heard Neytiri argue with Jake. She didn’t want to leave. Tuk wanted to go home with the rest of them. They loved the forest, it was their home. It was where they experienced and learned eywa. Like Neytiri said, everything they have every knew was there. It was unfair but it was nessecary that they leave.
He never really went against Jake and I think it’s because he saw how much of everything was on Jake as a father and a leader. Who looked after the kids while Jake and Neytiri were also learning the way of the new clan? Neteyam. He was there almost every step and tried his best to keep the peace and lead by example.
Now, the reason I don’t think it makes sense to resurrect him is because his story- while tragic- was ended. There was no point in him dying if they were just going to bring him back. There was no reason to make Neytiri experience losing her son. To experience that type of grief if it was all going to be for nothing anyway. It wasn’t to prove her love, like you could see how close she held each one of her children in her heart. even if we did see little of it.
I think mainly it was used to further Jake’s and Lo’ak’s story and development. I do see the both of them as more protagantist as well as Kiri. Tuk can also have a bigger role is later movies but it just doesn’t make sense to bring Neteyam back. Maybe they have a certain way they’d go about it. I’m not that familiar with the world and lore so I might be missing something.
His death was heart breaking. But death is set in stone. Mourning and Grief have their place in the world and to suddenly void death would make them useless and mean nothing.

I’d like to bring up Alejandro’s and Soap’s relationship if I may .
“You know Spanish?” “No.” “You will.”
These missions must’ve been days to weeks apart. Intel and planning take time. And throughout the games we see Soap speaking Spanish to Alejandro.
“Hermano, qué pasa?” “Revise mi bolsillo.” “Hasta la muerte.” (Alejandros favorite)
He really only refers to Alejandro as Hermano. Brother. In the game, he needs translation less and less. He picks up words and responds. I also think Soap is a go with the flow kind of guy. He returns the energy you give. And when Alejandro was just so open and ready to share his home and culture with Soap, it just like,,, made their connection so easy. Alejandro was so trusting and soap was supposed to what,, not reciprocate? They’re brothers now. Alejandro said so. Alejandro manda. lol. Also at the end when he says
“Keep fighting the good fight, Hermano.” (Pelea la buena batalla is what Alejandro taught him.)
This is not a head canon. This is canon.
Alejandro and Rodolfo both taught Soap Spanish. I think in the whole 141 task force he was the least versed in Spanish. He was eager to learn and practiced a lot. He’s not a shy man so he wasn’t afraid to mess up. Sure, he sounded silly but it would make Rodolfo laugh the loudest- surprisingly- so he didn’t mind.
“It usually annoys him when guero’s try to imitate us or poorly learn our language. He’s been mocked before.”
“I’m not doing too badly, am I?”
Alejandro just grinned.
“He likes your accent.”
Also,,, He calls Rodoldo “Rudy”. Rodolfo isn’t as picky as Soap with ppl calling him Johnny. But, everyone knows that you can’t just call him Rudy. It’s like a promise. Rudy is what his olders brothers and cousins called him. Rudy is reserved for family and people you wouldn’t hesitate for.
“Call me Rudy.” He said suddenly after drills one day. Ordering him in a way. You’ll be loyal.
“Okay.” Was all Soap responded. He understood and Alejandro just let out a laugh.
The same courtesy was offered to Ghost. But because he’s emotionally stunted, he’s not gonna. He appreciates it though.
I do think Ghost had like beginner level understanding of spanish
“No te pierdas, Carnal!” “A Huevo!”
