Still working my way through preliminary content for the website launch. Work and personal life have been chaotic for the last two weeks, but winter break is coming up soon. I won’t have to work at my other job during the holidays, which is when I plan to start drilling content for release. ⚡️🖊

Big week for Myrrh and Aegeus!

Aegeus is going on a work trip for a few days at the beginning of the week. And this weekend my best (and only) friend is flying across the country to stay with us. BFF and I will be going on a little road trip and spending 4 days together!

We haven't seen each other in 3+ years and they are moving to another country for 3 years of service in January.

Needless to say, we will be living in the moment and cherishing every single second together this weekend. 🖤

I am in my book nerd era. The unbearable urge in my soul to read all the books is achingly unsatisfied.

Why don't I have time to read every time I really really want to, but the passion leaves me when I do have time?! 😤

Now to find a cult of book nerds to perform dark magic or make a deal with the devil or whatever. I would give my right t*t for time to stop while I'm reading. Any takers??🍒

Educational Resource Inequality Rant

I forgot how lovely it was to have access to a university library and their databases. I recently started working at the university that I graduated from 3 years ago, and I didn't realized how much I missed that environment and it's resources. (Staff gain access to student resources.)

It's kind of depressing how inaccessible databases, information, and resources are for people who are not associated with an educational institution.

Yes, public libraries have some resources, but as a former librarian at a public library, I can attest to the fact that public resources are severely underfunded and lacking. I am a patron at 3 different public library systems, and still don't have access to research materials (e.g. peer reviewed scholarly articles and research studies).

Ultimately, if someone who doesn't have access to a university database/library needs research material, they have to pay for access to scholarly journals and whatnot. This is horse waste.

Imagine society if everyone had access to scholarly, research materials for free. Equality for all economic classes, mother cluckers.

Don't even get me started on literacy issues...
