It was an extraordinary sight to see—all five of them the same age, from the past and future, striding down the dim dungeon corridors with the speed and likeness of a train moving through a dark tunnel.

Ron gulped as he caught a fleeting glimpse of Wormtail under a passing gas lamp.

"Don't catch on very fast—" Sirius huffed, dark hair elegantly trailing along behind him, "—do you?"

Ron's ears flushed red. "Well how would you feel—if your mate's dad's mates came up to you—looking twenty years younger!"

Sirius and Regulus' love language is acts of service but for different reasons

Sirius bc until meeting his friends at hogwarts, he believed that love was something to be earned and that his parents would only appreciate him if he did things to deserve it.

Regulus bc Sirius was the first person to love him unconditionally so he mimicked the way sirius showed his love when giving it to others

Both of them being baffled when people give them love and affection without them doing anything for it

Maniacal, sinister, clinically insane, volatile, off his fucking rocker

I'm so incorporating this into my fic I'm working on

okay im projecting but hc where sirius has severe ocd post-azkaban

like real ocd not the funny quirky ocd that most people think it is

he takes an hour in the shower, washing his hair three times a day and his body five times (odd numbers only, if five doesn't feel right he goes to seven, then nine) scrubs his hands raw after touching literally anything until the skin is cracked and bleeding and it's painful to close them into fists, never feels fully clean again (especially being back in that house where he always felt was dark and dirty and where his family always told him he was a dirty bloodtraitor)

he's not used to having objects around him after 12 years in an empty cell so he's very particular about the way things are arranged (Tilting portraits uneven bc he can't stand the pristine and orderliness to it that his mother demanded), picking up and putting objects down repeatedly until it feels right, walking counterclockwise around any furniture in his path,

most ocd people have to constantly check doors are locked but Sirius is the opposite, always making sure doors are open or unlocked so he isn't trapped in

a fear of acting the wrong way around others or saying something he doesn't mean to say after so many years of no human interaction

hoarding objects of no value or use just because he didn't have anything for so many years

the intrusive thoughts about hurting himself or others and hating himself for them, fearing that he's a terrible person and that they're right to be wary of him

and being in the 90s in the wizarding world he would just be written of as crazy or "another black that went mad" bc he wouldn't know what it was

PSA regulus couldnt have been a December baby yall

Mathematically speaking, if he was a year below the marauders in hogwarts he'd have had to be born between sept 2nd, 1960 and sept 1st, 1961 to start school in 1972 (going off of sirius being born November 3rd, 1959 and starting hogwarts in 1971, bc remember they have to be 11 on or before September 1st the year they start).

But we know that Regulus was born in 1961, so sept 2nd through December 31st are out of the question. It had to be between Jan 1 and sept 1, 1961

Unless of course you hc him to have been two years below the marauders in hogwarts and died after his sixth year or during his seventh year and not after graduation, then by all means proceed with your December baby Reggie hcs

Tried to mirco crochet a single tiny granny square and I have firmly concluded that that person on TikTok making a whole blanket out of micro squares can only be doing it as a cry for help

my hot take is that i think Gary Oldman and David Thewlis were actually the perfect ages to be cast as Sirius and Remus. They may have been in their 40s playing characters that were in their 30s but I think it actually contributed really well to the way that Sirius and Remus were very worn down and aged beyond their years, struggling with stress and ptsd.

Sirius having spent 12 years in Azkaban with no excercise, little sunlight, and poor diet. Remus having spent 12 years in poverty with a condition that greatly affected both his physical and mental health.

They were definitely not supposed to look young and hot and healthy like they were in their prime. Gary and David's ages made Sirius and Remus look realistic without making them look too old still.
