Sooo...This year is an actual rollercoaster of stress for me. Legit no year was like this before. So sorry that I am so silent, but I'm really trying guys ! Q-Q

DID YALL SEE HOW LITTLE FANFICS THERE ARE ABOUT DEMON ROAD ?!

I never thought there was so little ! I was already shocked with Skulduggery Pleasant having so little fanfics and most of it were only Valduggery fics... Like honestly, WHERE IS THE REST ?! WHERE ARE THE ONES THAT WANT TO KICK RAVEL'S ASS AND PUT THE READER IN THE PLACE, TO MAKE MANY SATISFIED OR JUST CHANGE THE GUY, SO HE NEVER GOT MANIPULATED IN THE FIRST PLACE TO MURDER GHASTLY AND ANTON ?! Q-Q

Yes...Anton Shudder and Ghastly Bespoke are my most FAVORITE Characters, so WHAT ?! T-T

Still...on AO3 were just 5 or 9 fanfics of DEMON ROAD and only ONE was with the Reader if I remeber correctly and THREE were Skulduggery and Demon Road Crossovers (Very cool and creative by the way), of which TWO got NEVER finished !

On Tumblr is only ONE and that is the SAME one on AO3 and Wattpad I don't even check anymore... But REALLY ?! WHY SO LITTLE ?! Did no one like MILO ?! He was the COOLEST Character in the whole TRILOGY of Demon Road !

(By the way...Demon Road is also made by Derek Landy.)

There was ONE fanfic that AVOIDED Milo's death and the rest were some fluff and angst, but WHY only ONE ?! MILO was awesome ! T-T

I would LOVE to kick Byrd's FUCKING ASS for shooting him AFTER he wasn't a Demon anymore ! Oh I would have smacked her to hell MYSELF ! As soon as he was cleansed by Demoriel (I hope he is called that in english too...) himself, that witch SHOT MILO ! HELL NO !

It's also completely reasonable to spot the pattern considering he's confirmed to have read enough of your blog to spot me calling him names. I also have a story like this, back when the SP forums fansite was a thing I posted before DoTL came out that it was possible Melancholia could be woken up to fight Darquesse. Cue Skulduggery coming up with the idea to wake up Melancholia to fight Darquesse and getting her killed. At the time I felt smart, but maybe he literally just read my post.

I totally wouldn't exclude the possibility that he took that idea from the forums. I mean, he took a bunch of plotlines from other franchises and I've heard that apparently some stuff that happened are like from Valduggery fanfics (I think Skul meeting Val as a baby was one such instance and an instance that made the ship even worse).

And I'm definitely not the only one that got trolled. Like I said, I think one FO got named after another Tumblr user. And he even did stuff like that in phase one too, where he wrote the self-inserts of his (often minor) fans into his book as one-night stands for Saracen and Serpine.

He's well known for doing stuff like this, like trolling and for being too responsive for his own good.

may I ask why you're against valduggery/refuse to write anything relating to it? I hope this doesn't come across aggressive, I'm just genuinely curious as I love your writing/blog and its a shame that you don't do any content relating to it

I’ll put this under a read more so the valdug fans (who are all lovely people so don’t use this as an excuse to go hate people) don’t have to see their ship being (potentially?) bashed

The main reason is that on the whole the pairing makes me deeply uncomfortable- as someone who has experienced grooming relationships with a similar dynamic, the whole concept of valduggery is mildly triggering for me and is also somewhat concerning, as I don’t think it’s a good idea to portray a child, who wasn’t even a teenager really when she met this almost father figure, entering a relationship with someone who practically raised her in some respects.

That does not mean I condone any hatred or abuse to valduggery shippers, it’s perfectly within their rights to ship whatever they want, but it’s just not for me and I really doubt it ever will be, hence why I prefer not to incorporate it into any of my work - but thank you for the respectful message all the same

1. What was your first OTP?

Rufy/Nami from One Piece. At eight I was obsessed with that anime, and I still ship them. Yes, I know Oda-sensei said he wouldn't put any romance in OP, but still, a girl can hope.

Another ship that caught my fancy when I was very, very young is Harry/Hermione (obviously from HP). Yep, I was a Harmony shipper; no, now I don't care at all about which side "won", but I'm still quite fond of them, for nostalgia's sake.

Last but not least, Vegeta/Bulma from Dragon Ball. I was ten when I watched the Sayan saga for the first time; it was transmitted on Italian national tv, and back then I had no access to Internet and streaming devices, obviously. (Great, now I feel old lol.) So I used to wait with bated breath for each episode, and I crushed so hard on Vegeta (I think he was my very first villain crush?), and I rooted for his redemption and for Vegebul to happen. Guess what? Toriyama-sensei's visionary mind really set him up with his main female lead, and from a genocidal alien prince he developed into a devoted husband and father (albeit still grumpy as hell). Needless to say, it was a very formative experience lol.

2. What is your current OTP?

The main pairings from my two original projects (they're both antivillain/hero ships btw). Also Batjokes, probably Reylo (even though I'm so unhappy about their resolution in TROS, u g h), Dong-Hoon/Ji-An from My Ahjussi (a beautiful Kdrama), Erik/Meg from The Phantom of the Opera (my favorite rarepair; you already know it, Fish, but for the people who have been following for a short time… don't ask)... and I guess that's it. I have a lot of long time favorite ships (Valduggery from the Skulduggery Pleasant series, Jaime/Brienne from ASOIAF, etc.), but these are currently on top of my mind more than any other.

4. What is/are your favorite trope(s)?

Enemies to lovers, obviously. There's no trope I love more, really, in any shape. My favorite is probably this one: "they're a monster and I'd kill them with my bare hands/ugh now we're forced to work together if we want to save our skins and/or defeat a common enemy so I guess in the meantime we'd have some talks while for once we aren’t actively try to slit each other's throat/actually we're so similar it's scary and I don't like this/they stand against everything I believe in but I kinda mourn the person they used to be or could be/I guess they're… tolerable when they are not actively trying to ruin my and everyone’s life and also I kinda respect them for being a Worthy Enemy/remember when I said I didn't like that we are so similar? I lied I don't want to like it but oops I actually do/idk exactly how we became kinda friends but well now I care and can't turn back/shit this might be more than just care/why them??? ffs why them?" and so on. (As you see, it’s pretty specific lol.) I mean that epic, beautiful romance of Enemies to Reluctant Allies to Maybe Friends to BFFs to Lovers. It's hard to pull off, but when it's good, it's good.

I love any other iteration of this trope, too: friends to enemies to lovers, lovers to enemies to lovers again, enemies with benefits… anything, really.

I also love Beauty and the Beast/Monster Romance, Villainous Crush, Death and the Maiden, Mutual Pining, Slow Burn, Arranged Marriage (exclusively when they're enemies tho 👀👀), Hurt/Comfort (a classic), Huddling for Warmth, and Stranded Together (again, especially when they're enemies). I also like the Amnesia trope, but 1. I tend to like it more when the amnesiac character is a former villain, a la Revan in Knights of the Old Republic (imagine the angst!), and 2. it must be well-executed and pivotal to the character's development (that's why it works better for villains), otherwise it's just useless drama and at worst a soap opera-ish retcon (see Vanya in The Umbrella Academy's season 2).

19. Do you prefer fluff, angst, or smut for your ships?

ANGST, with a side dish of fluff. I live for the drama, but I usually prefer a happy or bittersweet ending (it depends on the genre). I love reading about/writing more lighthearted, witty dialogs, where both characters are just happy to be… you know, together, and enjoy each other's company. I like (very much like) smut only when it goes with character/relationship development; the ~sexy times~ are usually what I care about the least in a fic lol. tl;dr: I don’t mind smut, but I don’t actively seek it either.

Oh god. Most of them are homoships. I must admit, but I like heteroships as well. I just don’t understand why people HAVE to always bash straight ships. They can be just as cute even if homo is just so 👌and precious. I enjoy all the YuBoy-BraceletGirl ships the most I think, although for other fandoms I really love Valduggery and Kirisuna.

Kay so the song is ‘Talk Too Much’ by COIN and I think it reminds me most of Counterpartshipping tbh. Although I think it could work really well for Pawnshipping or even Dartshipping. NUp changed my mind. It reminds me of Dartshipping

Hey I haven’t seen much activity on the tags in terms of valdug (might be because this fandoms small and I’m avoiding spoilers so I’m not very aware if anyone’s mentioned anything lmao) but I don’t generally see anti valdug vs valdug shipper fights? Is there usually tension between the fandom over this?

before the first series ended? All the fucking TIME, BRO. I won’t throw other valdugs under the bus, it was all me being a very aggro 16-17 year old and deciding I needed to fight everyone lmao. it was not my best decision. (but I’m now friends with the people I used to fight and they ship valduggery now so like........ all’s well that ends well?) what ended up handing circa lsodm was that a lot of people started reading the books *for* valdug, or at least were only involved in the fandom for the ship and therefore were producing a lot of fanwork. that shifted the tide in valdugs favor, people started being afraid of rocking the boat and upsetting anyone, especially all the great new fanartists. and also we were all getting older and tired of internet drama bsby the time phase 1 ended valduggery was literally the only ship left standing. and so there was nothing to even fight about. it was over. valdugs read TDOTL and thought they were endgame, antis read it and felt it was platonic.THEN PHASE 2 HAPPENED. and now there are new people to ship val and skul with! and even more than that, the way we talk about ships we don’t like in 2018 is vey very VERY different than we did in 2014. reylo in its ENTIRETY didn’t even EXIST when TDOTL came out. Now you have people running entire blogs dedicated to hating a ship, and now there’s all of this morality tied in, and now you’re a bad person for wanting val to kiss him when she’s 100, because guys, she was 12 once!nothings happened yet I’m just noticing people getting... rowdy. confident in making posts because they think they have the ~moral high ground~ and that gives them permission to be a dick.im trrrrrying to stay in my lane and learn from my younger selfs mistakes. a lot of the new antis are like 14, and don’t really know any better. so likely I’m just gonna write and draw valdug fanwork out of spite. the healthiest choice!

How long does it take to write a request: How long is a piece of string? It really depends on inspirational, motivation, how busy I am, what my mood is... It could take hours, days, weeks... There’s no real timeline. I answer requests as I want to, there’s no order to when they get answered. The only fairness is that I answer every request I get unless it’s against the rules.

How long does it take to write a commission?: Generally speaking, a week from the day full payment is received. If there are delays, I will let you know as soon as possible. This also depends on the length of the piece you want from me; anything over 1000 words can take up to two weeks to write.

But all this drama in the SP fanspace is coming a certain group of shippers who don't like that new people are coming in and questioning (rightly so) why those people are into said ship. And they are annoyed that the tags are getting filled with ships that they don't agree with (cause it's not mine!).1/2

It’s amazing that people who ship the villains are more self aware than those involved in a grooming one. I like your blog and the one that went on hiatus (won’t say url). The bullying and general nastiness in the fanspace is coming from the majority being upset that everyone isn’t agreeing with them and it’s tiring.

Lol, I don’t really care if I get flak, I ain’t afraid of a few potential internet bullies.I think the most annyong part is people acting like it’s all rainbows and lollipops in the SP fandom, this is not a recent thing, these ‘The SP Fandom Is The Best BC It’s So Small And We’re All Friends!’ posts have been floating around since forever and they have never been true. But the thing is that it’s not the ‘cool kids’ that are getting shit, so no one actually knows it’s happening. Or at least very few people do.And you don’t get to sit at the ‘cool kids’ table unless you ship Valduggery, so go figure whose getting the abuse.This is some “Mean Girls” shit and I’m too old for this tbh.In all honesty, I don’t give a damn if you ship Valduggery or not despite me immensely disliking the ship.
