Hygge
Watercolor painting, part of a series exhibited in my first solo art show “Natural Magick”, in 2019. In this series, I had the chance to reflect on women’s relationship to Magick and Nature, and to depict it in a modern and happy way.

“Aradia“ ~ One of the main characters in italian Stregheria, Aradia was sent to Earth by her mother Diana, the Great Goddess of Witches and Fairies, to teach Witchcraft to Men and, thus, bring back the pagan religion. Here she represents the embrace of our own shadow, which might be scary, but makes us stronger and wiser.

“Skyclad“ ~ A recurrent (although controversial) theme in Witchcraft and Magick, “to be skyclad” represents, at least to me, a profound communion with nature. Something we’re desperately in need and which I myself have been seeking.

“Memento Vivere“ or “Alas, poor Yoric“ ~ Death counterposes the plant and fungal growth around it, inviting the observer to reflect: to live or not to live? That is the question.

“Lost (?)“ ~ One of the pieces I produced for a collective art exposition. In it I reflected upon the sensation of imobility that frequently accompanies who feel adrift or lost, as I felt earlier this year. Though aware of the world around her, the person feels entangled, cornered, unable to move in any direction - and does she even know in which direction to go? The entanglement, however, is natural, flourishes with time and brings new ideas and thoughts. One needs patience to know the right time to come back into the world.
.  :  .
Done in Canson Watercolor paper (~300g/m2), graphite pencils, Pentel watercolors, Acrylex acrylic paints and indian ink (Pentel Brush Pen).
