The whole transandrophobia discussion thing is weird bc it feels like it's a bunch of poc and jewish trans people being like "here are my experiences of how specifically being MASCULINE had affected me, and the discrimination and violence I experienced based on that. And here is how that relates to me being a racial/ethnic minority"

And then a few loud white trans people going "ohhh you wanna be oppressed so bad you *slur*. This is why there aren't any poc in your movement it's because REAL poc understand intersectionality"

#idk why but I was hit with the vivid image of the puppets holding a music box that guides whoever they're calling to down through the caves #Each song different yet the same for each of them #Behold Bruce's first time to the Dollhouse lol #Idk if it's canon to Phoenix's but honestly I like to think that the first doll Bruce encountered was the one that'd eventually be robin #Since he was a child when he fell down in the well and into the tunnels beneath #batman au #bruce wayne #possessed doll au #possessed puppet au #sketch #art #First time down there it's more cave like but as time goes on it shifts #Some of it from them working on stuff and others on its own #The table getting longer and larger as the family grows even if not there yet #The puppets know when to emerge from the shadows and join the others at the table #I like to think the patriarch puppet is damaged the first time Bruce goes down #maybe mimicking a certain father's wounds before he died but maybe not still debating that #god i love this au #Honestly their eyes are empty like sockets because they don't have the lights or glass yet #just darkness :)

I love the shape language for Machete and Vasco, how angular and pointy the former is VS how round and soft the other... It's so GOOD I adore that

Thank you! I like the contrast as well, it makes them very fun to draw together. I try to keep them visually distinct while still making sure that they look harmonious and complementary next to each other.

#some more design musings that I've noticed that don't really matter but I tend to think about when drawing them:#Machete's shapes have an upward direction the ears the neck fluff and even the tip of his snout has that upturned angle #while Vasco's vibe is more loose and relaxed his huge floppy ears almost make him look like he's melting #neither of them have strong markings but the positioning of the gradients they have is very similar it's just different colors #Vasco has dark almond eyes (with what I can only describe as disney eyelashes)#his irises appear nearly black but if you shone a strong light directly on them they'd reveal a honey/amber hue #Machete's eyes are big and prominent with disproportionally small pupils #lately I've been drawing him with just the faintest salmon colored irises #but if the color scheme of the piece calls for it they can be depicted more vividly red #Machete has longer untameable fur here and there while Vasco is uniformly smooth and velvety #Machete is supposed to be the serious and inhibited half of the two but his face has a lot more expressive potential than Vasco's #it's actually kind of a struggle that I can't make Vasco emote with his ears at all those are typically a huge advantage in furry art #Vasco's body language is open and casual he takes up space confidently #Machete is usually very closed and defensive he has a habit of crossing his arms and legs and keeping his hands together and close to body #in general Vasco shouldn't be wearing anything black or red and Machete can't be seen wearing blue or gold #white is neutral territory it's usually the color of sleepwear and undershirts and as a result has a more intimate tone to it #answered #ardate

like since i'm already rambling dark will sulk but he doesn't mope. his sorrow isn't wet and soppy, it's not a well, it's a hole; a cavity he can't fill. his sorrow is barely even a sorrow, his emotional capacity without daisuke is just that fundamentally flat and hollow. there's a very fine line between someone who's capable of the catharsis of grieving, of feeling deep sorrow and expelling it (like daisuke is able to do) and then dark's circumstances, where he literally never does and cannot figure out how to cry. sometimes he sulks, he sits and thinks about nothing, he listens to the wind howl inside of him, but dark is soooo acutely cognizant of the fact that he's abnormal and that his body isn't actually his, (it's daisuke's) his 'life' isn't actually his, (it's the niwa's,) his entire existence is pinned dead center on the idea of being a phantom thief, and outside of it, he has and is nothing; he can't do what he wants, he can never get what he wants, his freedoms are so debilitatingly limited. 'things like having fun, laughing, are fine--- but sorrow i just can't get used to.' he's got zero coping strategies, how is Anybody supposed to cope when they're a walking black hole!!
