Good Omens Fanfiction Recommendation (July 2021)

Been a while since I posted something here but I’ve been reading a lot obviously. So, here are some of my favourites. As usual, all pairs are Aziraphale/Crowley unless specified otherwise.

1. The Devil’s Cut/ The Angel’s by racketghost (explicit)

He has seen Aziraphale drunk before. Of course he has. Drunk on sacramental wine in Florence and drunk on honeyed mead in Wessex. Drunk in his bookshop-- more than a handful of times-- on good wine from France, but never drunk on hooch.

He is not certain that Aziraphale knows what he is in for.

Lovely moment about them being incredibly drunk! Good as a stand-alone and even better as part of their “Strange Moons” Series.

2. Closed Set by racketghost (explicit) ONGOING

Crowley has been harboring a dirty secret and Hell-- six-months post Armageddon-- would like to see the receipts.

Or, take Zack and Miri Make a Porno and give it to a writer who takes everything too seriously.

One of my all-time faves! Beautifully illustrated and delightfully awkward. Don’t read if you’re freaked out by realistic sex scenes and bodily fluids. As much as it pains me to read, misunderstandings are a very good trope, especially when they’re used like this!

3. it will not be enough (Major character death)

Hastur/Ligur! What a lovely pair!

There was no slow burn. It was not an epic love story. There were no smouldering glances over lobster traps and the day’s catch. No weighted touches as hands passed over ropes over the course of a busy day - at least, no more than there had ever been.

Hastur cannot name the thing he feels for Ligur, not until he is gone.

Oh, oh my poor heart...this one hurts a lot but it’s also really good. Totally recommend it if you can handle it :) I adore the atmosphere and characterisations in this. perfectly dim, depressing fisherman’s town ...

Good Omens Fan-fiction Rec (May 2021)

After a year of not posting anything, here we are again! Time sure flies, huh? If you're like me, you might still be stuck in lockdown depending on where you life and yea, it sure sucks. But also I've been reading a lot more than i would normally. I've gone back to reread old favorites and discovered new pieces. And I want to share! So here we go…

1. Rough enough for love by Nekhen (explicit)

Pairing: Crowley/Aziraphale

A fluffy story with a whole lot of smut. I'm not usually a big dom/sub story enthusiast, but this is delightful. There's lots of kink negotiation, talking and definitely explicit consent given, which i always appreciate in stories. The scenes are written realisticly with just a healthy dose of awkwardness here and there.

Amazing story! Especially the dialog between the Crowley and Aziraphale. The author gives a lot of information regarding the filming process and, as far as I know, they also have a background in theatre and have done a lot of research on this topic! I definitely recommend it!

Closer up, when he can see the figure as more than just a shadow against the water, he realizes he's wrong again— the spreading wings are black-feathered. No bird, and also no angel.

Together, however, things may be a little different.

On A Wing And A Prayer by RainyDayDecaf

For the second time in his eternal life, Aziraphale disobeys the Almighty and saves a child from the Great Flood. Not to be outdone, Crawly saves just a few more.

Found this one while going through my old bookmarks. Brought back some fun memories. . . 

Certainly a story worth reading if you enjoy fun, 10/10 dialouge, lots of snogging and have a good sense of humour. This piece feels very polished and I love the amosphere throughout the whole thing. The writing is clear and easy to follow. 

Definately worth reading a few more times!

1. Petrichor and Parchment (explicit)

“Mr. Crowley, I presume?” Aziraphale asked in lieu of an introduction, which was not forthcoming. The guy hadn’t even removed his sunglasses. Oh God, he had a tattoo on his face. Aziraphale wasn’t one to judge, but… what kind of gardener had a snake tattoo on his face?

2. Under Construction (explicit)

Crowley has one goal: sell the run-down lodge in the Cascades that his uncle left him in his will.

He doesn't expect to meet someone like Aziraphale, the kind handyman working on his uncle's property who turns out to be more of an enigma than Crowley first thought.

3. Car Trouble (explicit)

Aziraphale's car breaks down so he takes it to the first mechanic he can find. From there, his mundane life changes drastically as he finds himself befriending the man fixing his car.

Then he looked away to the king, and was taken aback by the dazed look on the man’s face. Merlin squealed and made for his room, but Arthur had seen him, and grabbed his arm.

“Merlin,” he said, a beatific smile on his face. “I found you, my love.”

Words Hurt (In More Ways Than One)

Summary:  “You ran away. Maybe you should have just stayed away.” The cruel words he said to Keith won’t stop echoing in Lance’s head and the guilt hurts as much as his painfully sore throat. Now he’s diagnosed to a quarantine with Keith as his caretaker and Lance finds that the words he needs to speak are going to hurt in more ways than one.

Story snippet: 

“But…” Hunk worried his hands together. “If Lance is contagious who will take care of him?”

“I don’t need–”

“I will.”

Lance’s mouth dropped as Keith stepped forward.

“No, no,” Lance waved a hand as he clambered to his feet as though height would make him more believable. “I’m good. I can–”

He broke off on his own that time as another dry cough choked his throat and a sudden wave of dizziness swept over him.

“You’re running a fever,” Hunk pointed out. “And all of this on top of… of earlier,” and he sent a quick, guilty glance in Keith’s direction too. “You need someone to keep an eye on you . And it has to be in closer quarters than this,” he gestured to the open air, “until you’re on the antibiotic. But,” he turned to Keith, “how are–?”

“Galrans are immune to most bacterial diseases,” Krolia said smoothly. “Keith is a perfect candidate. He can stay aboard the Red Lion with Lance so as not to spread it and can pilot if needed.”

Lance ignored the pang at that reminder and the new guilt at his earlier words.

“You ran away.”

He couldn’t do this. Not for over a day.
