This this THIS. I have COPD and scar tissue in my lungs, so I know the feeling. A general PSA for those who don’t know — it’s impossible for lungily-challenged (yes it’s a word shh) people NOT to smell & feel smoke if it’s in the area. It lingers and causes issues for us for the remainder of the day or even longer.

Also, chronically lung-challenged people are not wimps, we are not buzz-kills, and we are not making things up because “boo-hoo we cannot smoke and you can”. Smoke physically HURTS. It’s something you must know before becoming friends with us. We don’t gripe about it because we’re assholes; we genuinely cannot handle it.

It. Hurts. A. Lot.

So if someone asks you to please not smoke around them because they have asthma or COPD or just plain don’t like it, please be respectful. You might like the nicotine hit, but it won’t kill you to wait to get it till you’re well out of range. I have dealt with weeks of severe health relapse because someone I knew and trusted didn’t listen to me when I said please don’t smoke around me. Keep in mind that sometimes me just walking away isn’t an option and it’s not fair. Five minutes, or even thirty seconds of being exposed to cigarette smoke can mean the difference between me being able to face work in the morning and me being forced to stay home because I am sick.

And like @altheterrible said: I will get justifiably pissed off if you smoke around me. Just saying. If you can’t respect my health, our friendship will be in question because it’s nothing to you, but it’s everyday for me. Keep in mind.

Everyone is different. Please be respectful.

Today is lung health day. Heads up: I have one lung. If you smoke around me, I'll get pissy. Yes, this includes weed. Yes, this includes vapes.

Please don't smoke near the entrances to buildings, in bus stops, or anywhere else people will get stuck breathing in your smoke. It can be physically damaging and it's really quite scary when you can't breathe, even for a few seconds.

I will say Neil Gaiman was right (shocker I know) in that not giving Dream his comicbook eyes minus some scenes was the right move.

Because those moments when we see a glimpse of his eyes like that, they are so much more effective at conveying the reminder: This is not a human, he is beyond what you understand.

SECOND SEASON PLEASE. I NEED THIS.

The second Matthew gains shoulder perching privileges he becomes the most obnoxious flying fucker ever seen, boasting around that he has a really close relationship with Lord Morpheus and he could put in a good word for you if you'd want to. That until Merv tells him that Jessamy used to cuddle up and take naps inside Dream shirt and all hell breaks loose.

Yes! I wanna see all of it! And I’m not alone — there are thousands of us. I’m on my seventh round of watching the show. Maybe eighth, I’ve lost count. Everyone keep watching because there is so much yet to come and the storyline is incredible, if you take the time to watch it.

Ok folks. We gotta watch The Sandman. Again and again. Have it running in the background whenever you’re on your laptop.

Seriously.

It is ridiculous that this is what it takes. But “engagement” matters. Especially binging engagement.
