“This poem is, at it’s most basic level, about my life as a trans boy. I’ve always felt a strong affinity to mythology and fairy tails, but while most kids were drawn to either the hero or the damsel he saved, I found that the tricksters were much more interesting. Not always the bad guys, mind you. I never much liked The Evil Queen or Jafar or Captain Hook, but the characters like the Cheshire Cat or Rumpelstiltskin not only interesting but in some cases even relatable. (Don’t worry I’m not going to kidnap any firstborns)

I’ve found that a lot of trans people, especially trans men, have had similar experiences. They didn’t want to be the princess, but they couldn’t be the prince, so they turned to a third category of oddities like themselves.

This poem was written about what it feels like to come out through the lens of a fairy tail life. It uses a lot of references to different stories, both classic and adapted ones, particularly the story of Rumpelstiltskin. (There’s 7 fairy tales all together, can you guess them all?) Unlike the happily ever after most heroes get, or the horrible demise that meets the villain, Rumpelstiltskin just leaves, finding his way in the world and trying to make the best of life, even if that means playing a few tricks...”

To say or not to say: QUEER.

The word queer describes an identity which transcends normative gender and

sexuality. It is an umbrella term used to describe everyone from gay men and lesbian women, trans men and women, to the agender, gender nonconforming, and everything else in between.

Queer is known as ‘the label without labels’ because many believe that it offers the freedom to identify as something that leaves room for fluidity and openness.

We’ve had many inquiries pertaining to the progress of HORIZON and where we stand with the project at the moment.

For those who don’t know, HORIZON is the first visual novel projektfealty will be releasing. It’s based on the television series ‘the hundred’.

Our goal in creating Horizon remains to provide the fans with better representation, complete storylines, and a sense of dignity and agency.

This project is huge-- much larger than expected. To give you an idea of the magnitude, every story arc has a chapter written with 10-12 original scenes. There are 13 chapters and choices that change the direction of every arc. This means we’ve ended up with over a hundred scenes and a limited number of artists willing to help, or even discount work.

To make this project a success and not compromise on the quality, we need time and support.  

We apologize for the long wait. We hope you stick around to see what we have coming your way.

We are dedicated to this project and promise we are diligently working on it in the background!
