🌺Ever the confident and arrogant lady she is, you could say that Daki feels like she is entitled to own her darling which puts her into the case of the possessive Yandere. Mix that in with her controlling behavior and you get a rather unpleasant event unfolding in front of you. The demon demands all of her darling’s attention and affection and it should go unsaid that you only give her what she wants from you. Why would you give your attention anyone else, humans are utterly pathetic and weak, she’s above them and for that the best. Wants you to worship her like the goddess she wants you to see her as, her expectations for you are high and she is willing to force them on you as often as it is needed. If you don’t do as she wants you to do, you’re in dangers of being exposed to her rants and anger. Daki has some sort of twisted and adoring love, it doesn’t stop her from lashing out and throwing childish and bratty tantrums in front of you when you don’t do as she says though.

🌺Monopolizes all of her darling’s time to the point where she drags them to her workplace. She can’t stand the thought of her s/o being without her supervision, whether that is because she doesn’t trust them now and then or other people is up for discussion. You’ll be in either case with her and even the house owner doesn’t get a say in it, not without risking another of Daki’s feared fits of anger. It’s strictly forbidden to interact with you much, you’re isolated in a house full of people because all of them are terrified of Daki’s punishment if she catches someone doing as much as looking at you. The Oiran ends up forcing you to tell her everything about you, no matter how uncomfortable or private the information may be. It is her right and only she gets to know all of those things, you are forbidden to tell it anyone else. Daki is a very touchy person and you’ll soon get to notice that she literally seduces you all of the time with her experience as an Oiran. After her darling knows what she really is, she only seems to become worse in regards of all the above names traits because now you should really be aware of her superiority.

🌺Daki wouldn’t be a jealous type simply because she thinks too low and little of humans and because of her belief that she is better and stronger anyways. Once you are stuck with her in her human disguise all the time, every sane and insane person will automatically stay away because they know how the Oiran is. Sadistic and cruel to everyone who does as much as glancing at you and you get exposed to her punishing and tormenting everyone who takes your attention away from her and it might lead them to avoid others just as much for the sake of keeping them away from the menace that is known as Warabihime. If we’re talking about post-time kidnapping, her s/o never gets to interact with others since they’re stuck in one place with only her and Gyutaro around.

🌺Death is a dismissive thing for her, as a demon she doesn’t know it any other way than killing those in her way. Worst is that she gets rid of anyone who gets on her nerves even a little bit. Her Blood Demon Art is perfect when she is in her human disguise since it acts on her wishes and is able to sneak in spaces people with a normal body wouldn’t be able to fit in. She’s already known as a demise under other people since many people have committed suicide or fled because of her constant bullying. This tradition expands with you in the picture since she is even more sadistic to those who she caught with you. They’ll either get killed from her, end their own life to escape her torture or, if they’re deemed as pretty by her, they’ll get eaten whilst she mocks them and laughs at them for their stupidity.

🌺It is a fate sealed the moment she becomes aware of her growing interest in you, though she struggled through all seven stages of denial at first. A human is nothing more than a toy for her, finding out that you are more than that to her is something she can’t digest properly at first. Daki even tried to end your life, was unable to do so and so her brother was left to endure her crying and the fits she threw about how you were bullying her simply because you lit something inside of her. She’s delusional in her own entitled way. You have to make it up to her by adoring her and dedicate your life to her. Little minx, make up for her feelings by becoming her possession she’ll keep and treat well for all eternity. Away from all eyes where you can only worship and see her. It’ll happen soon, you’ll just wait. She expects you to quickly adjust to the new situation.

🌺You are being degraded to her favorite and precious doll of some sort. Her mania to control your entire life runs deeply, you’ll find yourself out in a position where she picks your clothes, what accessories you wear and what meals you’ll eat for the time you are still a human. It’s only a question of time before she’ll turn you into a demon since she wants to keep you with her for all of her life, secretly enjoys your human weakness for now though. Daki can be a very spoiling individual with the money she earns, though that only counts for the times you actually behave the way she wants you to behave in which case she suddenly becomes very joyful. Beware of her punishment though. She locks you away, doesn’t give you any way to eat, drink or clean yourself and litters your body with harsh bite marks. Her brother is tolerated next to you, even if Daki consumes most of your life for herself. She manipulates her darling on top of that if they blame her for killing people and being a monster, deflecting the guilt from her and accusing her s/o to be the one who didn’t behave.

Gyutaro

🟢He rests inside of his sister most of the time which is somehow funny and creepy to imagine since his sister becomes like this aware of his interest in you. When Daki sees you, she feels her brother suddenly becoming more active and reacting oddly intense and focused. It’s a nuisance to her, especially when her brother demands her to interrupt conversations between you and other people. He should do it himself, she has better things to do and so Gyutaro is left to do exactly that. He’s possessive as pretty much most demons are, though it’s born from different motives. Daki is used to getting what she wants and sees herself as better than others. Gyutaro knows that he looks bizarre and ugly in the eyes of a human and he has never gotten what he wanted. He has only his sister and even if he is irritated by his own feelings at first, as soon as he discovers that he is in love, he decides to never let go. And even if darling will call him a monster and view him as a hideous creature, if he slaughters everyone until only he is left they don’t have much of a choice but to accept him, don’t they?

🟢There is this brief period where he stalks his darling, begrudgingly admitting that they’re in a way rather cute, even if they’re also incredibly dumb and naive here and there. Gyutaro can’t mix in with the humans which is why he has to resort to Daki sooner than later. She refuses and both end up in an argument, in the end she ends up doing him the favor with lots of anger and mocking words being spewed out. She provides him with information Gyutaro is unable to retrieve himself and Gyutaro finds his obsession only growing because of it, he doesn’t understand it himself. The demon turns out to be interesting case of clingy and touchy himself once he has his s/o successfully in his grip. Affection is something he is not used to receive or give anyone besides his sister, his skills to interact with his darling need some serious practice and yet he seemingly can’t keep his hands away. Maybe because he thinks by forcing his affection on you, you’ll just stop resisting him or maybe because he finds himself enjoying it more than he would like to admit.

🟢Gyutaro is petty and jealous because he’s aware that he looks quite ugly and unnatural. Honestly, he finds himself envying his sister because she at least looks like a human, a beautiful one on top of that. In a way he really is just insecure about his looks because he suspects that it would be a little bit easier to have you adjust to him and the situation if he would look at least normal. There are humans who are good-looking and he loathes it when he sees you turning flustered or bashful when someone attractive gives you a compliment or smile, left to inflict self-harm on himself out of pure frustration. Aren’t you just incredibly superficial? Well, it doesn’t matter anyways. He’ll force you to accept him.

🟢I literally called him the removal type so there isn’t much to say. Every person he sees with his s/o is dead soon after by his own hands. Humans and their death have no meaning to him, he despises humans and that hatred only grows when his s/o becomes involved. You don’t have the right to cry though since it is your fault. Why do you have to be so difficult? Why do you have to be so eager to constantly annoy him by spending time with others? Are you mocking him on purpose or what? The problem is solved a bit when he abducts you since he can’t get mad over you spending time with others and smiling at them. You are still aware of the people he kills because differently than Daki he doesn’t intend to look pretty when with you, he comes sometimes back covered in blood and even eats his meals in front of you.

🟢It happens even quicker than with his sister because he doesn’t have the luxury to rely on his charms and looks. Gyutaro is aware of his ugly appearance all too much and is probably even paranoid whenever you are around handsome and attractive citizens. He tries to be gentle, can become annoyed very easily and you’ll most likely end up with a few scratches and a prominent goose egg on your head due to him not being able to regulate his strength. It’s such a spontaneous act as well and his sister was left flabbergasted when he told her what he did. She has to go along with him though, Gyutaro is stubborn and dense and even ready to threaten and scare his sister if she insults you.

🟢At his core, Gyutaro really just wants to be accepted by his darling. The way he expresses it is questionable though due to his creepy and disturbing behavior. Whenever you hurt yourself and bleed, he licks the blood and he seems to have a thing for sniffing you. His temper is not to be underestimated either and similar to Daki, he isn’t above spewing hurtful words and insults at you if you got on his nerves too much or scratched his self-confidence. He calls you stupid, dumb, weak and helpless and it might happen that he bruises you when he turns violent. Most of the time he disappears for a while to let off some steam before he can seriously harm you since he doesn’t want to damage you. Gyutaro is sadistic as well so he will have his pleasure when he resorts to the punishments where he sinks his teeth deep into your skin and leaves scars for a lifetime. He actually is sort of cautious when his darling starts being kind to him since he doesn’t believe it to be genuine and instead views it as a way to trick him, due to his sour personality darling needs a good amount of time before he would start to trust them.

Jane the Virgin Post-Series HCs

Because I just finished watching it and as much as I really was satisfied with the ending, I've got these characters on the brain and as much as they say that the last scandal was revealed, we all know they still have a lot to deal with. So these are just things that have got to happen after the credits roll

Jane eventually uses the new book money to buy a house for her and Raf and their family - with the white picket fence and everything, all the stability Jane didn't have growing up and all the love Raf didn't have

She wants to buy her Abuela a house too, but Alba refuses, she loves their house, full of memories and happiness. So, instead, Jane buys the place next door so they can expand

Rafael continues on as a real estate agent, likes the whole normal job, normal routine, normal life thing, but he wouldn't be Raf without a little ambition, and she wouldn't be Jane without encouraging him to follow his dreams, so, many years later, after more preparation, planning, and security, he does buy that lot and builds his hotel from scratch

Also, and though he is (finally) okay with his parents, there come the times he wonders about them, or misses the normal childhood he never had. In one of those times, he gets really into baking, and cooking, convinced it must be in the genes. He thinks he's great. He's not. Not at first, at least. But Jane doesn't have the heart to tell him. Eventually, though, he gets better at a few signature dishes. In another of those times, he decides to learn Italian. That one goes better, since at least no kitchens got burnt

Eventually, once the kids start growing up, and he starts missing the cute little early years (also, before he buys the land and gets swamped with a new business), Rafael changes his mind and he and Jane do adopt another child. They finally do the parenting thing together from the beginning, and Mateo is the most excited and tries-to-be-helpful-but-sometimes-makes-a-mess-in-an-adorable-way big brother ever.

Jane keeps writing, though she is largely busy with the massive success of her second book, which does, years later, get turned into a telenovela, which both Jane and Rogelio executive-produce

Xo and Ro live in New York while This Is Mars is filming, and Xiomara goes to school, dealing with the highs and lows of international fame in the superstar central of the world. They come back to Miami for parties, and holidays and vacations, and, eventually, when the series ends, move back for good.

Xo is a nurse, working hard and slowly falling in love with it, eventually studying to be an NP, because she's always looking for new heights and challanges. She doesn't lose her passion for singing and dancing, though, but slows it down, makes it more of a hobby

Rogelio starts taking smaller, but still spotlighted roles, and in a few years, retires to behind the scenes stuff, producing other shows, helping young stars, but, mainly, to spend time with his family

Petra and JR are back together and date, for a few years, just comfortable with each other and dealing with every new crisis one step at a time (including, but not limited to, Petra's crazy mother and long lost triplet). They do get married, and Petra plans the huge celebration down to the last detail, but in reality it's more of a formality, because they've been commited to each other and a family for years now.

Also, Petra does franchise the Marbella, and becomes a bonafide hotel mogul and entrepreneur, building basically an empire the twins will inherit and continue

(And her success does mean that the lifestyle book she and Jane had been writing that was benched is picked up once more, and they get to work together again)

Plus, some minor things:

Jane and Rafael and Michael (and Charlie) keep in touch and are actually in good terms. Finally, with no less drama, and everyone happy with their own families, they can be friends and support each other

Luisa stays clean and moves on from Rose, and becomes the cool/weird lesbian aunt for the kids she was always meant to be

And they all keep on dealing with dramas and complications (like Rose's network and bouquet of doppelgangers, Petra's family, maybe Xo's fragile health, Ro's literal dramas, Jane and Raf's risky, dream-following businesses, new kids and custody twists and turns with adopting ...) like a true telenovela, but they have the love and the heart to make it through it all together, as they always have, as a family.

Mylene Ferrow

While I like the idea of her being from a military family, I want to make her like Ling Wen (TGCF) in the sense she started from the bottom and climbed to the top... it fits her ambitious nature of grasping for more, she hasn’t reached what she considers the top just yet...

Ofc Volt and Lync are on the same level, but I think they all know when to give each other space so they’re more of a “we hold each other at a distance, but we’re aware of out closeness which is enough for us”

so you’ve been roleplaying for years... things change, the way the community does things shift, and sometimes there’s new skills you need to pick up and adjust to in order to make your time rping as creatively rich and fulfilling as it can be. one of those things that’s become extremely important is plotting & hcing. either in groups, in indie, or doing 1x1s, these two are the foundation to your interaction (unless you’re the type to wing it). sometimes when i interact with people, it seems they don’t really click with this process, so in the guide below, i’ll help to explain why these are so important, and how to do it in a way that not only gives you a rich plot, but helps inspire and keep your writing partner engaged with you.

disclaimer --- this is just my personal experience and opinions being shared. i am not the end-all-be-all on how to interact with writing partners. this is just here to get people to begin thinking about things they otherwise wouldn’t have thought about.

WHY IS PLOTTING & HCING SO IMPORTANT?

firstly, rp has changed a lot since the days of launching into an rp or writing a random starter for a new follower. things are a lot more established and regardless of if you’re in a bio/skeleton rp with pre-written connections, or you’re in a new plotless group or indie and you’re coming up with them on your own, it’s a major foundation to your writing experience, so don’t treat it lightly!

secondly, regardless of format, and with the shifts in rp culture, behind the scenes plotting & hcing is crucial to the development of your plot & characters. as writers, we take more time with our replies so development on dash happens a lot slower. personally i don’t mind that, but i don’t want that to hinder my writing experience so i like taking things behind the scenes to help build up dynamics and situations so the whole relationship isn’t based off one or two threads/instances.

lastly, it helps to keep things inspiring. sound dumb? you bet, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles baby. so many times i have plotted ships, sibling relationships, best friends, or other core relationships, and wanted to sink my teeth in relationship lore and background and dynamics, only to be returned with “hahah yes! i love that!” now i understand this is never ill-intentioned, but it does suck the muse right out the situation. if you do not validate & expand on your partner’s ideas, it’s not going to make that writer’s ideas feel appreciated or loved. the way to tell them you love their ideas? sink your teeth right back and send an equally meaty response right back!

PART ONE: SO YOU WANT TO PLOT

you don’t need this post to tell you how to come up with plot ideas, that’s a whole different guide, but let’s say you’re in the brainstorming process. you’re throwing ideas back and forth based on your muse’s two backgrounds and seeing what sticks. what is SUCH a downer, is when a writing partner is just ... not contributing. yes, we are all guilty of the line “i’m open to anything!” but try and limit yourself to using that line once in a conversation. hell, i prefer it when a person doesn’t even say it at all and they’re HONEST. if i come in guns-a-blazing and i ask ‘what plots do you need filled?’ if a person responds with ‘i need someone who hurt my muse’ there’s two option, i fill that plot, or i don’t. it’s that simple. don’t be afraid to say what you want, the worst that can happen is the person says ‘eh, i don’t really think that fits my character’ and you come up with something else! but when you’re already passionate about the idea, you’re setting yourself up for such great success!

so what do you do when your one (1) braincell isn’t working and you can’t come up with any connection ideas? two options, you can either go to one of the dozens of guides for basic connection ideas and give your partner something, or you can look at the other person’s bio, and your muse, and try and find connections between them. both of these are painfully easy! i’m a personal fan of the latter as it seems a bit more grounded and juicy than the former, but those can be twisted into something great too! **if you’re in a group setting, even asking what that person’s other connections are, and piggybacking off of that. these create super spicy connections. example: you find out muse a is muse b’s ex, and your muse, muse c, is best friends w muse b, so it’s safe to assume your muse c will probably not get along with muse a.

this important thing is not to make your partner feel like they’re doing all the work. because that’s never fun, and truthfully, it doesn’t make that person want to write with you if you’re not also putting in the elbow grease. plotting is fun, not a chore! make it a party!

PART TWO: NOW YOU HAVE TO BACK IT UP

you’ve got your plot now, congrats! and you’re so excited. but now you need that plot to be fleshed out a bit. there’s some history there so you’ve got to establish it. in comes the powerhouse--- my favorite part to this whole thing: HCING. it’s the most laid back, and in my opinion, creative part of the rping process. truthfully, i enjoy it more than threads because of the absolute insanity you can dig up. but i only love it if my partner can hand it back just as i can serve it.

maybe you’ve never quite thought that this part was that important, but i can assure you, if a person is giving you 3+ sentences about the dynamic of your characters, they’re trying to hc with you, and if you don’t enrich them, your dynamic is going to wither away.

i brought up an idea in the first part of this guide that’s extremely important to how you hc with your writing partner: VALIDATE & EXPAND. it’s the idea that no matter how much or how little your rp partner gives you in terms of an hc, you respond to it with a validation, which can range anywhere from ‘i LOVE that’ to as simple as a key smash and the pleading emotion, or even repeating a fraction of what they said to show you understand their vision. but then you have to back that up with expanding on that idea. hcs could be about a situation or about your writing partner’s character, so expand on how your character feels and reacts to things. it’s beyond discouraging when i write a whole idea out, explaining how my character feels in this emotionally intense setting, and my writing partner only gives me the validation portion, and now i have no idea how my opp’s character thinks, feels, or interacts.

see, a point i mentioned above is the fact that threads don’t work like they used to. and that’s fine! but hcing is an easy and fun way to make up for the fact that we take time with our threads now. if you’re rping to find rich, in-depth, satisfying dynamics, it’s going to take many many months to get your understanding of your opp’s muse, and the relationship they have, hcing fast tracks that process. i’m writing with you, i love your muse, give me the dirty details, i promise it’s not obnoxious. the more your give back, the more you will receive. so why wait around, sitting on our thumbs for me to fully get a grasp of your character’s voice, and your character’s thoughts, when we could do that on chat and have a grand time.

but now you’re thinking to yourself: okay, but how exactly do i validate and expand? and for that, we go to EXAMPLE-BOT 3000 !! not a real bot, unfortunately, but example bot has dug up a personal interaction i’ve had hcing. for context, this is a 1x1 writing partner i’ve had for years. we have an excellent dynamic and they are perfect. they have also given me permission to use our convos as example.

here is my message [ CONTEXT: this is a sandbox-star-wars-esque verse]

Okay but I had a thot in the shower,,, where the best thoughts are had. And what if,,, after this meeting and they part ways and such and it was just another weird occurrence in their lives, blastis gets a mission and it’s either to protecc salia or like guide salia across the galaxy to do something smth and save some lives or whatever. And ofc not because she couldn’t take care of herself but he has smth she doesn’t that gives an edge or just a close loved one of her’s didn’t want to see her get hurt. So you have these two traveling across the galaxy,,, sometimes arguing bc she can manage herself but he’s just fulfilling the mission. And them both kicking but. And all the steamy tension and cliches.

let’s break this message down before we get into the response. first, hcs don’t have to be formal. they are the most fun when they’re less together and don’t rely so much on “sounding good”. you’re just rolling off the top of your brain, chatting like you would with a friend, don’t worry too much on formalities because this isn’t the place for that.

i am also presenting my idea in a way that is confident, and with plenty of ideas to work on. i am involving my partner’s character but not godmodding. i am taking things i have learned from character introductions (like salia being independent and empowered, and wanting to do good/help others) and not disrespecting them, but having her take part in the plot. there are also small bits at the end of this idea that are little nuggets to build off of.

let’s look at my partner’s response.

AAAAH okay i love the idea!!! however shes a v. freelance kinda healer and doesnt really take official things. and she doesnt have loved ones that would know if there was danger - she can telepathically communicate with her own people but if she doesnt want them to know things they cant just. force their way in its a Closed Communication line not an open invitation into her thoughts asdfghjsh. But i could imagine that some guy or family hire her to find their children maybe who were lost on their adventure/mission with friends and the last message sounded like one was hurt,,, badly. and the other cant help for some reason. and they hire blastis to both protect her and later the people shes supposed to heal??

but anYWAY the Important part is ofc. the tension. and his big ass in her ship bc why would she?? take another if hers is right there. so hes gonna take that single bed and not complain. but ooof those two?? just kicking ass and being amazing. growing on each other more and more.

right off the bat is validation. and validation doesn’t have to be as direct as it is in this message. the validation is important here specifically, my partner showed they were interested and supportive of the idea i presented, but needed the plot to fit in their character’s story better. we see them making adjustments--- this is a collaborative experience so i alone shouldn’t be the one coming up with the plot, nor would i want my idea taken just as is. instead they mold it to fit what makes sense, getting more specific than my idea with a “mission purpose”. this is where the bouncing off of each other begins.

they then take the “bait” and start building on the tension our muses will experience (this is a ship afterall). while this is the beginning of our conversation, and there’s aren’t specific moments we’re working off of, this is setting the ground for future headcanons (see: the focus on sexual tension, living in a ship together, kicking butt), we are both mutually giving each other little tethers to take hold of. this is a very good start to begin working out the dynamic and situations these two characters are found in, with multiple different launch-off points.

CONCLUSION

there’s no right or wrong way to rp. even the tips listed here might not be applicable to your style, just having the idea in the back of your mind helps. the important thing is you and the person you’re writing with are having fun. you both are respecting each other’s time and ideas and creating a beautiful dynamic or world or relationship. this is a collaborative experience, and it’s important not to leave your partner feeling like they’re doing all the heavy lifting creatively.

Let’s talk about the 70s punk scene and HWS England

I sometimes feel that the fandom doesn’t give England’s love for punk/rock music much justice. Some authors usually write about this human AU in which Arthur wants to be a rockstar and some others plainly avoid the topic whatsoever. Which is a pity because I actually believe the whole character has a deep punk reference, specially regarding appearence (might expand on this in another post but basically, for me, England seems like some random bushy browed anime 70s punk guy who suddenly has to put on a suit and attend world meetings, which is both fascinating and hilarious).

So I thought maybe we could dive a bit into very general punk history and then I’d like to share with you some hc regarding England’s involvement with punk culture in general (if you just want to read the hcs just scroll down to the last paragraph with the bullet ponts).

My experience in punk stuff is actually that I’m kind of a metalhead lol. Metalheads and punks had and probably still have a deeply-rooted rivalry. However, punk influenced metal a lot, and metal also influenced punk. So I stumbled upon many punk facts while browsing about my favorite metal bands. 

Take this as historical hetalia... but counterculture historical hetalia :D (which is something we need more in the fandom, btw, I know military history is cool but its also cool how humans expressed themselves through art, fashion and music when they felt the pressure of authority and the frustration of society).

Historical context

Let’s return a bit in time and remember the 60s. The 60s were this blessed time in which people tried to defeat the establishment with peace and love. The hippie movement is from this decade and it influenced a lot on how people thought and behaved. In terms of counterculture, I must say this is a fascinating time in history (I recently discovered psychodelic science and its so incredible what was being talked back then).

Anyways, although a lot of young people were into this discourse of love and peace, some weren’t really that happy about it. In Europe, the post-war situation was sad and a lot of young people either were jobless or had the shittiest jobs you could imagine. Politics were also depressing. This was the origin not only for punk but also for other genres of heavy music, such as metal: People who didn’t want to be all happy and peaceful and had the need to express their frustration and anger, shouting about how society was fucked up. They needed an outlet.

Origins of punk

The origins of punk music are actually not quite clear. In fact, the US and the UK both claim that punk music was born in their country. Funnily enough, my country also claims to be the origin of punk (I’ll leave this mini-doc for you. Sadly, I don’t think this is a correct claim, mainly because their music was in spanish and I doubt that major punk bands took them as reference. Its a cool band tho).

I have to side with americans on this: The arguments for the american origins of punk are quite solid. The Ramones were the first actual punk band out there. They were active since 1974. Their music had all the elements of punk and, chronologically, they were the first ones performing this type of sound.

However, they didn’t have the aesthetic. That actually was a british invention. American punk had still leather jackets, jeans and sneakers. British punk? Well, remember all those ripped pants and shirts you commonly associate with punk? Yes, those were the Sex Pistols all along. They were the ones introducing the attitude and the style. The Pistols had some insane performances and a huge shock-value that can’t be found in early american punk. So you can safely say that your image of what a punk is is based mainly on the Pistols (also, for singing anti-authoritarian lyrics, they actually were managed by some dude who had a fashion shop. So yeah...).

Punk attitude or philosophy or whatever

The reason why I addressed the rockstar thing at the start of the post is because I find it curious. Punk is characterized by the whole Do It Yourself attitude and breaking with the establishment. Anarchism in punk is scandalizing people since there is no authority whatsoever. There wasn’t really any deep philosophy behind all of this, nor any political movement. Punk has nothing to do with a formal anarchist philosophy (which actually exists and has nothing to do with disorder). However, punk is characterized by the anti-establihsment lyrics. Remember, this is all about scandalizing people (which sometimes took great lengths). Presentations from british punk bands were also quite wild those days. They involved a lot of insults, spitting and, of course, pogo.

So, it is obvious that there is this deep concern about turning into a sellout, a pretty common fear in any underground scene. Authenticity was encouraged. Aspiring rockstars really didn’t have much mercy in the community so to speak, at least in this specific period. 

I would also like to add how punk had other aspects beside the music. For example, fanzines were pretty popular in the punk scene in the 70s and a great way to engage with what was going on with bands and music. I remember also this interview of this band in which they remembered how a very high guy decided to recite his poem while the band was playing. So, yeah, literature, illustration, fashion and other stuff were involved in the punk scene too.

British punk was also characterized by a very nihilistic attitude and a total disregard for previous influences. 1977, a song by The Clash, stated:

No Elvis, Beatles, or the Rolling Stones!

Now, for the important stuff: The music. Punk music is all about being simple. Punk musicians aren’t really known for their virtuosity in their instruments, something that actually inspired musicians from a lot of heavy bands later. In fact, the famous Sid Vicious from the Sex Pistols never could learn how to play the bass. So the band disconnected his instrument from the amplifier and he only had to pretend to play. The guy actually tried to learn how to play bass but music wasn’t exactly his talent. He had tons of punk attitude though, and that was the reason why his band didn’t kick him out. 

Vocals are usually shouted, the rythm is fast and the riffs are quite simple. In fact, there is this famous publication on a 1976 british fanzine that stated:

This is a chord

This is a third

Now form a band

HWS England and the 70s punk scene and onwards 

Thanks to his immortality, it is obvious that England had to experience the 70s in all their glory (what a lucky bastard). Was he there? Hell yes. As I explained before in some of my hc posts, nations represent the population more than their Government, so I really believe that England felt the frustration from that post-wwii decade and he probably also felt pissed about this. Working for the Government must have felt really frustrating during those years. 

In the past, he probably would have tried to take his ship and sail the seas or whatever, but that was not possible in the modern era. I guess that’s how he discovered punk. 

Now, rock existed in England before punk. I mean, the Beatles, duh. So Arthur wouldn’t have been completely ignorant about rock music in general. Contrary to popular belief I don’t imagine him being that much of a beatlemaniac though. Sure he likes them, but the music didn’t resonated with him as much. But boy, that first time he heard the Pink Fairies in 1971 (Yes, this was an actual band, a proto-punk band)? Yeah, he could relate more to that.

More detailed stuff here:

Pubs were crucial for the development of punk music. They were these spaces in which bands could play, a venue to discover new music. Yes, Arthur must have been a regular in a lot of these pubs.

Fanzines probably fascinated Arthur as an outlet for his own writings and silly drawings. He probably created a cringey pseudonym and collaborated with a lot of them. 

Its canon that England likes to critic american movies, and, taking from there, I think he’s the type of guy that has an opinion for everything. So I can imagine him also writing about what bands he enjoyed and what bands sucked.

Yeah, I can also see him being drunk and just reciting a poem while some rock band played behind.

With some ability, and a lil bit of tricks, Arthur could escape normal Government activities and perform with punk bands at nights. People were so into the music that he had no problem passing by.

Some cover art in CDs show Enlgland with a guitar and a bass (yes, not many people remember the bass cover art). So he probably plays both guitar and bass. He also probably plays the drums. Of course, he’s no virtuoso and he only knows the most basic stuff in those three instruments. I can see him being into songwriting tho.

Music equipment:

Guitar: Definetely a Telecaster

Bass: Fender P-bass and I can also see him having a Rickenbacker 4001

All these instruments are full with stickers. Punk instruments look really cool btw. (I wish my bass could look like those I see in certain punk bands)

England’s probably the kind of guy that doesn’t cut his strings at the head of his guitar.

He can actually play guitar/bass and sing at the same time.

England plays bass with a pick (what an asshole, we bassists know picks are not allowed)

Contrary to popular belief, I can see England appreciating good rock music from other countries and supporting them. He probably insists that punk music was born in the UK though.

1977: The Queen was going to celebrate her silver jubilee. And England had no problem with this. He really had none... but he HAD to be in that boat trip with the Sex Pistols. There’s no way he was going to miss that. He later had to explain his abscence that day to his Government officials (Btw, my hc for England’s relationship with his monarchy is “It’s complicated”. I can explain this later. Just remember that he was really pissed those days)

I can see Arthur in general being really involved with the scene. A lot of the stuff they were making actually matches with his canon interests and even personality. So he probably enjoyed those days and felt quite at home. I can even say that, for a long time, he hadn’t felt that kind of connection with his own people.

Although I can see England being attracted by the nihilism in the scene, I think his romanticism protects him from embracing it fully.

England had to live a double-life during this era. Not that it was new for him.

Arthur was pierced several times by some random, drunk teenagers. He doesn’t remember who tho. He was also drunk. Obviously his piercings close really fast, unless he has a permanent jewel in there.

I can actually see England expanding his music taste. Although punk is in his heart, it wouldn’t be strange for me that he’s overall a rock nerd and enjoys other genres, specially those with fast drum beats and heavy riffs. So I can see him having some metal favorites too, having a certain taste for prog rock and even digging into hardcore.

I’m still unsure if England would have been a massive Pistols fan as fanfics usually portray him. I mean, maybe? I would say he is definetely into acts such as the Pink Fairies (I mean, c’mon, its perfect). The Clash and the Damned probably also have a place in his heart.

After the punk scene dried out (the 80s weren’t that great for punk music although it was the birth of even heavier forms of music based on punk), England also was eager about the new genres flourishing during these times based on punk. Acts like folk punk might have had an appeal for him. He’s also fond of the punk-ish bands from the 90s like Green Day.

“Punk will never die!” shouted England while stage diving in some random small concert. He likes to support new bands these days.

The most fascinating thing, maybe in a more poetic sense, is that England’s immortality probably also helps him to keep up a punk spirit as much as his nationhood allows him, instead of aging poorly and angry like a lot of punk musicians... I mean, he aged poorly, but for other reasons lmao.

Hi. Kind of a sad/tired vent. I just found out that someone stole/semi-stole a headcanon from me. Obviously people can have the same headcanons, that's not an issue at all for me, and I'm usally very happy to discuss HCs with others and help inspire them. But this time I reblogged a post and mentioned in it that I headcanon Character X as being really into the things that were being discussed in the original post and that I've written a couple of drabbles about it, as well as mentioning some details about how exactly Character X "displays" this interest. An author that's much bigger than me in this particular fandom then reblogs it, saying that they agree with me, and I think nothing more of it. Fast-forward a few days and I'm told by someone else that said author has added this post about said headcanon to their masterlist. Again, I usually don't mind but I feel like maybe they could have written a drabble of their own or just spun off of my comment and added points of their own. As it is now, it seems like they're thinking my headcanon wasn't valid until it got their stamp of approval and that that makes it 'their' work too. Said author has ignored me completely since this exchange. I saw someone else ask them later on about whether or not they plan on writing something with this headcanon/if they've written something with it previously and they just said 'no' and again completely failed to mention that they're not the one who wrote what they are linking to. I don't know what to do about it.

Okay. First, I am very sorry that happened to you. I know how that feels. I wrote some HCs and there was someone who expanded on them without messaging me. While it was credited, it was one of those things where I was a little hurt that a message wasn't sent before to see if I was okay with it. (even if people consider me a 'bigger blog')

i need a place to organize my thoughts on thancred so i will be posting this on here! take it as a meta dump or headcanons of sort that’re definitely going to be implemented into my portrayal. this is gonna be a bit messy so excuse any jumping around!

ARR thancred and HW ( and on ) thancred are both two different characters. this is something i want to set as a precedent for the next few hcs, bc i’ve been thinking a lot about the way he presents himself in ARR vs the later expansions, and i’m going to try and explain why and how they’re different, per my own perception of course.

ARR thancred has a different speech pattern from HW thancred. it’s more flowery. it’s more poetic. each line of dialogue is diligently woven, pleasant to the ears, exactly the type of thing he’d want to make others hear. it’s disingenuous. it’s a mask. it’s all to obtain information or seek some sort of gratification in escapades or flings that serve as him utilizing his own charm/silver tongue to obtain what he needs. information for the scions’ advantage, or just for nothing more than that, sexual gratification, something i’ll talk about later. what’s important to note here is that, through all of ARR, thancred has been accepted as the flirty womanizer who hits on any woman near his vicinity ( for the purposes of my portrayal, this is strictly exclusive to any woman that is not a lalafell. 1.0 shows him doing exactly that and i refuse to integrate it into my writing ). examples of such poetic lines he has, especially with regards to women, can be found below:

naturally, HW thancred is different from all of this. whereas ARR thancred is far more charismatic, flirtatious, and poetic with every line, HW thancred is, for lack of better word, a lot more blunt. this specifically becomes more apparent after patch 3.1. his lines of dialogue don’t have that glimmer anymore, each rose colored word is gone and replaced by dialogue that has him being more straightforward and forsaking any previous notions that identified him as a flirtatious character. one could surely say, well it’s because he isn’t flirting with people anymore, and while that’s definitely a part of it, i like to think it’s more than just him not flirting with people anymore. it’s because minfilia’s gone. it’s because he failed. i’ll touch on this more later on this post, bc i just want to focus on here that he’s more blunt because of the fact he’s dealing with his own grief. he’s a lot more standoffish, he becomes distant and it becomes difficult to tell if he and ARR thancred were the same characters. they are, of course! but both act drastically different because one still had what he was intending to protect, whereas the other had failed in his duty.

with that being said, i do want to expand on this idea that ARR thancred, despite being different from HW thancred, still deals with his own guilt from robbing minfilia of her only family, her father. it’s something that has followed him for a very long time, something that creeps around his mind and he doesn’t want to think about it. this is further supported by ShB thancred imparting to you that he practically threw himself into his work to become every dunkard’s best friend for information. in ARR, he was dealing with that guilt by being a workaholic. he flirted with women at times, not just for information, but because he wanted a high that alcohol couldn’t grant him. that is to say, both working endlessly and having multiple flings is what allowed him to move forward. it was his unhealthy coping mechanisms, ones that distracted his thoughts from wandering towards his guilt. it’s far more subtle to tell when his mask has been so reinforced, one could easily believe there’s nothing but a charming man before your very eyes.

i want to embrace the tragedy of thancred’s character the most, since i feel like these parts make up for the type of character he is. a man from bitter beginnings that has suffered greatly, lost what he’s held dear, attempting to sort out that grief he holds to move forward. this is why i will be holding his past as a street urchin dear, as he truly came from nothing. he had no family at first, the very meaning of the word was alien to him, as both his parents passed away. louisoix and minfilia, i’d say, are the closest people thancred considers family. while i do believe it’s difficult for him to create emotional bonds with those outside of the scions, i do firmly hold the belief that thancred’s appreciation of the scions and his bonds with them greatly increases after the end of ARR. 

i emphasize this a lot in my threads; thancred, after being separated from the wol and the other scions, will come to greatly care for them and see them more as mere companions/work buddies. this is before he’s aware of minfilia’s fate, however. he intends to maintain some emotional distance from the others after discovering what happened to her. it’s hard for him to convey how he’s feeling. he’s severely distressed by his failure and it’s indubitably affected how he interacts with others. he will not easily open up about how he feels. he doesn’t feel comfortable. it’s difficult. it’s hard being that vulnerable when the one thing he promised himself he’d do right went horribly wrong. this is why i choose to portray him with this veneer that’re nothing more but the vestiges of ARR thancred: the faux smiles, the half-hearted poetry he spouts that may be aggravating to others, these little gestures that are reminiscent of who he was as you once knew him. that’s all a ruse he dons to reassure others that nothing is wrong, that he’s fine, even if he truly isn’t.

thancred, i believe, shifts his unhealthy coping mechanics a bit here. from this tragedy, he chooses to fixate on drinking, working, and fighting. 

no drink can truly numb how he feels permanently, but he would rather try and drink anything that can intoxicate him enough to forget the past for a moment. no matter how transient, a moment where he can experience that high is far better than drowning in his own thoughts. this is intrinsically tied with fighting.

fighting with others becomes customary for him, it’s likely to happen in any tavern he comes across. he always escapes before he can be found, but it serves no purpose than to seek that high; nevertheless, it’s integral to mention he will avoid picking fights with those he holds dear even in an intoxicated state. needless conflict with those he cherishes would only make him feel worse than he’s already feeling.

there is a fair reason he maintains a safe distance from them, which becomes especially evident with how much he pushes himself into his work after he loses minfilia. thancred does not rest a lot, you’re more likely to find him with heavy bags under his eye that’re begging him to go to sleep. he’ll insist he’s fine, even if you were to try and pry him away from it, he’d obstinately refuse out of sheer desire to keep working. even if it’s an unhealthy coping mechanism and he’s aware of it, it’s the only thing he can fathom to not think about each mistake he’s committed.

 this is not to say that thancred will be an exclusively tragic character that you’re meant to feel bad for at all times. he is a layered character that is more than just what’s deeply impacted him negatively. he still appreciates those moments where he can give a bonafide grin and simply joke around with someone, those moments that’re a nice respite from the chaotic reality he lives in. even if his life is messy as hell, he still wants to try and partake in any moment he could truly love. thancred may deem himself a failure in his own eyes, but he will continue to try and live each day to the fullest, to be content with himself and with the bonds he has. to protect what he does still have. even if it’s a thorny, difficult road that’s filled with hurt, loss, and regret, he’ll traverse through it if it means protecting what’s still here. what he still loves dearly.

Time to talk about Lillith :)

So her being MC's ancestor in the story was... A bad choice, in my opinion.

And I don't hate that she was the one who revived MC, quite the opposite, that was a fine move. I like to think that it was to show that MC had a connection to all the siblings, dead or alive, hate or love. It's just...

Why are they (technically) related? What was the purpose?

That could sound mean, but if some of your playbase could call incest and (possibly) have a leg to stand on, it's a bit... Much, let's say. But, either way, there is an alternative that I like. (And one I made up, but that's besides the point.)

I like the idea that Diavolo lied to the brothers to keep the peace. To me, it makes sense, because:

He needs to keep the peace between the three realms, and y'know, one of the humans dying kind of prevents that. So, why not lie to them to make sure this never happens again?

It would also get to a quick resolution for the brothers, since I'm pretty sure that Belph was about to kill MC... Again.

Sadly, I only have two reasons, but you're smart, you can probably expand upon this.

Anyway, this might be a bit sloppy, but I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say.

Lesson 42 Anon

(P.S. I have issues with Lesson 16, 17, and 18. I say this just in case I want to rant about it. :)

So initially I wasn't the biggest fan of them being related, though when they first started hinting at a connection between Lilith and MC I had a "OH GOD. OH DAMN. PLEASE DON'T BE LILITH'S REINCARNATION" moment so finding out MC was just a distant relative was a relief but not one I was necessarily happy with? Because of all the "Is this technically incest!?" feelings I had at the time.

But it did grow on me? I think all the human au's I had roaming free in my head helped me get over it? When writing or thinking up human Aus I try to make them as close to the Canon situation as possible so it'd be:

The brothers and Lilith all living in a foster home with only Lucifer and Satan being blood related, but they all see each other as a found family. MC would be a distant (and I mean distant enough it equals to the thousands of years that separate Canon MC and Lilith) cousin who they don't even find out is related to Lilith until much later (after Lilith either leaves and joins a more permanent family or....well dies I guess).

The way I see it, it'd be the same as a group of "we're so close we see each other as siblings" friends wanting to date the distant/estranged relative of one of the group members.

So yeah, now I see the whole Lilith, MC, brothers thing as "Incest if I'm willing to reach so far my arm tears straight outta my socket" so yeah.

Though obviously it's completely valid if people are still uncomfortable with it.

ANXUSJWMNZRATQVX8 Belphie would have totally murdered MC if they didn't bring up the whole Lilith thing! And I'm so upset they all just get over it? Like damn I love Belphie no lie, but are we just gonna gloss over the fact that he was 110% okay with the genocide of the entire human race???????

I also have this headcanon that MC has chronic pain that flares up on and off after Belphie murdered them, cause remember how the ghost of the fortune teller,Gisella (?), on the train said you never forget the feeling of dying and MC had a pretty violent death so.....

I also HC that there are days, specially when the pain is bad, where they can't stand to be near Belphie and that while he was initially upset by this and was persistent about still being with them by around mid S2 or S3 he's learnt to identify those days and understand why MC can't even look at him then and he makes himself scarce and sleeps away the day in an out of the way dark, corner probably with Beel around for emotional support because honestly those days would hurt him as much as MC.

I like that in the Canon storyline that none of the brothers were 100% okay with Belphie right after Lesson 16 and how they went out of their way, more so than usual, to make sure MC wasn't alone with him? I maybe reading into that too much but I liked it..

And I mean generally MC's a very calm, collected, headstrong and stubborn character so as frustrating as it is I understand why they would want to help Belphie get along with the others again. "I died for this shit, so I might as well see it through" kinda mentality

I didn't initially like the two timelines cause it made me really sad imagining the one MC left behind and to ease that angst I always imagined since MC changed the past their original timeline -the future timeline- got erased with a new future unfolding. but someone on tumblr posted a headcanon with evidence on why they thought Barbatos joined the two timelines together so that they live with the extra day of memories and experiences that came from the original timeline AND I JUMPED THE HELL ON THAT BOAT & actually recently wrote something about it. Um anyway that's all my thoughts on 16, 17 & 18 (I think. There might be more that I can't remember at the moment tbh) and since I rambled to you about it you are now contractually obligated to rant to me about yours. Sorry, those are the rules🤷🏽

About the thing you said about Diavolo and his reasons I honestly have nothing else to add, I mean the reasons you gave make total sense and I'm okay with just what the canon gave too so

Edit: I forgot! As to why they were related, yeah I don't think it was completely necessary but still I can see reasons behind it?

1. As a way to make MC other. A devilgram and a little line in S3 makes it seem like MC is neither angel, demon OR human. I HC that Lilith died right as she was changing from angel to demon making her one of a kind and that pure "Fallen Angel" magic came with her when she was reincarnated and then was passed down to MC.

2. How lilith's known as the mother of monsters in some myths and how MC is related to them... I just think it's neat. Plus MC has an insane amount of raw power - truly a monster in their own right

3. It's closure for the brothers. They never got to see Lililth as a human, never got to see her grow up, fall in love, start her own family. The last they saw her she was in pain and dying. They don't get to see if she was happy. MC's the closest proof they have to that. That she found love and had a family and was happy

4. It's closure for lilith. Just the fact that her spirit passed down from descendent to descendent along with her magic till she could see her brothers again just to see if they were happy and to tell them she had lived a long happy life. I don't know I'm really happy she was able to do that

5. The brothers find similarities between Lilith and MC but they're rare and 6 of the 7 brothers already liked MC before they found out about MC being her descendent. And even Belohie starts to like them as their own person. Just I always worry that they like MC just because of the connection between them and Lilith and that they see MC as a replacement but then U remember their Canon interactions and it feels like the brothers actually forget about that connection. MC is Lilith's legacy, they're living proof that you can be born in one world but find your true home in another, but they're not defined by Lilith. They're their own person. Even their magic is their own considering Lilith used the last of hers when she helped them in Lesson 15/16

Sexuality Headcannon: Bi (so are most trills in my opinion- but that's another post). Also gender hc= Nonbinary as hell.

Otp: None really? I think she should figure out herself a little more first. The only ship I don't super mind for her is Kira (in an AU sort of way), but again I feel like she needs to be away from DS9 and all of Jadzia's old friends for a bit before jumping into a relationship. Wait! Idea: Harry Kim. I will expand on this later.

Brotp: Her and Worf. Also AU where they didn't do that weird "Julian never got over his crush on Jadzia" story line, then I think she and Julian would have made good disaster bi buddies.

Notp: Along those lines Julian! I hated that nonsense. Not only does it feel weird for her, but it also just puts a sour note on Julian's and Jadzia's friendship in the later years, because it implies there was some latent attraction there when we all know they were mlm/ wlw solidarity.

First headcannon that pops into my mind: Okay, post canon she goes and completes her training at the academy. Then, when Voyager comes back from the delta quadrant, she becomes best friends with Harry Kim, bonding over all the weird shit they've gone through. Her and Harry then get posted somewhere together, her as counselor, him as possibly head of astrometrics, perhaps. They are friends, but maybe do a super cute friends to lovers thing. Mostly, I am just I'm just imagining conversations like:

Harry- "I play clarinet."

Ezri- "Oh! One of my former hosts was a musician.... and a murderer."

Harry- *nods sympathetically, not weirded out at all*

Favorite line from this character: "There's times when the computer asked me to identify myself, and I have to think about what to say."

One way I relate to this character: The entire time I was gender questioning she is just full mood. Even now when I have figured out my gender mostly, her figuring out who she is now and sorting through her identity is extremely relatable.

Thing that gives me secondhand embarrassment about this character: the entire scene where Garak insults her and she doesn't defend herself. Like Garak is very much being an assholes here, but his insults hurt and I just :/

In a city once known as Las Vegas, hundreds of years in the future, the Vega Metropolis has become far advanced from what the human mind an comprehend. With it’s seedy underbelly, and still bustling night & party life, it’s the perfect destination to indulge in your greatest sins, or to strike up the best illegal deal. There’s always the risk of traveling to the city, and never making it out. But those that live there, known how to make the place work in their favor.

OOC INFO: Lost in the Void is a cyberpunk verse, based off of fiction such as Neuromancer, Blade Runner, Altered Carbon, & other cyberpunk-genre material. Lost in the Void is meant to be a collaborative lore-building experience, where we establish history together, with potential to expand and write multiple characters in the same space. Prompts for plots can be found below.

One: An android works in Vega, working the floors of the casinos to serve drinks and be a service to customers. At some point, their paths cross with a human, who is fully captivated by the android with little autonomy over their own life, but still has a wild perspective. The two spiral as they learn more about one another.

Two: A singer is more than well versed with the underbelly of Vega, knowing who’s who and what’s what. A private investigator has been hired to travel down a rabbit hole of mystery to try and find someone important’s missing daughter, though much of their investigation leads back to the singer who knows far more than they should.

Three: The life is ideal when you’re at the top. There’s a crime boss who seems to run most of the show in Vega. But there’s a new cat in town, someone who is meant to work a lot with the boss, and they meet one another for the first time, then being introduced to their spouse. Things seem off at first, but after a few drinks, they explain their spouse is an android, acquired so they wouldn’t be forced to marry someone else. While there’s tension between the boss and this new face in town, they can’t help but be intruiged by the android roped into it, and how disinterested they are in everything.

Four: How do things work behind the scenes? There’s a programmer for most of the ads that blast all the ads across every inch of space in Vega. They don’t come out of their space very often, and they’re often paid to deal with the crime boss, shady people frequently coming in and out, but they always seem innocent, according to the kind neighbor across the hall who brings over dinner sometimes when they don’t see the programmer leave the apartment. It’s a quiet and simple bond that’s left the two growing close in their simiplicity, while everything around them is oversaturated.

Possibility for mumu: Those that work as a casino in Vega, differing crime circles, a blend of any of the plots above.

Aw those hcs are adorable! 

I like that green tea is such a staple for 1146 even cells who know him treat getting accepted by him like a pet owner does when their cat bring them a dead animal offering. At least he brings them tea instead of a dead germ. XD

I’m now being reminded of the S1 ending where Platelet sits on top of 3803’s cart. Only replace it with NC now. I can imagine all the weird looks they get when she’s carting around adult Normal Cell like he’s a child. Neither of them care. NC probably just gives off a smug ‘you wish a strong pretty girl would give you a ride on her cart all over the body’ (and he’s right. Some are jealous). But I also see Leader Platelet come running after them because she’s used to 3803 doing that for her too. Instead of making NC leave, Leader Chan plops gerself in his lap all three go on a adventure together (3803 is a disaster and curiosity magnet so eventually things could always get wild). 

It’s funny to think NC is in fact very protective of her. But because he’s a Normal Cell now he’s much weaker then her. She ends up acting more protective over him and carrying him around when he can’t walk. That or she gives him piggy back rides.  It probably takes him awhile to get used to this new reversal. But then he’s like 'eh she’s caring about me and that’s all that matters’. He definitely still acts very protective but he’s more of the nagging type like 5100. But he does it more grumpily. He’s actually bonded with 5100 when it comes to worrying about 3803 (which is pretty ironic). The only difference is he focuses more on how tough she is too and likes it when 3803 goes off the beaten path and does things a RBC isn’t known to do. Since 5100 thinks so little outside the box, NC also sasses her but she sasses right back and then they can squabble (in a non hostile way that never goes to the levels he and 1146 squabbles can) about how she thinks 3803 should just do as expected of her. While NC praises 3803 for doing more then what’s expected of her and even uses the time she called the Calvary on Cancer as an example (which is also ironic). 

Lol, 1146 takes awhile to figure out he’s not over senstive about NC acting affectionate with 3803 because of the past (at least post finally accepting NC in their lives by giving him tea). He’s just straight up jealous and territorial. He’d hate any guy kissing her on the cheek. 3803 doesn’t mind because she actually gets that NC is not doing this out of romance (he’s just as dumb if not dumber then 1146 when it comes to that). Granted she knows he has a crush. But he’s also still very affection starved and not very good at getting social norms. He’s trying his best though and these days wouldn’t dare do anything to upset her. After awhile she notices 1146’s sheer grumpiness and NC tells her he’s upset he’s too shy to kiss her cheeks too. 3803 being 3803 quickly tells 1146 what NC told her and she informs him 'of course  he can kiss her cheek too’. She waits for him to kiss her cheek but he just stands there frozen like all the life got sucked out of him. NC is trying not to laugh out loud. 3803 gets tired of waiting so - thinking it might help - she gives a quick kiss on the cheek to 1146. Then his clothes explodes off him as his face turns more red then her hair. Normally NC would get a little jealous but even he’s in a little awe by the reaction. 0_0

Normal Cell would cry tears of joy that NC managed to find two friends. That’s a lot more then he expected. He’d be such a busybody like that overly enthusiastic momma bear who’s so proud and invested in her child. NC would stop him from getting too excited over 3803 being his girlfriend because she’s not. Normal Cell also shows 1146 all of NC’s most embarrassing photos because he sees 1146 as a nice upstanding guy who is like NC’s best friend. 1146 is polite enough to leave before laughing his head off and subtly making fun of NC about it later. That’s the quickest way to get NC to behave once he realizes all the blackmail ammo 1146 has on him.

 Aw, I bet 1146 gives the best hugs to 3803. He just envelopes her into his big arms and she feels so safe and warm in them. Sometimes when he’s particularly happy or sentimental, he sweeps her off her feet for a tight hug while she laughs. 

I can imagine 1146 just has his iconic dour face when he’s carrying them and thinking he’s the only adult in this trio.

NC would make fun of 1146 for liking boring vanilla best. 1146 would defend his choice saying it’s vanilla Bean! Very different from ordinary vanilla. Then he’d point out lemon suits NC just fine because they’re both so sour to deal with. 

Aw NC trying his best to find a good dynamic with 1146 and 1146 leaving to cool off instead of exploding at him. They’d definitely have a ways to go and NC would be grateful deep down how patient and kind 1146 really is with him. The sass will always remain but NC is definitely forcing himself to learn how to not hurt others when previously that’s what his entire existence was about. NC probably cried once when he accidently made 1146 REALLY upset. Then 1146 ended up getting flustered and giving NC way more treats then he could consume in one sitting because those tears would stop coming. That’s their weird dynamic. 

NC will never stop treating 3803 like a queen. Making her happy is the one thing that eases his guilt a little. She definitely sees herself acting like a big sister for him and always accepting his gifts. She’ll pat him on the head and hope someday he’ll hate himself a little less for a life he hadn’t picked. Her forgiveness is the one thing that helps him sleep at night. 

As much as NC would never admit it, he doesn’t want to ever move out of Normal Cell’s apartment. He knows he’ll get lonely without his creator and sees him as a security blanket despite all his visible annoyances over said mentor’s clingy ways. He’ll probably treat Normal Cell’s next clone like that annoying younger sibling he never asked for and is his mortal enemy by birth (you know in a normal sibling way).

Hahaha, now I’m getting images of 1146 covered head to toe in blood while dragging around the mutilated remains of a bacterium for his friends. It’s somewhat adorable but also terrifying. 

That’s a great callback! I actually wanted to reference that time in 3803/NC’s relationship back in RBA (basically one of the first times they meet and 3803 saves Cancer by running for her life with Cancer hanging on for dear life in her cart). But the reference to the season one ending is also a great detail! And yes, Leader Platelet (and a few of the other platelets), also like to ride on 3803′s cart. 

(Sometimes, other RBCs will get their own platelets and they’ll go have races around the body). 

I am living for the friendship with NC and 5100. Although I’m pretty sure 5100 will never know the true story behind the kidnapping and NC’s true origins, they will surely bond over 3803. (But let’s face it, NC gets 3803 roped up in his shenanigans and it’s up to 5100, 4201, or 1146 to bail them out. And no. NC regrets nothing). 

Protective NC is best NC, even when he’s being a sassy little child when doing so.

1146′s CLOTHES EXPLODE??? HEHAHAHAHAH! 3803 is left mystified while Dendritic Cell swoops in for a few photos. 

(NC pays Dendritic Cell with a few humorous stories of 1146 in exchange for a few photos... to which Normal Cell promptly sticks into his budding scrapbook for NC).

1146 gives the best hugs. Sometimes, when he swoops 3803 in his arms, he sees NC looking off to the side, an angry blush on his cheeks. 1146 isn’t one to gloat, but that’s probably what he’s doing when he sees the look on NC’s face. 

(Don’t worry... some day down the line, 1146 hugs him... but they will never admit it).

NC probably cried once when he accidently made 1146 REALLY upset. Then 1146 ended up getting flustered and giving NC way more treats then he could consume in one sitting because those tears would stop coming. That’s their weird dynamic.

^^^ I won’t expand on it, because you worded it better than I ever could. You broke their relationship into their barest essentials. 

Oooohhhh, I love the image of 3803 patting him on the head. While NC isn’t that much taller than 3803, the height difference is still apparent. I can just imagine that whenever NC gets really down or especially guilty, he hunches over himself, becomes smaller, and bows his head (reminiscent of his first reincarnation as a child trying to hide from the big, bad immune cells). When 3803 sees this, she immediately goes into mother/big sister mode and starts patting his head and smoothing his locks. Maybe she even kisses him on the forehead/cheek (depending on how she’s still dealing with the trauma). 

After that, NC beams at her, but doesn’t sass or say anything. 

He’s content with what she has given him.

Hehehe, I bet Normal Cell has to explain that there are rules and regulations to this sort of thing. So, they compromise. NC and Normal Cell will live on the same floor of their apartment complex and NC gets to visit whenever he wants. 

(He totally comes over every day just to annoy his younger sibling).

Some traditional art I’ve been waiting to post for a while, I needed to scan and color correct it before posting it here. I made this around the start of september because I was stressed and needed something to distract myself, so I retreated into back the Arcana fanart hole.

This is something I've been thinking of doing for a while: showing how my MC looked before their death and before the start of the game in general, and my little extra HCs about them. 1- How they looked before they got ill, and while they were working on a cure for the plague, they worked relatively closely with Valdemar and were the only person to address them as doctor instead of quaestor, "that thing" or something of that nature. Valdemar never showed it, but they appreciated it a lot, because it was a way of aknowledging all their milleniums of studies and medical research, they ARE a doctor, but basically no one ever recogizes it; as such Shade was the one Valemar respected and interacted with the most. As for why they would harm Shade in any of the given routes since they seem to recognize the MC... just like the other couriers, they don't think they're the same person, considering they don't have any memories of them. I plan to expand on Shade's relationship with the courtiers later. 2- When they got sick they slowly stopped taking care of themself as the illness deabilitated them more and more, the hair became overgrown and a few white streaks appeared, either from the damage the plague itself was doing, or from stress. 3- When Asra brought them back it took quite a while to adjust, they didn't fix their hair quite away and would just tie them in a low ponytail, the white straks remained and a few black ones started to appear. On top of that, their ears became slightly more pointed, it was an almost unnoticeable change, but it became more pronounced as... 4- They kept trying different spells and hexes, when Asra wasn't around to check, and especially early on, they failed, a lot. This resulted in big claws, black fades, red eyes, even pointy-er ears and a short-ish tail, eventually they started improving and the incidents stopped, but the damage was done. The good news was that people that didn't know them very well didn't recognize them anymore (the neighbors that saw them slowly change still could, but others from around Vesuvia couldn't). This is where they are at the start of the game. The only thing I changed from their previous design was adding the white n brown streaks in the hair. So yeah, more lore! I don't have much to say for the 3 year gap aside from the already-canon stuff, so those sections are pretty barren. The part about the courtiers being hostile/harmful I had to add on after the latest Lucio chapter dropped yesterday (the sun), and because of his route in general being now my main. Both Valdemar and now Vlastomil show open hostility so I'll have to retcon and say that it takes a long time for Shade to somehow reconnect with them, especially Vlasty. But I'm not gonna ramble about it here, this post is for Shade's design after all. art and character by me, do not copy, trace, repost, reuse ecc without my permission please.

Miraculous AU Idea: Anti-Hero Queen Bee

I know I probably mentioned this earlier in my older post, but this idea is expanding upon something I briefly talked about and got the inspiration to write about

Those of you who follow my blog for a while now probably know that I don’t agree with the logic that Chloe would join Hawkmoth’s side in season 3. Aside from the fact it really doesn't make sense her to want to join him, considering all the times Hawkmoth has akumatized her and her family, it really doesn’t make sense for her to instantly join Hawkmoth considering her association with Ladybug and Chat Noir. Sure Chloe was angry at Ladybug for not giving her the Bee Miraculous, but logically Chloe being angry at Ladybug doesn’t mean she would instantly go full-on evil and try to kill them. 

So yeah, when it comes to the idea that Chloe would join Hawkmoth, I cross my arms at that. Chloe instantly becoming evil does not make sense, not from either a writing standpoint or a characterization standpoint...

...HOWEVER, I do believe in the fact that had Chloe been given the opportunity to take the Bee Miraculous and become a hero again, she would do so in a heartbeat. Whether it’s because you think she’s doing it for the fame, because jumping from building to building is exhilarating and cool, or just because Chloe wants to spend time with Pollen is mostly up to you. But for the sake of getting this idea after my head (even after Tumblr caused me to lose my data and rewrite this post again!) here’s how I would imagine this AU would turn out.

For the first part of Miracle Queen, everything remains as normal, LoveEater appears, Ladybug and Cat Noir stop the akuma, and Hawkmoth manages to get the Miracle Box.

Hawkmoth again approaches Chloe and offers her the Bee Miraculous, offering her power

Pollen tells Chloe to not do it

Chloe remains silent, looking at Pollen for a moment, but she takes the Bee Miraculous and transforms into Queen Bee

Hawkmoth grins evilly...

Only for Queen Bee to punch Hawkmoth in the nuts.

After telling Hawkmoth to ‘Go screw yourself old man!’ she leaps off the hotel to another building.

Hawkmoth is livid at being duped, but considering he’s on a timer to make his plan work, he instead decides to use Lila for his plan.

Lila becomes Miracle Queen, and the rest of the episode plays as normal. Chloe is nowhere to be seen

Hawkmoth is defeated, Marinette becomes the Guardian (regardless of my opinion that Marinette is neither ready nor capable), and season 3 ends.

Later on, Marinette discovers that the Bee Miraculous is missing. Worried at the fact that Hawkmoth took it, she attempts to find it. 

Ladybug stops by Chloe’s room to see if she by any chance had it. Chloe comes out, lacking a miraculous on her head, and feigns ignorance about having it or seeing it.

Once Ladybug leaves, Chloe goes back inside to find Pollen munching on some flower leaves. Chloe smiles and puts the Bee Miraculous back on.

So for season 4, Chloe would continue to keep the Bee Miraculous and be a hero in secret. Aside from Changing her costume design and Alias, Chloe would only work as a superhero at night-time when the heroes were asleep (and not patrolling). However, despite her attempts to remain hidden, it wouldn’t take long to catch Ladybug’s attention as her heroic actions continue, with reports of an anonymous hero’s actions making their way onto a few headlines.

The reason she is considered an anti-hero is that while she is still technically a hero and doing good stuff, the fact that Chloe is being a hero and wearing the Miraculous despite Ladybug’s desires means that Chloe is technically an enemy to the miraculous team, as Ladybug would be livid if she discovered Chloe was going against her rules.

Chloe obviously would not wear the miraculous outside of the hotel, but at the hotel she would spend a lot of time with Pollen, giving her sweet things and talking to her when she feels low.

Pollen at first was a bit miffed that Chloe made off with a miraculous, but considering she didn’t take Hawkmoth’s offer and even kicked him in the groin, its probably all ok anyways. Accepting the events that occurred as ‘destiny’ (HC that Pollen believes it’s fate that she met Chloe initially), she spends her time talking with Chloe, helping her as a mentor as well as teaching her to be a better person.

This doesn't mean Chloe becomes sweet and bubbly, but she does become more socially friendly and less rude to people, though expect a lot of sass from her.

As a hero, Queen Bee mainly deals with petty crooks and nighttime thieves. But as she keeps helping people, Chloe ends up stopping a Parisian crime gang dealing in drugs (while of course Ladybug and the others stop Hawkmoth) and even manages to stop a human trafficking ring. (mainly to make season 4 Chloe’s adventures more exciting and make her more of a hero.) Saving lives also helps to make Chloe kinder as a person.

However, Ladybug would eventually learn that Chloe still has the Bee Miraculous, leading to a heated argument between the two once Ladybug confronts Chloe and possibly a clash between Ladybug and Queen Bee (or Queen Bee and the Miraculous team depending on how you think the rest of the heroes would react) but I didn’t get too far on what would happen next.

However, I do expect Ladybug to just reach out and grab the Bee Miraculous like in Miracle Queen... only for Queen bee to grab her arm, smash her elbow into Ladybug’s chest and flip her over her shoulder like a badass.

Overall, this would probably be better for Chloe’s character than the season 3 finale or Season 4 would be for her

Also, this isn’t really important, but Zoe and her Lady Scarlet AU can kiss Queen Bee’s ass.

Long Night/Comrades

So, watching the Comrades walkthrough, and I don’t know if we get an official timeline, but the way the game has sunlight even in the later parts implies that either it took a lot longer to get to full dark, or the events of Comrades happened super fast.

I call bull on both, so out the window it goes. Instead the events of Comrades take place over the course of the entire Long Night. Couple reasons -

One, it takes TIME to get the power grid to encompass most of Lucis. Especially considering that they have limited manpower, and have to collect meteor shards AND hunt daemons AND hunt for food. So most of the meteor shards are going to be allocated for maintaining the CURRENT power grid instead of expanding beyond their reliable output. The last thing they want to do is expand and then have to cut the power to that location and strand the refugees there.

Two, when the Glaives go to Angelgard, Gentiana states that they need to protect the island from daemons so Noctis can awaken. I honestly don’t see the Astrals summoning the Glaive until right before Noctis wakes up, because they won’t want to risk the Glaives getting wiped out fighting daemons for years on end. So the Glaives are there for probably a few weeks, maybe a couple months. Unless the Glaives set up a rotation so they could protect Lestallum AND Angelgard, then they could probably stretch that to half a year or more.

Another couple things I’m going to quibble on-

Iris! Why is she only a shopkeeper? Like, I get they wanted to have as many familiar faces as possible, and at the beginning of the Long Night she’s only 15, but this girl is an AMICITIA. You cannot tell me she didn’t have combat training from a young age just like Gladio probably did. Even if she didn’t plan on having a military career, she still would need to know how to fight in case of assassins. And I highly doubt Iris would stay on the sidelines back in Lestallum when she could put that training to use in the field once she turned 18. (I hc that Cor put an age minimum on joining the Crownsguard, and the Hunters already had one, and it’s not like the Glaives could accept new recruits without an LC to gift magic.) So yeah, if Iris doesn’t join the Crownsguard, then she becomes a Hunter. (Which... might actually be canon now that I think about it. I’ll need to check.)

Having the Hunters essentially become auxiliary to the Crownsguard. I mean, I kinda get it? Consolidation of forces and all that to make organization and planning easier. At the same time, your Hunters are going to be the experts in terms of local terrain and wildlife. And honestly, adapting the duties of the Hunters, Crownsguard, and Glaives to better fit the situation seems like a better idea than simply changing EVERYONE’S duties. The Hunters are probably the most prolific, so they could take over food acquisitions and other Hunt-like tasks. Crownsguard would be best put for getting their hands on meteor shards (though honestly that’s probably a ‘you see it, grab it’ sort of thing) because while they wonder be as numerous, they are combat trained and can go out in smaller numbers without as much risk. And those not in the field would be relegated to protecting settlements. (Not peace-keeping, that’s the job of whatever civilian law enforcement survived the Fall.) And the Glaives would be best used to fight daemons and as attachments to Hunter or Crownsguard missions as extra insurance in case of daemons. Multi organization missions mixing Hunters, Crownsguard, and Glaives would be really versatile.

Chocobros. Ffs. You are telling me that Gladio, Ignis, and Prompto all buzzed off for ten years? Didn’t help Lestallum at all? Nope. Not buying it. I can see them taking mission after mission and rarely being IN Lestallum, but you cannot tell me that they weren’t actively contributing to Lestallum’s survival. Gladio and Prompto are IN the Crownsguard. They’d be taking missions just as any other Crownsguard member, and I highly doubt Cor would stand for them not pulling their weight. Ignis, I’m not sure. I don’t know if he’s actually part of the Crownsguard - he claims to be a ‘servant’ of the Crownsguard - and there is the fact that he’s pretty newly blind. But as he got over that handicap, Ignis would demand to be involved if only to feel useful.

I appreciate Comrades fixing the whole ‘Cor is captain of the Kingsglaive’ thing in the main game (one of the versions, anyway). Cor is likely in charge OF the Kingsglaive, like how Clarus was in charge of all of Lucis’ military forces when he still lived. But he wouldn’t be captain because he’s probably got his hands full managing his duties as Marshal. Though, with the way we rarely see Cor in Comrades and work with Monica, I could imagine that Monica is promoted to Marshal and Cor takes overall command of the Crownsguard AND Kingsglaive.

There’s also a number of world building questions I’ve got, but that’s for a different post.

1. Tell us about your WIP!

Oh god which one?????? Fic I’m currently get good writing in on and excited about is How to Quit You which is already posting but not finished. Buuuuut, I think I want to talk a hot second more about the dang Art Model AU that jumped me in a back alley. One of my friends has a story she’s writing/planning for a different fandom (Power Rangers: Jungle Fury!) and we were hashing through her idea that one of the characters was an art model back in college and he took his crush to an art gallery where a nude of him was hung up.  I liked it! And then weeks go back by, maybe months, and suddenly all I can think is, “How fucking hilarious would it be if Adora was an art model? Like, she’s not ashamed of her body or nudity, she’s not bothered by the process or images of her being put out into the art world.” and then the very next thought was, “We all like hc Catra as an artist in Modern AUs, oh my god she could be the disaster lesbian she is!”

And now I’m a few thousand words into it and Adora has started attending the drawing sessions when she’s not a model with a cheap drug store “art book” and her mechanical pencil she chewed to death. Because she’s fallen for the mean artist and wants to impress her she has a genuine interest in learning how to draw even if everything she puts on paper looks like a misshapen potato.

I’m going to force them to ride in the car while Animotion’s Obsession plays on the radio and they both break out into a sweat.

(Warning for that song, it’s one of those “oh this is so catchy, but I can’t hear lyrics when listening to new songs” and then I looked it up and it’s a bit date rapey. Like, why do so many 80′s tunes I like end up really skeevey?)

33. What’s your revision/rewriting process like?

I would hesitate to say I even have an actual process for revisions and rewrites. Basically, every time I open my doc to work I always go back to the start of the chapter I’m working on and re-read until I hit where I need to write.

This gets me in the right head space for the fic, helps me remember what the characters are doing/plot, and nail down the same tone in my writing.

But it also means that every time I write I do a bit of editing before hand. Heck, if I need to re-read an older chapter or skip ahead to a later one to double check consistency I’ll do some editing /while/ I’m writing as well.

Because I tend to look at one fic then a different one then a different one, with no consistent schedule it ends up being the great advice of write it and walk away. Come back a day or two later and look at it again because you’ll see more errors that way.

I think this isn’t the best system for most people. A lot of folks need some separation between writing and editing so that they don’t hamstring themselves via perfectionism. I’ve been learning over the last year that I’m, in fact, not a fat lazy bastard like I’ve always thought I was. I am, in fact, a fat overachieving hype-man. Which is wild! So I know I fall into that trap sometimes too.

Great example is Chapter 18 of how to quit you, I wrote the chapter, edited that for about two or three months, then realized it was really not good and deleted it to start over, edited that for a few weeks and realized it’s still not right. So I might need to delete it again but I’m going to try and fix it via smaller section re-writes and adjusting what I thought I wanted plot wise. But what chapter isn’t finished and is next to be posted? Chapter 11. Fucking, god damn it all. Almost every chapter from 11-14 has been heavily ignored despite needing to be in the story and being good I just can’t get my brain to work. So instead I get stuck editing and editing and editing and not WRITING.

On the other hand, I tend to bulldog it and then when I do ask people to edit/beta read there’s not as much obvious stuff that they have to slog through since I’ve caught most of my common spelling mistakes (-ign instead of -ing will kill me some day), tense mistakes, and consistency errors.

I like doing it this way, and while it can get it the way it normally helps. But again...it’s not exactly planned out. I just launch into a fic and go “cool I wanna write something for this fic” and I’m not a chronological writer so god speed little dude.

48. Do you prefer to write skimpy drafts and flesh them out later, or write too much and cut it back?

I mean, kinda like I talked about above I tend to edit and polish parts of my draft while still actively writing other parts of it. Like, with the same chapter and across the whole fic.

I honestly fall into both categories because I’m somewhat of a blend of them. I lean more towards expanding on what I’ve already written but I don’t tend to write super skimpy drafts that need actual fleshing out.

I do love [I DON’T KNOW WHAT HAPPENS BUT TRANSITIONS ARE MAGIC] for areas I have a vague idea about, but there’s usually fully fleshed out scenes on either side of it. It’s just when I’m doing the editing to write thing that I’ll sometimes go, “Oh, wait, this would be much more impactful if I expanded a bit more.” So a one off line about Obi-Wan realizing that Palpatine ordered Maul to kill Qui Gon and is trying to corrupt Anakin, became a third of a chapter that I felt was really well rounded already both before and after that moment. Or a short paragraph about Glimmer and Catra riding back into work devolved into them teasing one another and got some good descriptions in (I’m so bad at describing physical things in stories, so that one line about Catra’s cheeks looking like hibiscus from her blushing was fucking god tier for me), and all the sudden I didn’t just have a short transition area, I had a full blown scene. (Thank you again dontcallmebugaboo for listening to me ramble about how the transition sucked and I didn’t know what I wanted to do, and you just said “romantic horse ride” and the clouds fucking parted, ilu) The most COMMON version of this is when Characters Suddenly Take Over and completely derail my story. Because then as I look around I go, “Hey yeah that could work, but I need a chapter about A and then need to seed in more references to B before I can expand on C.”  

So idk is the short answer lol. I tend to write things out as I go along and every so often I get jumped in a dark alleyway.
