I will never get over Fang Runin who didn’t have the privilege of having a heart. She destroys her uterus and any chance of having a family and writes to no one in her hometown because she can’t afford to be distracted from her studies the way that her classmates can. The people around her open up about their past and their feelings and she can’t comfort them, she can only tell them to be stronger because that’s all anyone ever told her. She falls in love with someone who betrays her because his whole life’s purpose is creating a future that she can’t exist in. She actively refuses to see her enemies as people because she couldn’t live with the choices she made if she stopped to think. She couldn’t even hang onto the love she had for her best friend, the one person she loved more than anyone and swore to always protect, because she is so consumed by rage and grief and despair that in the end, she kills both him and herself.

The tragedy of Fang Runin is that she was never allowed to have a heart so she stopped considering having one to be a possibility. Everyone around her told her that her life is not her own and no one gave her a chance to be anything but a peasant or a soldier. Peasants and soldiers don’t have the privilege of love and safety and comfort. Rin’s birthright is anger and violence. And that is what kills her.

But also if Damian actually isn't going to he Robin anymore (which I doubt), TIM IS STILL FUCKING ROBIN ARE YOU SERIOUS??? DC GIVE HIM A PROPER STORYLINE AND OWN TITLE😭😭😭 also give him his luxurious longer hair again... Also three cheers, Damian's spiky short hair is BACK. Also new pet alert lol. Add that to the inordinate list of unusal animal companions.

Damian considering being in the medical field is very interesting... But why did that revelation have to come within a fight with Bruce? Why does everything have to be a fight with him?

Anyway, bringing up Damian's 'unremarkable' grades sounds very out of character with my, and pretty much everyone else's, understanding of his character. Is this the same kid who showed off his knowledge when he was going to Jon's school in Super Sons? The same kid who demanded points to be added to his PERFECT SCORE? Unremarkable grades??

Also, the "normal" life problem doesn't really fit for Damian. Son of the Bat, Damian? Son of the DEMON? Maybe for Tim, since his upbringing was arguably the most normal in the family, as well as his indoctrination as Robin. But it feels out of place for Damian, at least in my opinion.

ALSO! Wow they're actually talking!! It's nice seeing Jason again, but he wasn't really necessary for the comic... BUT BUT BUT it's interesting to see their dynamic as compared to Bruce and Damian's. I love Jason's dialogue. Very very double edged. I also like how the story is portraying him as someone willing to help, as someone who says thank you lol

Great art as always! Robin teen angst is mandatory, stop drawing Jason's hair like THAT, Bruce please talk to your children more often. All 6 of them. Please and thank you!
