look if you hate shen jiu that’s totally fine, but at least hate him for the things he actually did (i.e. the very horrific child abuse), and not what the false rumours about him say that he did.

I don't think anyone who's followed me for any length of time could ever genuinely believe I'm anti-fanfic or think that fanfic is uncreative, but there absolutely is a wide swath of fanfic that's literally just OCs dressed up in the clothes of popular characters as a quick way of attracting audience engagement. And that's like. A thing that should be acknowledged in discussions about fanfic I believe.
Fanfic isn't INHERENTLY lazy or uncreative, but there absolutely are writers who use familiar characters with built-in audiences as a shortcut when in actuality they have zero interest in the source material they're writing about and they're basically writing a wholly original work in someone else's clothes.
But I mean, you didn't hear it from me. Or maybe you did. Idk. Its five am, what are words even, why am I awake.

Kaeya had always been an efficient and hard-working individual (he had to be to support Diluc in the background as his brother rose thru the ranks after all).
He has so much free time because he completes all his work way ahead of schedule. And if he still has enough time, he adds more to the workload in secret.
And once all of that was done and over with, he makes time for everyone. He has to. He feels as if every moment has to be given to someone else.
No one knows how he does it. No one has to know.
Every mission has a dozen strategies in line, and every battle plan is made with efficiency in mind. His perfect record will not be tarnished. He can't risk it (even if it baffles others that he would willingly activate a ruin guard just to prevent a failed mission. Jean disagrees with his methods, but Kaeya can say that the results say otherwise)
He needs to be quick.
Efficient.
Perfect.
And so he comes and goes like the wind.
Kaeya values time because he knew every second counted. He can't just stand there as if he were frozen. Time could run out in an instant.
Kaeya had only been late once his entire life.
He'd rather he never be late ever again.
It took one day of being of being imperfect for everything to fall apart. On that tragic day...had he gotten there on time... then maybe...
.
.
.
" Come on, let's get moving, traveler. We're not frozen in place after all. " Kaeya teasingly says. He stiffles a giggle at the traveler's exhasperated sigh.
"Yeah yeah, we've heard enough of you calling us a slacker. Can't you be a bit more patient?" Paimon whines at him.
Kaeya snorts, but acquiesces, hiding the shaking of his hands at the thought of being idle.
He imagines hearing a clock ticking.
Kaeya knows that that is his own problem. He tries his hardest to relax as he waits for the traveler to finish whatever they're making on the alchemy table because, seriously, it is supposed to be a relaxing day. There's nothing major going on, and his schedule is once again empty as intended. What's the hurry?
Kaeya taps his foot on the ground as he waits. He wishes he could take his own damn advice when he tells others to relax.

🍂This user is always happy to see ao3 surpass their donation goals btw.🍂
This user is glad to see publically-funded archives of all kinds and especially those with a history of standing against censorship, especially fully volunteer-run ones with artists generously sharing their works for free, especially well organised ones that I respect the hell out of.

on dragona
i managed to track down some pictures of the jojolands raws, and specifically one of the pages where jodio talks about dragona. i think ultimately we’ll have to wait for more to get a real read on his gender identity and presentation, but i wanted to see what the original japanese was and what it said for myself
here is where jodio is talking about how his mom can live a peaceful life because of what he and dragona do. in the first bubble he starts with “オレたち兄弟” (oretachi kyoudai). the key word here is 兄弟, which just means sibling(s). so he says “we siblings” (or, given context, could also be “we brothers”). regardless, this phrase is gender neutral
in the second one, he says “オレと兄” (ore to ani). this is why i’m choosing to use he/him for dragona as of now, because 兄 means big brother, and as far as i know, nothing else. i’d translate this as “me and my brother” (or if we’re trying to be grammatically correct, “my brother and i”)
in this bubble, jodio again says “兄”, which, if you look up in a dictionary, only translates to older/elder/big brother.
i think you could’ve argued otherwise if jodio had called dragona 兄貴 (aniki) because that once can be a little more ambiguous in terms of familial relationship and gender, but just 兄 alone reads to me like dragona is jodio’s older brother. i also don’t really think that jodio is purposely misgendering dragona.
given what we know so far about the characters, i think there’s enough evidence to say that dragona identifies as a boy, but enjoys presenting feminine. so i’m going to be using he/him for dragona unless something contradicts that in later chapters

To the people whose interests are literature, math, history, science, or anything else typically taught in school: I am so sorry.
I am sorry that you constantly have to hear people talking about how boring your interests are, how much they hate them, and how they "will never be useful in the real world." I am sorry the education system couldn't do its job of making learning these subjects enjoyable for students, particularly disabled ones, and that you have to face the consequences. I am sorry to the disabled students in question whose experience and interest with the subject was tainted by ableism.
No matter what you're interested in, there's another person out there who shares your fascination, and they rightfully think it's totally rad! Keep on going!
