Peter Quill has been on my mind since Imperial #1 came out, for better and for worse. Regardless, here鈥檚 a playlist of songs I鈥檓 PRETTY SURE I鈥檝e never seen associated with GOTG stuff (officially).

Why are Quill and Nova being written as if they鈥檙e acquaintances? Outside of the fact that just a few years ago they were bordering on a throuple relationship including Gamora, this just feels odd considering all of their history through Annihilation and Conquest. I mean the second picture here was just a few years ago lol. This bother anyone else?

Lorde - What Was That (No, seriously)
Trying to make head or tails of this song. I like a song writing structure that isn't obvious or predictable, and this track has this in spades. Even if initially, it has a hard time sticking in your mind as an earworm, something I find myself always looking for in a leading single from a new album, it entrenches itself after a few listens. I don't think this breaks the Lorde mold by any means, but it does stick out as a new(ish) sound. It still holds onto a stripped-down synth up until the chorus hits, which does have a nice release. I will say on first listen to the beat drop it was giving very 2010's beat drop, (which is a little ironic since I feel like standing out from this kind of sound is what made her stand out during her debut), but I think it is more interesting than just a rehashing of a sound she got popular amongst. Subjectively I'm just sick of Lorde talking about being 17. 6.5/10
