my first day of college i didn’t realize the concept of a class going on before mine and so when i arrived 30 minutes early and heard someone (a professor) talking and my brain went “oh, he’s waiting for class to start. i’ll be a good student and pick a seat early” so long story short i accidentally walked into class too early and ended up attending the wrong one 💀

sharing a room with siblings culture is waking your sibling up when you’re scared of the dark so you can go to the bathroom knowing someone’s awake to hear your potential screams and save you

when people see me bringing food to the park, and see the geese run to me with overjoyed honks of happiness and excitement, they believe i have the upper hand, that the geese must see me as some gracious deity who brings them their treats every day, but they are Wrong
i am not the one who rules these lands, i am not in a leading role, nor am i at the top of this food chain in the parks. people might think and see that i (literally) have the geese eating out of my hand, but it is they who pulls the strings. i must appease the geese, or else they device my fate

those “was $x.xx” stickers on products except instead of markdown it’s just letting us know how much inflation there was so we know what we missed out on

today is psych class our prof was teaching us about wernicke’s aphasia and showed us a video of a guy who had it, and it made me sad to watch because obviously his life was hard because of this.
but, at the end of the interview when they thanked him for his time, he said, “thank you. i hope the world lasts for you.” and. i dunno. that phrase just sounds comforting and it’s abstract in a way that makes sense and. i could analyze all the meaning of this phrase but i just want to say that it’s really precious and it’s ingrained in my memory now

hearing and watching old videos of 10 year old me playing piano at recitals and trying my hardest when i wasn’t passionate about music makes me feel so fond of past me like. i hate on her so much but she was really trying her best. sometimes i wish i could smack some sense into her but i also just want to give her a hug and let her know it’ll all be worth it in the end. that she’ll be okay and get through it and be better because of it.
i think it’s normal to hate some aspects of your past self, but i think it should be equally as common to see the best in said past because of the circumstances and problems they went through too.

living next to the woods has a few downsides, but one of the major upsides it has is that when i have the urge to run away and start a new life in the woods in a peaceful cabin surrounded only by nature that ends up being the refuge for a main character who ends up dragging me along on their adventure, singing musical numbers and dodging death along the way, i can pretend by dragging my guitar to the mossy bridge in the middle of nowhere, far enough from the rest of civilization, and sit down

can i just say that. i love how consistent i am? like, i’m not the person to find a nice song and look into the band to find more music. however, i WILL hear a clip of some other song and go, “huh, nice.” and it’ll be replaying in my head all day until i find it somehow and it’s just so satisfying when 95% of the time it’s by the artist of a song i already liked. and the cycle continues until i’ve heard and loved (usually) every song by the same artist until it seems like i seeked them out deliberately (this is usually with the additional help of music algorithms) . i’ll hear someone hum or sing something that strikes a particular string in my musical orientation so and i’ll be so inclined to find out what it is that i search as soon as possible and it’s so nice to finally find it and find out that it was a cavetown song, or a living tombstone song, or an arctic monkeys song all along.
i’ll love a story and a poem as separate pieces only to find out they were both by the same person. i’m so naturally inclined to be consistent and it’s comforting tbh. being drawn into the same artist without knowing and by surprise is the most pleasant feeling i’ve ever felt i think
