Thoughts on bats (the animal) in the batcave

Do you think the cave bats are just constantly trying to beg for food in the cave? Like Tim’s eating a sandwich and he looks over are there’s three fuzzy faces trying to do their best puppy eyes. Dick walking away from an apple and coming back three minutes later to find it being licked and he has to shoo them away. Getting bold enough to land on Bruce (he hates it) because the pita he’s holding isn’t his. It’s theirs.

Bruce told the kids not to feed the bats but I’m sure every single Robin definitely did.

Bruce really really tries to but he fails each time in not feeding the bats. a bat will stare at him with big wet eyes and yeah he thinks they are gross and their hand wing fingers freak him out, but it looks kinda cute and he gives the little thing but a small bit of watermelon and omg now there’s six of them staring at him.

There’s a three bat naming limit to prevent one robin from monopolising the bat names. Jason named four and a not nonsignificant amount of robins think that’s why he died.

Everyone agrees Bruce has the worst names.

Bruce doesnt want to learn the bats’ names but he does.

i really do love when comics play around with stuff that their characters wear casually. bc i love picking out random bits of characterization. like steph wears a #80 minnesota vikings jersey in robin 71 which, realistically, is probably because the color scheme is purple and gold. however now in my head steph is just a die hard minnesota vikings fan (specifically cris carter for some reason bc he was #80 in the 90s). i bet she paces around angrily during the superbowl and has to shush people who talk during the game because they’re just there to socialize. not her tho. this shit is do or die. the lone minnesota fan trapped in giants and jets territory

I like the way you think OP.

Of course the image is fun to think about the little robins overthrowing Bruce. (I adore an au where all the robins are about the same age and Bruce gets to be a father of many spontaneously. Like “woe babies be upon ye”) but it’s also fun to think of his grown ass kids trying to overthrow their own man. (Please kids be careful with your old dad. His bones are fragile and his muscles hurt).
