Stein hears word of pride month from Spirit.

A whole thing for everyone that isn’t normal. Stein jokingly suggests he should join considering how odd he is. When Spirit brings up the fact that Stein has hit the hay with anyone and everyone yet never fallen in love, Stein gives it some serious thought.

That singular serious thought is quickly interrupted by asking Spirit if he’ll finally show some pride too. A knowing glance behind glasses has Spirit burning bright red. It gets him off of Stein’s case if nothing else.

Stein realizes that it’s been pride month for twenty four hours already when he looks into it a bit more. Late night research is all. Nothing more than that.

Maybe he’ll design something or other to show that he won’t cut you up just cause you’re trying to change. Or maybe that he will, in a constructive manner of course. He’ll probably be fired for offering surgeries even if he does have experience (hell, he’s the reason that Spirit wasn’t the one who had to birth Maka, he has qualifications).

He’s not too pleased with the way that it’s nearly four in the morning when he’s finished making a shitty little button. Glue and a beer bottle cap and a safety pin was all he needed after a “brief” research spiral. And a very welcome set of revelations about the self he had been putting off for years under the guise of madness doing it to him.

Although, if the madness did do it to him, he wouldn’t be shocked.

Stein wears two bottle cap pins to class, his own design of course.

One has stripes of gold and green that boldly proclaims “sex wins” alongside one with green and monochrome that states “love loses,” they pair nicely. Will he get in trouble for such statements? Maybe, maybe not. He’ll have to find out and design new ones accordingly.

It does raise a handful of brows, garner a few looks.

He tries to keep on teaching and ignore them. They’re all wearing their own colors. All prettied up in their own personal way. He’ll do the same.

He stops in tracks, turning to glance at Black Star. He can’t help the sigh. What grade bargain will it be this time?

“Yes, Black Star—”

Black Star thrusts out a finger, pointing directly at the pins Stein is wearing. He’s damn near touching the “love loses” one. And he’s grinning, because of course he is, he’s Black Star. He’s always grinning smugly, cockily, confidently. “You gotta make me one of those!”

“What?”

“A love loses pin! You gotta hook me up with that one, Stein, I’m your favorite student, aren’t I?” Black Star bats his lashes as though it’d have a chance of working.

Stein can’t help but laugh. “Not even close to favorite, get your grades up and then we’ll talk.”

“What!? But, but the month’ll be over by then!”

“Should’ve thought about that before slacking off.”

“Then show me how to make them!”

“Maybe, if you’ll get a proper tutor—”

“Easy! I can do that in a heartbeat!”

Stein makes another one too. One for Spirit. Blue, pink, and an upside down cross on it. Of course, he knows Spirit will never wear it, but they say it’s the thought that counts.

“Like this?” Black Star holds up the awkwardly made pin.

Stein shrugged, “Close enough.”

“Are you just going to watch, Light?” L asked, almost absently, Misa’s lips were on his throat.

Light was still awkwardly sitting to the side. “Yeah, for a bit longer. I still don’t know what all of this even is.”

“We’ve went over it before, have we not?” L asked. “You do not wish to be romantically involved with either me or Misa, but are sexually interested in both of us—”

“And we’re both very interested in you!” Misa chirped as she reared back. Glaringly distinct lipstick stains were all over his throat. Her lipstick.

Light is still frozen up at the edge of the bed.

“It’s alright if you don’t want to join, I understand any hang-ups you may have about commitment coming up in the future,” L said. His tone was deceptively calm. It was disturbingly warm. All too comfortable in this situation.

Almost like he’s familiar with it.

Like he’s been in open relationships before.

Light’s focus “breaks” to the breathy tone of Misa’s voice. A quiet little whimper. He snaps to stare, finding a hand high on her thigh, under her skirt.

And L smirks, like the asshole he is, “I am going to have to ask you leave if you aren’t going to join us—”

“But it’d be so much fun if he watched,” Misa responded with, a whine to her tone.

There’s a contemplative hum. “You do have a good point. Light?”

An inquisitive glance is sent his way, a desperate one from Misa.

The weight of all those killings feels very light compared to this. If he says yes they’ll know so much more about him, sexual preferences are weighted things. L specifically, he could peel back so many layers of his psyche. Then again L is also offering up such vulnerabilities.

But if he says no...

“I’m in.”

“Lovely, please, join however you see fit.”

“L’s throat is realllly sensitive.”

“Misa!”

“What? It’s only fair Light knows some quick and easy tips on how to make you—” Her voice breaks off into a moan and there’s something almost intoxicating about the swift ease L has in controlling her reactions. One blindsided motion under the skirt and she’s whimpering.

“No need to spoil all the fun for him,” L responded with, his tone was a hush. A voice that Light has heard many times but god, it’s so good when it’s quiet, so deep.

He wants to be talked down to when L is talking like that twice as much as he wants Misa to squirm and whimper under his touch.

And wow, wow where did that thought come from?

“You seem distracted, Light, is something the matter?”

“No. Nothings the matter.” He ambles across the plush spread of pillows and blankets as he speaks. He seizes L’s waist with one hand when he comes to rest.

“That’s good.”

Light bears down on L’s throat.

The low groaning sound is delectable.

Misa’s lipstick stains the corner of his lips as he pulls back.

Katsuki Bakugou is certain of the fact that he is the only one in the parade flying these colors.

But he still flies them regardless. They’re his and by god he’ll be proud of them. That’s the whole point of this parade, isn’t it?

To be proud of yourself, no matter how different you are.

He’s gonna try his damnedest to do that. he’s even wearing his hero gear in a fashion similar to some of his friends so the kids know its okay.

And maybe, maybe it really is just him like this in Japan, but he doubts that. Even if it is just him, he’ll still wear these colors. He’ll wear them and mean it, he even coughed up extra money to get one custom made. (He couldn’t find it anywhere for cheap)

So here he is, walking the streets with people like him but not like him. He doesn’t take up the rear or hold the front line, he’s just to the edge. Not many people talk to him, he’s wearing a softened version of that sharp expression he always has, makes sense they’d be intimidated. It’d be easier to break off into action on the edge anyways, a shining banner of gold and green trailing after him.

Kirishima comes to bother him. He’s wreathed in pretty shades of blues and greens. Kaminari and Jirou are with him, accessorized in blues, pinks, and purples. He tries to give light discussion as itomes to a halt and he realizes he’ll have to give autographs.

The first few just want an autograph and a handshake, or maybe a fistbump.

The tenth, give or take, is quietly ecstatic. Almost on the verge of tears. Bakugou recognizes the kid as belonging to Todoroki and Yaoyorozu who couldn’t make it “due to business” (he knows it’s because it’d be bad for their image if they were at the pride parade, wearing only the finest pinks and blues).

Bakugou offers an autograph.

Instead he’s confided in with a gesture to the paint on his face a quiet, “Me too.”

“How come you’re not wearing it?” Maybe it’s blunt, but he’s practically the kids uncle.

“I can’t.”

“Tell ya what, kid.”

Bakugou takes a few deep breaths before reaching to undo the knot of the flag. He brushes it down once or twice before handing it over.

“It’s all yours, if ya want it.”

Avori had spent days researching the history of Pride, working to pull together a quick youtube video on the history of Pride, the way it had slowly changed from a protest, to what it was now, parades and celebrating. Now, as she filmed their journey, she finds herself drawn to kiss Polly softly, her voice softer still when she finally spoke. “Happy Pride babe.”

First Protest Ever

I slid the crop top over myself and stretched as I fluffed my hair. I did one last check in the mirror and decided I looked splendidly gay! I chuckled to myself as I walked out of my bedroom, greeted by Vera, Viola, and Kat.

"Ready to get that gender neutral bathroom?" I nodded as I grabbed my hand-made sign.

'Where I take care of my business is none of your business.' In bright white paint over black backing with an ex over the typically male/female markers.

"I guess so, so we just stand there and picket while the school board has their meeting?" Vera nodded as they all marched down the dormitory stairs and out to the back lot, where there were a lot of others ready to roll with and without signs. Some wore hoodies and sweat, while others dressed very little. It was 85⁰ put so the bikinis and bot shorts wouldn't be questioned. Girl, boy, in between and outside the realm of gender.

"Holy shit." I whispered to myself at the crowd, Vera smirked at me as she grabbed the bullhorn from Matt and thanked him really quick before blaring the siren.

"Quiet down everyone, okay so here's how this is going to go. I am Vera or Veronica, she/her pronouns." Vera called out over the speaker. "First and foremost, we are going to be respectful! We can't very well be expected to be heard if we are pitching a fit any-time someone doesn't give us what we want right away. Understood?" The crowd cheered. "Love to hear it, secondly we have water in coolers for now." She slapped her open top Bronco pointing to the back. "and a food truck will be here about 2PM with more drinks and food, more on that later with Vi." Viola waved excitedly as climbed into the back fo the truck. "We also have some nursing students on hand with first aid." The few girls waved and held up cooling blankets and other materials. "It is hot out, we dont have tents, and this will likely last well into the later hours. If you feel yourself getting faint, dehydrated, or even wobbly please let one of us know or someone you trust can let us know. I'd highly recommend you all in the sweats tuck them away for now!" Before Vera even said anything several people were removing their jogging hoodies. "Lastly, if you want to start a chant, you have to run it by me or Viola first! Not trying to silence you, but running around yelling about your dicks or tits might not be the best idea right now." Everyone chuckled and nodded in agreement, I couldn't help but snicker slightly at Vera. I had never seen her so in charge before, it was almost like this injustice brought out a different side of her. "Now, Kat has some words for you." Vera handed the bullhorn off to Kat.

"Yes hello! Most of y'all know me as Kat, Bee

to some. I use they/them pronouns." Everyone erupted in cheers. "Yeah, thank you. Alright, once we get to the school we will picket for about half an hour until staff arrives, this is to help get our juiceds flowing and moving." Leave it to Kat to make an itinerary for a protest, I crossed my arms and watched intently, no one seemed surprised. Was this normality for a protest? "Around the time people arrive will be about a hour before the meeting will take place, we will spend this hour welcoming speakers to tell their stories. We have sign-ups already but not quite enough to take up the hour. Rayne here will be holding a sign-up sheet if you want to, the one there in the lesbian crop top and shorts! She will need your name and a brief description about what you'll speak about. Veronica here is my muscle and will remove you if you go off topic or become rowdy." I held up the clipboard with sign-up list and smiled. "Wait to sign up until we get up the hill to the school." I nodded as I watched them continue to speak. "Then once the meeting starts for the faculty we begin to picket again, sit in, and while we do that Veronica and Viola will go inside the building and put a paper X on all the restrooms. Remember, I know Veronica mentioned it but we need to be respectful. No vandalism, no slurs, no aggression. How you react reflects on each of us four because we organized this, more drastically on me and Veronica, my muscle." They said muscle again this time as a sharp reminder and Vera waved again at the mentioned of her name. "Now for our fae in charge, the beautiful and intelligent Viola." Vi waved excitedly as she jumped toward the bullhorn, standing in the back of the Bronco to compete with here 4'11 stature.

"Hi everyone!" Every said hi back and waved. "My name is Viola, or Vi! I go by she/they! You all know me as the weird one with the elf ears and glitter make-up! But what you don't know about me is that I was raised by not one but two loving and amazing gender-fluid parents." I smile thinking about Vi and Reilly, the stories in my mom's book. "My dad looks feminine and masculine, naturally, so no matter what, comments were sent their way about the restrooms they used. My mom binded their chest and still got nasty looks no matter where the went to use the bathroom or dressing room. Honestly, so much blabber about something so simple as a bladder issue." They earned some laughs and nods of agreement. "So this means so much to them and they donated the water and will be running the food truck!" Cheered erupted and she nodded. "Everything will be discounted 50%, and all proceeds will go toward the budget for a gender neutral bathroom!" Everyone cheered and shouted. "This is such a great group! And I know Kat and others like them also really appreciate what we are doing but let's hear it for them too for organizing this shindig!" Everyong cheered again. "And lastly as our fun coordinator, I am here to let you know that bathroom or not - I will be hosting a campus bonfire tonight with smores, campus friendly drinks, and lawn games! Remember to drink plenty of fluids and if you go to use the restroom use the 'wrong' one." She said 'wrong' with finger quotes and a wink. Love you all and can't wait to win this with you for you!" Everyone cheered as Vera took the horn back and climbed into her Bronco.

"Let's march on up!" I jumped onto the side of the Bronco, smiling at Viola who smiled back squeezed my arm gently, she amazed me with something new every day. To see her standing up there and talking about what she believed in when she could barely act in a play in the sixth grade. Her yellow sundress and elf ears, space buns and flower crown. She wasn't that annoying girl anymore, she never was, she had always simply been herself - unapologetically her. I watched as people paraded behind us as we marched toward the school building, the crowd shouted

"F-R-E-E . IT DOESN'T MATTER WHERE WE PEE"

Last year a bunch of 20 somethings saying 'pee' would have made me giggle, then there I was shouting alongside them. I couldn't wait to be a part of this change, the right side of history.

PRIDE MONTH PROMPTS STANDARD BLOG RULES 📏🚨

⚠️ No incest or pedophilia - obviously we can’t keep you from writing it or creating art for it but it will not be reblogged by us.

No incest: This rule does not apply to distant cousins and such, as you might find in the LotR fandom. We draw the line at direct blood relations (siblings, parents, kids) and/or those with legal guardianship.

No pedophilia: This rule does not rule out fandoms that feature teenagers such as Harry Potter and The Hunger Games. It also doesn't mean you can't write about their time together as teenagers! The rule addresses ships where at the time someone is a minor and the other is an adult. - but since even that has some grey areas around the world, the rule is if you keep it SFW we don't really mind. If it turns NSFW though, we won't reblog it. We ask you be mindful of the legalities of the world/society/times your characters live in.

⚠️ No ship bashing and respect YKINMK - we’re all different and we all love different things. As long as it doesn’t go against rule #1 the ship is allowed.

⚠️ No AI creations of any kind - if it is discovered you are attempting to include AI creations in our event or AO3 Collection you will be BANNED.

⚠️ Tag correctly! - this means ratings, ship and provided archive warning options if you are posting to AO3. However we do encourage you to tag other things like trigger warnings (like cheating & unhappy endings) and (pure) smut, etc as well regardless of where you post your content!
