Gojo couldn't pinpoint exactly when he sensed the change, but it was undeniably there. It wasn't a glaring transformation; instead, it manifested subtly through the way you and Suguru interacted. He had always recognized that the two of you were cut from the same cloth, born of the same feather - you could use any analogy, but the essence remained the same.

Even without the benefit of his Six Eyes, Gojo couldn't overlook how close you and Suguru had become. Initially, he didn't mind it, or at least he convinced himself as much. He attempted to brush off the feeling as best as he could, but he couldn't help but notice how you slightly tensed under his touch yet effortlessly melted into Suguru's warmth. He observed it in the way Suguru openly expressed his emotions to you, and how you reciprocated, all while Gojo remained in the dark.

The ironic part is, he couldn't harbor resentment over it. Especially not when both of you made sincere efforts to include him in every aspect.

Whenever you ventured around with Kento and Haibara, you'd return with an assortment of captivating trinkets, gifting them all to Gojo. Each one somehow reminding you of him. Your manner of bestowing these gifts had a certain nonchalance to it, as if the act was more of a hassle. Yet, Gojo could easily discern the genuine satisfaction that flickered in your eyes each time he accepted your offerings with a smile.

(Side Note: His room, once relatively bare within the mansion, had now transformed into an overabundance of these seemingly insignificant items you had collected during your travels. Few were privy to this fact, but he had explicitly instructed the servants not to disturb these items, opting to personally tend to their cleaning whenever the dust settled. However, based on how frequently he handled them, barely a speck of dust managed to find its way onto them.)

Each morning, on his way to Jujutsu High, Suguru would purchase konbini delicacies for Gojo. The bag would be packed with an assortment of ready-to-eat foods, including an egg salad sandwich, three garlic and mayonnaise-laden pork sausage onigiris, a variety of puddings, and a couple of those sparkling water drinks that Gojo was obsessed with.

(Side Note: Suguru, naturally, would purchase some food for you as well. However, just to ruffle your feathers, he'd opt for items you'd never laid your taste buds on before. Since your arrival in Japan, you'd ventured into trying a variety of new cuisines and managed to identify some go-to favorites that you indulged in regularly. Yet, this man had a peculiar penchant for introducing you to peculiar flavors that either awakened your palate or left you traumatized by their taste.)

(Add-On: Not to imply he didn't also buy your beloved comfort foods. Those were discreetly stashed away in his backpack. Given how often he pulled this trick, you usually had to wrestle his backpack off his shoulders just to access your treats. And then, Gojo would swoop in and grab them before you, playfully holding them above your head, taunting and teasing you.)

Either way, Gojo couldn't shake the feeling that something transpired between you and Suguru last week. The exact timing eluded him, but what he does know is that both of you were absent from school for two consecutive days before eventually resurfacing. There were no messages in either group chat, no responses to Gojo's texts—just an absolute wall of silence.

When the duo finally returned, it was almost as if nothing had occurred. They deftly evaded every inquiry with well-practiced nonchalance, much to Gojo's exasperation. And then came the shift in Suguru's and his behavior towards you. Well, if being honest, it wasn't entirely novel. Suguru had always displayed a protective streak when it came to you. Think back to the time Gojo accidentally hurt you during a footsie game beneath the table. If looks could kill, Gojo would've been six feet under by now.

Nevertheless, his protective instincts towards you had become subtly more pronounced. He hovered closely, always a step behind, though it might be attributed to your joint missions together. It appeared the higher-ups had taken pity on you, transitioning you from solo missions to partnered ones.

Throughout the week, the two of you had been dispatched on various missions. Occasionally, when Gojo completed his assignments early (he had been partnered with Kento, and their compatibility was less than stellar; Haibara had been granted a day off due to a mild illness), he would swing by to check in on you and Suguru. And he had to confess, watching the two of you collaborate to vanquish curses was truly a remarkable sight.

So, with your cursed chains, you've got this knack for putting curses in a tight spot, just enough time for Suguru to work his magic and send them packing. But, you know, you two aren't into keeping things simple. Nope, you like to go all out and make curses' lives a little more interesting.

Picture this: you set up traps that are like a spider's web, and the curses are the unlucky bugs that end up stuck right in the middle. The real brilliance? Suguru's the maestro who guides these curses right into your web of chains. It's like teamwork made in heaven.

What Suguru truly values about working with you is your unique ability to alter the core of curses. Your chains aren't limited to subduing; they possess the exceptional capability to absorb and transform. Through this absorption, you wield the power to modify various aspects of curses, turning their own energy against them and granting Suguru an edge in his exorcism efforts

When Suguru takes in curses, he's devouring the darkest fragments of humanity. So, when you saw him extend his hand toward a writhing mass of malevolence, you couldn't help but offer to share the load.

He hesitated, his doubt hanging in the air like a fading whisper. It was almost as if he feared believing in your words, as if hope itself was a fragile thing. Yet, in that unspoken trust you both held, he conceded. So he stood there, silently watching your graceful dance of spiritual chains, invisible to all but the likes of Gojo.

When it was time, you handed it back to him, and he consumed it, slowly, cautiously. It was like witnessing a smile returning to his eyes, a spark reigniting in the depths of his being. The taste was...nothingness. And the pain, the relentless ache he usually carried, dissipated dramatically.

You'll forever hold onto that memory, of his dark green aura lightening, his eyes turning toward you with a glimmer of hope and something deeper, something you dared not name.

Nevertheless, the shift in dynamics among the three of you left Gojo with a bittersweet taste, like the remnants of a fading dream.

It was Ieiri who found herself in the unusual role of comforter—or at least, her unique brand of comfort. If you could even call it that. She had a knack for subtly peppering him with teasing and sly remarks, cleverly diverting his attention from the shift in dynamics. It was her way of dealing with the situation, her way of saying, "I've got your back, even if it means poking fun at you."

Amidst this unspoken tension, their gazes occasionally flicked to catch the fleeting frowns that played on Gojo's lips whenever he observed the interactions between you and Suguru. It was as though they were all tiptoeing around the elephant in the room, leaving Ieiri as the bold soul who chose humor as her weapon of choice in navigating the uncharted waters of this evolving relationship.

(Side Note: Although Kento wasn't particularly fond of Gojo and his often infuriating antics, he couldn't stand to see his...well, let's just call him a "companion," frown. So, from time to time, when Kento was aware that Gojo was in the vicinity, he'd pick up something sweet. He knew Gojo had a soft spot for these treats, so he'd casually toss one in Gojo's direction. Most of the time, it would collide with Gojo's Infinite Void, but occasionally, on those rare moments, the confections would find their way to the back of his head.)

Ieiri had never been one for beating around the bush. So, when the two of you found yourselves once more beneath the weathered embrace of the wooden bridge on campus, stars winking overhead and smoke spiraling around you, she confronted you. Her approach was careful and cautious, an acknowledgment of the gravity that hung in the air.

"Something happened with Suguru, didn't it?" Ieiri inquired, her gaze fixed on the water trickling through her black socks. The nonchalant action struck a dissonant chord within you.

You squinted your eyes, considering briefly the path of feigned ignorance. However, the weight of truth beckoned, and you decided that the burden of falsehood was far too heavy.

With a casual shrug, you admitted, "You could say that."

As she exhaled another plume of smoke, the brunette posed another question, shrouded in the gentle cloak of uncertainty, "And what about me?"

At this, you hesitated, the lines of your brow etched with genuine perplexity.

"I don't follow."

In response to your words, the young teen let out an irritated click of her tongue, a spark of fading fire in her golden-brown eyes. She frowned at her own reflection rippling in the water.

"Of course, you don't."

For a time, the quietude settled between you, punctuated only by the celestial dance of stars above. From your vantage point, nestled beneath the bridge's embrace, you had a perfect view of their shimmering freedom, despite the barrier before you.

They twinkled with a grace foreign to your own world.

"Gojo's sulking."

"I know."

"So, you're ignoring it?"

"...Yeah."

"You're unbelievable, you know that?"

"So, you keep telling me."

Another stretch of silence enveloped you both before you posed a question of your own.

"How exactly... did you find out about the deal?"

Ieiri reached for another stick from the box, drawing closer to you, seeking your assistance in lighting it.

"Overheard it from the Zenin's when Yaga took me over for something."

The atmosphere thickened with tension, a sensation that didn't sit well with the young Shoko. Shifting uncomfortably where she sat, her brunette locks framing her face, she observed you through the rippling reflection in the water.

"Why were you near the Zenin household?" The chill in your voice unsettled her, but she could discern the restraint in your tone, an effort to temper the sharpness.

She offered a nonchalant shrug, attempting to downplay the unease that had settled over the conversation.

"They asked if I could help with a cursed technique gone awry. They didn't divulge many details."

Here we go, mind your words. Ieiri thought.

"What specifically, though?" Ieiri had always placed her trust in you, even after uncovering the layers of your past. Yet, in moments like these, your intensity still sent shivers down her spine, a blend of composure and wrath.

"I...don't know. It's hard to put into words. I mean, I never really saw it clearly — I think it was a person, though. But...it's all so confusing."

In that very moment, it was as if the harmonious symphony of nature — the crickets, the birds, even the whispering wind — had been swallowed by an eerie silence. Even the water, for the briefest of moments, seemed to take on a murky, uncertain hue.

"How come?" Your voice came slowly.

She clicked her tongue, eyes squinting at the ripples, "I swear... it was half-human, half-curse."

Ieiri's revelation hung in the air, a half-human, half-curse entity — a concept so enigmatic it seemed to defy the laws of their world. She had ventured into uncharted territory, and you couldn't resist exhaling a relieved sigh much to her surprise.

"And here, I thought you were going to say something else. Not gonna lie, feels like you're being a bit paranoid, no?"

Perhaps it was the way you suddenly regained your composure that cast doubt upon her words. Your eyes returned to their usual nonchalant demeanor, accompanied by that ever-charming lazy smile she adored so much.

Taking the cigarette from Ieiri's mouth, to her surprise, you allowed the burning end to dance playfully between your fingers, leaving them adorned with soot and a hint of injury.

"I don't think that's possible, Ieiri," you chimed in a sing-song manner. "Though, I must admit, it would be quite the intriguing twist if it were true — as fucked up as that may sound."

It was Ieiri who had to intervene, flicking the burning stick from your fingers, unwilling to witness further harm.

A soft chuckle escaped your lips at her gesture, and your hand reached out for hers. Her skin was smooth, unmarred, in stark contrast to your own. With your thumb, you traced gentle circles upon the back of her hand.

Ieiri found herself almost melting under your touch. It was a rarity, your tactile contact. You allowed a few into your personal sphere — Nanami, Suguru, and Satoru — but even then, physical closeness was a privilege extended sparingly. Ieiri nodded, finding solace in your warmth.

She unveils the box, and with your assistance, a slender stick finds its way into your fingers. You delicately place it upon Ieiri's awaiting lips, a small smile gracing your features as you ignite the tip. Your eyes remain locked onto her warm, brown gaze.

An addiction.

She leans into you, her head resting gently upon your shoulder. Together, you both peer down at the tranquil stream below, while your gaze finds solace in the expanse of the night sky above.

Kindred spirits.

The closest of confidants.

For she is your dearest friend, and you are hers, right?

Still, a question lingered in the recesses of her thoughts.

Despite the burning desire to give voice to her question, she'd rather keep the peace.

Perhaps, in that moment, it was her silent acquiescence that marked her eventual undoing.

Witnessing the relentless flow of time as each ripple becomes a reminder of moments slipping away. It's the cruel paradox of her life, forever tied to the present while yearning for the elusive permanence of the past.

The irony lies in their contrasting perspectives, for while you yearn for the freedom of the stars, you remain tethered to your earthly burdens. And Ieiri, who gazes into the depths of time, is paradoxically trapped in the present, unable to escape the relentless flow of existence.

Irony: The act of looking up at the sky has always been viewed as a hopeful action.

Irony: Sitting by a river, holding hands, is an intimate act. Almost romantic. (This is one-sided.)

Some people use pain as a way to ground themselves back in reality. Such as snapping a plastic band on their wrist, pinching themselves, and what-not. But burning yourself is a dangerous and unhealthy method. I only use this is to show your more unhinged side.

The only reason 'Satoru' is used in this episode is because it was written in Ieiri's POV. You have yet to say it yourself.

You are not against gaslighting your friends in order to get what you want. You're not a good person just as you aren't a bad person. You're just a slave to circumstance.

You also know that Ieiri is a fan of physical touch so you use it against her. Confusing her with incredibly intimate actions to distract her.

I had absolutely no idea what did episode was going to be about.

Initially, this episode was intended to bear the title 'Cirice.' The plan was for it to be chock-full of lore, unveiling some significant, long-held secrets. However, during a call with my bestie, I experienced a breakthrough and made a radical decision to overhaul it entirely. Some of you might have witnessed the chaos I caused with the TCT Masterlist and the TCT Timeline - that was actually me attempting to find the most suitable pacing for everything.

Initially, Suguru was meant to dodge your attempts to retrieve your snacks and dangle them above your head. However, I wanted to incorporate a more trio-based interaction into this scenario.

Ieiri was initially meant for a brief appearance, but fate had other plans.

"...his eyes turning toward you with a glimmer of hope and something deeper, something you dared not name..." The emotion you dared not name is adoration.

"...left Gojo with a bittersweet taste, like the remnants of a fading dream." Is a direct reference to Gojo waking up from his dream. His dream is the Hidden Inventory Arc.

"And what about me?" This is Ieiri's way of asking you if you've not is how your actions impact her personally. When you respond, "I don't follow." You are lying. You do know, you're just ignoring it.

"An addiction..." This line concealed not just her nicotine craving but also her yearning for your undivided attention.

"For she is your dearest friend, and you are hers, right?" It is a direct reference to how Suguru and Gojo are Ieiri's best friends yet she isn't their's.

"...Despite the burning desire to give voice to her question, she'd rather keep the peace..." I'm a firm believer that had Ieiri taken a bit of initiative in creating a more intimate connection with the boys, they might've considered her a best friend. At the very least, a close one.

"...Perhaps, in that moment, it was her silent acquiescence that marked her eventual undoing..." Foreshadowing.

Cursed technique gone wrong? Half-human, half-curse? The fuck?

Also, how the fuck do you know the ZENIN CLAN? Like yeah, you play the game but even then, what exactly is this so-called game?

The question you should be asking yourself, as a reader, is simple --- on which side are you? Are you on the winning side with Gojo and Ieiri? Or are you on the losing side with Suguru, Haibara, and Kento?

And what did you mean by 'Deal'? It's like the second or third time we hear this.

Chapter 8- Razzle...

"Do not tell Vince." Nikki ordered breathlessly from where he was laying on his back on the couch.

You tilted your head up from his chest to look at him, "you think I want to tell my big brother about this?"

Nikki opened his mouth to respond before someone suddenly knocked on the door across the room.

Your blood turned to ice fearing that it was Vince, and you knew for a fact that you hadn't locked the door during the heat of everything that had just happened. Fuck.

Nikki must have come to the same conclusion because he practically threw you off him, your body crashing against the soft cushion of the couch before he rushed over to the pile of messy clothes. He began to quickly pull his pants on while throwing you various items of clothing that you hurriedly put on too.

"Hey, Sixx. Tommy's looking for ya!" Doc's voice called out from the other side of the door.

You let out a shaky sigh of relief at the managers voice and buttoned up your jeans while Nikki made his way to the door after slipping his shirt on over his head. He glanced back at you making sure you were now clothed, and by clothed, you had pants and a bra on because your shirt seemed to be MIA right now.

Nikki pulled open the door while adjusting himself in his pants to find Doc leaning against the doorframe with an unamused expression.

"Tommy wants to introduce you to his parents." The manager informed before glancing over Nikki's shoulder towards you. "Seems like you both need to be getting cleaned up."

Doc walked away without asking for an explanation because, well, he didn't need one. It wouldn't have taken much to figure out what you and Nikki had been doing. You just hoped like hell that the manager kept his mouth shut about it because if Vince ever found out... nope, you didn't even want to think about that.

"This never happened, yeah?" Nikki asked, glancing over at you.

You nodded, "obviously."

"Good."

With that, Nikki walked out the dressing room closing the door behind himself leaving you standing by the couch holding your shirt in your hands and debating your entire life choices.

The following day the band was on the road in the tour bus heading back to Los Angeles.

Vince was asleep at the back of the bus and Mick, well, he might be asleep as well. It was hard to tell with his dark sunglasses and quietness. Tommy and Nikki were chattering away, Tommy rambling about some kind of idea with his drum set while Nikki sniffed a line of coke from the table between them.

You sat in your usual seat at the back of the bus near Vince reading a book that you had lost interest in about 20 pages ago, but there was nothing else to do on the bus, so you kept reading anyway.

"Hey, Rox, you got a pen? Give me a pen." Tommy suddenly called out.

Oh, yeah, she was also on the bus. But you were trying very hard to pretend she wasn't. Her and Tommy were now engaged too, and you were also trying very hard to ignore that fact.

Tommy could do so much better than her.

"Your mum's a cunt." Roxy suddenly declared.

That had your head snapping up from the book in utter shock at the unexpected comment. Tommy spun around in his seat so quickly he nearly gave himself whiplash as he looked at his girlfriend in the seat behind him.

"What? Why would you say that?"

"Because she is. She's a cunt."

"Quit it. Give me the pen, alright?"

"I don't even know why you told them. It's not like she has anything to do with us getting married."

Your novel was long forgotten as you observed the little domestic dispute that was far more entertaining than your book had ever been.

"Baby, it's sweet, alright? It's tradition." Tommy tried to explain.

"Which tradition? The mandatory meeting of the cunt!" Roxy abruptly stood up from her seat and Tommy did as well, the two of them now in each other's faces.

"Don't call her that again, you hear me?" He hissed, glaring at her before he sat back down and turned to face Nikki.

"Here's your pen!"

Roxy pulled a pen out from her pocket and stabbed it into his shoulder.

"Ow! What the fuck is wrong with you?!" Tommy shouted, clutching his injured shoulder where the pen was still sticking out the back of it as he stared up at his fiancé in shock.

"Fuck you and fuck your mother!" Roxy yelled.

"No. Fuck you, bitch!" You shouted, standing up from your seat because there was no way you were letting her get away with stabbing Tommy.

Roxy spun around at your voice, her eyes hardening in your direction before you marched down the narrow aisle of the bus until you were in her face.

"Sit the fuck down and don't say another word until we get to the city. Understood?" You ordered sternly.

You wanted nothing more than to punch her in her perfectly stupid face, but she was still Tommys fiancé, so you restrained yourself.

"His mother is a fucking cunt and so are you!" Roxy spat in your face. "I always knew there was something going on between you two. You're just Mötley Crüe's little slut who-"

You didn't wait for her to finish before you grabbed her arm and pushed the woman down the aisle towards the front of the bus.

"Let go of me! You fucking whore!" Roxy screamed yanking her arm free.

You tried to grab her again but then her ringed fist collided with the side of your face. The guys behind you all gasped at the hit, your head snapping to the side from the unexpected punch.

"Whoa!" Nikki exclaimed clearly not expecting it either.

"That's it. This fucking bitch is out of here. Pull over!" Tommy shouted.

"Fuck it." You muttered to yourself before slamming your own fist into her nose.

Roxy cried out in pain stumbling back a few steps from the hit while clutching at her now bloodied and probably broken nose.

"Get the fuck off this bus!" You ordered, pointing at the door just as the driver pulled over on the side of the road. "Don't make me say it again."

Roxy looked up at you from behind her messy hair as blood dripped out from between her fingers around her nose. She didn't speak, she didn't say anything else before she turned and rushed out the now open door.

"We're in the middle of nowhere." The bus driver informed over his shoulder.

"The bitch can hitchhike. I don't give a shit." You muttered, looking down at your bloodied knuckles that hurt more than your stinging cheek.

The driver simply nodded and closed the door of the bus before putting his foot back down on the accelerator continuing along the road. You sucked in a deep breath, adrenaline soaring through your veins from the fight as you turned around to find Nikki, Tommy, Mick and Vince -who was now well and truly awake- all staring at you with wide eyes.

Nobody said anything for a moment as you stared at each other before Nikki broke the silence.

"Is it bad that I was kinda turned on by that?"

You shot him a glare but there was no real heat behind it. Vince stood up from his napping spot at the far end of the bus and walked past whacking the bassist on the back of the head for that comment.

"Are you okay?" Your brother asked, stopping in front of you and eyeing the reddening mark on your cheek.

"Yeah. Bitch can't throw a decent punch." You shrugged off.

"But you can." Mick pointed out with an impressed tone.

You looked back down at your bloodied knuckles and Vince followed your line of sight and frowned when he saw that you had split the skin on your three middle knuckles.

"Make a fist for me." Vince instructed, holding his own hand out and making a fist with his for you to copy.

You mimicked his actions slowly, your hand hurting at the movement, but you were able to do it and that seemed to be a good sign.

"You didn't break anything.” Vince announced before he glanced around the bus in search of something. "Tommy, grab me that bottle."

Tommy didn't move though. He seemed to be frozen to his chair while he stared at your bloodied knuckles with wide panicked eyes.

"Here." Nikki said, grabbing the vodka from the table and tossing it over.

Your brother caught the bottle with ease before unscrewing the lid and pouring the liquid over your split knuckles without any prior warning.

"Son of a bitch!" You hissed, gritting your teeth as the alcohol burned against the exposed flesh. "Warn a girl next time. Jesus Christ."

Vince snorted softly, "thought you were tougher than that."

"Screw you, bro." You winced before looking back at Tommy who seemed to be in some kind of state of shock. "Tommy, I'm sorry for punching your fiancé."

Your words were enough to snap him out of whatever the hell that was because his hazel eyes met yours before he quickly shook his head.

"No. No. Thank you. I mean, fuck, I think I would've punched her if you didn't. Jesus. I can't believe that just happened." Tommy hurriedly said, like he was still trying to process everything. "Are you okay though?"

You raised your eyebrows, "I wasn't the one who got stabbed with a pen."

Tommys eyes widened further having completely forgotten about the pen as he turned around to find that it was still sticking out the back of his shoulder.

Nikki stood up and grabbed the pen yanking it out without warning causing Tommy to wince, "thanks, dude."

"You're not gonna marry that girl, are you?" Mick asked, sounding almost afraid that Tommy would say yes.

"After she just punched Y/N? Hell no!" Tommy answered causing your heart to flutter a little at his words. "That bitch is gone forever."

It had started out as a barbecue with the guys to celebrate the kick-off of their third album, but it soon turned into their usual rowdy party.

Vince's mansion by the beach had become the new designated party house. You had lost track of who was even at the party because there were that many people.

You hadn't moved far from the couch in the main living area because Tommy and Nikki were also seated around the coffee table and the three of you chatted, drank and the guys got high. Most of the others at the party left you three alone which was a relief. You weren't in a very sociable mood and the guys seemed to notice too because they didn't leave your side and seemed happy enough to sit with you.

"Alright, alright, never have I ever... slept with a mother and her daughter on the same night." Tommy suddenly said because apparently the three of you were back in high school playing this stupid game.

Nikki snickered from beside you before bringing his bottle of Jack to his lips causing your eyes to widen.

"You're kidding, right?" You asked in shock.

Nikki shook his head, "nope."

"Jesus Christ." You laughed.

“Wait, wait, wait.” Nikki suddenly said, holding his hand up as he looked over at Tommy. “You have done that too.”

Tommy smirked, “no. I slept with a daughter, the mother, and the grandmother on the same night.”

Your jaw dropped. Shit like this shouldn’t even surprise you by now. After all these years living with them, touring with them and being around them constantly, nothing should really surprise you. Yet the Terror Twins always found a way.

"Can I join?" Tom Zutaut asked, walking over and sitting on the couch across the coffee table.

"Sure!" Tommy replied enthusiastically. "You can go after Nikki."

"Never have I ever... gotten a speeding ticket."

You looked over at Nikki having expected some out-of-pocket crazy thing, but surprised at how mundane those words were compared to the shit him and Tommy were saying earlier.

"Wait, how have you never gotten a ticket?" You asked, taking a drink of your rum along with Tommy and Tom.

Nikki shrugged, "charmed my way out of 'em."

You scoffed, bumping your shoulder into his playfully before leaning back against the couch and kicking your boots up on the coffee table. Tommy mimicked you, kicking his own boots up and piling them on top of yours before Nikki did the same and the three of you literally had your boots stacked on top of each other's.

"Never have I ever..." Tom began to say before he trailed off struggling to think of something before his eyes flashed over to you. "Never have I ever slept with a member of Mötley Crüe."

Your heart skipped a beat at his question, and you quickly scanned the room for your brother, but he was nowhere in sight before you glanced over at Nikki and Tommy who were seated either side of you.

Then, the three of you took a sip of your drinks simultaneously and Toms eyes widened.

"Wait, wait, wait, did the three of you..." He trailed off but you knew where his mind had automatically gone.

A threesome.

"No!" You and Nikki both quickly said and Tommys head suddenly shot over at Nikki and his hazel eyes widened into saucers.

"When did you two... how did... what?!" Tommy stuttered in utter shock.

Oh, right. He didn't know about that.

"It happened once. Calm down." Nikki dismissed.

"Calm down? Dude, you grilled me when you found out that I fucked her and now-"

"I am sitting right here." You spoke up, looking between the two of them and they both instantly shut their mouths. "It happened. It's in the past and it stays there. Got it?"

Both guys nodded before you looked over at Tom and raised your eyebrow in a silent question.

"Oh, I'm not going to say anything."

"Good." You nodded before draping your arms around the back of the couch behind Nikki and Tommy, your boots still stacked on the coffee table just as Mick walked over and sat down with a slight grimace.

"You okay there, Mick?" Tommy asked.

"Yeah. My back hurts from carrying this band all tour."

You chuckled softly at his words and drank the last of your rum before announcing that you were going to get a refill and the guys reluctantly lifted their boots off yours allowing you to get up.

"Y/N, can you control your brother?" Sharise's voice suddenly called out.

You looked towards the front of the house to find the two of them by the front door and you smiled at the pregnant woman before glaring at your brother.

"What did you do now?" You asked.

"Nothing! Raz and I are just gonna get some more booze. We'll be right back." Vince dismissed.

"Fine, but we're taking my truck." You said, pulling out your car keys from your pocket.

"Whyyyy?" Vince asked dramatically. "You're rich and you still drive a shitty truck."

"Your fancy ass car has no backseats bro. Where the hell are you gonna put the alcohol?" You asked causing Vince to pause thinking about your question before he nodded.

"Okay. I'm driving."

You eyed him cautiously, "how much have you had to drink?"

You would offer to drive but knew you had drunk a little too much over the past few hours. If the Police pulled you over for a random breath test, you would not pass it and you weren't sure if Vince would either.

"I'm fine." He snatched the keys from your hand before turning to his wife. "Be right back, babe."

"The baby's kicking." Sharise suddenly said, grabbing Vinces's hand and resting it over her pronounced baby bump. "Do you feel it?"

Vince smiled brightly his hand resting against her stomach before he leant forward and kissed her and you had to look away, a little envious of their relationship.

You were never going to have something like that.

"Let's go, Loverboy!" You called over your shoulder.

"Raz, are you coming?" Vince shouted from behind you as you walked out the front door.

"Twice already today, mate." Came Razzle's British accent.

You rolled your eyes at his response and walked straight past Vince's bright red '72 Ford Pantera and paused beside your old Ford truck which you couldn't unlock because your brother had stolen the keys.

After more grumbling about not being able to take his sports car, the three of you were on the road heading to the liquor store. Despite your truck being old and shitty, your brother had a lead foot and screeched into the parking lot in record time.

"If you wear out the brakes. You're paying for it." You warned, jumping out the backseat.

"Paying for new brake pads will cost more than the fucking car itself." Vince muttered.

"Best not ruin 'em, eh mate?" Razzle responded patting Vince's shoulder as the three of you entered the liquor store.

The guys made a beeline for the beer aisle while you ducked around the side of the store and grabbed a couple bottles of Jack Daniels and Vodka knowing Nikki, Tommy and Mick would probably appreciate it.

There was another man in a trench coat a few metres away looking over the liquor bottles but as you walked past on your way to the cash register, he quickly turned his attention to you and whistled.

"Hey there pretty thing."

His voice was slightly slurred as he spoke, clearly drunk, so you kept walking figuring it was best to ignore this random stranger.

"Hey! I'm talking to you."

The drunk man was surprisingly quick on his feet because within a blink of an eye, he was jogging over and stopping in front of you blocking your path. His dark eyes scanned you up and down taking in your tight pants and tank top as he licked his lips.

"I'm not interested." You stated sternly before he had the chance to say anything else.

"Oh, come on. Give me a chance." He begged reaching for your hand, but you took a quick step back.

"Everything okay here?" Razzle's voice suddenly questioned.

"Fuck off. She's mine."

Razzle reached your side and looped his arm around yours protectively as he stared at the stranger cautiously.

"I was here first pal!" The drunk man slurred.

He suddenly stepped forward and tried to grab your hand once again, but Razzle was quick to shove him back with his free hand causing the drunk man to stagger back in surprise.

"Hey! What the fuck is going on?!" Vince's voice boomed.

You glanced to your left to find your brother marching around the corner of the aisle holding a carton of beer over his shoulder while glaring at the stranger who had gotten a little too close to you.

"This asshole was just leaving. Ain’t ya, mate?" Razzle prompted staring at the drunk man.

"Too bad, sweet cheeks. I got something big that would've made ya feel real good." He smirked while groping his own crutch before leaving the store.

Vince marched over in sudden rage, but you quickly held your arm out stopping your brother from chasing after the man.

"I should knock his ass out!" Vince spat glaring in the direction the stranger had gone.

"No need, mate. He's gone. Let's get back to the party, yeah?" Razzle said unhooking his arm from yours and stepping in front of Vince trying to calm the singer down.

"Raz is right. Let's go, Vin." You encouraged nodding towards the cash register across the store.

Vince let out a deep exhale but nodded in agreement before leading the way to pay for the alcohol. You began following after him before Razzle grabbed your arm gently catching your attention.

"Are you okay, love? That guy didn't do anything before I got here, did he?"

You smiled softly, "no. He didn't. Thank you for stepping in."

"If I didn't, I'm sure that brother of yours would've." Razzle replied nodding in Vince's direction. "He's a protective one, ain't he?"

"Sometimes too protective." You admitted.

Vince Neil had his flaws and issues like every person did. But he was always a good brother.

From the day you were dumped at his family's doorstep in a basket as a baby, he had taken you under his wing. He stood up for you and protected you when nobody else did. He got you out of that abusive home and allowed you to join his band, Rock Candy, which then led to Mötley and turned your entire life around.

You owed everything to Vince.

Hell, you even changed your surname to get rid of the last remaining attachment to your father. Vince suggested changing it to Neil, and you never looked back.

A couple hundred dollars' worth of beer later, enough to keep the party going for several more hours, you were back on the road. The alcohol was stacked up on the backseat beside you while Vince drove, and Razzle sat shotgun talking shit with each other.

"What does this mysterious person benefit from my sexual humiliation?" Razzle asked trying to dodge your brother's stupid question.

"I don't know, man, but you're definitely gonna die if you don't fucking pick." Vince responded.

"Y/N, what do ya reckon?" Raz asked glancing over his shoulder.

"Don't drag me into this." You responded raising your hands causing Razzle and Vince to laugh.

"Come on, man. Pick."

"In that case, I think I'd have to go with the Lauper. At least she's got the proper plumbing." Raz finally answered before pausing and shaking his head. "Hey, no, but Georgie boy, he's probably more experienced in the handling of a penis. So..."

Vince looked over at Razzle and laughed causing the Brit to start laughing too while you rolled your eyes from the backseat and began to regret coming for this drive with the two of them.

You leant forward to say some sarcastic comment but then you saw a flash of bright headlights through the front windshield.

"Vince!" You screamed, realising too late that he had drifted across the lane into oncoming traffic.

The last thing you heard was the deafening crash of metal on metal before you were thrown across the backseat and then... nothing.

In which Lilith Clawthorne becomes a mentor for a human who’d stumbled into the Boiling Isles.

The winding corridors of the castle had taken some getting used to- Chris had to be given a mini map in the form of an orb he’d carried around, urged time and time again to never let anyone outside of the coven get ahold of. It floated above his palm, shifting with each movement he made. Better to focus on said item rather than the lingering looks he always got- having never received a coven uniform and instead cloaked in his… usual human clothes.

Very out of place.

Perhaps he could learn magic, as foolish as it seemed. Lilith hadn’t audibly entertained the idea, in fact ever since they’d met she’d been minimal comments and the kindest emotion she’d displayed was obedience towards the emperor.

His free hand reached towards the door, unlocking it with the key he held in his sleeve as he welcomed the sight of the fine room. As a coven leader, she’d been granted lesser inspections and fine luxuries. Tomes and novels lined a large bookshelf and her nightstand, a hot plate resting snugly in a crevice he eyed.

“Hello,” she curtly greeted, legs tucked criss cross with her back against the headboard of her bed. Her hands skimmed the pages of her book. Chris paused before closing the door behind him, briskly walking towards his own bed as he continued to toy with the orb.

“You hold a real fascination for that thing, hm.” She observed, flipping to the next page of her book.

“Yeah.” He swallowed, adjusting his position in bed once more. “Uh, Ms. Lilith?”

“Hm?” She hummed, thumb swiping at the corner of another page.

“Do you think I could learn magic?”

The question weighed heavy in the air as she peered up from her book, “Humans can’t practice magic, for now you’ll have to look for other ways to assist the emperor.” She declared.

Chris sighs.

He’d assumed as much.

He tilted his wrist, the orb following. “If only. Watching you do magic.. it’s really cool.” He admitted, and suddenly her interest was far more piqued.

“You think so?”

“Yeah! There’s a reason why you’re leader of the coven, right?” He shifted the orb once more, “How many years did it take you anyway?”

She cleared her throat, settling her: Eat, Sleep, History, Repeat bookmark into the page she was currently on. “Many. Many years of study- being a witch is a whole feat of itself.“ Ah, lecture mode.

“Could I watch you do magic? Just.. a small spell? And why can’t humans do spells?” Questions continued to tumble from his lips, curiosity building. The Boiling Isles were truly intriguing.

“Presumably, in ancient times witches could cast spells in ways differing from present times. Nowadays, there is a sack at the pericardium of a witch’s heart that holds fluid needed for magic.” Lilith explains, smoothing out her skirt. “That is something only a witch’s anatomy contains.” She concludes, brushing invisible dust off of the cover of her book as she snaps the hardcover shut (with care, of course). “Magic doesn’t simply appear out of nowhere, as most humans like to believe.” She sends a knowing glance up at Chris, quirking her eyebrow.

“I thought it came from like… ancient runes? Or something with power imbued somewhere.. like an energy source..?” He trails off, shrugging his shoulders. Magic wasn’t something he’d pondered a whole lot, the hustle and bustle of everyday life taking priority over whatever fantasy he’d conjured up for a story in his limited free time.

Now, he had all the time to think about it.

“That’s plausible.” She hums, “But alas, cardiac bile is what’s been powering witches as of present.”

Chris’ face hardens slightly,

“Ah! But I’m sure you could.. try?” Her hands are awkwardly midair in some frozen position of reassurance from across the room, “I’ve heard of more far fetched things occurring!” Her voice tapers off awkwardly, tinging into something out of her field.

“That’s plenty reassuring,” he rolls his shoulders, head tipping back, then side to side in a few resounding cracks that reverberate in the room. “Worst case scenario.. there are other things I can try to learn here. I don’t want to just sit around all day doing nothing.”

Lilith’s eyes flit down to the cover of her book once more that lay upon her lap. “That’s… understandable.”

Silence fell between them once more.

“But I’d love to help you in any way I can! And maybe I could learn magic somehow along the way.” Hope filled his eyes as she glanced over once more, hands on her knees moving to clasp each other softly.

“I suppose so.”

He looked so.. so youthful. Something she’d never really considered or given a second thought to.

So… like her. Back when she was just starting in magic. Her eyes cast down to her book, slight smile playing at her lips. A distant memory of when she’d been a young hopeful witch.

“Would you teach me?”

Her head snapped up, “What?”

He curled in on himself, wondering if he’d spoken out of line. “Ah- sorry.” Brows pinching as he took a peculiar interest in his socks rather than the witch across from him. What was he thinking? Some lady he’s barely known just shy of a few days teaching him magic? Something he was biologically not capable of- at least from what he knew. She was a respected leader here, he couldn’t just waltz in and add more to her plate-

“If you find a way, I’ll teach you.”

“Wait- really?” He gasped, hands tapping his knees excitedly, “You would?”

She nods, watching as Chris almost jumps out of his skin (in a good way), buzzing like a bee as his hands flap excitedly. “Could I do research? Like- if there’s a library? Or something like that- or your books, if you don’t mind, of course.” His hands move as he speaks, gaze expectantly meeting Lilith’s.

She raises an index finger in a signal to wait, “Feel free- don’t bend them though, or dog ear any pages, or-“

“Proper book etiquette, of course. I hate when people ruin books.” He frowns in understanding, “I’ll take care of them!”

“Good. May my books rest assured, then.” She hums, leaning back to continue reading, but not before sparing him a warning glance. It didn’t hold too much fire when the victim of said glance was brimming with anticipation on what was to come.

She exhaled, and to her mirth picked up from where she left off in her book.

ooohhh would you mind sharing the reasons you don't like booktok? i have some reasons of my own but im really interested in the opinion who actually has to deal with the consequences of it all more directly. only if you want of course!

(Prefacing this with the fact that this is just my opinion, not meant to be emblematic of like... booksellers as a whole, or my employer, or anything. It's also anecdata; nothing here is backed up by anything more than personal observation. I'm just a guy with a keyboard and an attitude. This also isn't meant to be a dig at anybody's taste in books/stories. I'm a supernatural blog, I have no legs to stand on in that regard.)

The things I most dislike about booktok, in no particular order:

1). The tendency toward quick consumption of stories without deeper or more lasting investment is an issue I have with a lot of media (see: Netflix dropping an entire series of something that everyone has watched, and then moved on from, in a week), but I think the problems inherent to that model of engagement become acute when the media in question is books. Novels are long-form storytelling by design; you're meant to sit with them for a while. Books in a series can take years, even decades, between publication. It's hard to convince people to engage with stories on that kind of timescale when we're constantly having our attention spans whittled away under a neverending barrage of buy-the-next-thing consumerism.

2). Tiktok is not only a principal motivator for this kind of behavior, it literally could not exist without it. Booktok doesn't encourage people to sit with books for a long time. It encourages you to *constantly* be consuming something new, *constantly* be pushing your friends to do the same, *constantly* be gaming the algorithm if you want to have any kind of significant presence. The environment does not encourage deep-dives; it leaves no time for contemplation. If you're participating in the culture as designed, you move through books very quickly.

From a business perspective (i.e. the capitalistic one), this is great. From the perspective of an indie bookseller, this is a pain in the ass on so many levels. Have you ever worked a retail Christmas rush? Where something you'd normally sell maybe three of in a year is suddenly The Hot Item, and the public demands you have 9000 of them in stock overnight?

It's unpleasant, is what I'm saying.

2b). The other thing this encourages? Stories that do not challenge people. Again, this is not to slander anyone's personal tastes. But ask yourself: what plays well to the greatest audience? What is most likely to draw customers, gain views, boost engagement? It isn't nuance. It isn't subtlety, isn't grappling with complex morality. All of those are things which I personally find intensely valuable about the experience of reading, and which I find pretty uniformly lacking in booktok's thing-of-the-week. This has an interesting overlap with the resurgence of censorship and purity culture that I think is worth examining, and maybe I'll rant about that some other time. As it stands, I find the trend toward Marvel-ification of fiction (simpler! louder! less nuance! more buzzwords!) to be obnoxious.

3). Speaking of buzzwords, the trend toward marketing new fiction using only a half-assed combination of tropes and comps drives me up a wall. I can't tell you how many ARCs I've seen in the last few months with bare-bones summaries and blurbs to the effect of "for fans of enemies-to-lovers and Game of Thrones, an endearing story of found family and the power of love!" Ok?? Fine in moderation, I guess, but even if I liked all of those things, what is in this book? Did the publisher not bother... asking the writer? Did they not leave them time to write a proper summary? Did they just not care, and hope replace a genuine marketing strategy with SEO?

Idk, maybe there's a benefit to this I can't see. Drives me absolutely bonkers, though.

4). The tags for my original post mentioned Colleen Hoover, who is the target of my ire at the moment because I've been pulling books for her fans all week, per point (2). No offense intended to Ms. Hoover, who I know nothing about but I'm sure is a perfectly normal author looking to get paid for her work, or even to her books, which are not my kind of thing but clearly are somebody's. FULL offense to Hachette for those books, though. They are everything I hate in paperback form: boring, ugly cover after boring, ugly cover. Really REALLY cheaply printed; about 1 in 3 arrive with some kind of damage, because they're so badly made that they don't hold up to even light jarring during shipping. The binding is... sad. Like. Even very bad books deserve better than this. But does the publisher care? Are they motivated to craft a higher quality product? Like hell they are! Because every booktok-er will buy them anyway. They're not interested in a product that will last; they're not looking for an object to cherish for life, a book to pick up and read over and over and over and over again until the spine cracks and the pages start falling out. That'll happen to these goddamn things by the second reread, but how many of them will get that reread is debatable, because by then I'll be selling that crowd The Next New Big Thing.

Relax (Darkiplier x Reader)

I figured this will be my first text post on Tumblr. This is inspired by one of Dark’s fake choices in A Date With Markiplier.

I’m sitting in the living room, reading my novel while Dark is away, going about his day. I hear the front door open, looking up and seeing Dark stride into the house, a grocery bag in hand. He closes the door and turns to look at me, tugging on his tie to loosen it slightly. I give him a smile, book forgotten.

“Hello Dark, welcome home.” I greet the taller man.

Dark shoots me a small smile.

“Hello, darling.” He returns in greeting as he closes and locks the door.

I look at the bag in his hand, curiosity growing since I’ve already gone on a grocery run two days ago.

“Did I forget to get something when I went grocery shopping?”

Dark follows my line of sight, before looking at me with a glint in his eyes.

“Not at all.”

He walks over to the couch I’m sitting on and sits beside me, setting the bag onto the coffee table.

“You can take a look at what I’ve brought if you’re that curious, darling.” He encourages.

I smile slightly at his words, pulling the bag towards myself and taking a look at the items contained in the bag. Staring at the items I feel my confusion grow at the odd combination.

Setting the bag onto the coffee table once more, I look at the entity beside me, tilting my head slightly.

“Yellow habanero peppers and a container of cinnamon powder?” My question causes Dark to smirk, a sinister gleam in his eyes.

“I have but one thing to ask of you, dearest…do you by chance, have any waterproof eyeliner on hand?”

His request causes me to blink, still confused as to where this is going.

“Yes, I have some.” I reply, tone filled with confusion.

My answer causes Dark to grin.

“Excellent, I’d like to borrow it, if you don’t mind.”

“Uh, sure.” I say, standing.

“I’ll go get it for you.” With that said, I walk to our shared bedroom and grab the item in question.

Making my way back to the living room, I see that Dark had fully loosened his tie and shrugged off his suit jacket. The first few buttons of his pristine, white button up shirt are undone, giving me a glimpse of smooth, pale grey skin.

Retaking my seat beside him, I pass him the eyeliner, watching as he reads the words on it. Letting out a pleased hum, he sets it next to the plastic bag on the table.

Turning to face him, I give him a pointed look.

“Alright, spill…what are you planning this time?” I question with a small smirk.

My words cause him to chuckle.

“You know me so well,” He says with a fond look towards me.

“Let’s just say…I’m going to have a little swim in a certain snake’s pool.” His words cause me to laugh, knowing that he has something in mind to mess with Actor.

I gently turn his face towards me, thumbs gently tracing the sides of his face as I observe him.

“I can see why you’d want the eyeliner then, you won’t strike a fearsome image if your eyeliner smudges from the water.” I muse out loud.

“Exactly.” Dark purrs with a smirk.

I smirk back at him.

“Do give him hell.” I say in a gleeful tone.

“Oh, I will and don’t worry…I’ll be sure to record it.” Dark says in a matching tone.

*Sometime later, after Dark paid Actor a visit.*

We sit, watching for the hundredth time…the recording of Dark pouncing on Actor and stuffing his face with habanero peppers and cinnamon powder, laughing our heads off.

“Oh God.” I manage to gasp between my laughter.

“Wait till Wilford sees this!” I giggle as I turn towards the laughing man beside me.

“Though the white tie was a nice touch to your outfit.” I compliment, amused.

Dark manages to rein in his laughter enough to answer me.

“I may be wearing swim trunks and a tee-shirt, but I do have my standards.”
