I know it's wildly racist and is the "nobility = pale skin" trope, but the real time whitewashing of zelda in wind waker never fails to make me laugh my ass off from how jarring it is. It literally feels like a parody of itself

I haven’t seen the musical fully (it’s top bucket list to see it professionally live), but I know the story pretty well and I know the soundtrack inside and out. For a while, though, I didn’t know the context of the songs and just liked them on their own, so “Stay, I Pray You” was really confusing to me.

My sister explained that it’s when they’re leaving Russia, which I got, but I thought that it was also some kind of flashback, maybe just a nod or something, to the tsar in his final moments because I didn’t recognize the singer’s voice.

I know that’s not true, but I really like the idea and think of it every time I hear the song.

Stay, I Pray You

No, 'cause like, 'Stay, I Pray You' is just the saddest song I have ever heard. I'm crying my eyes out.

To leave one's country is sad in itself, even if it was something that one wants to do. To leave one's country while knowing one might never come back is just devastating.

I become the most patriotic I could be while hearing that song.

Hey there! I’m not sure if you’ve been asked this before, but what’s the story behind your botw/totk link’s scars? Not the triforce one (which I really love the story of I think it goes really well with the story and symbolism, something something), but the two main ones on his face.

I cant stand a “trust the process” ass bitch, it is not a crime to say oda has sacrificed the strawhat crew’s development for gags and bloated side character explorations!!! He can be wrong and has probably written himself into a convoluted narrative that is increasingly harder to untangle back into a cohesive narrative line!!!

He could have cut the wano cast in half and gave zoro some history. Don’t tell me to be satisfied with a couple sbs answers when I know he is king of written amazing character focused stories. He could have given franky SOMETHING in egghead, some crumbs at LEAST. Robin, BADASS MISS ALL SUNDAY, has been made a total damsel in distress. This rant was motivated bc there’s been an uptick in usopp hate bc oda is too married to the coward/useless gag. I know he can give us good usopp that is scared but GAINS OBSERVATION HAKI to save his captain (JUST TO NEVER ADDRESS IT EVER AGAIN). Everyone says “trust the process” that elbaf will be usopp arc but they said that for zoro in wano and franky in egghead…

I love this story,but that’s exactly why I know oda can do the strawhats justice. We can absolutely trim the fat and relax on introducing so many new side characters if there’s any chance of locking into the end game before this man burns himself out before the finish line.

My biggest fear is that this Final saga drags out for 10+ years only get more convoluted and farther from the crew and Oda having to tie it up hastily when he literally can’t continue on writing, with the crews dreams and fates being left to some finale sbs.

Has anyone noticed that in a lot of musicals, the shift from act I to act II is VIOLENT. Like it’s honestly comical.

My favorite examples are probably Wicked and Matilda. Like, Matilda goes from cute coming of age to a traumatized, abused, and literally MAGICAL stick-it-to-the-man.

Wicked is more of like a tonal shift but it’s still absurd. Elphaba goes from somewhat quirky, different smart girl to animal rights activist against the government to a flying MENACE that has fully given up on humanity, except for two people, one of which was almost burned at the stake and is no longer technically part of humanity.
