Fearmonium - Release!

Finally it Happened!

Fearmonium is a psychedelic metroidvania where suspense intertwines with humour. Beginning the game as an unpleasant memory, you must progress and become a true phobia by breaking through all boundaries to uncover the most hidden corners of Max's mind. 

The whole game will unfold in the inner world of a boy who once saw several clowns at a fair. Their images secured by support of Depression are making their way into the depths of his consciousness through the nightmare, meeting Max’s memories on their way, anxieties and bright images. Will the clowns be able to supplant all objective fears of Max and take the place of his main horror?

- A huge map of Max’s consciousness, woven from abstract images and half-forgotten memories; - Classic and hand-drawn frame-by-frame animation; - Dynamic battles with combo attacks and a variety of unique abilities; - Information about the process of the formation of new phobias and the nature of human consciousness; - Memorable enemies, whose images reflect what Max saw in the real world; - The answer to the question: does a phobia always cause irreparable harm, or can its presence change life for better?

The game is developed by one person - Slava Gris, inspired by music from Expecte Amour. Fearmonium is a mix of skills of self-taught artist who has received the master's degree of Psychology.

I can't say that my previous speedpaint of promoart "hyped", but I liked a lot the process of recording it so I made another one. I drew the whole game like this!

Several days till the release... Oh my.By the way, I do agree with one of my characters - I never felt any nostalgia about my childhood. I've got a nice childhood though, but anyway - I love being adult much more.

It’s been a long time since I didn’t upload anything in here...

I’m continue working on my game “Fearmonium”. Here is another stage. Do you remember that we play as a phobia in a teenager's mind? Fantasizing is one of the common ways to protect from neurosis. So we will need to break through old fairy tales that Max read in a childhood.

Concept of Demon I made for the contest.

The aim was to draw a concept of demon in his “calm” and “final” form. I saw so many people draw other people but with horns and wings so I decided to draw a demon-umbrella.

The description:

An elegant cane umbrella, created by an unknown master in the late nineteenth century, was meant to serve as a graceful addition to the image of the ladies of the past era. But this man-made product, revealed on a certain day and at a certain hour, from such a practical accessory turned into the fiend of the ancestors of evil. Its true demonic essence subjugated both the body and the consciousness of young ladies. Becoming the victims of manipulation, the girls did the will of sinister forces, turning from socialites to the culprits of mysterious murders and other unkind acts. This umbrella was lost many years ago, and nowadays it is probably gathering dust in the backyards of some cozy antique shop in the silent expectation of a new victim.

I'm done with it. Sometimes it was fun to draw, sometimes I got not enough time to finish the drawing but because of #365daysofart challenge I was forced to upload unfinished or just shitty piece in here. However, I will continue to draw some random stuff but definitely not so often. Thank you for your likes and support!
