Haunted by the Thoughts falls under the contemporary fiction genre, with strong elements of psychological drama and mental health fiction. It also incorporates aspects of literary fiction, as it explores deep emotional and personal themes through introspective and vivid storytelling. Additionally, the inclusion of the Norse goddess Rán introduces a subtle mythological or magical realism layer, blending realism with spiritual and symbolic elements.

Here’s another passage from my book.
The wind whipped her hair around her face, and she stared down at the river, watching the dark water rush past below her. It seemed so peaceful, almost inviting. But as much as she wanted to jump, something held her back. Maybe it was Grace, maybe it was the small, flickering hope that life could still change, still get better.
But then the memories would flood back, like a tidal wave, and she felt herself sinking again. The pain, the loss—it was all too much. Her body, her mind, everything felt like it was betraying her. The chronic pain was unbearable most days, and no matter what she did, it never got better. And the hysterectomy… God, that had been the final nail in the coffin.
She’d felt like less of a woman after that. Like something vital had been stolen from her. The future she’d imagined, with more children, more family… gone in an instant. And now, menopause at thirty? The hot flashes, the mood swings, the emotional weight that came with it—it had left her feeling like she didn’t even recognize her own body anymore.

I found my editor, and she does amazing work, and is very involved and open and communicative. If anyone out there is writing stories, and needs an editor, I highly recommend her.

Regarding my book “Haunted by the Thoughts:
Haunted by the Thoughts is not just a work of fiction—it is a deeply personal reflection of my own experiences. While the names and details in this book have been changed to protect privacy, the struggles with mental health, grief, and trauma are real and shared by many. This story is for anyone who has ever felt alone in their pain, who has questioned their worth or struggled to find hope. You are not alone.
In this book, I hope readers will find a message of strength, resilience, and the possibility of healing. Mental health challenges can be overwhelming, and for some, seeking help can feel like an impossible step. I want to remind you—whether you are struggling personally or supporting a loved one—that it is okay to not be okay, and it is even more okay to reach out for help. The journey toward healing begins with that first brave step, no matter how small it may seem.
The takeaway of Haunted by the Thoughts is simple but powerful: don’t jump. No matter how dark things may seem, remember that there is always hope ahead, even when it feels impossible to see. Life, with all its twists and turns, has so much to offer you. Death comes for all of us, but there’s no need to rush toward it. You have many things left to experience, to love, and to create.
Your battles may feel insurmountable at times, but I promise you, you are stronger than you think. Healing is not a destination, but a journey—one step at a time. The darkness may feel all-encompassing, but know that you hold the candle. Even a small light can pierce through the shadows.
If you or someone you love is struggling, please reach out. There is help available, and there is strength in seeking support. You are worthy of love, support, and the time it takes to heal. Don’t let the darkness consume you. You can win this battle. You are not alone.

Another passage from my book Haunted by the thoughts.
The tears came now, hot and fast, blurring her vision. She let them fall, let them soak her cheeks as she stared down at the water, wondering if it would wash all her pain away. She thought about writing a note—she’d started one several times—but the words never seemed right. What could she even say? How do you explain a lifetime of pain in a few short sentences?

I’m writing a book, based around my experiences with life, just made fiction. Here’s a little bit from the book. This one I had more time to write it out instead of just 30 minutes. And if I can post more pieces from the book too. And the book is revolved around my life, and somethings can get triggering in the book, I’ll try not to post those ones, but still everyone has their own triggers. So if it is a trigger, be cautious and make sure to care for yourself use coping skills, speak to trusted people and professionals, just take care of yourself first.
“Am I really doing this?” Anne thought to herself as she steadied her trembling hands against the cold metal railing of the bridge. The wind whipped through her hair, chilling her to the bone, but she barely noticed. Her breath came in shallow gasps as she stared down at the dark waters below, the river churning violently beneath the moonlight. It looked so easy—just a few steps forward and everything would be over. No more pain. No more sleepless nights. No more pretending.

Something I wrote while in Partial hospitalization program, feel free to share your thoughts and opinions and suggestions. I wrote this in 30 minutes:
When I listen to music, I feel transported to a place I crave to be at. Where I’m on a boat traveling the seas, seeking adventure and treasure only to find comfort in a small cottage on top of a hill, with lush green grass surrounding it, overlooking the sea, with a cool breeze, slightly cloudy. Enjoying the sights. At peace.
I crave the life of peace with a little bit of chaos. But it seems like my life is mostly chaos with little peace. I yearn for the knowledge of how to get that kind of peace. I understand that I have to find it myself. I’ve lived through so much, I thought death would be my peace.
Turns out, death is my chaos. Finding the beauty in life is the peace I crave. Finding the right people to love and support who will also do the same for me, is what I truly want, not death. So why do I feel like death is the peace? It’s just shown me how chaotic it is. Death will come for me some day, why am I trying to rush it?
I’ve learned that rushing things, you lose sight of the beauty life can offer. I’ve learned that the real peace is different for everyone, but death is the same. I do have a lot to offer the world, I can be important, if I keep reminding myself. That’s where the work comes in. If I can make peace my ultimate goal, maybe I can be brave enough to live, despite my bad circumstances I grew up with.
I’m a century plant, it just takes time to bloom. I just haven’t bloomed yet.
