Second chances last - Theodore Nott X Reader
"Prove me wrong then! Prove me that I can trust you, that you won’t fuck me over the second I drop my guard!"
Just a quick Theo Blurb. After breaking up, your new bf cheats, and Theo wants you back. Implied Slytherin reader.
.
The fluttering candlelight of the party was supposed to be soothing, to incite conversation and chatter. But you weren't exactly relaxed. You were dressed nicely, presentable, pretty. But you just didn't quite feel it. You sighed, leaning against the wall, watching the party go by, the faces passing by with polite smiles. Some are more familiar than others. The house was old, with a large balcony overlooking the hall, music playing. Full bookshelves. Drinks in nice glasses. Some wealthy family has heirlooms displayed on the walls. You don't know why you were really there, but you wanted to be around people.
"Can we talk, please?"
Theodore says he's in a nice dress shirt. He looks handsome. He approached you while you were lost in thought, and you stiffened.
"I don't really think that's a good idea." You retorted.
You sighed and folded your arms, rocking on the heels of your shoes. You had broken up with Theo less than a year ago, foolishly jumping into another relationship to avoid being alone, and well, it backfired.
"I'm really sorry about what happened," Theo says sympathetically.
"You didn't deserve that." He says. you stay silent, unsure of what to say to him.
"That fucker shouldn't have hurt you like that-," He goes on, stopping himself. he runs his fingers through his hair to calm himself. He takes a step towards you, closer.
"Theo, what do you really want?" you ask him pointedly.
"You." he says quickly.
"You know why I can't do that," you say. You start walking away from him, towards the stairs, past the balcony, and into a private space, hopefully a bathroom, to avoid the conversation that has exhausted you. Of course, the bathroom was locked. Theo had followed you up, gently pleading with you. You finally gave in and turned to him.
"I just want to be with you, I miss you," he confesses; away from the party, he's more honest. "I can't, Theo," you scoffed, tears threatening to spill.
"I can't get hurt again," you said coldly. "It's not worth it," you said. Theo looks shaken by these words, "You'll only hurt me, like everyone else."
"I never meant to hurt you!" he somewhat shouts, though the party is loud enough that it doesn't linger. "It doesn't matter you already did." you snapped back. "All anyone I've ever been with-" your frustration boils over, tears stream down your cheeks as you flush. "Everyone just wants to screw me over," your voice cracks a bit.
Theo softens up, hating himself for upsetting you, and knowing he hurt you, even if he tried everything in his power not to. A break up is never a fun ordeal.
"I'm just asking for a second chance," he says softly.
"Prove me wrong then! Prove me that I can trust you, that you won’t fuck me over the second I drop my guard!" you snapped. "Like all the others," you mutter.
"Fine."
Theo grabs your wrist and pulls you out onto the balcony, where everyone can see you. It draws some attention.
He kisses you, deeply, passionately. It ignited the spark you tried for a whole year to snuff out. His touch is gentle, meaningful, and he pulls away and holds your face, wiping the tears off your warm cheeks with his thumbs. Your hands find his wrists; you can feel the room watching you.
"I won't ever hurt you again. Promise," he says softly. the moment melts you away from the party, and suddenly it's just the two of you. You still love him, and God damn it, even if you don't want to, you miss him. You hadn't ended on bad terms, but breakups always hurt. And then the rumors started that he was hooking up with Astoria Greengrass. That one hurt. But you all knew she was pining after Draco. In that moment, everything just made sense.
"I'm sorry," you uttered. embarassed.
"Don't apologize," he cooed. "I love you Y/N." he said.
"I love you, Teddy."

Anywhere - Lucy Gray Baird X Fem!Reader
Prompt: Love can come from anywhere.
Summary: While foraging, Lucy Gray comes up with an idea for a love song after you share a special moment together.
A/N: Warning for shitty AI written songs, fluff, maybe a little out of character. Been feeling more fxf fics lately, so I tried this out. Inspired by a random thought I had while reading Sunrise on the reaping. Bonus at the end!
The forest was warm in the spring, but breezy, the perfect time for foraging, when there was a whole earth fertile with resources, precious resources. The Covey was clever and resourceful, and could use just about anything. You had set out with Lucy Gray in the young morning hours, right before the sunrise, watching it illuminated everything in its soft warm glow until it rose above you both, shining down. The trees offered sanctuary from the heat, You watched her with every step, the way she respectfully stepped through the forest as if it was her true home. She could be part of nature herself, blending seamlessly with the foliage and creatures. Her colorful dress danced around her as she moved, swift, like a snake through the bushes.
Her nimble fingers picked some fresh herbs, some root plants, berries you had come across, some vines and wildflowers for Maude Ivory who wanted to make the Covey flower crowns before the show in the evening. She greeted the wildlife, coming across spiders, snakes, and bird species you had never heard of before.
As you followed after her, the long traveling but comfortable silence was broken by your gasp. Something had rushed past your feet, causing you to be startled. It was a snake of some kind, or a rodent of some kind, whatever little creature it was you had scared it far more than it scared you. Lucy Gray turned her head back in concern, relieved to see you were okay.
"Are you okay?" she asked, you nodded. "I think it was a mouse." you said sheepishly. You enjoyed the forest, but weren't too keen on disturbing the wildlife that lived there. "Well you can't be scared of no mice out here." Lucy Gray said with a soft laugh. it made you smile.
"I'm not scared of mice," you exclaimed. "I'd just like to not accidentally step on any." This earned a giggle. "Well lucky there ain't' a whole lot of mice out during the day." She said, "I don't know much about mice." you admitted. "I know they are annoying little bugs, they got into our pantry last year." She said, You imagined how frustrating that must have been considering food was scarce, but everyone's got to eat somehow.
There was a short silence as the two of you stopped for a moment, within the meadow. It was a lavish lush green, with wildflowers spotting here and there, it smelled like morning dew and pine. You enjoyed the quiet, the hum of the wildlife thriving and the rustling leaves. "Can I ask you something, random?" You asked suddenly, speaking your mind before having spent any time with the words. "Of course." She said, "Do you think love exists for people like us?" you asked. People like us, meaning the vagabonds, the free spirited wanderers, sinners to some.
"Course' I do." Lucy Gray said. "Why?" she questioned. You wanted to deflect any suspicion off yourself. "I was thinking of writing a song," you said. This was half true, you'd thought about writing a love song for her and performing in front of the district, but you weren't nearly as confident as she was with the crowd, and you had only written one other song that Maude Ivory put to a melody. You knew it wasn't as clever as it could have been, but it was harmless.
"A love song?" Lucy Gray cooed. "Don't go all soft on me now," she said with a slight laugh. "Not soft, just honest." you reassured her. Loving like that was frowned upon in district 12, it could get you arrested, beaten or worse. Luckily the only people who would really know would be the covey, who were all accepting and open minded folks, even if they didn't understand something they sure would try. The peacekeepers could force you away from your life if anyone saw. That's why you were thankful for the refuge of the forest to protect your secrets, to keep you both safe.
"I've got some lyrics, I just... need to figure out where Love comes from... It's for the song." you purse your lips, It wasn't that love came from any particular place, but maybe it was because you thought that would make good lyrics. She turns and gives you a thoughtful look for a moment before offering her wisdom and songwriting skills.
"Love can come from anywhere."
She says, crouching in the field, picking a bright yellow dandelion from among the grass and plucking it into her mouth with a soft smile. She plucked another, younger flower and placed it into the basket full of foraged mushrooms, flowers, herbs, and berries. The forest looked upon you as old friends, knowing you both sought refuge and calm in its foliage. The breeze carried through you, providing relief in the humid, warm springtime air full of pollen, the tree branches above reaching over the two of you like a protective pair of arms.
"I don't think it's just between men and women, love comes up all over the place. Like these dandelions. Some people like to pluck 'em' and call them' weeds, but I think there's something special about their perseverance. Maybe you could write about that."
"I think so too." you had said, kneeling down to examine one of the flowers, looking at its delicate petals before picking it to examine further. "why don't we sit for a minute, take a break before bringing this back for the others." Lucy Gray offered, sitting down on a soft bed of grass. "And talk about love?" you cooed, teasing her. She was the star of the Covey, there was no doubt about it, Boys waited for her hand after the shows and it made you somewhat jealous. "Well honey, I could talk about that all day long." she said in a sly tone. She was naturally flirtatious, even if it was something she did to make more money. You fell harder for her as the minutes passed.
Love. Something that held you all together. The covey, the district. It was so cheesy, half-witted, and a lame excuse, but there was truth in it. If you didn't love each other, she wouldn't have helped you miles through the forest telling you jokes and laughing with you while teaching you about different herbs and plants and you wouldn't be helping her forage for her dinner, or taking care of and looking out for the people she held close.
You plopped down on the grass, your feet happy to have some relief. Moments of peace like this were hard to come by these days. Lucy Gray sat next to you, her dress sprawled across the greenery. She sighed and looked up at the birds dancing in the tree branches. She was mesmerizing. You looked away quickly, your eyes catching sight of a deep burgundy wildflower. you leaned forward and reached to pluck the flower, Lucy Gray's eyes following you.
"May I?" you asked, offering the flower to the girl to adorn her hair. Lucy Gray smiled and nodded. You slipped the flower behind her ear, tucking her hair with it. Her dark curls were soft as your fingers brushed across them. "Beautiful," you whispered softly. Lucy Gray flushed pink, or maybe it was the afternoon heat getting to her.
"So, You really think love is everywhere?" You had asked finally, after a moment of rest.
"I do. I love you, the Covey, colors, music..." she had said absent mindedly, gazing up at the trees again, if you listened closely you could hear the wild songbird's melody echo through the forest. You stopped and looked at her, admiring her beauty, though this time not from afar. "You love me?" you asked gently, thought not insecurely. she nodded slowly. "I do, I think." she said, caught off guard by the words, maybe she let that part slip up, but it was the first thing she said and it meant something. It wasn't often you caught the girl tongue-tied.
"Well I love you too, Lucy Gray." You said matter-of-factly and smiled reassuringly. You gazed into her eyes for a moment, she took advantage of this moment to kiss you, melting into her soft warm lips as they embraced. Although the afternoon heat was thick and moist, you felt a rush of cool wash over you as if you had just jumped into the lake. Fireworks, if you had ever seen any. Bliss and happiness.
This, you thought, Is what love feels like.
. . .
Bonus
The crowd is already somewhat drunk, cheering and dancing to The Covey's exciting and soulful music. Maude Ivory takes the mic, standing on a stool to reach it, and greets the crowd with a cheerful "Heyyoo!'
"We've got somethin special, slower, this time." The crowd clammers in anticipation. "This is a love song, so grab your partner and hold em' close!" she exclaims. "Here is the beautiful talented, Lucy Gray."
Lucy Gray wanders up to the stage, now in a deep red dress, with a flower crown woven into her hair. Her cheeks are rough and lips plum and red. "This is for someone special in the crowd tonight," she says with a short breath sitting herself in front of the mic with her old acoustic guitar. "And I'm sorry honey but I stole your song idea." She said with a chuckle. In a moment, she began strumming her guitar gently, a romantic but sincere melody.
Love can come from anywhere, In the dark, or in the light, In the simplest moments shared, When the stars are shining bright. From a dance on a wooden floor, To a kiss beneath the moon, Love can come from anywhere, And I found it way too soon. You wore that worn-out shirt, With the scent of pine and rain, We talked about our dreams and hurts, And life felt like a sweet refrain. I remember that soft bright smile, Where the air was filled with hope, Your laugh, like sunshine in the dark, Wrapped me in warmth Love can come from anywhere, In the dark, or in the light, In the simplest moments shared, When the stars are shining bright. Even on my darkest, darkest nights, I'm glad it found us.

It's always been you - JJ Maybank X Reader
Prompt: Always telling each other everything, sharing secrets and dreams late into the night, but suddenly their secrets become about each other and their feelings
The marsh was quiet. The air was warm and moist, blowing a gentle breeze through your hair. The water was buzzing with life, and the marsh creatures were all going about their habitual routines. You sighed you JJ finished his joint. He sat next to you with his feet hanging off the dock, yours were crossed with your hands in your lap as you turned to JJ, your long time best friend.
"How's that girl doing- what was her name again?" you asked. "Maya? or Melanie- No Melody!" you corrected yourself. JJ chuckled, fiddling with the roach in his fingers after he had blunted the embers away, the smoke trail ceasing. "Mel," he corrected you. "And she turned out to be a huge kook, not really my style." he shrugged half-heartedly. You knew each other so well that he could tell when you were scared, uncomfortable, or tired just with a glance, and you returned the favor by looking out for him. You could tell when he was anxious or too angry.
"A kook? working at the seafood shack?" you stated, rather than questioned. He shrugged again. "Said her parents wouldn't give her allowance money anymore." He explained. "I can't imagine having an allowance," you said honestly. You were Pogues, money wasn't in excessive abundance for the two of you the way it was for some.
"It seemed like she just wanted to piss off her parents by being seen with my anyway," he said somewhat sadly. "I'm not exactly boyfriend material," he joked. "I don't know what you mean," you said
JJ bit his lip and nodded slightly. "I dunno. doesn't matter," he dismissed. You looked out into the dark, murky water that was illuminated by the moonlight, watching the side slowly wax and wane. "Can I ask you something?" you said, not wanting to sound foolish.
"Shoot." he said, gently swinging his feet. you began slowly, hesitantly. "I kind of like this guy," you admitted, thankful the evening masked the flush on your cheeks. "It's so dumb. like major cheesy..." JJ smirked and looked at you. "Yeah?" he nodded, watching attentively as you spoke. "Yeah, so I'm wondering, from your perspective, is it weird if I ask him out?" you asked.
"No, I mean, sometimes guys like that stuff." JJ said cocking his head slightly.
"Do you?" the words slipped out. "I mean would you like it if a girl asked you out first." you tried to clarify, to deflect suspicion.
"If it was the right girl, then yeah," he said, very matter of fact.
You nodded. "Who are ya tryin' to ask out?" he followed up. You shook your head in dismissal. "No one, it was just a thought. You don't know him. we've been friends since like- kindergarten or something." you said, JJ seemed unconvinced. "well he'd be a lucky son of a bitch. No one can say no to you," he said.
You smiled slightly. "you really think so?" you asked softly.
"I know it." JJ insisted. He smiled slightly to himself, and for a brief moment, you guys matched, locking eyes, though you weren't sure if he meant it platonically, or if he thought you'd make a good girlfriend. You pushed the disheartened feeling away.
The two of you were always incredibly honest with each other. He had come to you on his worst days, and in return, he had seen you in pretty rough shape over the years. You just wanted him to be happy, and you were scared that falling in love with him would ruin that. You had no idea how he felt.
"Aaannnnd," he said in a somewhat goofy, exaggerated tone in an attempt to diffuse the slight tension. "Since we're giving each other advice, I also kind of need help with somethin' like this." You nodded, ready to hear about whatever attractive surfer girl he was probably pining over. "Well, I'm glad you came to me instead of John B this time," you snickered.
"Yeah, so um." JJ reached his hand up, running his fingers through his golden hair.
"There's this girl. . ." He began, gazing out at the water as he spoke. She is just amazing. She's really cute, and funny and sweet. She really understands me, like, I don't feel alone around her." he said, clutching his chest for a short moment. Your heart sank. you weren't quite following.
"I'm scared she only sees me as a friend, and that really hurts," he said, his tone shifting. "But I really like this girl. it's not the same as the other girls on the island. I want to see her laugh, smile, and cry. Thing is though," he says. "I think she deserves so much better than me, or anything I could ever give her."
The words hung in the air; you wanted to choke out a sob and go listen to songs about unrequited love, but you stayed. " . . . I think you should tell her all of that. Be honest." you said finally after a thoughtful pause. JJ nodded, maybe its the lingering high or something in the air. Suddenly, it hits you. It was always you. you are the girl. He was talking about you.
there you were, dancing across the line that needed to be crossed to venture from friends to lovers. "Jay," you said softly, leaning closer to him. "Can I kiss you?" he asked. you were shocked but smiled and nodded. "Yeah," you said.
Your lips collided, and you melted into the embrace, a moment you'd been dreaming of for so long, his soft lips grazing yours while your fingers found themselves combing through his soft hair. You pulled away after what felt like an eternity.
You pulled away, and JJ's body language relaxed again. "So is this Kindergarten guy of yours going to give me any problems?" he said, poking fun at your confession, somewhat seriousness in his tone.
You laughed and smacked his arm. "JJ, I was talking about you," you exclaimed with a light hearted laugh. "Oh yeah, okay, good." he nodded. "Had to be sure," he said in a sly tone. For another hour or two, you sat there and talked about things, the same way you had before, this time a special loving connection blossoming from the pre-existing friendship. You found yourself sleepy, resting your head on his shoulder, with his arm snaked around you.
Eventually, you found yourselves back to the house, where a comfy hammock overlooking the water awaited, not wanting to wake the rest of the house but still wanting some privacy. JJ offered you his hoodie, which swallowed you up as the two of you cuddled on the hommock, limbs entangled.
When the sun rose finally, It was early, and the house was quiet. Pope had wandered outside the house with some fishing gear. Having left the front door open while moving things, he saw the two figured in the hammock fast asleep and he froze. He quickly sat the fishing gear down, in rush searching for John B.
John B followed Pope back outside, and he chuckled. "you owe me $50." Pope said with a smirk. John B rolled his eyes. "fine." he said reaching for his wallet.

It's not much but its family. - Coriolanus Snow X Reader
summary: Coryo taking you home to meet Grandma'am and Tigris.
A/N: Been writing for these characters lately to heal my inner middle school self. I am lowkey a snow hater after reading Ballad, but I am trying and my friend had this idea and it was born. Probably out of character but whatever.
You straightened out the hem of your dress again, a soft floral gown. You weren't a fashionista by any means, but you wanted to make a good impression, considering Coriolanus had told you his cousin was very stylish you had picked the magenta dress with the floral print that hugged your figure just right. A trendy dress that costed too much money.
After roughing over your dress's hem, your hands re-fixed your hair, nervously fidgeting with the ends. Coriolanus stopped and turned towards you as the two of you stood outside the building where the snow family resided.
"Hey," he said softly, brushing a stray hair behind your eyes. "You look amazing. They'll love you, I'm sure." He reassured you. "I'm a little nervous." you confessed. "Don't be. Tigris will fall in love with you just as quickly as I have, and Grandma'am is charming, in her own way." He explained, still sensing your unease.
You took a deep breath and squeezed his hand. The two of you progressed forward, up into the building and to the front door, where Coriolanus had interlocked his arm with yours. He opened the door to the suite and called out for his family.
You entered the foyer, where Grandma'am, whom you had heard so much about sat with a cup of tea, she greeted you with a soft smile. "You must me Y/N," Tigris chimed with a sweet smile, extending her hand for you to shake. "I'm Tigris," she said sheepishly.
Coriolanus turned to you. "This is an important moment for us," Coriolanus said. "I thought it was time I bring her around," he stated. he sounded so official, stoic.
"Well, Coriolanus," Grandma'am spoke. "She certainly is beautiful I see why you speak of her so highly." She said, You flushed pink. The two of you were classmates at the academy, and he had grown fond of you quickly, clinging to your curiously. It turned into a budding romance, which was moving fast though you didn't mind at all.
"Would you like some tea?" Tigris offered, you politely declined. "Well don't be shy if you change your mind I'm happy to make more for you." she said in her softness. "I absoluetly love your dress by the way." she said excitedly.
Tigris and you had spiraled into a conversation that felt like gibberish for Coriolanus, who wasn't well versed in the high fashion of the Capitol, and didn't care for fancy dresses in the way his cousin does.
"Dinner is almost ready if you'd like to help set the table." Tigris finally offered, putting the boy to use. He had been nervous himself, though he would not have admitted it, but now he felt eased knowing that the three of you got along just fine.
Corio set the table, with the nice placemats and dishes, he was slightly embarrassed they didn't have finer dining china, but he knew you were more than understanding.
For dinner, Tigris had made a delicious lima bean soup with ham broth, and you were now relaxed enough to be hungry, The four of you beginning the meal with a respectable nature.
"This is wonderful," you said after your first mouthful of the hot liquid. Corio sat next to you, giggling as some dripped down your mouth, embarrassed you reached for your napkin, but he already had his gently dabbing away at your skin. "It's an old recipe, not much, but it's very filling," Tigris said modestly. "Thank you for cooking, I'm not much of a cook myself." you said.
"Well I am not a chef, but I do what I have to." Tigris added.
"She made a delectable tart last week with some berries I picked up. She's only being modest." Coriolanus said. Grandma'am contributed to the conversation here or there, but you felt her eyes piercing through you.
"Well, either way, Tigris thank you for preparing dinner for us." you said politely. "Yes, Tigris, thank you." Coriolanus added. She nodded and smiled, happy that everyone was enjoying her meal, more so that the family was together again. The tension felt less heavy, and you felt more comfortable the longer the night went on.
After dinner, you spent the evening chatting away, The cousins shared a few memories from their childhood and you smiled happy to hear about them, even Grandma'am had shared a few quips.
After a while you excused yourself to the restroom, and closed the door behind you with an exhale of relief. Coriolanus looked at his cousin, waiting for an approval, since the conversation had gone better than he had anticipated, and everyone's mood was elevated.
"she is just lovely, coryo." Tigris whispered, knowing it was rude to whisper about dinner guests while they relived themselves, but knowing the her cousin would appreciate the sentiment.
"She will make a fine wife one day, she could carry on your legacy." Grandma'am brought up. Coriolanus hadn't thought of it in that way just yet, about your future together, but it sparked something in him, something happy.
He had his eyes on you since he first saw you in class, and he had been magnetized to you ever since, using his charming ways to explore you even further. He felt assured, and confident now.
"You should take her to the garden, It would be so romantic," she whispered so cheerily." That was a good idea, he would save that for later certainly.
The bathroom door creaked open and you rejoined the group, sitting in your seat next to coriolanus. "Well, it's getting late, my dear," Grandma'am said. "I'd best be off to bed," she smiled, excusing herself. "It was great to meet you," you said softly. she smiled and uttered a soft "Likewise."
As Grandma'am shuffled to her bedroom, the cousins stared at one another, Tigris wanted to kick Coriolanus under the table, her eyes were screaming to him, but he didn't know what it meant. "I am going to tidy up the kitchen." she said standing from her seat and pushing the chair under the table. "I'm happy to help," you offered.
Tigris turned to you, "Oh no please, I could never make a guest help clean," she said, wandering off. she leaned closer, barely containing her excitement. She was such a sucker for a lover story. "I think Corio wants to show you something special." she said, they shared another glance.
He didn't want Tigris to have to be his wingman, but he was thankful. "Yes," he nodded and turned to you. "Would you like to see our rose garden?" he asked. you nodded slowly. He ushered you up to the rooftop while Tigris tidied the remnants of dinner.
As you approached the rooftop garden, the cool air hit your skin and the evening glow of the moonlight illuminated the space. There were several rows a pristine roses growing from small planting pots. It was impressive, You didn't know the snows had a green thumb. The sweet fluttery scent of their pedals flooded your senses and you walked forward, just beyond them was a gorgeous view of the city, illuminated by various lights and bustling streets below.
"This is beautiful," you exhaled softly. Coriolanus stood beside you and took your hands. You sighed again, as he caught your gaze.
"I hope they liked me," you said.
"They loved you," he said softly with a chuckle. "I have not seen Tigris that happy in a long time. and she loved your dress," he offered. you nodded swiftly.
"It's quiet up here." you said slowly, hearing the city buzzing with life. "I come up here sometimes to think," he said.
"Thank you for coming home with me tonight." he said, he didn't let many people in the way he had with you, but when he did, it was special. "Of course," you said, gazing into his eyes, admiring his soft curls.
"And, I think Grandma'am really likes me." you said now, in a more playful manner. "She said i'd be a good wife.." you trailed off flushing at the thought, Mrs. Snow, you both thought.
"Well give me a few years," he chuckled. "If you're going to be my wife, I'd like to get you something nice." You giggled at the thought, being married, spending forever with him.
You wrapped your arms around him loosely, embracing each other. "Well until then," you said keeping up the playful and heartwarming banter. "Maybe I could learn some of those family recipes for you." you said.
Coriolanus flushed, the thought of you with a ring on your finger, so irrevocably his... he was lost in the daydream, and pulled back into reality by your soft lips, which embraced with his. He melted into your embrace, his heart racing. You pulled back, resting your forehead on his, gazing at his soft features illuminated in the moonlight glow.
You stayed like that for what felt like eternity.

Falling in love all over again. - Finnick Odair X Reader
Summary: Finnick is with you while you recover in District Thirteen.
A/N: Re-reading the hunger games series and I just love Finnick.. I couldn't resist. Feminine pronouns for reader. Takes place during mockingjay. Reader is rescued from the Capitol.
Angst! Fluff
Your shrieks haunted the halls of the District 13 hospital. Guttural, vile in nature. Finnick found himself rushing to the source of the sounds. while terrified, he pushed forward, disregarding the voices that shouted at him to stop, pushing past the security team that tried to stop his efforts. Finnick was strong, making it through the barricade of people without any serious casualties.
He emerged into the room where you had just woken up from sedation, and his heart ached immensely. The sight of you there, thrashing against your restraints. You looked drained of color, nutrients, and life. Emaciated and with a raspy, hoarse voice, you still shouted, convinced you were going to be tortured again. convinced that the doctors were going to hurt you, that the excruciating pain might never go away.
Finnick stopped himself; security had grabbed his arm and gently urged him to leave the room. The doctors were saying you would need time, which was something Finnick felt he did not have a lot left to spare. He choked, standing there watching you struggle. You hadn't even noticed him, until you did. Your eyes locked onto his.
For a moment you saw something comforting, something real in Finnick's eyes, but the capitol's torture methods took over you, the distorted images of him hurting you came back and your body recoiled. You shrieked louder, thrashing in your restraints, distressed. Finnick felt a piece of him breaking.
"Please, Sir," a strong voice urged.
"She needs space,"
He finally complied with Security's plead to get him to leave, not wanting to cause you any further harm. As they escorted him out of the hall, he choked out sobs, and the hot tears ran down his cheeks.
. . . .
Finnick found himself back by your room, unable to sleep. He had fallen asleep for a short time with his back leaning against the wall by the door, woken suddenly when a doctor had opened it and stepped out into the hall. Finnick quickly swept up onto his feet.
"How is she?" he asked, wanting to barge in there, to see you, hold you, and tell you it was okay. but he didn't want to cause you any distress. He was terrified for your recovery and worried everyday for you after seeing what they'd done to Peeta.
"She is stable." the doctor said, taking a short breathe. "We need you to be patient." he continued. "Recovery will have its ups and downs, and we will do everything we can..."
Finnick's heart raced. The doctor made it seem like you would never come back. "When can I see her?- Can I please just sit with her?" he asked. The doctor gave a sympathetic look.
"In a few hours, when she wakes again, we can allow you visitation."
Finnick nodded, he knew he had to wait, but he still longed for you.
"It's best if both of you are well rested when you visit, " the doctor said, offering a comforting hand to Finnick's shoulder and giving him a squeeze. "I'm staying here." Finnick insisted. The doctor gave a soft sigh. "Very well." he said, nodding at him.
Finnick sat with his back to the same wall by your door all night, softly dozing to sleep for a several hours when exhaustion overtook him.
In the morning, the hustle of the nurses and doctors woke him, and his eyes fluttered open softly. He rose back up to his feet quickly when he heard the faintest calling of his name.
"Finnick," you sounded rough, you had lost your voice almost entirely.
The door slid open, and he stood in the doorway. You came too, fully, your brain feeling unclear. you stared, now conscious looking at the figure. He was unarmed. That's the first thing you noticed. You looked at him in confusion as he cautiously and gently approached you.
He sat by your bedside and looked at you; his sea colored eyes were glazed over, filled with worry and fear. A strange feeling came over you. Finnick said your name so tenderly, so gently, barely above a whisper. Do I know him? did he hurt me? Is this real? you thought. He reached his hand out to set it on your own, but you pulled away and flinched as if he was going to strike you. Finnick pulled away quickly, the movement startling you more.
They had done unthinkable things to you, and it hurt him to know that they had distorted your image of him, that they had taken the sweetest, kindest person you loved and twisted them into some kind of monster. Your memory of Finnick was vague, plagued by images of violence that felt blurry. Deep down he knew that there had to be the same girl he fell in love with somewhere in there.
He took a step back, noticing your distress. "It's okay, you're safe." He said softly. "Who are you!" you spat, anxiety rising in your chest.
"I want to go home!" you shouted.
This alerted the attention of one of the nurses, who came over and administered some kind of medicine. The liquid quickly entered your system, and you dozed back off to being half awake, mumbling and uttering unintelligible words while the nurse checked your vitals.
The nurse turned to Finnick, apologizing.
. . . .
You can hear them coming. Mutts. They stamp onto the arena's grounds furiously, and you are out running them, just barely until they catch up with you are the group. First, they tear apart Peeta, Katniss' shrill cries haunt you, then they devour her, and you turn to see the rest of your friends being attacked by the mutated beasts.
You run, your feet carrying you far enough that you are in a small wooden shack, something that's safer than being out in the open. The beasts rack the walls, beating against the now locked door, as you notice Finnick emerge from the shadows. His eyes are different. he looks cold, sober, and menacing. He lets out a growl and lunges towards you, tackling you to the ground.
His hands hold you down, finding their way to your neck as they begin restricting your airway. His expression is void of emotions. His hands feel cool, and his calloused fingers force bruises on your skin. You struggle against him, begging for your life . . .
After one week of recovery, the nightmares begin to plague you. That was the first of many to come. You woke up with a gasp, desperately trashing and trying to save yourself, Once you realize where you are, you try to rationalize with yourself. You gasp, unable to catch your breath, feeling you neck as if you are hurt, and upon examining yourself, there are no bruises. It had to have been a dream.
Finnick appeared at your bedside, scared to touch you and agitate you more, "Hey, hey," he cooed, his voice was soothing. you felt conflicted, the man in your dreams had eyes devoid of color, and Finnick's were the color of the sea, remaining calm, concerned.
"It was just a dream, you're safe." He said softly.
"You," you managed to rasp out between hyperventilation.
"You tried to hurt me," you said, tears now spilling from your eyes.
"No, love, It was a bad dream. I would never lay a hand on you." he said gently, he was being patient. It was clear to you now that he did not intend to hurt you, because if we was going to he would have tried before the nurses came rushing in to check on your heart monitor that was making a raging beeping noise.
Finnick stood by your side, looking at you with worry.
"You're okay, just try to get some more rest." the nurse said. You nodded, exhaustion once again taking you as you rested your head back against the pillow. Whatever sedatives they had you taking were working well, lulling back into a slumber, hopefully this time without nightmares.
. . . .
After another week you hadn't been sleeping well now relying on the sedatives too heavily, with fear the images from the nightmares would take you out of reality again, each one more painful than the last.
Your eyes fluttered open, nothing too bad this time. The room was dimly lit, it had to be at least midnight. The halls were quiet, your restraints were still there, for your own good, the doctors had said the previous day. You attention was drawn to the gentle snoring of the man sitting in the chair in the corner of the room.
You looked at him and a sickly familiar feeling came across your chest. There was something about watching his chest gently rising and falling in his uncomfortable-looking sleeping position that seemed unthreatening.
You gazed at him, a glimpse of a memory surfacing, you could remember him, you couldn't quite place where you were, but you were standing in water and the sensation of the cool lapping waves against your body somehow felt like home. It calmed you. He was there, you recognized him, a vague figure standing with you in the water. No strangulation, no weapons, just standing in the water in his arms. You couldn't tell if that was real or not, but it seemed happy, calming, the first decent memory you had in a long time.
After a while, you warmed up to his presence, watching him sleeping, you were far too weak to do much else. you still hadn't determined if the memory was real or not.
His eyes fluttered open, and he noticed you were awake.
"Hi sweetheart," he said sheepishly with a yawn.
"Did you get some sleep?" he asked you. you reluctantly shook your head. "I can't sleep," you said, your voice was low, still scratchy but a vast improvement from before.
"Do you want me to stay up with you?" he asked. you waited, hesitating for a long time, before nodding honestly. It was nice to have another person near you, even if you weren't entirely sure who they were, you were beginning to see him as a non threat. baby steps.
After another bout of silence, your voice carried across the quiet room. "I can't tell what's real anymore," you confessed. Finnick frowned. "You don't have to right now," he said. "All you should know right now is that you're safe, and I'm here." he said. you felt comforted.
The two of you stayed up for a while, and he stayed up to watch over you as you stared at the ceiling for a while, contemplating everything, before finally feeling relaxed enough to rest again.
. . . .
After that night, you felt more comfortable, and would sometimes laugh at a small joke Finnick would make. You had even warmed up enough to allow him to sit closer to you, and after several weeks, you allowed him to hold your hand. His felt soft and warm, nothing like the memory of his hands you weren't sure you could trust.
One month of treatment and therapy and conditioning. you were starting to feel somewhat like your old self. Somewhat normal, despite your questioning of your own memory. The doctors had helped you work out ways of differentiating your memories from what was real. It was tough. It felt like a daily battle. But at least now you had someone to tell you what was real, and what was not.
Your eyes fluttered open that morning to see Finnick in the chair in by your bed, flipping through the pages of some novel he had found, pretending to read the page, skimming the words but not really reading them. He noticed your gaze and smiled softly.
"Good morning, love." he said in a quiet voice.
"Hi." you said.
Finnick just stared, admiring your beauty, yearning to have you back. He was beyond thankful you were alive and here with him, so now he focusses all his energy on your recovery.
You were lost in your thoughts for a long while. The memory of the two of you in the water kept resurfacing. Bits and pieces came back to you as time passed, now you were able to form a somewhat coherent image.
you were in his arms, on the beach, back home, in District 4. He held you while humming a gentle song in your ear, the waves pushing and pulling against your bodies, gently complementing Finnick's melody. The safe feeling warmed your whole body, and you felt a love surround you. The gentle sea breeze combing through your hair, the smell of the sea flooding your senses...
"Can I ask you a question?" you spoke suddenly. Finnick leaned forward in his chair. "Of course," he said honestly.
"I think," you said, still unsure of the memories.
"I think you loved me."
the words hung in the air softly and fell upon Finnick like a melody.
"That's not quite right," he said. you gazed at him in confusion. "I Love you. still, always," he said. "No matter what happens." he smiled at you, wanting to cry.
"I love you," Finnick said softly, brushing a piece of hair from your face. "That is real." he said. you nodded, this time initiating contact and placing your hand over his. There was a mutual understanding that day.
"Everything is so fuzzy," you begin.
"But I remember being in the sea with you, back home, I think."
Finnick nodded. "Is that real?" you asked him, gazing into his eyes, the same ones from the memory that brought you comfort now, even if you couldn't remember much else or any other context. It came back in fragmented parts. "Yes," Finnick said without hesitation. "I remember it too."
"That was the first time I realized I was in love with you." he said. you took his word for it, why would he lie? "We had just met up when I had come home from the games; we were so young." He continued on, as you listened to his story, eager like a child to hear more.
"You told me you were scared that you'd never see me again, and you were happy I was home." You smiled softly, tears filling your eyes, flooding with a warming, loving feeling. "And I said to you," he stopped himself, smiling softly, tears gently falling from his cheeks. he hesitated, but your memory became a brighter beacon now, and you finished his sentence for him.
"I'll always come home to you."
The words caused Finnick to sob. he nodded, taking your hand and gently caressing your bony hands with his fingers.
"I'm so sorry they took you." he said with a bit of guilt.
"It's not your fault," you whispered gently.
"I thought the Capitol had taken you from me. I almost lost hope." He confessed. you stayed quiet for a moment.
"Finn?" you uttered softly; his heart fluttered when you said his nickname. "Yes, love," he exhaled, wiping his tears away.
"Will you hold me?"
and with that, Finnick situated himself on the bed next to you, close enough he could hear your heartbeat. You laid your head on his chest, that warm feeling flooding over you again. You finally felt safety, comfort and content. You realized you had all you needed.

Summary: A drunken valentines day confession from Theo.
Short story, quick writing, Happy valentines day.
The music was nearly shaking the walls of the Slytherin dungeon, un upbeat and fast pace with whimsical lyrics easy to follow. Feet danced around to each drop of the beat, drinks cluttered the space and students chartered loudly to hear each other over the music. The Valentine's day party was a good mix, with a few couples there to gloat about their love in front of everyone with lips interlocked, and bitter singles drinking and dancing with anyone who would have them.
You found yourself there, anyway. Despite the affiliation with the affection themed holiday, you just wanted to see Theo, your friends, his friends. To simply enjoy an evening. Your first and second drink were a fruity concoction, something that tasted sweet, and the third something much more bitter. After some time, your limbs grew tired of dancing, and your eyes scanned the room in search of the familiar brunette boy who you had grown fond of. When you fell short, you were disappointed, but decided to check one of the places he might be.
Outside, the breeze was chilly, causing you to shiver and your bones shake. Winter air was never pleasant, but you expected to find your friend outside there, and sure enough he was tucked away in a corridor not far from the common room. It was quiet, a harsh contrast to the loud chatter and music you had become used to.
"Hi," You said softly.
Theo turned, a half burnt down cigarette was between his fingers, his other hand in his pocket. "Hey," he said, trying to be coy, but to be truthful you made him blush and feel warm inside. "You shouldn't be out here, it's so cold," he said. you shrugged. Before you could say any more, Theo had shrugged off his jacket, placing the cigarette between his lips as a placeholder, then he turned and offered it to you. You didn't want to refuse, so you accepted. He draped the lightweight coat over your shoulders, the warmth from his body residual and embracing you.
"Thanks," you said softly. You could tell the boy had been drinking, he usually smoked a lot when he drank. Those skinny muggle cigarettes. "Are you Okay?" you had asked, he seemed a bit off but you werent the one to pry.
"No," he said, you frowned. "What's wrong?"
He took a long drag, and sighed a huge exhale. "I'm stuck on something.." he said finally, muttering something under his breath you couldn't quite catch. Theo sighed. He seemed annoyed at something or someone, himself. "I just," he began, shuffling his feet. "I'm really sorry I can't say it sober," he said, clearing his throat. "I'm no brave ole gryffindor, you know me..." he mumbled.
You hated that he dragged on, that he couldn't say whatever it was. part of you was nervous, or maybe scared. You pulled his jacket tighter around yourself, giving him the space he needed."I'm just going to say it," he agreed with himself, clearing the air, the tension between you was apparent.
"You are all I ever wanted, and I get so happy when you talk to me. . . and I really want to hold your hand- to kiss you, like everyday." he went on, your cheeks flushed red.
"I'm sorry I should be sober for this but I didn't know how else to say it."
The words hung in the air. "Theo," you stepped forward towards him, he looked like a pitiful puppy, drunk and confessing his love like that. It made you feel warm. "We can talk about this when you're sober." you said softly. "How about you start by walking me back to my dorm?" you asked. He nodded, discarding his cigarette. He wasn't drunk enough to wobble, or slur his words, but seeing you had sobering him up a bit. He smiled. "That sounds nice." You grabbed his hand and intertwined fingers as you began to walk. The beginning of a beautiful relationship was just starting to bloom.

Summary: A Valentines date with JJ.
Blurb/Oneshot, short story, a little messy did not proofread.
February 14. The breeze was carried all the way through the dancing palm trees, a warm humidity embraced everything as the evening came along, making the katydids sing their Melody. The perfect evening for romance, sure it was cliche but you didn’t mind the fuzzy feeling. You took a deep breath of fresh air and scent of the sea filled your senses. You were wearing a a flirty sundress with sunflowers scattered across the fabric, the fabric fell at your thighs loosely, only suggesting what was underneath. You were heading to a date, with yours truly, your adoring boyfriend JJ Maybank. You weren’t expecting an expensive dinner, or extravagant gifts today, just seeing him was enough.
He had told you to meet him at the dock, and the wooden boards creaked as the marshlands welcomed you, greeting you at the end of the doc JJ smirked. “Hey Baby,” he said tenderly, you walked up to him excitedly. “Hi JJ,” you chimed. There was a modest sailboat behind him, with fairy lights strung all around the rails, it twinkled almost matching the moonlight that now shined on the two of you. You stood facing him. “What’s all this?” You said. “Just a surprise,” he said trying to act modest. “It’s not much but I do what I can for my girl.” He said, your arms reached up and found his, fingers embracing. You giggled softly.
JJ hopped aboard, taking your hand as he reached for yours to welcome you onto the boat as well. He led you down into a small cabin, illuminated by candlelight, with the table set with bright red flowers and beer on the table, chocolate strawberries and all. It was funny, considering you had joked with Sarah just earlier that day about wanting to receive chocolate covered strawberries and a romantic massage for Valentine’s Day.
“JayJ,” you said in a soft exhale. “This is beautiful.” He stepped towards you, pushing the hair behind your ear. “This is nothin’.” He said. “I think you look beautiful tonight.” He said exaggerating the word like it was some exotic words that hung on the top of his tongue. “And this dress…” he said, as you leaned on the counter his hand found your waist gently resting on the soft fabric while his thumb brushed over it. “We have to do something about this dress,” he smirked inches apart you smiled into his lips, then pulled back toying with him. “What’s wrong with my dress?” You quipped.
“Nah,” he clicked his lips together, you gazed into his eyes, mesmerized, his blond hair falling in his face in a mess. Your fingers found their way though it, something he wouldn’t admit he loved. “This dress has got to go,” he shook his head his flirty banter making your knees weak. He was such a sweetheart, so loving and romantic. “You don’t like it?” You chuckled softly. “I think you should take it off…” he said biting his lip. Your knees became complete putty. His fingers slipped lower until they snuck their way up underneath your dress, a few inches from your underwear.
“Jay, dinner first.” You said sternly. “Fine,” he said pulling away, “you know if do anything for you,” he said with a chuckle. “In fact, I spent an hour coating these bad boys in a chocolate sauce,” he said popping one of the strawberries in his mouth. “My hard work paid off, delicious,” he said with chocolate melted to lip his. You giggled. “What?” He asked, “you want one?” He said offering you one of his gourmet strawberries, holding it out for you. You took a bite, your eyes lit up immediately. It was those juicy perfectly ripe strawberries from the farmers market. Someone had been stalking your Pinterest… JJ popped another in his mouth, smearing a bit of the dark goo on his lip again.
“J, you’ve got a little chocolate, uh right there,” you said in a seductive way, playing along with the banter. He was such a flirt. “Where?” He cooed. “Right, there…” you said, bravely stepping forward and kissing him again, you couldn’t get enough of his touch. His warm hand found it’s way to the small of your back as your lips intertwined, it meant you were safe, he’s got you. You felt loved, and adored by his gesture.
. . .
Insert your favorite smut here.
Your head rested on JJs head as his soft hoodie covered your chilly body as you sat at the nose of the sail boat, you watched as the joint JJ had lit painted a warm glow across his face and the puffs of smoke that erupted from his mouth after, he offered it to you and you took a few small hits, admiring him.
He caught on, and looked at you with loving eyes. “What?” You giggled. “I love you.” He had said. That was the first time he uttered those words to you, and it would not be the last.

Like the movies - Theodore Nott X Reader
Summary: Ex lovers meet again and rekindle the romance they once had.
Fluff, Older!Theo, Post graduation
A/N: this is based on a cheesy hallmark christmas movie I watched a while ago. this fic will be fluffy, but also kind of cheesy so be warned. No mentions of book canon events (like the battle at Hogwarts) Italics are flashbacks or letters.
The busy streets murmured with chatter and the sounds of footsteps. It was like any other day, It was the midday rush. Witches and wizards scurried past you to get their afternoon coffees and quick to-go lunches in between their snobby ministry jobs, men in nice suits and colorful ties and women in heels. The perfect setting for the busy city. The rough cobblestone streets threatened your ankles with every step, but you were used to them so much that you could walk quickly in a rhythm with them. You exhaled a soft pillow of air from your lungs, watching it sail away in the cold air. It was a bit windy, with an unexpected chill. Your fingertips felt cold so you buried them into your coat pockets seeking warmth, decidedly finding refuge from the chatter of the street in a small coffee shop. The warmth immediately embraced you and it was a sweet relief. You recognized the scent of fresh bread and pastries, standing in line to order yourself a hot tea to beat the cold, maybe a croissant if they had one.
The usual crowd was there, people for business meetings, mothers grabbing a quick bite, and servers busing tables and wiping down surfaces. As you wandered up, you noticed something. A tall man stood in front of you with a beanie, you couldn't quite read the menu from behind him. He stood next to a blonde woman who held onto his arm. His cologne... you knew that scent. You couldn't possibly miss it. It was Theodore Nott. He had turned around, as if on cue, to meet your eyes, surprised to see it was really you. He smiled softly, although at first his mouth was agape for a short moment in shock. You looked even better than you did when he had seen you at school last.
In that moment, all the memories flooded the both of you. Soft touches, running your fingers through his soft hair, The candlelight anniversary you spent in the astronomy tower, kissing on the Hogwarts express to make up for lost time after not seeing each other over the summer, skinny dipping in the black lake, sneaking around the corridors at night. It felt like reliving a romantic novel, nostalgic and sweet like candy. it was starting to make you wonder why you had ever broken up in the first place. But then you remembered the harsh reality in front of you. He was clearly with a woman, maybe his girlfriend, or his wife. You had no clue. He had moved on from you, that was that. Despite all these emotions, you were honest with yourself. It was still good to see him after all this time.
"Hi." he said gently. "Hi," you replied. The woman by his arm looked confused "Teds, who is this?" she asked. Ted. you knew he hated when people called him ted. "This... This is Y/N." he said. "A friend from school." He said. you smiled. "It's good to see you!" you chimed. The woman put herself between the two of you, "I'm Mel, Ted's fiance." She said with a quirky smile. She did not seem bothered by you, but she was curious, and it was clear you must have been a soft spot for you based on what she had said next. "I recognize you," she said, tilting her head. "You are in that picture on our wall, all dressed up in quidditch gear." You know which picture she is referring to, because you have a copy of the same photograph. It makes you elated to know he still has your picture up on the wall after all this time. "Well it's good to finally meet you," she smiled sweetly. "I studied in America but I love seeing what school life was like for Hogwarts alumni." The woman said, her blonde curls bounced when she turned her head towards theo. "Maybe we could get a coffee together sometimes? I didn't know you were in town." He said. You nodded. You never really left. "That would be nice, you know where to find me," you chuckled softly. "Aww, it'll be like a reunion!" Mel chirped. The couple in front of you turned and ordered their drinks, and you did the same right after them. Once your drink was ready, an herbal tea, you rushed out the door to get some air.
You were in slight disbelief, but you had heard from a professor once that love would find its way back to you if it was meant to be.
. . . . . .
Nostalgia had hit you the next day, you woke up and stayed in bed for a while, turning over every memory in your mind from your school days that seemed so far away yet just like they had happened yesterday at the same time. You crawled over the edge of your bed, grabbing a small shoe box. you sat up and slowly opened the cardboard lid to reveal a gathering of photographs and trinkets. You saw the same photograph Mel had mentioned seeing you in, your thumb running over the glossy surface of the photograph lightly. Then, another photograph, you remembered Pansy Parkinson had taken the picture and said with a big smile "Cheers to the handsome couple!", in which Theo was sat down and you had your arms around him from behind, you smiled at the camera while he had his eyes on you with a smirk. Another photo was a group class photo, all your classmates and friends. Another photo was you and Theo the night of the yule ball, dressed in your nicest robes and Theo with a bowtie to match your dress, you were hugging his side tightly while his arm was around you. The nostalgic ache returned in your stomach as you felt a longing for your lost days. There was Theo's old Slytherin class ring he had given you as a promise ring, the shiny silver and emerald gem held up nicely over the years. And there was a beaded friendship bracelet from your best friend in there. It was full of fond memories, and a tender feeling overwhelmed you until your fingers had led you to a small, thick envelope full of parchment.
It was a letter, enchanted by the smell of rose. It had slightly smeared, navy ink in messy handwriting on it. The nostalgic feeling became a bit too overwhelming, so you had to take a deep breath as you contemplated tossing the letter back in the box and never opening it again, or reading the sentiments it contained. you decided on the later, slowly unfolding the parchment with a crinkle sound, greeted by familiar messy cursive penmanship.
Y/N, I can't wait to see you again. I have some news. My father is taking me to Italy after graduation. I would love to take you with me. He says he has an opportunity lined up for me to work there. He said he wants me to attend college there, like he and my grandfather have done. There's so many beautiful things there to see, and I want to have you by my side for all of it. I've missed you so much this summer, each one feels like an eternity without you. I have my mothers ring, I want you to have it and wear it when I see you again. I want to marry you, and wake up next to you every day. I want to start a life together. I cannot wait until we can start our lives together officially. I love you. so much. We will catch up when I see you again in the coming weeks. - With love, your teddy.
After reading the letter, tears welled in your eyes, and you would have cried for an hour if it weren't for your responsibilities calling you. It ached to know he had moved on, that he had found someone else. You felt like you had just been left behind, and it pained you to know that under different circumstances, maybe, you would have married him and gone with him on his travels. But the thought of Mel wearing his mothers ring just did not sit right with you, and it was hard to be truly happy for them. You wanted whatever was best for him, even now.
. . . . . .
Weeks had passed, and Theodore had contemplated dialing you, or sending you an owl. But he didn't, because truthfully he wasn't sure what to say without sounding desperate. He sat in his home office, it was a late evening. He had a small flat with Mel, he could hear her stirring around the place getting ready for bed. He would never tell you, but they had been arguing a lot lately. He had gotten engaged to Mel in the spring, to please her parents who wanted her to be married very soon. He had only been with her for a whole one year now. It felt rushed, and They both wondered if the feelings of doubt were normal or an intuitive sign that maybe it wasn't right after all. Mel was gravely offended and upset that Theodore had purchased a ring to propose to her, rather than giving her his mothers wedding ring that had been passed down and in his family for many generations. And in turn, Theo was upset that Mel was selfish, only ever wanting to do things she took pleasure in, not truly listening to him.
He exhaled, and tapped his quill against the blank page. No words could come out. He thought comfort from old friends would be kind. He had already written Draco recently, who was expecting a baby with Astoria Greengrass, his now wife. His life seemed to fall into place perfectly after school. It didn't seem fair. He even checked up on some of his other buddies from those days. Nothing seemed to give a truly nostalgic happiness quite like seeing you that day had. He still knew how you liked your coffee, your favorite song, hoping it hadn't changed. He felt slightly empty in his day to day life. But he had no idea you were still in town until he had run into you.
"Ted!" Mel called. He hated when she would yell, rather than just walking over to where he was. "Yes?" Theo called. He sighed. Mel popped her head into his office. "Have you seen my watch? the gold one, I can't find it anywhere." Theo looked at her, empty handed and he truthfully had not the slightest clue where it could be. "No idea." He said flatly. "Is everything ok?" she asked him suspiciously. "yes." Theo had said. "Just tired." He said. "Oh... well don't be up too late, you'll have to see me off in the morning." She said, and then went back to looking for her watch. She had been packing. Right. Theodore had remembered Mel was going to be out of town for the next two weeks, going back to America for her school reunion. He had forgotten, but he didn't want to admit to her it was going to be nice to be alone for a bit, he could reflect and figure out his loneliness.
The next morning, Theo woke up at 11:30am. He had slept in. Mel was going to be furious. she must have been already on the train by now, at least a hundred miles away. He sighed in discouragement, writing her an owl immediately to apologize to her. She would be very upset when she got back home, and Theo would probably never hear the end of it from her, but it wasn't like it was a 6 month cruise across the world, it was only 2 short weeks. She should be fine, or at least he used that to reassure himself. He kept thinking of you whenever his mind wandered, especially when he was reminded of his school days. He remembered how sweet you were, and how you were his very first love.
He spent the morning finding you in a phone book Mel had purchased, with almost everyone who lived locally. His fingers gently skimmed over the ink that said your name and address. After some time, he contemplated his decision to go see you, finally deciding that he would. Theo made himself a quick breakfast, dressed and headed out the door.
When he arrived at your flat, he knew you would likely have been spending the day in bed, sleepy. That's always how you spent sundays when you were younger. His feet carried him to the door, but he could not bring himself to knock at first. He hesitated, toying with the idea of just leaving, but there was a part of him that was still fond of you that kept his feet locked in place at your door. He gently knocked on the door, hearing you shuffling about inside for a few minutes before you answered.
You gasped when you saw him. "Theo," you exclaimed happily. He was right, you were wearing pajamas and a robe over top. "Please come in." you said. "I'm happy you came to see me." you said. "Me too," he admitted. "How is Mel doing, where is she this morning?" you asked hesitantly. "She's out of town, actually." he said, sounding slightly saddened.
"Oh. Well hopefully you won't be alone too long." you offered. "Would you like some tea?" Theo nodded, hoping you still remembered he liked a bit of honey, and one sugar cube to chew on while it cooled. It was a ritual of his. you closed the door once he entered, and walked over to the kitchen to put on some hot water in the kettle.
"I'm glad you're here," you said. "really." you said gently. "Please have a seat." you offered, Theo sat at your kitchen island and everything suddenly felt strange, like things were just right where they were always meant to be. "I just wanted to catch up, see what you were up to," he said. "And sorry if you had plans today I could just leave if it's too much trouble-" You cut him off, "No-no. I'm fine. I enjoy your company." you said softly.
"So what have you been up to? I hear you're getting married soon?" you asked fake excitedly.
"Yes, about that..." he trailed off. You looked at him and frowned. "Is everything ok with Mel?" you asked him somewhat concerned. "Oh, yes yes, of course." he lied. "I ... was actually going to ask if you still had my mothers ring." You wanted to burst into tears, but maintained a cool and mature demeanor, something you were never good at. Your heart had dropped right out of your chest and into your lower stomach, smelling and causing a slight nausea. "oh, Yes I believe I still do... It's probably somewhere with my old things from school, I could find it for you."
"That would be great," he said. "Mel seems like a kind girl, erm. How did you guys meet?" You stammered, there was a bit of awkward tension now.
"My Father was mates with hers when they were younger, He introduced us." Theo explained. one thing you knew about him was that he did not have the best relationship with his father. "That sounds nice. I'm glad you have someone." you said gently.
"Are you seeing anyone?" He asked you, quite blunt. "Oh, erm, no,-no. I'm not." you said.
"Oh," Theo said. "Any guy would be lucky to have you. I'm surprised."
"Thanks. Just haven't found the right person I guess." you said softly, with an exhale the kettle began its drawn out whistle and you grabbed two saucers and two cups for the tea, dropping a bit of sugar in yours and putting a few sugar cubes onto Theo's plate, you sat it down on the counter and returned to the cabinet to grab some honey and a spoon for him. He smiled to himself as he watched you. You hadn't changed that much, still the same version of yourself that he had fallen in love with all those years ago.
"Anyway, The ring," you said stiffening up. "I'll have to look through my old things but I'm positive it's here somewhere. I know it's an old family heirloom, so I didn't ever throw it away."
you said, holding the cup of tea to warm your hands. "Are you proposing to Mel?" you asked.
"Well, I already did. My father mentioned that damn ring and she was upset that I bought one since I didn't have it at the time." he sighed heavily. "I'm sorry to hear that." you replied. "I can look for it now." you set your mug down, and scurried off towards your bedroom. Theo chuckled to himself as he watched you.
You searched your closet first, then drawers, and cabinets. anywhere in your bedroom that you could have stashed it away. You kept it on a chain, until the day you would be ready to wear it on your finger again, but when that time never came seeing it made you sad.
Theodore approached with his mug, his boots alarming you to his every step, He leaned in the doorway and sipped his tea. "You don't have to find it today." he said gently, trying to ease your frantic searching. He felt bad about it, knowing it might ache for you the way it did for him.
"I think, It's in here, just- wait," you said, tossing around your things to find it in your closet. While you were distracted, Theodore sat at the end of your bed, seeing the small box "Memories" written on it in your handwriting. He didn't want to snoop, but it was already open. He couldn't help but peek at the contents. He set his mug of tea on your bedside table and grabbed one of the photographs, It was the picture of you with your arms around him. He took a moment, wanting to cry for those good days when you were both happy, but not wanting to embarrass himself. He had to shake the fluttery feeling off, and remind himself that he was engaged, and the wedding venue was picked out, and his fiance's family had already started planning things.
He longed for you, for your touch, your scent, your gentle voice all of you. But he couldn't tell you. He found himself staring at the photo, his thumb gently tracing over it. he smiled.
His silence had caught your attention when you had fallen short trying to find the ring. You turned around and flushed pink. "So sorry," you said, knowing he had already seen the photos and letters he had written you as a young man. You quickly grabbed the box, and turned to stash it away when you had tripped over a sock on your floor, the photos wisped over the floor, his scarf falling out and unrolling itself, and you were both startled by the "Cling" sound of something falling onto your wooden floors. "I found it!" you exclaimed, collecting yourself to your feet, it was a silver plated ring with ornate detailing on it and a polished diamond in the center. You had kept it around a chain to wear around your neck when you missed him after the break up...
You held it out to Theo in your hand with a sigh. His fingers grazed your hand as he picked it up and held it between his fingers. "Thanks," he said.
. . . . . .
Just before graduation, you found yourself lying on the soft bed of grass by the black lake, with theo by your side. One arm was behind his head acting as a pillow, and the other was in his jumper pocket fiddling with his mothers ring. You had gotten his letter, you knew he wanted to, but you had no idea what would come next.
"I love you." he said, sincerely and simply. "I love you." You replied quickly. He sighed, sitting up after a moment. "Teddy?" you cooed, seeing he was distraught. "Y/N," he exhaled softly, you felt your stomach sink down and your body melted into the earth's touch, you were nervous. He was acting strangely. "My father has arranged for me to leave. He insists that I go on my own." he said. he sounded weak, like a wounded animal. "I know I already promised this to you," he said, reaching into his pocket and pulling out the shiny ring that was once his mothers.
"But I want you to keep this until I come back." you looked at him, your glassy eyes looked like they could cry any second, and it shattered his heart. you leaned forward and kissed him passionately, his soft lips colliding with yours.
. . .
After graduation, Theo had seemingly disappeared, He didn't owl you or try to contact you at all, and it hurt tremendously. Finally, after asking around and searching for him for days, you had his mothers ring around your neck on a chain, going to the last resort. You walked up to the Nott manor slowly, anxiety rising in your chest you forced your breath to steady. You had to convince yourself he wasn't kidnapped, hurt or worse. You walked up the brick steps and placed a stern knock on the door.
After a while, his father finally answered. He was displeased to see you. "My boy doesn't want to see you," he said. "You should just go home." he snapped at you, his tone was rude. "Where is Theodore- Is he okay?" you asked, he was tempted to shut the door in your face but he humored you. "Theodore is doing fine. But he Does Not want to see you anymore." he said again, this time louder and more aggressive. "And that doesn't belong to you." he said, reaching for the ring around your neck. You stepped back and tucked it into your shirt. "Tell me where he is." you insisted. "Absolutely not. We don't need filth like you in our bloodline.. My boy can do better." He snarled and slammed the door, click, he locked it.
Your eyes welled with tears as you ran off from his street, breathing so heavily you were hyperventilating. You were left so confused, and hurt. Theo wouldn't possibly do that to you, he'd tell you right?
. . .
The night Theodore left, he was at the Nott manor gathering his things and packing. His father stood in the doorway, ready to diffuse the situation if heaven-forbid he decided to run away. "Where is Y/N?" Theo asked, he was still wearing his slytherin sweater despite no longer being a student technically. The thick wool brought him comfort. "I have to see her before I go anywhere." Theodore stood up to his father, ready for conflict.
"She's gone." He snapped. "She said she doesn't want to see you. and she made off with your mothers ring, probably selling it for cash.." he muttered. "She wouldn't do that. You are a filthy liar." he snapped through gritted teeth. "Tell me where she is or I won't go." Theodore's father laughed in his face, "You're going boy, even if we have to restrain you."
Before Theodore could lunge at his father, he had disarmed him and some of his fathers cronies had appeared to restrain Theo, and stun him. He put up quite the fight before he was finally defeated.
. . . . . .
In the coming two weeks, you had made it a habit to see Theodore nearly everyday, falling back into the old familiar friendship you both missed. You went shopping together, he had even made you dinner, and assembled your new dresser for you, yes- you could have used magic to do it, but where is the fun in that?
It felt like domestic bliss, but it had to end. Tomorrow morning, Mel would be back in town and your lives would have to go back to how they were before you had each other in them. Not that you couldn't stay friends, but Mel seemed pushy and you didn't want to pry. You fell back in love within those two weeks of keeping each other company, you were thankful that he came into your life when he had. It was a dull aching love.
You found yourselves sitting on the rooftop patio of your building, overlooking the nice view of the sunset. Theo had pulled up a chair next to yours, closer. You had both of your cups of cocoa, and Theo was smoking a cigarette, a habit he had long forgotten after school, especially because Mel said she hated them, and that they smelled gross. You were never particularly fond of the smell, but it was homely to you because Theo had smoked during his school days.
He sighed and took a long drag, exhaling a cloud of smoke that slowly disappeared into the air. you turned to him. "So," He said, breaking the silence. "I'm going to leave Mel," he said. You were quite shocked by this, though part of you was not surprised, they didn't seem entirely happy together.
"Why?" you asked curiously. "She seems sweet, and you have a whole life together planned, why give up now?"
Theo was silent for a while, thoughtfully taking a hit and then a sip. "Because," he began, his words trailing out like puzzle pieces being strung together, until it all finally made sense to you.
"To be truthful, I don't want to marry her. I don't think I ever did. The only person I ever really wanted to marry... was you. After I left, I wrote to you nearly every day, even after I realized you weren't receiving any of my letters, I still did it because it was comforting. That's why I never asked for the ring back, until I thought about giving it to her, but I think I did that because my father wanted me to. And I've learned to not care what he thinks so much." He said, his voice was soothing, like honey upon your ears. " I don't care what he says, I don't think anything could keep me from you." He says with a desperate exhale, putting out his cigarette. "Teddy?" you said gently. "What are we going to do?"
"I don't know, but we'll figure it out. and I'm sorry for all the lost years. I want to make it up to you. however I can." He had matured so much as a person, and you saw now that he had blossomed from a boy into a man in those 5 years. You stayed quiet, and smiled softly, his hand grabbed yours, you were now close enough together that you could rest your head on his shoulder as the sunset's warm glow slowly became overwhelmed by darkness.
. . . . . .
The next morning, it was a rainy and lazy day. you rolled out of bed to the knock on your door. Sheepishly and hesitantly, you wandered across the floor, wondering when the rain had even started. You opened the door, gasping when you were met with a sopping wet Theodore. You smiled, happy to see him again. He breathed heavily as if he had run right to you, dripping water on your door mat. "Mel left me. It's over." he said, with an exasperated breath. You looked concerned for him, knowing that breakups weren't ever pleasant for anyone involved. "Can I kiss you?" he asked. You did not utter a word, instead you kissed him deeply, making up for lost time, Ignoring his wet hair dripping onto your face, It felt like an explosion having his arms wrapped around you again, tasting him, smelling his musky cologne again, feeling the touch of his embrace. He spun you around and you pulled back and smiled.
"Take it inside you damn kids!" the old woman who lived next door to you muttered before bringing her groceries inside her apartment. you both couldn't help but laugh and smile at each other.
"Come in, I think you need a shower." you said gently running your fingers through his wet hair.
"One more thing," He said, reaching into his pockets, grabbing his mothers ring that was still on your silver chain from the last time you wore it. "This belongs to you. I shouldn't have asked for it back." Now inside, you smiled again and kissed him once more, It was the start of a rekindling of an old flame, officially now of course. You both couldn't possibly feel more in love than you did in that moment.

I Hate you. - Theodore Nott X Reader
A/N Highly Requested part 2!
I am an asshole that left that shit on a cliffhanger and then got super busy. I am very formally sorry.
Part 1 Here.
"Hi,"
Your eyes fluttered open, and your head hurt. You had napped, 'Plenty of rest!' you could practically hear the nurses telling you. It was Hermione Granger, one of your close friends. Someone safe.
"Hello," you said groggily. "Do you know what happened?" you asked her, knowing that your curly-haired friend wouldn't lie and that she would be blunt about it if she knew. "you were cursed," she began, that was the part you knew about. "We think, it was a death eater. Some kind of threat." she began, cautiously pursing her lips. "Is there anyone you know that would hurt you?"
You didn't want to give her Theodore's name, she knew he could be a bully, especially to the two of you, considering your blood status. "I swear if Malfoy-" she said quickly but you had cut her off. "I think I know who," you quipped.
Hermione listened eager to know, and you didn't want her getting herself and her friends in trouble over you. "Nott, he's been..." you trailed off. "He's been rude lately, I think it could have been him," you said finally.
Regret washed over you, knowing he would now be a target. You had a crush on him, you didn't want to see him be hurt or sent away or worse. "But I'm not sure." you tried to backtrack. Hermione sighed.
"Figures," she said. "He's been a total arse since we started in our first year... He's probably tried to hurt you." she stood quickly. you looked at her sadly. "Please let me handle this when I get better, yeah?" you asked her, leaning up and looking into her eyes. "And don't tell Harry and Ron. The boys will only worry," you added.
"And I can handle myself," you said proudly. "I know you can," Hermione defended.
. . .
When you were healed enough to be released from the hospital wing, you knew exactly where to go. You scurried off quickly, right to the usual spot you had seen Theodore Nott hang out. Luckily, without his friends.
You marched right up to him, abruptly. "Nott," you seethed. the boy rose to his feet, quickly turning to you. "I see you're feeling better." he said coldly.
"Did you curse me?" you asked him.
"No," he said immediately. you remained unconvinced. "we can't talk about this here," he said. "why not?" you demanded. He gently grabbed your shoulders, ushering you to follow him. you didn't know why you did, but you did. Theodore had gotten the two of you away from prying ears and eyes near the castle.
"I didn't curse you," he said in a low tone. "And I apologized." he followed up. "That doesn't excuse the things you said to me," you said in a flat voice, hurt. He picked up on this and stiffened his body. The boy felt bad about it. "You're right, it doesn't." He said.
"I'm an awful person, and if you want to hex me and not believe me go ahead," he said somewhat defeated. "But before you do, please just listen, at least."
You were frustrated as it was, you had no intent to listen to him speak or plead his case. After how he had treated you, you wanted to slap him, hex him, and walk away in triumph, but there was that stupid part of you that still really adored him. You looked into his handsome eyes.
"Go on then." you said coldly again. "hurry up."
"I didn't curse you," he began. you rolled your eyes, he had already said it. "I was protecting you," he said. protecting you? what? he clearly hated you? "What..?" you asked, dumbfounded.
"I saw someone on school grounds that day, a death eater. you're lucky I got there before something worse could happen." he snarled. "I stunned them long enough to get you to safety, I left you in the hospital wing and nearly got hit bad myself doing so," he said. his cocky demeanor was falling, and you were starting to see beyond his facade. It was confusing.
"But why? Wouldn't you be happy to see me hurt?" you asked folding your arms. "I saw your note, by the way, not that sincere of an apology," you stated defensively, and rightfully so.
"Look," Theo stepped forward, your rival stood over you. "I am sorry. I didn't mean the awful things I said to you. you actually aren't so bad," he said as If trying to convince himself as well. "It's part of this image, I have," he explained. "It doesn't excuse my behavior, But sometimes I let the anger get the best of me. I'm jealous of people like you, who get to be happy..." he trailed off. "who get to be proud of who they are. I don't get to be like that." he continued.
"And I never meant for you to get hurt, I didn't mean anything I said, It slipped out. I know you are more than a blood status, and you're quite brilliant actually," he said. you soften, unfolding your arms and standing there. "I hope we can move forward. I felt awful those 3 weeks you were in care, and I realized something," he said.
"what is it?" you said gently. you were amused to hear his voice. It felt like some kind of dream, and you were going to wake up soon. "I sort of, erm," he stuttered. you had never heard him be so flustered before.
"I really like you, I've come to realize."
You echoed his words in the back of your head. there was still a lot to clear up, a lot to make up for, but you were happy your wish finally came true after all. He was sincere, apologizing and coming clean. You wanted the full story, which would likely only come if you were kind to him in return. His guards were let down at that moment.
"you'll have to make it up to me," you said sternly.
"Of course," he said with a sigh of relief. "anything."
"Well, since you suggested a butterbeer, let's start there," you said. he nodded, and it was the blossom of a slow-growing and beautiful relationship.

Summary: Sirius publicly displays his love for you.
Slytherin! Feminine! She/her pronouns used
“Shhh,”
You uttered in a demanding tone. You were snogging Sirius Black, whose soft black hair was entangled in your fingers as you embraced. He nuzzled into your neck, your tie barely hanging on and your blouse slightly unbuttoned. All you could think of was how risky it was, but it was exhilarating. Sirius felt the same, more so on the side of not caring if you were to get caught, he was devouring your attention, every moment of it.
A soft moan escaped your lips as you continued to kiss your neck biting down gently and resting his hand on your bottom, knowing not to go any further. That was an unspoken boundary, no sexual acts in public, especially not in the dungeon corridor so late at night. It was risky, sure, but also dangerous.
“Thought you wanted me to quiet down?” Sirius pulled back with a smug look and a chuckle at the irony of you making a noise when you were shushing him moments earlier. His hair was a mess and his lips were red and raw from the contact. “You know what I meant.” You said. “I don’t want anyone to catch us.” You stated with a breath.
You were a Slytherin, and much like Sirius in the fact that your parents were very strict about upkeeping your image and your reputation. Being seen snogging Sirius Black, especially after he had run away from home, would be grounds for being disowned if it came to it, and you couldn’t trust all the students to keep their mouth shut. Even with only his closest friends knowing (although they came upon the information on accident) he wanted to be more. But it was more complicated than that, the thing is you loved him. Adored the boy, and although defensive you would stick up for him if the opportunity rose. He respected your wishes to keep things secret, although to his dismay he wanted to show you off to the world. To hold your hand in hogsmeade, to go on picnics by the forbidden Forrest.
Sirius sighed, straightening his own tie that had come loose. His mood was slightly dampened, but he followed with your wishes. “I just wish things could be different,” he said in a sad tone. “I’m sorry.” You uttered. “I’m sorry Sirius.” You said. You liked him so much. You didn’t want to hurt him and you were so focused on that, that you hadn’t realized you were already doing so.
“As much as I enjoy a late night rendezvous, you know I’d love to make you mine. Officially.” He said. You folded your arms. “You know why we can’t,” you begin, the same old story and the watered down excuses. “I know.” He said taking a step back. “Just know that I’ll be waiting for you.” He said.
You stood there, the tension was thick in the air. You wanted to lock lips again but knew it wouldn’t be appropriate now. After a few moments, you broke the heavy silence. “I should get back to my dorm.” You said quietly. Sirius just stared, his eyes gazed at you with a bit of disappointment. he stepped away even further, stopping himself in his tracks. “I love you.” He said.
“I love you.” You whispered, barely loud enough for the boy to hear it. You watched as he walked away. He had always gone along with it, he’d been cool and relaxed, but that night was different.
. . . .
The next morning you were pulled out of your thoughts and back to reality. A Defense Against the Dark Arts lecture. Tiring, boring, gruesome. Regulus had said your name, and you suddenly remebered you had a partnered assignment with him. Regulus was a handsome boy, younger than his brother and more reserved. He was a good friend, sharing the same house and year. You smiled softly. “Sorry, I’m a bit distracted.” You whispered. Luckily you both sat in the back of the class and regulus had been taking notes so at least one of you knew what was going on. “It’s alright…” he uttered. “Listen,” he began, “I know about you and Sirius. I won’t say anything, but you seem to really make him happy.”
You flushed, your cheeks turning pink. You stared at the back of Sirius’ head who sat nearly in the front row with his bunch. He made you happy too. “I support your decision, either way,” regulus continued. “But I also see how much it’s hurting both of you. We may not act like it, but he is my brother…” regulus continued speaking softly to not disrupt the class. “And you are one of my closest friends. I don’t like to see either of you hurting.” He said.
Hurting? Sure, you felt conflicted, but you hadn’t realized up front that the situation was hurting you. You took Regulus’ words to heart, really letting them dig into you. You felt somewhat guilty, Sirius has been through enough, you heard the stories from both himself and his brother. You knew that he deserved to be happy and to love proudly. You sighed gently, nodding at regulus. “Thanks, Reg.” You said. “I really needed to hear that.”
. . .
Since Sirius had told you those three words, they replayed in your head non-stop. And Regulus’ advice gave you piece of mind over the situation. You found yourself conflicted. All you could do was watch him from across the great hall with his mates, quietly observing his body language. If he was hurting, he didn’t outwardly show it. Maybe Regulus was right…
Sirius sat next to James, who had his arm around lily. On the opposite side of the table was Remus and Peter. “I really love her.” Sirius stated. Leaving his friends silent, James chuckled. “The same way you loved Marlene Mckinnion in our second year?” He gouged. Lily smacked his arm. “Don’t be rude! I think it’s romantic.” Lily stated, glaring at James playfully. “That was just a crush,” Sirius said sternly. “This is different.”
The bunch had been discussing relationships, with Lily and James being the new it couple, and new gossip spreading around. Luckily the great hall was empty enough no one could really hear unless they were ease dropping. “Well love or not you have to move on eventually.” Peter said in his nasally voice. The topic even made Remus chime in with some wise words. “I believe true love can find anyone, you just have to believe in it.” He said. It was profound, likely something he read in a book. “Okay nerd,” Peter snickered. “I do believe it to be true. If you love this girl, and it’s meant to be it will find a way.” Remus stated. “Not everyone can be as fortunate as Lily and James,” he teased. James winked at him and gave Lily a kiss on the cheek.
“I just don’t know what to do.” Sirius said in defeat. “Shy of announcing it to the whole school, there isn’t much you can do right now, pads.” James said, Lily’s presence had softened his attitude now. “She wants to keep our relationship a secret, and I feel like I’m lying to myself.” Sirius said, he usually didn’t mope so much but you were different, he never felt this way with anyone before.
“She hangs around my brother so much, he’d make the perfect husband. He’s got our money… and I taught old reg to be charming, and he’s slytherin since that seems to matter so much.” Sirius mumbled.
Lily reached out and placed her hand on sirius’. “I think you should follow your heart Sirius. Your house or blood status shouldn’t matter, love is amazing and powerful and it will follow you.” She said, wise words for a teenage girl. She was caring and motherly, and kept the boys in check most of the time.
“I guess you’re right,” Sirius said finally. “But maybe I should leave the quaffe in her court.” Finality in his voice. He listened on as Peter changed the subject to something that didn’t matter really, not while his mind and heart were in a different place. He was feeling down but he stayed hopeful.
. . .
You woke up particularly early, early enough the sun was still hiding and everything was still dark and the halls were illuminated by the star light. A chilly morning at that. You dragged yourself out of bed. You hadn’t slept nearly at all last night, tossing and turning and contemplating your relationship with Sirius. You felt awful with how you left things, three words hanging out in the air like a clothes line. As you prepared for the day ahead, you tried to be mindful and stay positive though it was proven to be difficult. You were worried you’d ruin the only relationship that was every truly good for you.
You remebered the party where you first met Sirius, knowing who he was but never speaking to him. How that evening blossomed over the past 8 months, now carrying deeper feelings. The school year was almost over, and you couldn’t not see him and pretend he didn’t exist just because of your parents and your family’s expectations for you. That would be awful and torturous. You had to take some kind of action, but then it was the question of how you do so. Regulus had told you to just tell Sirius how you felt and to be honest. Obvious advice, if you would have listened to it a lot sooner everything would be vastly different.
You left your dorm as your room mates were waking, careful not to make much noise. The halls were quiet, and you procrastinated going towards the Gryffindors common area, wandering slowly and taking the long way before hand. Finally, you had come across the 4 mauraders. All of them, including Sirius acted like they didn’t know you when you approached them. Your heart was racing, but you swallowed the feeling and tapped on Sirius’ shoulder. “Can we talk?” You asked. “Privately.” Adding. He looked at you, shocked, and nodded.
His friends acted nonchalant, as if they were up to something, and they wandered towards the great hall where they met up with a clueless lily. You watched as students poured into the great hall, It was just before breakfast and was starting to grow louder with chatter and laughter of students of all ages.
You walked along, leaving some space between the grand doors of the great hall and the students shuffling into the room. You stood there, in the corridor, unable to speak for once. You looked at Sirius, not knowing what to say or how to say it, but he knew. Sirius always knew. It was part of why he was so alluring.
You opened your mouth to speak but he had cut you off. “I meant what I said.” He said sternly. “I love you.” Normally you would have shushed him or pretended to argue to keep up the appearance, but you didn’t care in that moment. “And I need not just you, but everyone to know that,” he goes on. You let him speak, because it’s sweet and genuine and you know he won’t make you explain yourself. “I want to hold hands in hogsmeade, share lollies from honeydukes and curl up by the fire place, hell I’d even go on a double date with lily and James,” he says, his voice is desperate like he had been needing to get it off his chest for some time.
“Siri,” you cooed gently, tenderly. “I just need you to trust me.” You nodded. He stepped forward and grabbed you hands. “Do you trust me?” You locked into his gaze, ignorant to the students that had just seen you two as they entered the hall. “Yes.” You said. “Are you sure?” Sirius confirmed.
“Absolutely.” You agreed.
Without another word Sirius grabbed your hand interwoven with his own and matched the two of you right into the great hall. He stepped up onto the center of the table, ignoring to students who had protested or gave weird looks to the two of you. You looked at him for a moment, entirely confused, but you trusted him and whatever he had planned. This was part of the reason why you had grown to love him so much. Now you had everyone’s attention, even some of the faculty looked beyond curiously.
Sirius pulled you close to him and kissed you deeply, in front of all the prying and jealous eyes and embraced you for the whole school to see. James whistled and his mates cheered. A long drawn out “Awwwww!” Was earned from lily. You flushed, once you realized everyone was looking at you.
Sirius stepped down off the table and reached his hand out to hold yours while you stepped down, and then sat with you by his friends.
“Well, wasn’t that romantic.” James encouraged patting Sirius on the back. He held your hand under the table and squeezed it to give you reassurance. You cheeks were warm and you were still slightly flustered.
“Mates, this is Y/N. My Girlfriend.” Sirius said. You had talked about becoming official so many times, but you always hesitated. Now this love felt freeing, knowing that it was now a reality and not just a thought or a fantasy.
The boys introduced themselves, although you knew most of their names. Even lily was excited and you shared a moment where you both giggled about being the only girls in the group now, the honorary girlfriends, she had said. The conversation was light, fun. More importantly you saw how elated and joyed Sirius was to now proudly love you in public. It was the beginning of a very beautiful official relationship. A day you’d remeber during your wedding vows . . .

Summary: Quick Haley Blurb. Very fluffy.
The sun was setting over the hills of Pelican Town, casting a golden hue over the valley. You had been spending your day tending to your crops, enjoying the peaceful rhythm of life on the farm. The steady buzz of bees, the rustling of the leaves in the gentle breeze, and the sound of the nearby river flowing all blended together to create a calming atmosphere.
However, as the evening approached, you felt an unexpected pull toward the town. There was something about the way the town seemed to glow during the sunset that drew you in. You liked to watch people wind down and end their days.
It wasn’t just the beautiful scenery, though. It was Haley... Her presence always brought a strange warmth to your heart, though you hadn’t quite figured out why.
You decided to walk toward the town square. As you entered the square, you spotted her sitting on the small bench, her camera hanging from her neck, her eyes focused on something not too far. She looked up as you approached, a soft smile spreading across her face.
“Hey, Farmer,” Haley said, her voice light and friendly. "What brings you to town at this hour?"
You smiled, feeling a bit of nervousness creeping up. “I don’t know... I guess the sunset. It’s a nice evening.”
She chuckled, her eyes twinkling in the fading light. “It is, isn’t it? I swear, the valley has the best sunsets. It’s one of the reasons I love living here.”
You nodded, but there was a feeling in your chest you couldn’t quite shake. It was the way Haley spoke about the valley, so fondly, as though it was a part of her. You hadn’t expected her to open up like that, and it made you realize how much you truly admired her.
"Do you ever feel like you belong here? Like you're right where you're meant to be." you asked, almost shyly, unsure if you were prying too much.
Haley looked thoughtful for a moment, her gaze drifting toward the horizon. “Yeah, I think I do. I wasn’t sure at first, but... the more time I spend here, the more it feels like home." she trailed off with a thoughtful look. "you could say that it's not just the place, but the people. The ones who really see you.”
Her words caught you off guard, and you felt your heart skip a beat. Was she talking about you? The thought lingered in your mind, but before you could say anything, she turned toward you with a playful grin.
“Anyway...” Haley continued, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, “I’ve got a great spot for the sunset, but I could use some company. What do you think?”
You felt a warmth spread through your chest at the invitation. “I’d love to,” you said, your voice steady despite the butterflies in your stomach.
She led the way to a small hill just outside the town, a perfect spot to watch the sun dip below the horizon. She knew all the best places in town like this. You sat down next to her, the soft grass tickling your legs, and both of you fell into a comfortable silence, watching the colors of the sky change. For a while, it felt as though time had slowed, the world around you melting into a quiet peace.
Haley pulled out her camera and snapped a few pictures, her eyes gleaming as she captured the beauty of the moment. “I swear, the lighting here is perfect at this hour,” she said, glancing at you through her lens. “I think you’d make a great model for one of my photos...”
You felt a rush of warmth at her compliment, your heart racing a little faster. "I’d be honored."
She laughed softly, tucking her camera back into its bag. “You know, you’re pretty easy to talk to. I’ve never really had a chance to get to know you much. Most of the time, I’m too caught up in... well, other things."
Haley snaps a few candids of you smiling, and talking while you admire the scenery.
You smiled gently, feeling your connection with her grow. "I get it. You’ve got a lot going on, with the farm and your photography. But I’d like to get to know you too."
Haley’s gaze softened, and for a moment, the playful demeanor faded, replaced by something more sincere. She turned toward you, her eyes searching yours. “I think that sounds nice,” she said, her voice quieter now, almost shy.
The air between you shifted, and you realized how much you had come to enjoy spending time with her. It wasn’t just the physical beauty she had—it was her spirit, her laughter, and the way she seemed to notice things no one else did. You felt drawn to her, not just as a friend, but maybe something more.
Haley was inches from your face now, her lips were tempting. She combed and ran her fingers through your hair until she had the perfect angle, shot and lighting and snapped a few more photos. She would be keeping the one where you are laughing nervously with a soft smile and the warm glow across you.
Before you could say another word, Haley leaned over, her shoulder gently brushing against yours as she stared at the stars now twinkling above you. The sun had set fast. Even the fireflies were slowly coming out and dancing.
"Thanks for coming out here with me," she murmured, her voice full of gratitude. "I... I don’t usually open up like this, but I’m glad I did."
Your heart swelled, and without thinking, you whispered, “I’m glad you did too.”
Haley turned her head toward you, her expression soft and vulnerable under the moonlight. “You know, you are one of the best things that’s happened to me since I came to this valley.”
Your breath caught in your throat, and you found yourself leaning in just a little closer. The world felt small in that moment, with just the two of you sitting on the hill, the quiet night wrapping around you like a warm blanket. The cicadas began singing, another romantic melodic song.
You didn’t know what the future held, but in that moment, with Haley by your side, you felt like you were exactly where you were meant to be. maybe it was fate, or destiny that your grandfather had left you that lot of land.
And as the last rays of sunlight faded away, you couldn’t help but smile—because maybe, just maybe, there was something special between the two of you. She smiled softly and rested her head on your shoulder. The two of you stayed that way for what felt like many hours.

Moonlight - Sirius Black X Reader
Summary: Padfoot scares you, Sirius reassures you.
It was a cool, crisp evening when you found yourself wandering the quiet grounds of Hogwarts, unable to sleep. The stars overhead glittered in the dark sky and the chilly breeze nipped at your skin, but your mind was far from peaceful. You'd been struggling with everything—schoolwork, friendships, and the spark of uncertainty in your new relationship.
Lost in your thoughts, you nearly didn’t notice the rustle in the bushes nearby. At first, you thought it might be a harmless creature, perhaps a magical animal or a curious student, but as you glanced toward the noise, you were met with a pair of glowing amber eyes.
Before you could react, a large, black dog bounded out of the darkness, its sleek fur shining under the moonlight. The dog was surprisingly large, but there was something oddly familiar about it—something comforting, maybe it was because you liked animals, and had learned in a book about magical creatures that they could sometimes behave oddly under the moonlight...
You stumbled backward, not sure whether to be frightened or relieved. Your body's reaction was to freeze, you stood nearly trembling. Unable to reach for your wand in fear of activating the beast.
The dog stopped in front of you, its eyes piercing. It was as if the creature could sense your fear. It stepped back and turned, unusual behavior for a dog, before it jumped back into the bushes.
This sudden movement scared you, your heart began to beat so fast you felt like it could explode and adrenaline coursed through your body. You turned to run away as fast as you could, tripping on a branch and sprawling on the ground.
With a bloody knee you collected yourself extremely quickly, and in an escape ran back towards the castle's refuge.
As you were rushing back to safety, you ran nearly face-first into Sirius Black. "Sirius!" you hissed in a whisper. "We have to get out of here-" he cut you off, feeling bad for startling you earlier in his Animagus form. "It's fine you're safe," he plead.
He felt worse when he saw how frazzled you were, how terrified you had been. you sighed gently. "There's a-" You began, He interrupted you again. normal you hated when he did that. "Hey, it's okay, you're safe." He repeated again. "It's just me." He said.
As you looked at him, you were slowly piecing it together. It's just me. What could that possibly mean? you saw how his hair fell in his face, dark, messy resembling the matted fur you had seen across the dogs' back. You wondered why his mates had always called him Padfoot. you had now become embarrassed you didn't catch on sooner.
"You scared me!" you exclaimed. "I thought I was going to get hurt." He squeezed you shoulders gently, looking at you with soft eyes. "Hey, I'm sorry." he said tenderly. It was moments like that you realized you really were in love with him. His expression melted, concerned for you.
"It's alright," you whispered.
Sirius smiled again. "I really am sorry," he stammered. "You mentioned your liking for late-night walks before, and I always worry someone or something will try and hurt you."
"You've been following me?" You asked.
"Well, sort of." He admitted. "I Just have to know you are okay, with all the dangerous things that could happen near the castle."
You smiled softly, your cheeks flushing. Luckily the moonlight concealed it. It was so sweet how deeply he cared for you.
"That's really sweet, Sirius." he took a small step closer, an action that made all the difference. "I'll always be looking out for you." he said. You gazed into his eyes. He was so handsome, and stood over you. He always made you feel safe, and knowing what you had seen in the woods was Sirius protecting you- in reality, made any bit of doubt in your relationship drift away.
He would have kissed you... but the moment was too perfect to be accompanied by a kiss even if it would be a loving gesture. The newness of your relationship sometimes called for moments you both wanted to savor.
"Now," he whispered, pushing your hair behind your ear for you, out of your face. "Shall I walk you back to your dorm?" he asked.
"No." you stated quickly, then flaunting a thoughtfully mischievous question, one that Sirius quite liked. "Why don't we go back to yours?" you asked, remembering his mates were out that night. You had previously thought he was with them.
"That sounds perfect." he winked at you. And as the moon shone down on the two of you, Sirius gave you one last playful grin.
And then some smut happened...
