Steve was going to kill Robin.

Well, not really because he doesn't think he'd survive more than a couple days without her. But he'd certainly be giving her the stink eye next shift for suggesting a secret Santa between the older ones of the party.

"We just rog it so that I get Vickie and she'll fall madly in love with me, it's a perfect plan Steve!"

To her credit it was an ok plan.

"Last week you spent an hour bemoaning the fact that she smiled at a boy."

"But yesterday she spent two hours studying with me in the library!"

Steve rolled his eyes at her shenanigans but agreed nonetheless. They drew names the next time they had all gone out for burgers at the diner. Steve tried not to make it obvious when he saw who his name was. Eddie.

Steve wasn't disappointed, no, far from it, he'd been hiding a crush on the older boy for a few months now, let's just say Eddie spent a lot of time by Steve's pool last summer. But now he felt the pressure to get him the perfect gift. The plan hadn't even worked for Robin.

"I got Argyle! Now how will I win her heart."

"Could always plant some mistletoe."

"You're a genius! Who'd you get."

"It's Secret Santa, Rob's, it's meant to be secret."

"Boo you're no fun, bet it's me."

It took Steve weeks to finish his gift for Eddie and Steve found himself hastily wrapping it the morning of their little Christmas party, grateful that Robin had thought of the plan well in advance otherwise he'd have never finished.

Steve greeted everyone and watched as they placed their secret Santa gifts under the tree. They ate, laughed and picked a Christmas movie to watch after presents. One by one they opened their gifts.

Nancy got Vickie some water colour paints.

Argyle got Jonathan rolls of fresh film.

Jonathan got Nancy some new notepads with larger covers.

Robin got Argyle a big bright tie dye shirt with Groovy printed on the front, he quickly put it over the sweater he was already wearing.

Vickie turned to Robin and Steve quickly saw her cheeks start to redden. She passed her the gift and Robin unwrapped a bag full of pins and badges.

"I've been collecting them for a few weeks for you from around town and around where I went to visit my grandma, thought your work vest needed some more fun ones."

Robin grinned widely at Vickie, the effort making a big impact on her. Steve knew he'd be hearing about it for weeks but he hoped the mistletoe in the kitchen sped things along.

Steve was about to give Eddie his gift when he realised that this meant Eddie also got him for Secret Santa. He turned to the metalhead to find him already shyly holding out a gift.

"It's not much but I hope you like it, Stevie."

Steve unwrapped the small package to find a collection of mixtapes inside, Eddie's handwriting clearly scribbled on the side.

"I started making a mixtape of songs that made me think of you but U ran out of room on the first one and might've gotten carried away," he said shyly scratching his neck.

Steve glanced over the names of the songs and it was clear that the majority of them certainly wouldn't remind someone of their dear platonic friend. Steve smiled softly at him and passed him his gift.

"I think I know what you mean."

Eddie slightly confused at the statement unwrapped the gift, his mouth forming a small o looking inside. He took out the book, a worn copy of The Hobbit that Steve had thrifted as soon as he knew Eddie was his secret Santa.

"Stevie, you know I've got this one, it's my favourite," he said slightly awkwardly.

"Look inside."

Eddie slowly opened the book to see small dribbles of ink between the words. The handwriting clearly Steve's. As he flicked through he saw Steve's thoughts spilling into almost every page.

"It's your favourite and you're always wanting me to read it so I did, I thought it'd be fun if you saw exactly what I thought of it."

Eddie's eyes caught on one of the words near the end, a small red shape next to them, yeah, he thinks he and Steve are on the same page, but he'd wait until the end, no spoilers early after all.

"I love it, Stevie, thank you."

As Steve sat curled up next to Eddie on the couch watching the film he too had the same thought, definitely on the same page.

Martin had a folder on his work computer with pictures of cows in it

Sasha used to keep a picture of the four of them in her desk - Not Sasha got rid of it

Distortion Helen uses her hands a lot when she speaks

Elias irons his ties and then organises them by colour (They’re all the same colour but he claims the shades are different)

Martin and Jon used to play card games but Jon stopped once he realised he always knew what Martins cards were

Tim would wear those socks with the days of the week on them but would make a point of wearing the wrong socks on the wrong days just to annoy Jon

Sasha’s definitely thrown a pen at Tim - She threatens to throw one at Martin but never would

Tim paints his nails on occasion and convinced Martin to do it a couple times, who in turn convinced Jon to do it

Specifically series 1 Jon had Martin for secret Santa and he have him a mug with a cow on it - Jon denied it every time he was asked

Martins the better baker but Jons the better cook -

Jon will tell everyone in the kitchen to get out if he’s cooking

Martin had a nightlight while sleeping at the institute and never told anyone but Jon found it once and replaced the batteries just in case they were close to running out

Distortion Helen seems like the kind of avatar to have a load of bracelets but those ones that make noise when someone moves their arm

hiii! this is really random but i was looking at your pinned comic again and what do you think gant meant whenever he would talk about swimming? idk if it's because there was so much going on while playing the case, but i could never really figure out if there was more to it and im curious about your interpretation if you dont mind !!

Well, honestly, I think it's threatening enough if it's just swimming. (Speaking as someone who can't swim, haha.)

Seriously though, I think it's a combination "let's be better friends and have fun" with an undercurrent of "you know I could hold your head under water at any time and everyone would think it was a freak accident". Because swimming can be brushed off so easily as simply something fun, there's a sort of gaslighting there too. Like "Now loosen up... why did you think I'd drown you? We're just having a good time, aren't we?" This sense of constant threat in something so supposedly happy. Just like Gant himself.

As for swimming with Lana, although he never proposes this in game, it's what I had in the comic, so I'll put some of the thoughts behind it here.

I'd imagine it as a purposeful disarming tactic again. Lana's design, I feel, is a collection of things to keep her looking strong, and importantly, to cover up her weak points. Her shoulders need squaring up, so she wears military style epaulettes. She's shorter than Gant, so she wears heels. She can't have her throat vulnerable, so she wears a scarf. One that's interesting is the medals. Firstly, her heart is the reason why she was able to be manipulated so entirely, since everything she did was to protect Ema, but the medals are on the wrong side of her chest to keep her heart locked behind her achievements. And Gant knows this, he flat out says it in game - that he "knew Lana" and knew that if Ema was implicated, she'd do "anything and everything he wanted" (don't remember who says this, think it might be Nick), despite being someone who "hated anything corrupt" (Angel). Second, I think this means Lana is a bit insecure. None of the other King of Prosecutors winners that we see (Edgeworth, Manfred) have any desire to show off the medals they presumably have (and though I know this is partly because they didn't exist when they were being designed, I also think it's interesting from an in-universe standpoint) so I think Lana is clutching at the things she can tangibly show off. (Interestingly, this actually makes her slightly like the other Chief Prosecutor we see, [Blaise] Winner. He's covered in the badges... I won't spoil AAI2 for what they are, but... The means by which they each obtained their medals and what they point to about them is, now that I'm thinking about it, a really interesting parallel. But that isn't the point.) She does the same thing with her grades, tells you she was the best in her class. I think that without these accolades she'd feel completely useless, so, this brings me to swimming.

Obviously, swimming, you're half naked. I propose that Lana's insecurities extend to this. Seems the sort to be arms folded in a T-shirt and jeans at a pool party. So, I think an invitation to swim with Gant would be something designed to unsettle her and make her uncomfortable, make her lose all her neatly put together armour. I'm not keen to read potential sexual motives into it, for Lana's sake. That poor woman has really been through enough with what's contained in the canonical text. But certainly, Gant would use it as a means of preying on her insecurities and pushing her buttons re: covering up vulnerabilities. The threat of being scrutinised, without any shields (chipped or not) under Gant's uncomfortably long stare, would be terrifying. I think with Gant, it's always the threat of how entirely unknowable he is. Of course, that unknowable-ness leads to him murdering two people as almost a reflex action, and all he seems to care about is making pawns and raising himself up.

Also, since it's water, it's a sort of washing the blood away style thing. Actually, now that I write that, when you look at Gant's design, he's got a huge cross on him. (And parts of his design went into Strongheart, who has a sort of clergyman-style coat) Maybe there's a bit of a baptism/washing away sins Christian style thing going on there. Not to mention the massive church organ in his office. (On Gant's cross tie, actually, something I noticed and found really interesting was that there's so much "red around neck" in RFTA. Gant's tie, Lana's scarf, Ema's bow, Jake's neckerchief, Angel's little octopus hotdog thing, the suit of armour in Gant's office even has a red scarf style thing. Something about the chains heavy around all of their necks. Naturally the most assertive red is Gant's, since not only does it branch out like a marionette controller, but at the center of it is his big badge. So having the chief position has given him control over all these other "red around neck" people, ready to tighten up the noose at any time. I'd say Angel gives credence to this too. She has the least red going on, and she's the only one who doesn't work there anymore. It's also not actually the thing around her neck, which is a black choker, but an accessory that she's attached to it. Emblematic of her really choosing to go back into this world however she can, and that includes emulating the "red string of fate", as it were. Neil's tie is pink (which is light red) so it's faded into memory, and Bruce's is blue with white spots. Now, this doesn't seem like red, but blood is red too, and the luminol reaction is blue. So this is the discovery point, if that makes sense. Where the red has been revealed to be blood under the blacklight, and things start to become undone. Ultimately, as well, the "white spots" become the holes in Gant and Lana's plan, so I think there's something there! But that isn't the point of the post.)

One thing I find interesting about "swimming" in particular is Gant's theming. His damage sprite is him going completely nuts electrical style. So maybe...

Warnings: Illumi being a poopie head

Being a descendant of a well known family of assassins meant a lot of things. It meant you were destined to continue the family business, get payed by random people without questioning their motifs but also a lot of times it required you to travel. Your family got requests and offers from all over, meaning easy access to round trips is very beneficial.

Which is why you along with your twin brother decided to take the exam. He was much more serious about the whole assassin thing than you though. To him, the family and his job was what made up his entire life and in his mind there was no room for anything else. You, however, thought there was more to life and fully supported the idea of having hobbies and making friends.

Since he was so serious, Illumi decided to alter his appearance for the duration of the exam. You honestly didn't see much of a point in this, especially considering there were very few if not zero people who knew the faces and identities of the Zoldyck family. But whatever, it's his life.

Illumi's little disguised proved somewhat useful though, because your baby brother Killua happened to be there. You loved all your siblings dearly, but Killua always had a closer bond with you than anyone else. You were the only one who ever bothered playing with him while he was growing up, which naturally caused him to favor you over the rest of the family. You couldn't have been more proud of him when you found out he had run away from home. You fully supported him in taking control of his own life, hoping he'll end up finding something that really would make him happy.

Eventually, you parted ways with Illumi because his weird clown friend showed up. You kept in contact with him via cellphone, but knew you probably wouldn't use it very often.

When Killua first spotted you, he had no idea how to feel. You were his favorite sibling and he trusted that you wouldn't force him to do anything, but he still had his suspicions.

"What are you doing here? You're not here to take me back are you!?"

"No, Killua, I'm not. I just need a hunter license for a job."

He let out a sigh of relief before looking around and asking you another question.

"Illumi isn't here, is he?"

You felt bad for lying to him but at the same time it was probably best for him not to know. If he did, he would just be under unnecessary stress and it would cause an argument between you and your twin that you rather not have.

The next time you met up with Illumi was on Zevil Island. The two of you had allready collected the badges you needed and he was talking to freaky clown dude. You payed him no mind because you rather not interact with that guy.

"I take it you've seen Killua around," you stated.

"Yes, I have. And I intend to bring him back home after the exam is over."

"Stop meddling in his life Illumi. He's old enough to think for himself and if he decides he doesn't want to be at home then-"

"That's not how father raised us, Y/n. It is our job to serve our family and carry on it's legacy," he says, cutting you off while beginning to dig.

"I'm going to sleep until the deadline," he then turns to his friend. "Best of luck."

And with that, he buried himself underground. You huffed in annoyance and clenched your fist before yelling at the pile of dirt before you.

"Dad didn't raise us to be control freak manipulators either!! You- you...you gopher!!"

Your brother's jester friend chuckled at you, causing you to shoot him a glare before storming off.

As the final phase of the exam rolled around, things weren't looking too good. Killua's next opponent just had to be Illumi. didn't it? You watched with an unsettling feeling at the bottom of your stomach. Your poor baby brother stood there trembling as Illumi spoke.

"You're not cut out to be a hunter. You were born for one purpose; to be an assassin."

At this you took a step foreword.

"That's enough Illumi. Mom only wanted you to check on him, this is too far."

He ignored you as he continued his speech.

"You're a puppet of darkness, devoid of passion. There is nothing you desire, nor is there anything you wish for. As one who lives in the shadows the only pleasure you're capable of is derived from causing death. Because that's how dad and I raised you."

You grit your teeth at this before taking another step towards the ring, getting stopped by a man and reminded of the rules. If you stepped on to the ring you would be disqualified.

Before you could start screaming your head off at your deranged twin, Killua began to stand up for himself. You couldn't be prouder of him for finding out what he wanted from life.

Then Illumi starts to tear Killua down again. Some tall guy with glasses begins to yell words of encouragement at Killua. After Illumi's threat to kill Gon, you stood protectively in front of the door along with 3 of the other contestants.

"Oh what a pain. I need to acquire a hunters license right now so I can do my job. But if I kill them, I'll fail, and Kil will pass automatically. Oh no, the same thing will happen if I kill gon! Hm.....wait! I'll pass the exam then kill Gon!"

"You know you could've kept that monologue to yourself, right?" You sassed. "Even if you do pass and go after Gon, I won't let you."

"Poor, little Y/n. You've always been so soft. Your emotions is what makes you weak."

"Shut up! You're supposed to have our family's best interest in mind, right? Then let Killua go out and make friends! It's his job to decide what he wants."

The black haired man simply chooses to ignore you and continues to threaten Gon's life. And to antagonize Killua. Everything you and glasses guy were yelling from the sidelines went in one ear and out through the other as Killua gave in to the pressure of Illumi's aura and forfeit the match.

"Haha, I lied Kil. I was never going to kill Gon. That was only a test to see what your made of, and now I know for certain. You are simply not qualified to make friends. Not that you need any."

As both of them left the ring you could tell something was off with your younger brother. You glared at Illumi, your face saying 'I'll deal with you later' but he payed no mind. Right when the next match was about to begin, Killua walked up and killed the old man without uttering a single word and left the facility.

He was now disqualified.

Imagine your surprise when you saw Gon march in and demand that Illumi apologize to Killua. And how you were even more surprised that he not only managed to flip a grown man, but also break his arm.

As you watched the little green boy confront your brother and listened to the blonde one along with the glasses guy try to reason with Netero, you were happy he was able to find such good friends. Gon was a good kid with pure intentions, and the other two were willing to publicly defend him.

After the whole orientation thing, Gon and Co. approached Illumi to ask about where Killua might be as you stood off to the side. As they left you followed them, waiting until Illumi was out of earshot to call for Gon's attention.

"Huh?"

"If you want to get to Kukuroo mountain there's a tour bus that takes you to the outside of our property. You'll need to pass through our testing gates to reach the estate or else our 900 pound guard dog will kill you."

"Oh, thanks a lot! But why are you helping us?"

"Because Killua could really use friends like you guys. You're a good kid and I trust that you'll make him happy. I would lead you there myself but I have my other brother to deal with, good luck."

You stormed back towards Illumi and slapped him in the back of the head. He let it happen of course, considering he could hear your angry footsteps from a mile away. No matter how angry you were at him, there wasn't much you could do. Fighting him would be useless, considering you're both at about the same strength and skill level and verbally berating him doesn't have any affect. But you chose to do the 2nd one anyways.

"What the hell is wrong with you? You know, this is why you're Killua's least favorite. All you do is try to boss him around and control his life. Seriously, do you have anything better to do?"

"Kil is the next in line to be the head of our family, I'm just making sure that he will be able to do so without any distractions."

"Newsflash Illumi: he's 12. You're 24. If anything, you should be next so why don't you go find a wife or something. And how come you're allowed to have your fruity party clown friend but Killua can't have any? Seriously, I much prefer the boy over that creep."

Illumi stopped walking and turned towards you.

"Hisoka is an acquaintance. Not a friend."

"Yeah, yeah whatever. Defend your jester boyfriend," you say, rolling your eyes. You stepped closer to the man before you and looked him in the eyes as you spoke once more.

"Let Killua have this. If you decide to go after him, trust me you will be dealt with."

Freshman Year VS Junior Year

Fig - started cutting her own hair once her horns came in, is a lot better now. started dying it the start of sophomore. lots of piercings. the tear in her ear is from the cuff she pulled out to give to Ayda. jacket pimped out. horns are growing and curving in a little.

Gorgug - stands a little more confidently, less hunched in on himself. hair grown out to a kind of a pseudo-mullet. more peach fuzz, bigger tusks. not shown is painted nails that are constantly chipped.

Fabian - from jock to theatre kid (but still kinda jock). grew his hair out and styled it into locs. honestly also paints his nails. looks more mature but still needs to be a kid.

Adaine - hair used to be kept straightened with magic, now she lets it be the frizzy/wavy texture it should be. little blue dip-dye. always collecting new pins and patches to add to her sick ass jacket. generally just allowing herself to experiment with being her own person.

Kristen - post-break up self-inflicted messy hair cut. got buff, still round features and chubby. another kid who was forced to have a specific look now experimenting with how she wants the world to perceive her. that helix piercing was definitely a DIY done by Tracker.

Riz - lil' peach fuzz 'tache that he's insanely proud of. grew a couple of inches - it's not that noticeable to most people, but it's why his ankles are so on show. adds a few badges to his waistcoat. frankly, can't do more than what canon art already did

1856 – Baron Wilhelm von Gloeden (d.1931) was a German photographer who worked mainly in Italy. He is mostly known for his pastoral nude studies of Sicilian boys, which usually featured props such as wreaths or amphoras, suggesting a setting in the Greece or Italy of antiquity. From a modern standpoint, his work is commendable due to his controlled use of lighting as well as the often elegant poses of his models. Innovative use of photographic filters and special body make-up contribute to the artistic perfection of his works.

Von Gloeden was a minor German aristocrat from Mecklenburg who, suffering from what appears to have been tuberculosis, came to Taormina in Sicily in 1876. He was wealthy and provided a considerable economic boost in this comparatively poor region of Italy, which might explain why the homosexual aspects of his life and work were generally tolerated by the locals.

Von Gloeden, who in the 1880s had started photographing boys, but had also made portrait studies of local peasants and engaged in some landscape photography, turned his hobby into a profitable business in the 1890s when his family fell on hard times financially. Already a local celebrity in Taormina, his work (and his models) drew to Sicily such luminaries of the times as Oscar Wilde, the 'cannon king' Alfred Krupp, Richard Strauss, as well as the German Kaiser.

The bulk of von Gloeden's work stems from this time period up until the beginning of World War I. His idyllic 'illustrations of Homer and Theocritus', i.e. pictures of skimpily clad boys in classical poses, were also reproduced as postcards and enjoyed popularity as souvenirs for tourists.

Von Gloeden generally made different kinds of photographs: the ones that garnered the most widespread attention in Europe and overseas were usually relatively chaste, featured clothes such as togas and generally downplayed their homoerotic implications.

More explicit photos in which the boys were nude and which, because of eye contact or physical contact were more sexually suggestive were traded by the Baron 'under the counter' to close friends.

Still, considering the prudish and homophobic atmosphere of the time, it is remarkable that von Gloeden and large parts of his work were generally accepted and respected. The popularity of his work in Germany, England, and America can possibly be attributed to four major reasons: - He was a consummate and talented photographer. - The Classical and painterly themes in which his work wreathed itself served as a cultural 'badge of protection'. - At that time male-male-love 'did not speak its name' and was thus totally unthinkable to many who saw his images. - New printing technologies enabled the mass reproduction and sale of his work in postcard form.

In total the Baron took over 3,000 images, which after his death were left to one of his models, Pancrazio Bucini, also known as Il Moro for his North African looks. In 1936, over 2,500 of the pictures were destroyed by Mussolini's police under the allegation that they constituted pornography. Most of the surviving images therefore come from private collections.

1906 – Maurice Sachs, born Maurice Ettinghausen, (d.1945) was a French writer. He was the son of a Jewish family of jewelers. French writer, adventurer, worldly, careful observer of intellectual and political life of the 20s and the Occupation, collaborator of the Gestapo, Maurice Sachs was the author of the Sabbath, a largely autobiographical novel.

Sachs was educated in an English-style boarding-school, lived for a year in London and worked in a bookshop, and returned to Paris.

In 1925 he converted to Catholicism and decided to become a priest, though this didn't last upon meeting a young man on the beach at Juan-les-Pins, with whom he had an affair.

After involvement in a number of dubious business activities, he traveled to New York, where he passed himself off as an art dealer. Facing prosecution for fraud, he returned to France, having given up everything except the young man who accompanied him, Henry Wibbels, who was his lover from 1933 to 1937. Returning to Paris, he associated himself with leading homosexual writers of the time - Cocteau, Gide, Max Jacob and Proust - with all of whom he had stormy relationships whose precise nature is unclear. At various times he worked for Jean Cocteau and Coco Chanel, in both cases stealing from them.

He associated with Violette Leduc who describes her friendship with him in her autobiography La Batarde. She describes the writing, and her reading of the first version of Le Sabbat in La Batarde and how she tried to get him, unsuccessfully, to remove harsh references to Jean Cocteau.

Sachs was mobilized at the start of World War II, but was discharged for sexual misconduct. In 1940, Maurice Sachs spoke live on Global Radio on a Resistance program intended to convince the United States of America to go to war against Germany, which puts him on the German kill list. During the early years of the Occupation, he made money out of helping Jewish families escape to the Unoccupied Zone. But he may also have been an informer for the Gestapo. In 1943, to survive, under a false name, he offered his services to the Gestapo to infiltrate the gay community; however, he only stole from the Gestapo, lied, and refused to denounce gays. He was finally arrested and imprisoned in Fuhlsbüttel.

In 1945, before the advance of British troops, the prison of Fuhlsbüttel was evacuated and its inmates moved to the city of Kiel. The evacuation consisted of a long march that took many days to complete. On the third day of the journey, April 14, 1945, at 11:00 in the morning, Sachs became too exhausted to continue the march. He was killed by a bullet through his neck, and his body was abandoned at the side of the road with the body of another "companion of the same misfortune."

1922 – Lord Peter Henderson of Brompton (d.2000) was a hero of British gay rights. With his wispy white hair, wrinkled brow, weak voice, and even feebler body, Lord Henderson of Brompton was not a heroic-seeming figure, but he was one of the House of Lords' under-sung heroes. In 1944 he had been dragged from an Anzio minefield and, having lost the use of many of his internal organs, was signed off from the forces as "100% disabled" - which, he joked, should have meant he was dead.

Educated at the Dragon and Stowe schools and Magdalen College, Oxford, he completed his English degree post-war under CS Lewis, despite pain and operations. After a brief spell at Lloyd's, he became a clerk in the Lords. By 1960 he was private secretary to Lord Home, then leader of the Lords. In 1974 he took the top job, clerk of the parliaments, and was knighted in 1975. Quite exceptionally, on his retirement in 1984 he became a crossbench life peer.

His battle for gay rights - as against article 28 - was part of his crusade for those underprivileged by discrimination, including young criminals, schizophrenics and homeless mothers with children.In 1996, in resisting the Armed Forces' anti-gay discrimination he referred to his wartime command of a platoon, he recalled:

"Two men in my platoon were obviously in love. I took no action, partly be it noted, because everyone in my platoon was quite happy about the relationship, but also because we were about to go into action. Both of those men behaved in a conspicuously brave manner in a particularly nasty night attack. But early in the morning, when we were all cleaning our weapons, two other soldiers, whom I particularly trusted, committed self-inflicted wounds, one in the foot and the other in the trigger finger. Perhaps I may ask the admirals, generals and air marshals which of those four men presented a grave risk to good order and discipline?"

1954 – Writer Michael Nava, author of award-winning mystery novels with gay themes, has increasingly been recognized as an important novelist whose mature work transcends the limited expectations of a popular and highly specialized genre.

Nava was born on September 16, 1954, in Sacramento, California, the second of six children in what he calls a "tragically unhappy" Chicano family. He was the son of a man with whom his mother, then married, had had an affair, and though he was given his stepfather's last name, he knew from an early age that his mother was not married to his father, who in effect abandoned him.

Molested by a family member at age eleven and realizing his gayness at age twelve, Nava knew that he had to escape his mother's religiosity and his stepfather's physical abuse. The one path open to him, an intellectually precocious student, was education. Determining early on that he wanted to be both a writer and a lawyer, he attended Colorado College on a scholarship, earning a B. A. in history in 1976. He then went to law school at Stanford University, where he earned a J. D. in 1981. All the while, he was writing poetry and fiction.

In 1980, Nava met Bill Weinberger, who became his first lover. He lived with Weinberger until 1989. Moving to the Los Angeles area in 1984, he practiced law and began working for the California Court of Appeals as a research attorney. After dissolving his relationship with Weinberger in 1989, he met Andrew Ferrero, and in 1995 they moved to San Francisco, where he now writes and practices law.

Nava is editor of Finale: Short Stories of Mystery and Suspense (1989) and co-author (with Robert Dawidoff) of Created Equal: Why Gay Rights Matter to America (1992), but he is best known for his seven-novel mystery series featuring gay Chicano lawyer Henry Rios: The Little Death (1986), Goldenboy (1988), How Town (1990), The Hidden Law (1992), The Death of Friends (1996), The Burning Plain (1997), and Rag and Bone (2001). Five of these seven novels have won the Lambda Literary Award as the best gay male mystery of the year.

Rios is in the mold of the American hardboiled detective who stands outside society and, as a consequence, sees more clearly than most its dark side. He is doubly an outsider in all of the worlds that he lives and works in. First, he is a Chicano in an Anglo society and an Anglo profession. Although he is a criminal lawyer whose brilliance is widely recognized, he often feels uncomfortable with and condescended to by his clients and his professional associates. Second, he is a gay man in the highly macho and Roman Catholic Chicano society, despised by his father for not being manly enough, and distrusted by other Chicanos because of his education, his profession, and what they perceive as his collaboration with the Anglo society at large.

In 1995, Nava collaborated with history professor Robert Dawidoff on the nonfiction book Created Equal: Why Gay Rights Matter to America. Basing their arguments on sound legal and historical analyses, the authors persuasively make the point that the denial of equal rights to glbtq people threatens the future of basic constitutional principles of individual freedom and liberty for the nation as a whole. They contend that the struggle for equality for glbtq citizens matters to everyone because it is a test case for equal treatment of all citizens.

His contribution to the gay mystery is immense; and despite his tiring of the form, it enabled his growth as a writer. Still a young man, Nava may well establish himself as a mainstream novelist, as well as a chronicler of the gay male and Chicano experience within the boundaries of mystery fiction.

1972 – Mike Doyle is an American actor, screenwriter, director and producer. He may be best known for his role on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as Ryan O'Halloran.

On the set of Oz Doyle met George Morfogen, whom he would cast in Shiner, a short film written, produced and directed by Doyle that debuted at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival. Doyle also wrote and produced the 2003 limited-release film Cutter. Doyle also appeared as Jamie Pearse, a small-time crook, in the 1996 television Mini-Series Titanic.

Doyle played Lt. Cmdr. Tom Palatonio in the 2005 action film Phantom Below, which is notable for having been released in multiple versions under multiple names which included or excluded gay content depending on the edit (the gay-themed edit was released under the title Tides of War).

The death of his character in the season 10 finale of Law & Order Special Victims Unit ended a successful six-year run as forensic tech Ryan O'Halloran on the show. He guest starred on episodes of Criminal Minds and In Plain Sight.

He appeared alongside Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart in 2010's Rabbit Hole. In 2011, the feature film Union Square, co-written and directed by Sundance Film Festival's Grand Jury Award Winner Nancy Savoca, was premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. He also starred in The Orphan Killer as Marcus Miller Sr. in 2011. He then joined the cast of A Gifted Man as Victor Lantz, an anesthesiologist. He had a recurring role in the 2012 ABC television series 666 Park Avenue.

In 2014, he portrayed songwriter and record producer Bob Crewe in the film of the hit musical Jersey Boys, based on the story of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons. In 2016 Doyle will star as Greg Forrest in the upcoming psychological thriller, Amy Makes Three.

Doyle formerly dated actor Matt McGrath. Doyle has been linked with actor Andrew Rannells since 2011. The pair share an apartment in New York and a house in Los Angeles.

Doyle is openly gay. He directed 2019 independent film Almost Love with openly gay actors in the leading roles.

1978 – Brian Sims is a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Elected in 2012, Sims is also an American lawyer, politician, and activist on LGBT civil rights

Sims was born in Washington D.C., as the son of two Army Lieutenant Colonels. Sims lived in seventeen states before settling in Pennsylvania in the early 1990s. He later completed his undergraduate studies at Bloomsburg University, in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania in 2001.

In 2000, Sims was the co-captain of the Bloomsburg University football team, and was recognized as a scholar athlete. Following the longest season in the Division II schools history, Sims came out as gay. In doing so, the regional All-American and team captain became the only openly gay college football captain in NCAA history and the most notable college player to ever come out.

In 2011, Sims announced his intentions to run for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, 182nd District. Sims received the endorsement of the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund. He did not face a Republican challenger in the November election and was elected.

Sims was the first openly gay person elected to the Pennsylvania General Assembly. Because Pennsylvania State Representatives' legislative duties begin on the first day of December following their election, Sims shares the designation of being its first openly gay member with Rep. Mike Fleck, who came out in a newspaper article published later that day.

In June 2013, after the Defense of Marriage Act had been ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, Sims tried to make a speech in the Pennsylvania House supporting the decision. Daryl Metcalfe, who was one of several representatives who blocked Sims from speaking, said "I did not believe that as a member of that body that I should allow someone to make comments such as he was preparing to make that ultimately were just open rebellion against what the word of God has said, what God has said, and just open rebellion against God's law.".

1987 – Travis Wall is an American dancer and dance instructor, specializing in contemporary dance and jazz dance. He is best known for his 2006 appearance as a competitor on the second season of the television show So You Think You Can Dance, which airs on the Fox Network. As of 2012, he is currently a choreographer for the show. In 2011, he was nominated for an Emmy for his work on the show's seventh season.

Wall was born in and grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. His mother, owner and operator of the eponymous Denise Wall's Dance Energy, recalls putting him in a walker and watching him imitate the dancers. He began dancing at the age of three, training at his mother's studio, and competing in a number of conventions. His professional career officially started at the age of nine when he appeared in a Dr. Pepper commercial.

In 2007, his adoptive brother Danny Tidwell was a runner-up of the third season of So You Think You Can Dance. He, too, had trained with their mother Denise Wall, who also trained Jaimie Goodwin, a Season 3 contestant. Wall is openly gay.

In 2012, he starred in the reality show All The Right Moves on Oxygen, where he, Teddy Forance, Nick Lazzarini and Kyle Robinson attempt to launch their own dance company called Shaping Sound.

1990 – General Motors issues an apology after one of its commercials refers to trucks made by foreign companies as "little faggot trucks."

1994 – Richard A. Heyman (b.1935) dies. He was mayor of Key West, Florida from 1983 to 1985 and from 1987 to 1989. He was one of the first openly gay public officials in the United States. He was reported as a mayor who happened to be a gay man, rather than a gay mayor.

He did not, however, ignore gay civil rights. In his second term as mayor, before he learned he had the virus that causes AIDS, the Key West City Commission passed a resolution barring the city government from dismissing an employee with AIDS. "If there was a gay issue, he was there," according to June Keith, who was Mr. Heyman’s assistant in office and who confirmed to The New York Times that his death at age 59 was due to pneumonia caused by the AIDS virus.

His papers are held at the Cornell University Library in Ithaca, New York. The Richard A. Heyman Environmental Pollution Control Facility in Key West was named in his honor.

In 2010, a documentary about Richard Heyman’s first term as mayor, directed by John Mikytuck, entitled The Newcomer, was released. Heyman’s long-time partner was artist John Kiraly.

2013 – Israeli couple, Yuval Topper-Erez, a transman, and his husband Matan, became the first to be jointly recognized as biological fathers.

i recently acquired a collection of memorabilia from my dad, which came from his father (my grandad) and an old family friend. both these men served in ww2, and brought back/earned quite a few medals and other trinkets, american and german.

under the cut are photos and some information i found about some of the pieces, but just a quick content warning- some of these photos contain real nazi memorabilia, and if that sort of thing makes you uncomfortable then here's your warning. anyway, enjoy some artifacts!

this one is my personal favorite- the man who originally wore this would have served in both world wars. the darker medal with the dates is called a Hindenburg Cross

this is a german land mine marker/warning flag. also used to denote any hazardous objects/gas/etc.

this is a german Panzer Badge, given to tank crews who actively participated in at least three armored assaults on three different days.

this is a german Black/3rd Class Wound Badge, given to men who were wounded once or twice by hostile action. basically a nazi purple heart.

i was told this pin was german, but upon further research i believe it's actually an american ww2 honorable discharge pin. im not sure if it was my grandpa's or the family friend's.

and here's the piece everyone loses their mind over. your standard nazi armband. it is very spooky to touch/handle.

this was my grandpa's American Campaign Medal, and i'm guessing he got it from one of his jobs which was being the navigator on a B-25 Mitchell bomber assigned to flying the length of the west coast looking for any Japanese military aircraft/ships/etc. (the same kind of plane involved in the Doolittle raid)

this is his World War II Victory Medal, essentially a participation trophy. Every member of the United States Armed Forces who served from 7 December 1941 to 31 December 1946 was eligible for this medal.

this is his Army Commendation Medal. it is awarded to "any member of the Armed Forces of the United States other than General Officers who, while serving in any capacity with the U.S. Army after December 6, 1941, distinguished themselves by heroism, meritorious achievement or meritorious service". i am not entirely sure about the bars on the right side of the case, more specifically the blue and white with the three stars. any ideas?

beyond the rank badges, i honestly have no idea what these patches are for. however, for my band of brothers fans, that circular patch is an OCS/Officer Candidate School patch from Fort Moore/Benning. My grandad went to the same place Winters and Nixon did (i'm sure tons of guys did too but i think it's cool)

more of my grandpa's random little pins. i do not know what the "G" one is, but the one next to it with the propeller is an Army Air Force pin. i really like the U.S. ones and the lieutenant bar because you see those in the show lol. there is something on the backside of the lieutenant bar, but i can't quite figure out what it is. any insights are welcome!

omg giggles i have so many

while i say he's the big spoon, whenever he's upset he will always love being the little spoon. he needs to be taken care of and being held and made sure he's safe is something he loves.

it's a known fact he will have music playing all the time but he also plays it when he's sleeping. not loud, the volume is faintly playing in the room but it helps him sleep easier.

contrary to popular belief, i think he's an excellent cook. he has this special spicy tomato and garlic pasta recipe that he loves making and even makes some garlic bread to go along with him.

he's a whizz with space technology but slap an iphone in front of him and this man will go blank. he's not a great texter but he tries his best. oh, he fucking loves emojis. this one (🕺) is his favourite. he also got teary eyed when he saw the raccoon emoji.

his music taste is still stuck in the 70s/80s but he's gradually becoming accustomed to modern day music too. i definitely feel like he'd enjoy arctic monkeys' new stuff (mainly tbh+c and the car) more so than the old stuff but other than that, he just enjoys what he's listened to his whole life.

he's definitely a sucker for collectibles. like pin badges or posters, especially if they're like vintage style. he frames them and sticks them up on his wall in his room. not all of them match but he kinda likes that.

he's usually just used to taking showers on the ship or on planets if they have to stop for long periods of time so now that he's back on earth, he craves baths. just soaking up and relaxing for a few hours, he's in absolute heaven. and yes he uses bubbles and soaps.

very good at diy. can put a shelf up in less than 5 minutes. doesn't enjoy chores very much but he seems to end up just doing them anyway without any complaints.

loves being active. works out a few times a week, goes for runs, etc. and when he's bored, he'll just take a stroll round the neighbourhood, stopping to talk to anyone he meets on his path. and he will pet all the dogs he sees.

i could go on for hours abt him fr he means so much to me my little babygirl ☹️🫶

Joltik horde complete! As far as I know anyway. I recently bought a China Pokémon Center exclusive joltik, it was released not too long ago and I had a hard time finding one! I got him in the mail today and I am so pleased to have completed my collection 🥰

He's a little keychain plush and when you pull the string he vibrates and "climbs up" the string! They're on Aliexpress but I couldn't be 100% sure what I'd get would be authentic, so I ended up buying from a reputable shop that regularly imports from China. I can be sure he's authentic, and there's the added bonus of him getting here quicker! I might get an Aliexpress one eventually so I have one to use and one to keep mint.

Oh yeah totally! Yeah I haven't really introduced that one properly lmao

Endpoint Security is a Security Breach swap AU that swaps Vanessa and Gregory's places as antag and protag.

Vanessa wakes up in the security office you can access in Rockstar Row- the one with 4 doors where you shock animatronics when they start banging on them. She has no recollection of getting her job as head of security, or really even the past few years, but now that she's here she finds herself being taunted by a kid wearing a rabbit mask hiding behind the screens who sends three animatronics banging at the doors; Roxy, Chica, and Monty. If she can survive, then the kid will set her free and give her a prize.

Once that's over, she receives a Sundrop themed fazwatch and a level 1 security badge from who she now knows as Dr. Rabbit. She notices that all the equipment she should have is now gone, Dr. Rabbit informing her that she dropped them earlier and he ordered the animatronics to scatter them around the building for her to find. She also catches wind of some higher power above Rab when he mentions how he's just "keeping her busy until he decides what to do with her".

Rab follows her around through the watch and keeps track of her progression, while Vanessa just tries to survive until 6am, hoping her coworkers will come open the doors and let her out before she can learn who "he" is.

Here's a bit of a description I wrote for my friend when I first made the AU so you might have a better idea what the general story progression is like;

"Now armed with the voice of Dr. Rabbit on her wrist, access to the maps and security cameras, and a flashlight as her only weapon, Vanessa has to survive until 6am while going around and trying her best to still do her job, possibly finding ways to free each of the animatronics from Dr. Rabbits control in the process, leaving them husks in need of charging stations, much to Dr. Rabbits dismay- yet also intrigue. She'll collect tools such as the faz-wrench and make her way back up the ranks as she collects security badges, which Dr. Rabbit treats as "rewards" for passing his challenges. It's her duty to figure out what is going on at the Pizzaplex, even though she can't remember her job very well- she still wants to see it through to the end of the night. As she explores, she'll find that two series of arcade machines, the Princess Quest trilogy and Balloon World, may be the key to figuring out what exactly lead her down the path to where she is now, and what the deeper secret of the Pizzaplex is."

Arcelia is the daughter of Archie, and grew up a member of Team Aqua. Her whole life, she had complete confidence in Archie’s goals… at least, until the night she’s visited by a strange prophetic vision of her father meeting his demise at the hands of Kyogre.

Scared and unsure of how to confront her dad, she runs away, where she soon ends up in Littleroot Town. After saving Professor Birch from a wild Poochyena, she’s offered a roof over her head and warm place to sleep at his lab. Over the last few weeks, she’s been trying to repay him by acting as an assistant alongside his son Brendan… but it hasn’t exactly been easy work. Noticing her stress, Birch offered her a Pokémon of her own and suggested she go with Brendan on a trip around the region, in order to fill the Pokédex and collect all eight gym badges.

Now embarking on her journey, she’s excited but hesitant- both with the knowledge of her father’s possible fate looming over her, and the unfamiliar world she’d been warned was cold and unforgiving waiting for her to explore.

Arcelia has more stuff that’ll happen after her journey, so at some point you might see a big timeskip into her adulthood. for now though: Hoenn shenanigans GO!! ))

I've talked about Quark's clothing a bit before because he undeniably has the best clothing in the entire franchise. He communicates so much through his sartorial choices, as do all the Ferengi really.

Jesse doesn’t drink water. No one knows why. Asa has to force him to drink water.

Asa has a collection of ski masks that are all different. One has a lot of eyes, one looks like a disco ball, and another is white.

Asa’s fans like to give him crow gifts. Buttons, pins, coins, acorns, leaves… it’s kinda out of control.

Whenever Asa is stuck on a question, he likes to rub Jesse’s head, saying, “Magic 8 Ball, Magic 8 Ball. What should I do?” Then Jesse would answer, “Whatever and whoever the hell you want.”

Asa has a PhD in bugs and science. He could be a professor if he wanted but he likes writing music more.

The band was made by accident. Jesse was playing music one day in a bar and Asa told him he sucks. So, Asa got on stage with him and did a song together.

Asa and Jesse have a bro-mance. They’ll fight and throw hands one moment then hug it out the next.

Jesse has a photo of him at the beach with his adopted daughter and son in his wallet and back pocket when he performs. (Yeah, he has a family)

Jesse loves making the music videos and Asa makes the props.

Asa’s dogs do come on stage from time to time and the crowd goes nuts. They have merch and a fan base around them. They’re also featured on some songs, too, like barking, howling, and panting.

Asa is good friends with Lester Sinclair. Jonesy and Asa’s dogs have play dates on the road while the Sinclairs, Asa, and Jesse do a LIVE Jam on social media while raising money for an animal shelter.

They like to do backflips on stage.

Due to Asa’s resting bitch face, it’s hard to show his emotions. When he does smile and show joy, he brightens up the room.

If Jesse has his black jacket off and his back turned, you can see where he got stabbed on his shoulder.

Jesse likes to collect new skull masks from fans. His favorite one he gotten was from a little kid; it has a unicorn and some butterfly sticks.

There’s a segment in the show called “Bug Facts with The Collector”. During this time, a bug comes out and Asa gives a little science lesson about the bug and what it does.

Side note: There was a Boy Scout troop and he invited them on stage so they could get their Bug badge.

They like to perform near museums because they visit the day before the show. They meet fans, take photos, do autographs while looking at historical stuff and the big bug displays.

Jesse has been arrested for public intoxication and assault.

Asa sleep walks.

Jesse screams in his sleep.

Both go to therapy.

When they are on break, Asa likes to guest speak at schools about bugs and shows off his collection. Jesse goes home to his kids and partner; he takes this time to be a father and go to important events like ballet and games.
