Good question!! I uh. Kinda don't know how to explain it so I made a video

I guess my main thing is don't be afraid to break his lizard proportions a little, and also USE REFERENCES AND TAKE INSPO FROM OTHERS!!

I HEAVILY referenced @/mischieviem and @/paesthethyc when I was initially figuring out how to draw the guys, and then I worked my way from there!

thinking of a game idea... really leaning towards using this palette its so pretty and i think limiting myself to only 5 colors would make art really fun, the desaturated colors lend itself well to both cozy art and maybe also slight horror art ^_^ could be used in a lot of ways

What program and brushes do you use? :)

Actually, the last time I was asked was YEARS ago and my process has definitely changed since then! So thanks for being interested and shooting your shot.

I do want to preface this with something I learned as I taught myself to draw: my favorite artists could switch all their default brushes around, and I’d still love their art. That special something I like usually comes from the way they make their shapes, the confidence of their strokes, the flow of their poses and expressions—but also texture good so the question is a mood.

Without further ado, I use Procreate and an Apple Pencil, and here are my brushes!

I’m on a minecraft server with some folks and I’ve been working on this project and it’s really coming together. I basically picked out this “u” shaped area of water and I’ve been building a rustic looking village for trading around the cliffside. There is also gonna be boats for the villagers and docks and floating lanterns in the sky AHH I’m just really happy with how it’s looking!! I’m very excited for when I finish it because it is going to especially look good at night with the floating lanterns.

In this short video, I apply easy-to-use tools to create and pose a simple bird made up of circles and lines. The lines can be bent, curved, and repositioned quickly to put the bird or any other animal into a pose. I add the Path Effect Taper Stroke to the tail feathers to shape them.
