I wish the people around me would've understood how much hormones can affect my ADHD symptoms. Some days, I just can't get any work done with how bad my brain fog gets and I feel like all I can do is ride it out (and try to be gentle with myself).

was walking along a stream and kept seeing these little flower boats go by, and i was like "how nice is it that someone took the time to make these". and then 15ish minutes layer i came by a bridge where a guy in his sixties/seventies was sitting down with a huge bucket of freshly plucked flowers and leaves making the little boats, and another guy in his twenties who was fluent in english explaining to passers by that yes it's free, yes you can take pictures, yes it's just for fun. the older guy kept telling everyone that succesfully dropping them into the stream upright and having them sail away meant good luck in the future, and i'm like 98% sure that they were folded in a way where they're *always* gonna end right side up, but that didn't stop him from clapping/cheering every time one landed right. i sat down for a bit and hung out and chatted with them for like half an hour and they were SO fucking nice that i genuinely cried a little afterwards and anyway thank u for coming to my ted talk about the restoration of my faith in humanity

Just the good people of the Cotswolds bullying the Vice President of the United States. We're also going to fine our own foreign secretary £2,000 for fishing with Vance without a loicence in Kent. Yes, we are that petty. Fuck you, David Lammy, you genocide enabling fascist ball-licking cunt!
Vance is also meeting all of our far right politicians, including Farage and Jenrick. This is the worst timeline.

don't say "2010's music" and then play something from 2017-2019. that's not 2010's music to me. they're sonically so different from 2010-2016 to me

Benson Boone sounds like the name of a guy in a folk song who gets gunned down for adultery and thrown in a river

If the Animorphs were Twilight vampires, what powers would they have?
Rachel: Super-strength and nigh-invulnerability, à la Emmett. Or possibly near-suicidal courage and insane levels of ability to continue fighting through damage, à la Emmett. It's not 100% clear if he has a superpower or just nerves of steel and honking big cojones. Either way it fits with Rachel's fighting style. The Twilight vamps' powers seem to come from what they value as much as what they're good at, and Rachel (like Emmett) values more than anything the ability to keep fighting despite pain and fear.
Tobias: Tracking and pattern recognition, à la Demetri. He's good at figuring out how people's minds work, tracking their habits and skills through watching them closely. Plus, like Demetri, he can find anyone or anything if you just give him enough time to learn an area and the people who move through it.
Cassie: Bullshit detection, à la Maggie. We don't see this power used a lot, but we know that Maggie can tell how (dis)honest people are being with her and in what ways. If the power you receive is what you value, then this fits. What Cassie values is truth, reality, cutting through the lies her friends tell themselves and her enemies tell her friends in order to get at the ground truth beneath. She's a scientist as well as a healer, here to help the ugly creatures and the scary ones that no one else will go near.
Jake: Emotional sensing and influencing, à la Jasper. Because my favorite retcon in Midnight Sun is how it shifts Jasper away from being warm and misunderstood, toward putting the "anti" in "antihero" and only being tolerated by Carlisle because Alice likes him. Because with that much empathy, you can be a doormat (MCU Mantis), or you can be a master manipulator (Jasper Hale). And I think Jake fits that latter niche. Jake, like post-retcon Jasper, is aware of others' emotions, not consciously setting out to manipulate anyone... but also very battle-hardened and very used to seeing other people as pawns, to the point where it takes him conscious effort not to manipulate them.
Ax: Survival skills and super-fast dodging, à la Victoria. He obviously spends the whole series in a survival situation on a hostile alien planet, so he's very good at making do. But I also like how Victoria's ability makes her preternaturally fast at self-defense when fighting, to the point where even Edward (who has a ridiculous tactical advantage) can't beat her alone. Like Ax, the ability makes her able to dodge hits and improvise on the fly — which helps to make up for being something of a fragile speedster who can dole hits out but can't take them.
Marco: Reading emotional bonds, à la Marcus. He can read a room and find its fracture points, figure out exactly which levers to pull to keep Visser One or David unbalanced. But he also values relationships more than anyone, doing things he knows are wrong or stupid for the sake of his friends. Like Marcus, able to keep the Volturi together through centuries of infighting, Marco is the resin that keeps the other strong and bellicose pieces of the team glued together. Like Marcus, he's the quiet one you don't see coming until it's too late. Because his enemies fear him, his friends love him, and he always knows exactly where he stands on this team.

Okay so I’m an elementary school art teacher right, and I have this really fun game I made a PowerPoint for to teach like, emotions and intent and looking at the whole picture to first grade.
The idea is, when we count down and change slides, kids have to mimic one thing in the painting as best they can, whether it’s animate or inanimate. If there’s nothing in the shot for them to mimic (because I threw some contemporary abstract stuff in), they have to show me how the painting makes them feel. Easy enough, gets them excited to move around and vocal about their feelings regarding art, it’s very chaotic. I can tell pretty fast who’s got the emotional maturity to mimic things in a complex way, and who’s just enough of an abstract thinker to mimic inanimate objects early on in the game...
So the first picture is this:
Tumblr media
Napoleon Crossing the Alps. My favorite reactions are usually the kids who pretend to be the freaked-out horse, but 2 memorable occasions were the one where a student immediately scrunched up to be the rock in the foreground, and the one where a pair of girls, without any communication on their parts, decided to be Napoleon riding the horse with one as Napoleon and one as the horse. Basically one of them fully tackled the other apropos of nothing, it was hilarious
I’ll add more if y’all want or if I feel like it lol I have a bunch of stories from this one game
