Keith twitched and squirmed away from Lance quickly, a loud squeak coming out of him, unlike anything Lance had ever heard. Lance blinked at Keith, and Keith’s face grew darker and darker in color, his eyes wide from the scare. “Dude,” Lance said, “are you ticklish? Is that what that was?”

“Don’t you dare,” Keith said, backing away from him on the couch quickly. Lance just grinned, following Keith and grabbing his squirming leg to pull him back. “Lance, don’t. I’m serious.” 

“Don’t what?” Lance asked, grabbing Keith’s hip to pull him closer again, running his fingers up Keith side to make him shriek with laughter. There was a struggle, Lance managing to continue to tickle Keith as Keith tried to push him away, his hand on Lance’s face. 

“Lance,” he huffed between burst of laughter, “Lance! Cut it out!” He squirmed and Lance laughed with him, finally pausing when he was over Keith, an arm on either side to support him. Lance smiled, pecking Keith on the lips quickly. “Fuck off!” 

“Awe, come on!” Lance teased, crawling after Keith as he started to wriggle away again. Keith turned, scowling and quickly flipped them over, managing to sit on Lance’s stomach and grab one of his legs, running his fingers over the bottom of his foot. “K-Keith! Okay, I’m sorry, I concede!” 

Lance squirmed under Keith, who smirked at him and kept at tickling his foot until Lance was crying with laughter. When Keith finally let Lance go, he leaned down and pecked the scowling Lance on the lips. “Awe, come on~”***Requests Open*** This was cute thanks anon!

okay i actually have no idea why this came to my mind lmao, just the thought of it was hilarious to me so here y’all go have some mini headcanons 😂

shiro

☆ okay i don’t know why but for some reason i can imagine him actually taking quite a few beatings there? dunno if it has anything to do with the galra or him being an absolute gremlin of a boyfriend from his years spent with adam? possibly a combination of the both?

☆ but tbh he surprisingly has the most controlled reactions to it. when he gets hit you can read every single ounce of pain he has on his face, but he’s surprisingly quiet?? he may let out a grunt if it REALLY bothers him but he’s usually silent about it?

☆ will hands down become extremely exhausted for the rest of the day because of it. doesn’t want to deal with shit, doesn’t want to deal WITH anyone’s shit, just wants to trap himself in his quarters and be left alone.

☆ okay he has a big family, he’s probably taken a good beating to that spot several times. nevertheless it’s NEVER enough to actually get him to grow used to it.

☆ besides hunk, he’s probably the most dramatic about his reactions. the instant he gets hit, the loudest and highest-pitched shriek that he’s ever made leaves him and he immediately falls to the ground, holding his crotch and is pretty much in tears

☆ you’d better prepare him a nice kaltenecker milkshake and get him an ice pack because you’d BEST believe he’s gonna be a baby for the rest of the damn day.

keith

☆ honestly he has close to zero experience getting hit in the willy. i mean obviously it’s happened a couple of times, and they’ve all sucked so he remembers the pain, so he’s definitely more sensitive than the other paladins.

☆ he’ll probably just stand there in shock for a few seconds after it happens before the pain finally hits, and he slowly falls to his knees as he grabs his crotch, falling over so he face-plants onto the ground. his teeth are gritted the whole time and he lets out a sharp grunt of pain as it’s happening, panting from the intensity of it all but unable to speak.

☆ you’d better get him a blanket and a pillow because after that mess he’s not gonna be able to move for the rest of the night. he won’t have the energy to eat, speak, or socialize until the next morning. he is absolutely winded from this.

hunk

☆ like lance, he has a pretty big family so he’s probably gotten hit in the nuts a lot. and also, like lance, HE IS NOT USED TO IT. HE WILL NEVER GROW USED TO IT.

☆ PREPARE YOUR EARS FOR THE LOUDEST AND LONGEST WHINING SCREAM THE INSTANT IT HAPPENS. like listen he immediately topples over and grabs hold of the abused area, trying to catch his breath as every sound in the book leaves him. he probably stays on the ground for a good half hour before even attempting to stand up again.

☆ HE REFUSES TO COOK DINNER TONIGHT. and you’d better make him his favorite. he’s probably gonna behave like a sick child but you know what?? HE’S IN PAIN DAMMIT. TAKE CARE OF HIM.

hello all and welcome to paladin-shenanigans!!! this is an independent blog featuring headcanons and brief one-shots of your favorite paladins and side characters from the netflix series voltron: legendary defender. this blog has been around since 2018, but i’ve decided to revive it in fall 2021! it is centered around answering writing requests for your favorite characters and relationships from the series, and my ask box is also open to chat as well, i love talking to people!

this is an open blog, meaning that all shippers can interact. although i will say that i personally am not comfortable with shaladin ships or ships involving lotor and the paladins, so you will not see any of that on this blog. specifically, no pidge x other paladins (x reader is of course fine), only shiro x adam/curtis/reader, and lotura is fine. klance is also my ship bias. as for drama and discourse, please look elsewhere. i want to keep this space positive and fun.

another thing i want to get out of the way quickly is the fact that i reserve the right to decline or delete any requests for any reason. this may be due to the fact that i don’t have any ideas for your request, your request makes me uncomfortable, or it’s not something i personally find interesting or entertaining. no hard feelings to any of you guys who send me stuff that i may end up declining, it’s just that i want to start making things more comfortable for myself around here!

Hey! Can you write something with Keith with an s/o thats from earth? Like they were from the garrison as a scientist and had a little thing but then somehow they got to space?

hey anon!! i'd be glad to write this for you, i figured you meant that keith's s/o got into space at some point and they reunited, so i hoped this is what you wanted!!

☆ keith always found himself gravitating towards his s/o’s lab, even after getting booted from the garrison. even though he wasn’t too keen on in-depth experimenting himself, he was interested in every little thing they were working on.

☆ when they were both at the garrison, the two of them had began a secret relationship away from the prying eyes of the other students, and they only spent time together in the hours of the night when nobody else would bother checking if he was there. keith and his s/o continued to see each other even after getting kicked out.

☆ however, one evening when he tried to sneak back into the garrison to see them, they were gone. it didn’t take long to catch wind of the fact that you had gotten captured by the galra.

☆ once again, his world had turned dark. he was completely alone, no friends or family, stuck in the place he grew up and completely secluding himself in his grief.

☆ however once he heard of zarkon from shiro, he was determined to find his s/o again. i can imagine that during one of his solo blade missions, he became sidetracked by looking at prisoner logs in galra ships, much like pidge did when she was trying to find her brother and father.

☆ he did manage to track down a familiar signal from a galra ship, one of a scientist who had learned and essentially mastered altean alchemy in the shortest amount of time known to the universe. right away he knew it was his s/o, so he managed to sneak a ship out of the galra cruiser to go and track it.

☆ however the base where they were located was heavily guarded. it wasn’t difficult to get in due to him having a galra battle ship, but he was met with nothing but aggression by the guards when he landed.

☆ constant fighting allowed him to reach the very center of the base where his s/o was guarding an experiment. they fought tooth and nail to protect it, but as soon as keith asked where his s/o was, they paused, knocked to the ground by keith and then they removed their helmet. a moment of relief occurred when keith realized who it was, and he immediately wrapped them up in a hug.

☆ when his s/o explained what they were doing out in space, they had to mention their experiment. they set it up as an aid to honerva’s plan to get lotor back, but in reality it would allow the paladins to surf all realities and pick out the one where everyone thrives in one foul swoop, bringing honerva’s plan to her knees.

☆ of course, they needed to go forward with their plan as soon as they met back up with allura, coran, and the other paladins, but they could only really spend time together as soon as they hid within the base, escaping at the last minute as soon as keith’s s/o was able to capture the essence that would open the wormhole to the source of realities.

☆ the two of them only had eyes for each other as soon as they were safe back in the castle of lions, but keith’s s/o would prove to be an essential and valuable asset in this war.

☆ okay, i’m going to start this off the bat and say that S8 DIDN’T HAPPEN THE WAY IT DID FOR THIS MAN. adam is alive and well, the voltron team found him out in space after he got away from the galra and tried to attack them on his own but he was captured and eventually freed by the rebel fighters. that’s how i look at it

☆ so yes, basically you can see where i’m going with this: the two hang out together as happy boyfriends and get married and maybe adopt a couple kids along the way!! definitely!! oh, and let’s not forget the fact that they’d likely also have a dog and/or a cat as well!!

☆ okay, outside of his personal life, he probably did go back to teaching at the garrison. he decided he needed a break from flying and fighting and just went back to course instruction. he’s not necessarily retired because he’s only like...28?? i think??? but talking about astronomy and quantum physics are where he truly thrives.

☆ THIS 👏 MAN 👏 ALSO 👏 FINALLY 👏 GETS 👏 SOME 👏 GODDAMN 👏 THERAPY. i mean we’ve ALL seen how his PTSD has affected him all throughout the show, so now that the war’s over he finally has the time and energy to find a therapist and psychiatrist and get the help he definitely needs!!!

☆ he probably writes a series of blog posts or even a whole ass book about his experiences as a galra prisoner and about his adventures with voltron. honestly he kind of just wants to get his story out there for the world to see and enjoy.

☆ again, i don’t really want to go with the canon ending regarding allura’s death, because in this universe she’s alive, HOWEVER. the two of them don’t actually end up getting together but staying very close friends. but in regards to the war, it becomes obvious more every day how his experiences have affected him. he still has a playful air about him, but his bouncy and troublemaking sides are effectively gone.

☆ i do like the idea of him becoming almost like an earth mentor on planet altea and kind of like another one of allura’s royal advisors with coran? i mean of course he still travels and farms a lot on earth with his family, but he does spend a majority of the time working with the youngsters on altea.

☆ for some reason he got bored one night and decided to start messaging keith? and he responded?? and something within him made his heart absolutely bounce up and down??

☆ he was probably all like “hey man i miss you” and keith was like “yeah i’ve been thinking a lot about you as well” and, of course, with lance being lance, had to say something like “what, you don’t miss me?” and keith, embarrassed, fessed up over text, but it made his heart melt.

☆ they definitely met up somewhere at some point after this texting event and just. reconciled about old times. but of course, like i said, with lance being lance, had to just jump right in and fess up and say “i’ve missed you a lot”. he probably let out an “i like you” involuntary and keith just stared at him for a good solid three minutes before bursting out into laughter.

keith

☆ like lance, he also finds it hard to stay on earth. his time as a voltron paladin really made him love the feeling of space travel, and his instincts keep him from sitting in one place for too long.

☆ i do like canon’s idea of having him work as a relief organizer, i think something like that is incredibly important. but i also kind of see him as like...also a traveler? someone who likes to explore on his own a lot? he’s definitely traveled farther than even planet altea, to places he’s never seen before, and even gave some new planets their own names.

☆ of course he likes to go and visit his mom and kolivan on daibazaal from time to time, but he keeps finding himself coming and going back to planet altea...and after that texting shenanigan he had with lance he just had to see him again.

☆ of course, like i said, their moment together on altea was somewhat like a first date, but shortly after keith left, he didn’t really want to stay away from lance for too long. after a few more relief missions he returned to altea and decided that he wanted to stay with lance, just for a little while.

☆ i do think that the two of them, joined by matt and pidge, did attempt to find the lions again and where they went, even attempting to enter oriande to see if they went there. their efforts however weren’t entirely successful, but keith figured that it was all right if he could stay with lance and try to move on from his memories of the black lion.

hunk

☆ this man would absolutely use this new opportunity to spread happiness through his cooking across the galactic coalition. not only would he introduce earth food to aliens who had never seen anything like it, he’d make meals that were cultural blends from different planets.

☆ he does enjoy visiting altea and daibazaal from time to time as well, not only because he has friends there but finds the food there exquisite and very fun to cook. he also offered to take his family, but they were afraid they’d slow him down since they’d had no training.

☆ he probably also teach a cooking class at the galaxy garrison and arrive as a guest speaker on specific days so he could entertain the students about his time as a student at the garrison as well as his time as a paladin of voltron. he probably also picked up a part time job, working with the holt family as a mechanic before he decided to take to the skies once again.

☆ he’s probably also joined lance during one of his guidance episodes or training on planet altea. he loves being there for the alien youth and telling his story, and he finds it especially fun if he has a friend to joke around and reminisce of old times with.

☆ he’s probably the most freeter-like of all of the paladins, besides keith. i can see him doing the most frequent space traveling of all of the paladins. he’s probably also started an intergalactic cooking show as well!

pidge

☆ she, matt, and the rest of her family continued to help the garrison advance their tech and introduced ways to infuse altean magic and earth technology together. they helped to advance the beginning of loads of new ships being built for the garrison and perhaps even for militaries worldwide.

☆ she probably sees shiro the most often out of all the paladins. she stays on earth along with him and often passes him in the hallway when they’re working at the garrison.

☆ she probably pranked her brother by building an entire miniature army of N-7′s just to see if he’d be able to pick out the original. however he got her back by hiding her laptop and moving her stuff behind her back when she was looking for it or needed it while she was building something.

☆ she probably ended up wanting to teach at the garrison, something to do with engineering or technology. she probably began as a teacher assistant to someone like shiro or adam before taking on the job herself.

☆ she and her family are usually the ones who put together the return parties and celebrations whenever her fellow paladins come back to earth. these parties usually happen once every few months, but she’s always happy to see that her friends are alive and well. they usually begin with reminiscing about their days as paladins and end with one or two (maybe three) of them drunk or high, whichever happens first.

Could you write a galra experiment reader with keith? Like reader is technically a human but glara experimented on them? Splitting their dna or or stuff?

oo this sounds interesting! i hope i portrayed what you wanted here and that you enjoy it!

☆ being half-galra himself, he can't help but kind of want to relate to his s/o, even though his situation has been in place since he was born

☆ as endlessly curious he is about his s/o’s situation, he’s very wary about anything that could have potentially set his s/o off during their captivity. he’s already aware of shiro’s PTSD, and he’d hate to accidentally trigger his s/o by asking questions.

☆ that said, they’d likely have to go to him first to open up about everything they went through. of course, as they spoke, he’d sit respectfully in silence. his face can be a bit hard to read when being spoken to about something difficult, but trust me, his insides always start to get all twisted and he may just get the tiniest bit emotional.

☆ emotional but on the more angry side of things. he has a vengeful soul so he’d want nothing more than to ring the necks of the galra soldiers who did this sort of thing to the one he loved more than anything.

☆ he notices that some parts of their story sound similar to what shiro went through. they had a leg amputated and replaced with a galra tech prosthetic, and they were constantly put under and had several cells from their body taken and injected with poison and other types of medicine just to see what happened

☆ the soldiers would also take rather large amounts of their blood at one time so they could give it to other aliens, just to see what happened to them. and in return they were given this strange cocktail of galra blood along with that of rare and endangered alien species (possibly altean) and it made them really sick, to the point of almost dying

☆ they were also put under to do a DNA test, and managed to essentially make them a genetically made half-galra. half of their DNA was essentially replaced with that of a weaker galra soldier, one who had likely failed to complete a mission for zarkon and was instead thrown in with the prisoners to torture.

☆ and, of course, to test the results, they threw keith’s s/o straight into battle. turns out that the new galra DNA made them a lot stronger, but they were still weak with their prosthetic leg, and they were almost killed on the battlefield until another prisoner jumped in to save their life.

☆ hearing about it all made keith incredibly angry and furious, nearly taking it all out right away on every other galra soldier he met later, but whenever he was alone with his s/o he would make sure that they were protected, kept at his side so he could make sure nothing so cruel would ever happen to them again.

☆ he’s also a lot sweeter with his s/o in private. he tends to be touchy and affectionate in general (to their and everyone else’s surprise) but now that he knows their story he’s kind of become a bit more clingy. he can’t help but consistently remind his s/o that no matter what they’ve been through, no matter what they look like or what they’re made of, he still loves them just the way they are, and that their story doesn’t change how he feels about them.

☆ basically keith is a precious and protective boyfriend who would die for his s/o and their happiness

I kinda wish the fandom was slightly more alive but not at its peak like in 2016…I was in like maybe 5th or 6th grade and my guy that was so intense-

oh yeah kind of same, i didn't actually join the fandom till liiiike i wanna say 2018 when i made this blog?? like right around after season 7 was just released. i was a senior in high school at the time but i was also surprised because it seemed like only a few folks in my friend group were familiar with and fans of the series? but yeah i'm definitely with you, i think there are a few active blogs that run on queue or do things like fanart and gif making/reblogs but that's all i've seen lately? i wish there were other blogs that were just as active as i am but maybe i'm not looking hard enough 🤷‍♂️
