Real World Origins of the Akatsuki Headcanon 🌎

A/N: I always thought it was cool how One Piece characters have real world origins. I thought to myself, what would the real world origins of the Akatsuki would be.

Pein-England 🇬🇧

His dub voice sounds so classy, almost like a British accent.

Konan-Russia 🇷🇺

How she carries herself. Reminds me of an elegant Russian beauty.

Itachi-Argentina 🇦🇷

With that dark hair I can definitely see Itachi being of Latino descent. There’s also no denying those handsome features.

Kisame-Brazil 🇧🇷

Tiger sharks in Brazil are common.

Sasori-Italy 🇮🇹

Wild card with this one, but his hair color reminds me of Italian pasta sauce. He also has a thing for controlling others, kinda like the evil doers in the mafia.

Deidara-France 🇫🇷

Hello? Paris? What other city is known for its beautiful art? “Vive la France, hm!”

Kakuzu-Egypt 🇪🇬

He has a darker skin complexion so I’ll have to say a country in Africa. Considering his age, he is very old which makes me think of ancient the Egyptian era.

Hidan-Romania 🇷🇴

Hidan wears his cloak unzipped which flares out in the way that reminds me of Dracula. Vampires in fiction are often portrayed of being from Transylvania.

Orochimaru-Australia 🇦🇺

Wild and dangerous snakes can be found in Australia.

Zetsu-Mexico 🇲🇽

His black and white skin kinda reminds me of the holiday “The Day of the Dead” where the people paint their skin white and black to resemble skeletons. As for Zetsu’s flytrap, I’m reminded of a cactus in the middle of a desert in Mexico.

Tobi-America 🇺🇸

The all obnoxious, loud American. No wonder Deidara can’t stand him.

*headcanon - sharingan memories, madara, and izuna’s eyes.

A little known canon fact is that Sharingan users who take the eyes of another Sharingan user can recall the recorded memories of the original owner. When Sasuke took Itachi’s eyes, he commented that his brother’s memories were “disgusting and sad”.

So let’s think about Madara. Madara who, nearly blind, took the dying Izuna’s eyes on his request. Madara who didn’t merely watch his brother receive that fatal wound and die later on, but also got to see everything firsthand as Izuna saw it, who would remember everything that Izuna ever saw with those eyes for the rest of his life.

(You know he absolutely went knee-deep in everything Izuna left behind, even if it hurt him. How does it feel to relive the world through your dead brother’s eyes?)

The Sharingan never forgets. All the memories recorded by them – the original trauma that inspired their manifestation, every battle situation that necessitated their use, every kill made with the Sharingan on… is remembered in perfect detail. Every. Single. Thing.

No wonder the Uchiha have a reputation for going nutty. These are killers under extreme stress and they can’t even forget the worst of their memories? Fucking hell.

On the other hand, this makes me wonder if their infamous “deep love” is caused by this. I personally headcanon that the Uchiha record good memories (to offset the bad) and some of them use it to commit details of their loved ones. What must that be like? To remember everything about someone you love, to never forget their face, to see them so clearly that not even a lifetime will wipe their memory away? What is it like to remember them even when they are gone?

Maybe the Uchiha don’t let go, not because of sheer bloody-mindedness, but because they physically can’t.

Elsie is a pale girl of petite stature with cheeks that are prone to blushing. She has short, wavy silver hair with long forelocks and messy bangs. Her eyes are teal with pink and yellow hues and two moles underneath the right one. She typically wears a wine-red button-up with a pink oversized sweater on top, a black skirt, nude stockings, a white ribbon choker, and black converse sneakers. She can also be seen carrying around a small bullet journal at times.

Personality:

Elsie feels her emotions strongly but keeps them quelled, preferring to hide them beneath a smile and silly facade. She's quite shameful and makes decisions without thinking about the following consequences, often getting her in a lot more trouble than what’s it’s worth. Most of these bad decisions have to do with food but if you dare question her be prepared to go deaf when she shouts ”yolo” at you. She’s incredibly forgetful and easily distracted, which is why she keeps a bullet journal on her most days unless she forgets that too. She may be book smart but she certainly isn't tactical.

Despite her feral nature, Elsie’s very friendly and patient with others. She loves helping whenever she can, whether it be listening to rants and/or giving advice or just grabbing something. She's open-minded and optimistic, having to genuinely meet someone before judging them. Although she won't be blatantly rude, Elsie’s protective over her friends - she does her best to calm things down but if it doesn't work she’ll remove herself and her companion from the dilemma. She's very selfless and amiable, not being against scolding them if they neglect themselves.

Behind her sunny persona hides an insecure girl with a fear of disappointing others. She’s afraid of being abandoned and/or forgotten and cares deeply about others’ opinions on her. She’s an anxious overthinker with a mind that's constantly running, hence her forgetfulness. Even when things bother her she doesn't say it, she's scared of offending people and making them upset with her.

I made these as a way to compile all the geographical vocabulary that I thought was useful and interesting for writers. Some descriptors share categories, and some are simplified, but for the most part everything is in its proper place.
