This stuff right here is HEAVEN. 🍊🍋🍐🍇🍓🥒🥕🥑🥝🍍🍒🍎🍏 Late night grocery adventures are always a good time. No people to fight over the best carton of eggs with, no crowded lines, and freshly restocked veggies that won't be touched until morning. I love it. Stocked up on tons of veggies and fruits, and then got a "specialty" dark chocolate bar because, well, I wanted to. We didn't even venture past the produce and "natural living" section, which definitely cut down on the temptation to get cheat snacks for the week. I promise, if you stay out of the sections that always tempt you, you won't be tempted! Same goes with keeping certain foods in your house. If you're the kind of person who loves sweets, but you want to cut down on them, don't keep them in your house or at work. You'll be too tempted, and let's be honest, we all love a cheat snack here and there! Guess who has a parasite that's been giving them crazy breakouts as of late? Yeah! Me! So, now to take hella supplements and completely revamp my nutrition and diet. I'm moving to a true paleo diet, not the fad paleo diet that's been going around for so long, and I'm actually pretty excited. When I go home for break I'm going to pick up a bunch of venison, so until then, mostly vegan it is. There's a pretty great TED Talk about "true paleo" if you're ever interested. I had started noticing that my acne was strangely constant. I normally only break out under extreme stress or if I'm really sick. Lately it's been constant. There's not a day when I don't have some sort of bump on my face. I've also not been able to cut the way I normally do. All the things that have always worked just aren't. I thought it was a plateau at first, but then quickly realized it was something else. So I went to the doc! I'm excited to feel better, get my normal skin back, and also cut the way I'm supposed to. If you EVER notice something even a little off, hit up your doctor and get checked out. The smallest thing could be something that can morph into something completely destructive and dangerous. So. Tired. I had a 6 am flight which meant I had to be at the airport at 4, which meant I had to leave at 3, which meant I didn't go to sleep. Worked an 11 hour shift yesterday, came home to shower and pack, went out to the city with a new friend, came home, changed into comfy clothes, drove to the airport. Two things: 1. WHY are red eye flights a thing 2. WHY did I think it was a good idea Well, I get why. For both. But still. My head hurts, I'm hungry, I'm a little delirious, but I'm at my destination and I'm going to take a nap. A long nap. A REAL long nap. I didn't really eat anything since lunch yesterday, which was pasta and a vegan "buffalo chicken patty". I ate a protein cookie (wasn't great but had all my macros I needed) and drank some apple juice. I made sure to stretch a lot at every gate point though. That's the only thing that's gotten me through today. Make sure to take care of your body!! Especially when traveling!! It takes a toll, seriously. We all know those days when you want to just slump around, and that's fine, but remember your body will thank you more for some stretches than some slumps. Sometimes I go to stores to try on dresses I don't need and I try to pose in the mirror.👗💁 I've always struggled to accept my body. I still struggle. On a daily basis. It's hard to not have the "model-ideal" body. I've always been athletically built. When I was dancing 5 days a week and lifting the other 2 days, I was ridiculously fit. Like, maybe too fit for my age. When I got hurt in dance I had to stop. I lost a lot of muscle and it got replaced by fat. I never gained more than 10 pounds, but it felt bad to me. I lost my abs and got love handles. Not crazy ones, but enough to mess around with my self esteem. Bathing suits didn't fit right, pants were too big on my legs and too tight on my waist. The opposite of how it had always been before. I started to avoid mirrors. When I was finally able to start working out again, I started accepting my body again. It grows in different ways than it used to. It builds muscle faster than it used to. It communicates better with me now. It is stronger. Healthier. A little softer around the edges. And I'm about 30 pounds heavier than my "ideal weight". Though I've found that my old ideal is not my new. My new ideal is healthy. It's shred season (Kill. Me. Now.) so I added a lot more cardio to my workouts. Today I grouped upper body into one big thing, did higher volume, and managed to fit it all in an hour time span. Then I did an hour of cardio, but I split it up so I wouldn't get bored. I did ladder drills for 20 minutes, Stairmill for 15 at level 10, elliptical for 15, and stationary bike for 10. I'm exhausted!
