It's not a full genderbender but only the robins are girls (except steph ofc).

I fully believe Jane would chop off her hair because begin a homeless childe in crime alley is already hell let as a little girl.

I really wanted to draw young f!Jason mostly because he already used to dress pretty formally around the manor , so Jane in a cute dress and a little red headband is just too adorable not to draw .

the fact that Jason's storyline already follows the usual cultivation Chinese lightnovel Beats , he is literally a blackened protagonist, someone that goes from a joyful and mentally stable-ish kid to a more of a gray area;

He is a street rat rescued from a life of petty crime by a morally rightious marshall artist that takes him under his wing and teach him tho ropes of begin a hero.

An (arguably) pure and innocent deciple accused of an act that's against the morals upheld by his teacher causing a rift in their relationship .

The deciple dies in the middle of a brave but foolish act (protecting his mother ) , leading to the teacher to mourn their loss. Yet not learning from the tragedy.(Even erecting a memorial , commonly a sword , is often included in those stories)

The once deceased deciple Comes back for vengeance and is now under the influence of a sinister power (cursed flower , demonic sword, old man bathwater.... )

There are more especially if the old mentor is written as the villain but I will stop here for now .

Y’all, I need a regression/transmigration fic of Jason. Like he dies, finds out he is a comic book character and is reborn.

Given the many variations of his life that he experienced before he was reborn, let’s go with the Ace!Jason cause it’d be too complicated to have romance given the mentality/physical body differences.

Batman Annual 11. is. wild

Basically the Penguin is arguing an appeal to get out of prison and Bruce decides to argue he hasn't really reformed. Meanwhile Jason's not invested in any of this so he's just reading comics in the waiting room.

I love the Penguin's custom prison uniform. Batman even mentions it.

But yeah, Whisper, the comic Jason's reading, came out in 86, by Steven Grant and Rich Larson. Here's the plot summary:

Alexis Devin was trained in the martial arts by her Japanese stepfather to make her healthy, and it saved her when she became a target. She thought that putting on a mask would make her a superhero... but she's about to learn that while the world needs heroes, they aren't the kind you see in comic books.

All kidding aside, Bruce does change his mind later, but only after RUINING PENGUIN'S LIFE but we'll get to that. Also saying "talking is for the birds" to a kid called Robin strikes me as remarkably insensitive.

Bruce's OH PLEASE cracks me up. He's so mad.

Basically , Penguin got himself a gf through corresponding with her while in prison--and no she wasn't one of those people who writes love notes to criminals, they met through an ornithological personal ad and bonded over their love of birb. She insisted he reform:

Look at all the bird puns she's making, they're made for each other. The way his nose goes to her ear...

Bruce won't chill out though so he goes to see her and she's all "I can fix him" and he's all "no you can't!!!" I love that he actually knocks on her front door and asks to come in though, so polite.

And then Bruce ruins everything... he goes to Penguin's factory and notices the employees are other criminals and there are heavily armed guards. He assumes this means the factory is a front for smuggling or something and bursts in.

Jason totally hits this guy in the balls with an umbrella.

BUT NO. The Penguin just also wanted to give his fellow ex-cons and opportunity to reform, and the guards were so no one would find out about his employees since it's a violation of his parole. And since it is a violation and he was caught he has to go back to prison now.

Bruce does feel bad, so this time he argues for the Penguin to be released...and loses again. Jason is still chilling in the waiting room, but he isn't reading a comic this time, presumably out of respect for the Penguin's misfortune.

But Bruce does go and tell Pengy's ladylove that he didn't do anything wrong and arranges a visitation, so. there's that.

Good for them. I need to know if the Penguins fiance was forgotten after this story or we ever saw her again. I would have loved to see that wedding.

anyway, I'm going through and reading all of Jason's post crisis Robin stuff, because I adore Robins and Jason is very cute in these and most DC writers don't bother to read this stuff so someone has to Some highlights from Batman #410 which covers Jason's training as Robin and first outing etc.:

Jason was joyful! Jason bought Bruce joy! This is such a basic thing to know about how he was as Robin but DC writers repeatedly get it wrong, why.

It's actually specified here that Jason dropped out of fifth grade, depending on if he was 10 or 11 then, it means he was out of school for 1-2 years. Despite this he managed to master computer science and other stuff in six months, smart little bean.

Though he loses it in subsequent appearances, he still notably has "street kid dialect" he was given in the previous two issues here too, dropping g's etc. No one ever really mentions it on panel, (and I doubt the writers put too much thought into the change) so my guess for the change would be he was either be subconsciously picking up the speech patterns of people around him or he made an active effort to change how he talks. It's interesting to think about.

Also notable is that he's pretty formal and polite with Bruce, especially in comparison to when they first met, addressing him as "Mr. Wayne", which comes up again.

Okay I checked and 1987 is the exact year Ducktales started airing, making it almost definite that's the specific duck thing Jason is referencing. Either he somehow managed to watch it while living on the streets or he watched it after moving in with Bruce. There's some trivia for you.

And yeah, Jason addressed Bruce as "Mr. Wayne" for his first six months living there, and only started calling him Bruce after Bruce asked him to, interesting to know and says a lot about what Jason's mindset was about living there at first, he was really making an effort to be polite and well behaved, wasn't willing to make any assumptions about their closeness, and seems really eager to please Bruce.
