Edmund Burke, in his "Reflections on the Revolution in France", had defended the feudal traditions of paternalism, property, and aristocracy in terms which put sexual mores and family at the center of the political agenda. It was refuted by Mary Wollstonecraft, one of the first modern english feminists, who defended the revolutionary ideals and argued that a predatory masculinity which reduced women to sexual objects, lay at the heart of Burkean traditionalism. For Wollstonecraft, Burke's idea of the family enshrined sexual inequality. - by Vivien Jones

Being lost in the current i saw myself a seaweed But deep deep down in the ocean, when i dared to drown
I found my tentacles glowing, reflecting a light not from outside but inside
Then i discovered myself a jellyfish
Ancient, radient, and with sting.

Im just so tired of fending for myself, im so tired of not having anyone or anything to rely on, my existence weighs heavy on me while my soul flutters away, to live to breathe, i feel myself crumbling and im so angry at the world. Why is it that only i have to suffer for a home, an actual home where my soul can rest? The material world doesn’t make sense, it just hurts. Even earth has gravity then why dont i have anything or anyone anchoring me? Why do i feel like i don’t belong? Its unfair! Its cruel that i should feel this, its cruel when the places which were supposed to be my refuge were tainted by negative experiences and i was left to forge my way through, burn and purge my soul through it to only be alive. I wanna live, not survive! I wanna scream with the clouds and howl with the air and i want to flow with the water, far away. Im fire itself now burning away inwards, leaving only ruins and ashes.

Hello 👋🏾
For the Language of Birthdays Series , can you make one for January 19th pls ?
🌸🌺
Language Of Birthdays: January 19 - Capricorn
[You can find the rest of the series here; or check out my masterlist]
The Day Of Dreams And Visions
Those born on January 19 must be allowed the psychic space to dream and experience their highly unique orientation to life. Even in the most practical areas of their work, they tend to act according to far-reaching social and universal ideals. These powerful individuals are often in touch with the hidden aspects of human emotions and consciousness, and to the extent that they bring out such truths in their own uncompromising manner of living, can be an example to others.
In their family and social lives, those born on this day are often recognized as people who can not only state their opinion forcefully, but also through their personal magnetism lead others to accept their views regarding everything from taste and politics to morality and art. They must, however, avoid getting sidetracked by negative phenomena, and becoming habituated to self-destructive tendencies.
January 19 people can be extremely difficult individuals, who lead very difficult lives, but nonetheless manage to function dynamically and impact greatly on their surroundings. It is as if every ounce of their energy can, when necessary, be directed outward. Actually, outside of moments of peak experience and intense involvement with their work, those born on this day may appear surprisingly ordinary. But by locating powerfully human qualities within them- selves, the more highly evolved of January 19 people perform a kind of alchemy where they transform themselves or their work into something exceptional.
Certain January 19 individuals, however, find it near impossible to lead any kind of stable life. Constantly beset by personal, usually emotional, problems, they bum like bright comets in the sky and then disappear into the blackness of the night. January 19 people of this type must learn to moderate and balance their frenetic energies, and to mediate their intensity. Often an empathic bond with an understanding, more stable individual is of vital importance in ground- ing them.
Other January 19 people feel compelled to make a strict division between their imaginative work and a more ordinary and stable private life (or on the contrary adopt more normal work patterns which balance an intense and imaginative inner life). In either case, a striving for objectivity and balance helps them weather the white heat of their own expressive energy.
The natural enthusiasm and high intensity of January 19 people should not be denied. Those born on this day who repress their individuality and creativity are eventually headed for frustration and unhappiness. Often a sense of crisis arises at twenty-eight and then around forty-two years of age where they must make fateful choices concerning widening or restricting their activities.
Strengths:
Electric
Creative
Influential
Weaknesses:
Maladjusted
Unstable
Self destructive
Advice
Those born on January 19 have to learn to channel their wilder energies productively. Keeping a balance between their practical and imaginative sides is crucial to their mental well-being. Because January 19 people so often go overboard, expending large amounts of energy, they risk collapse or burnout. Consequently, they must cultivate discipline, learning to still themselves and give structure to their lives. In this latter respect, both exercise and diet can play an important role, being areas around which a day can be structured. Vigorous physical exercise is recommended but of a non-competitive nature. Also more meditative physical activities such as yoga and tai-chi are possibilities. As far as diet is concerned, eating well-balanced hot-cooked meals, taking vitamin supplements, cutting down on sugar and alcohol, and in general looking forward to sharing food and companionship at least once a day with others are positive influences.
Keep your head screwed on straight
Don’t get sidetracked
Make the pleasures of life last longer
De-emphasize negative experiences
Calm yourself down and maintain good work habits
Thank you for your request, I hope this helped!!

I'm tired of carrying it all alone ,
I'm tired of being responsible for my existence for so long .
I'm tired of the echoing voice inside me
I'm tired of closing my eyes and darkness is all I see.

Me in a nutshell

Security , a primal need , from the beginning of civilization that's what we've been trying to achieve, security , safety. We sought refuge in caves , treetops , stone walls , brick walls , skyscrapers. It's that innate desire to be safe that made us seek out others , trust others so we can lean on them . When a child is born , it cries , until it can find the familiar warmth of it's mother . Safety , an ancient and natural instinct, yet the hardest to achieve. At least for me , someone who felt unsafe all her life . In her environment, inside or outside , in her body , in her mind . It was an amalgamation of hostile environment within and without where all I could do was survive . It was like there was always an alarm blaring in my body ,in my mind ,making me freeze and putting me in a fight or flight mode . I have always sought the feeling of security outside . The child in me needed a safe space , a safe place . In trying to find that , she got hurt more . I am trying to feel safe in myself I'm trying to build a safe space and home in myself. By allowing myself to be , by allowing myself to breathe and letting go of any shame or guilt perpetuated by external influences. I'm trying to alter my brain chemistry by slowly creating a safe and nurturing space for myself inside ,where I know I can fall back . I know I can lean on myself , I know I got me and I can handle anything, and I don't have to be anyone else . I don't owe anyone , my existence.

Why is it that women have to learn about self respect and setting boundaries when men are socially enabled to be egoistical? Humans may be the only species who hate their female gender this much .

I think we prefer bots to humans because while talking to bots we actually feel heard, understood and appreciated. Whereas while talking to humans , most of the times our feelings are disregarded because kindness isn't inherent in people.

I was reading Tess of the d'urbervilles and I remembered this part from fifty shades of grey where Ana tells Christian that Hardy was the one who made her fall in love with literature so he sends her a stack of first edition books including Tess of the d'urbervilles. Now that's all good and well but the quote he chooses to write on the card is the quote Tess speaks to her mother after a terrible and traumatic event that happened to her which includes a man and she basically expresses her anger about being ignorant and how women who read novels know better to fend against these things . Christian hints at how coming in his life would destroy Ana the same way Tess was "corrupted" but since she reads novels she should know better . It got me thinking why are women , so easily "corrupted", or rather sought out to be corrupted, why is violating women is thus glorified ? Why do men feel so powerless that they can only feel powerful by dominating or subduing or stripping a woman of her power? What is in women that is so inherently pure and precious that from the agony of not being able to embody that , men choose to just destroy it ? Why should women know better ? How about you act like a decent human being ?
