aaron in an interview about pyro
"Of course, I, as the actor portraying him, had the entire backstory made up for him and there’s a lot of pain and a lot of loss that was beneath this arrogant d—ish behavior. I’m glad to see that people saw that and understood that and felt that and that they do relate to Pyro. I think the best way to describe him is that he’s an outsider amongst outsiders. Even at the school for gifted mutants that he ends up at, which is a school for people who are absolutely on the fringe and brutalized and rejected from society. Even there, he can’t quite seem to fit in. And that’s why he ends up pivoting and making this move to the dark side with Magneto."
eta: also in another interview
“The movie gave him such an emotional throughline. There’s a little moment when you see him looking at the photograph of someone else’s happy family on a mantle and he stares at it. And you can tell that there’s pain there. You can tell that he didn’t have a happy family.”

If Xavier's school does, in fact, have a football team and cheer squad (as I've recently read that they do...), then what are the teams called? What is their school mascot? I couldn't find anything when I Googled it just now.
Needed for fanfic purposes.

I sincerely hope Cassandra Nova didn't just die off like that at the end of the movie. I think she has a lot of potential to wreak havoc, which I, for one, cannot wait to see.
I don't necessarily want or need her to be redeemed at the end of her story, because that's, honestly, boring and when executed in a wrong way, it will assassinate her character point blank (no pun intended). I do, however, want to see Cassandra Nova explore the 'outside world'.
Because the Void—and the poor folks that get pruned and sent there—are all that she knows. She has heard stories about the real timeline from the variants, sure, but she hasn't been on it since she was but a literal baby.
That's why her entire speech, she sounds so resigned; so caged. As this, all of this, is the only thing she has ever known. Frankly, the only thing she is allowed to know, and then the only thing she chooses to know.
I think fear plays a hand in that element, along with comfortability. I think in spite of how powerful Cassandra Nova is, she still cradles the fear of rejection. That's why she said that in the Void, she can use her powers as she pleases. That's why her selling point towards the other mutants especially in the Void is that they can be whoever they want to be (as long as they are obedient to her), because that is what the Void promotes: Freedom.
Now that Cassandra Nova stopped limiting her freedom, I'm curious to see as to what she does next. I am going to be thoroughly upset if she's gone just by the end of the movie because fuck, I really want to see what happens next to her character.
I also just really, really want her to meet Charles and realise all of the lost potential, honestly. Do I want her to end up coming home to the X-Mansion and being an X-Men and playing good twin siblings with Charles? Not necessarily! But I do want her to be given that choice, regardless of what she does with it.

i am js but if the argument you are making against a persecuted fictional minority group ever sounds like it could come out of senator kelly's mouth because, y’know, it has, then you've made a very bad argument.

Post-DOFP — Peter seeks out the Brotherhood to face Magneto.
Magneto turned slowly, his piercing gaze assessing Peter with a critical intensity. Recognition flickered across his face, a faint furrow appearing between his brows. “...Peter?”
Peter swallowed hard, his hands twisting nervously. He managed a hesitant nod, uncertain of what to say next in the presence of the man who had both terrified and fascinated him for so long.
Magneto raised a single eyebrow, observing Peter with a mixture of curiosity and something akin to paternal concern. Not that Peter was delusional enough to actually think that's what it was. Nope. "You can relax," he said gently, his voice cutting through the tension in the room. "I do owe you a debt."

reconciling being an annoying know-it-all and an annoying fandomperson is hard because on one hand i want people to know that i know that wolverines are more closely related to otters and ferrets than they are to cats so it wouldn't technically be correct to take behavioural pointers from cats but on the other hand his kitty cat hair my little meow meow has freaking kitty cat hair hes so meow meow meow meow meow. so you can understand the amount of stress i'm under

If I had a nickel for every time a former Rebellious 2000s Dream Boy with fire powers named John from 2 Marvel movies made by Fox Studios whom we haven't seen since the mid-2000s showed up in Deadpool & Wolverine, only to be brutally murdered by Cassandra Nova after barely any screentime... I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't much, but it's still weird that it happened twice.
