NO YOU GET IT YOU GET IT SO HARD MAN LIKE . chandrelles a bit of a bitch she has a tendency to only think ab herself but like god forbid women be complex 🤬 /lh
AND CARLA FR UR SO RIGHT
YES EXACTLY like Chandrelle sucks as a person i will happily admit that but also I would suck as a person too if I was used as a pawn every day of my life, escaped it, was used as a pawn again, escaped it, and then got a literal demon in my head as punishment for not wanting to be a slave to a system. Chandrelle does show some degree of guilt (tries to apologize to Lazarus before he interrupts her, rightfully so she fucked him up big time, but also she made an attempt + clearly was surprised there were such bad consequences but then also later states that the pair knew there’d be consequences) but Chandrelle is literally either seen as scum of the Earth for what she did (which on one hand fair, she did commit literal genocide, but also…the direct casualties were npcs. Npcs that get mass produced, at that. And also the priest + town girl but they exist solely to serve Chandrelle’s story and dont really have proper personalities outside of her story) or just. One half of Stormbleeze. Like i love Stormbleeze dont get me wrong, i made an animatic about them, but I don’t realistically see Chandrelle and Lazarus just. Instantly making up. Can they *eventually* make up? Sure. But anything they do have post game is never gonna be what it used to be before Chandrelle destroyed SoL. They’re different people than who they were back then and theres always gonna be that tension of the past between them. Also guys please let me see Chandrelle interact with people besides Lazarus i beg of you I will accept Bryce whom she canonically gets along with enough to willingly sit with him during the game. I hate it when women (or anyone in general) get reduced to either evil supreme for being complex characters or one half of a ship. Im not a huge LN fan but my gf is and it’s giving Six’s fandom treatment
And god Carla is so ignored AND FOR WHAT?? I get she hardly has screen time but like. So does Rebecha and everyone latches onto her (/lh i love becha too). I get we dont get a canon design for her or much outside of Sado and Lionel, but its like. Shes a morally ambiguous character too who was willing to make a dangerous virus clown to haunt her ex friend as a revenge plot but she also follows through on her promise with him following his death, even if he cant hold her to that promise from beyond the grave. Im begging yall to actually look at antagonists outside of Sado and Irving im begging and pleading. I could also go into detail abt Reggie but this post is abt women so I’ll save that for another day
#the hex#im not a coward (i am) i will maintag this#im just so. as an ex dangan fan (/neg) im so sick of how women are treated in fandom spaces#also yknow its bad when i compare fandom actions to dangan fans#i could also get into the inscryption characters but again. this is a hex post and 3 out of 4 of the antagonists are men so i shall not rn#maybe in a separate post i will get into all of dmg’s villains#its like. ive also seen people try to make sado complex. i love it but also its like. we have complex characters right there. guys cmon#as time goes on and i get better with literary analysis and narrative decisions im definitely getting better with noticing the complexities#+ and knowing when there just. arent complexities to be seen#anyways long story short can we actually acknowledge Chandrelle’s character outside of ‘hooh woman bad’ or lazarus. please. for 5 seconds#scov.txt#chandrelle stormblaze#carla dosa

when I was watching TFP for the first time and got to Wheeljack's first episode, specifically when Arcee asks "hey Bulk, is that your boyfriend?" and Bulkhead doesn't deny it, in my head I was immediately like "oh, obviously the entire fandom ships those two."
like, there was no doubt in my mind that Bulkhead/Wheeljack is obviously the biggest ship in the fandom, how could they not be?
and then I kept watching, and Loose Cannons rolled around, and we literally got an "I love you" from Bulkhead, and like.
ok. Straight men should be able to say I love you to eachother without it being seen as gay. The platonic reading of these two is completely valid, and even if there's nothing romantic between them, it's still really commendable that this show was willing to let a man platonically say I love you to another man in 2011.
But also AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA THEY'RE MARRIED YOUR HONOR.
So, the moment I finished the show and could safely browse the tag on Tumblr, I dove straight in expecting to see these two everywhere, but on my first dive in the maintag, I barely found anything. I was mostly in Knockout mode so I didn't really think too much about it at the time, but then a couple days later I tried out the tfp Wheeljack tag.
and I was like, huh, that's weird. Not seeing very much Bulkhead here. Like, I already knew I'd see a lot of him and Ratchet, they were fun in their little episode, and they have that cross-continuity appeal. Nothing wrong there. Ratchet can be his side hoe, I'm okay with that arrangement.
But then I realized I was seeing more of him with Ultra Magnus than with Bulk, and like. Part of it is that I still just hate Ultra Magnus, so I won't really get into it, but like. Some beefs can not be solved by fucking.
Whatever, so Bulkjack isn't the biggest top Wheeljack ship. I'm okay with that. Imma just go on the ship tag and have my fun there.
A few minutes in, I realized I'd already gotten 2-3 years deep in the tag. Huh, that's odd, I haven't been scrolling that long, why is it already 2021? Then I hit 2020... Then I hit 2019... and then 30 seconds after hitting 2019 I hit the bottom of the tag.
Nobody posted about this ship until 2015. Between then and 2020, there were only ten posts in the tag.
So I'm immediately like how is this a rarepair and then I remember oh yeah. Bulkhead is fat and played by a black guy. Of course the fandom only started caring about him yesterday.
All this to say... idek actually, I just like my wrecker husbands and need everyone to catch on to these two.
NAHHHHHH BECAUSE I'M RIGHT THERE WITH YOU
like i knew wheelratch was gonna be a popular ship, i saw it in the ao3 tags while hunting for starop, but when arcee asked bulkhead, "so who's the boyfriend?" and bulkhead didn't even deny it?? yeah, i deadass expected everyone to ship the fuck out of these two.
AND I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE HE DROPPED AN I LOVE YOU IN LOOSE CANNONS... blame that on me watching transformers while on the treadmill and not paying attention lmao, but i went back to see and YEP. "sorry, jackie, it's because i love you" like WHAT??
so we've got bulkhead not denying that wheeljack's his boyfriend, bulkhead dropping an i love you, these two calling each other nicknames ("bulk" and "jackie"), whatever the hell this was
so i was honestly expecting the bulkjack tag on here to be much bigger than it was. but i had the same experience as you! i somehow managed to reach the bottom of the damn tag! i haven't even reached that with starop, and that's a rarepair, too! the fact that there's more content for ultra magnus x wheeljack... for shame!
yeah, i agree, these two need to have a lot more fanart, fanfiction, headcanons, they deserve more love! it's honestly shocking that there isn't more for them, because i've seen transformers fans ship for less.
and yeah, you're probably right about why people don't ship them as much. part of me wants to think that it's because bulkjack is relatively new in terms of transformers ships, but tfp released fifteen years ago. that's not an excuse anymore. as much as i hate to consider it, yeah. it wouldn't be surprising if bulkhead was less popular in the shipping department because he's both 1.) fat and 2.) played by a black man. he's not a skinny twink or a stereotypical bodybuilder the way ultra magnus is built. i'm not gonna sit here and say that everyone who ships wheeljack with someone other than bulkhead is doing it out of racism/fatphobia because hey, preferences are preferences, but... it wouldn't shock me if that's the reason for some people. i'll put it that way.
#anyways i've made my stance on bulkhead very clear#and that stance is i think he's sexy as hell and the one human design for him i rbed a while back is my ideal. man#wheeljack deserves someone big to cuddle with just saying#transformers#bulkhead#wheeljack#transformers prime#tfp bulkhead#tfp wheeljack#bulkjack#maccadam#answering things

Communication skills are not my best thing too, and I definitely get over the board sometimes. My biggest problem is bouncing from topic to topic and not having a clear segment to flow into another thought, so I hope you give me a spec of doubt, if something sounds out of nowhere.
The most important thing that I implied, but might have not worded, so you missed it. Is you maintagging: 1) anyone who is a more relaxed fan will think there is some drama, or just get a sour feeling over being called fake fans. They're the people I meant, when I said to create a safe space, not trolls. Most CC's are very welcoming of the people who aren't as crazy in the fandom, as you and I. But your actions constuct an idea of some toxic Scott or Joel fans. 2) You are bringing attention to hate. As in to create your a post about something hateful, you have to repeat all the unfavorable things said. It's like coming into CC's chat and saying "It's so horrible that everyone hates you and says these mean things about you". Even if you will add that you support them, the hateful comments that you repeat will stick to them, as before they might have not seen them. (This example is not exact, but Scott is on Tumblr and if you maintag, he could see it) 3) You just said that the person is convinced they're right, and that you're stubborn. The three people that will see this post are people who like, indifferent or hate Scott, and by your own words the post won't do anything. Internet fight are most often just talking to a wall. Even me saying all of this won't change anything about what you think, this is just an english workout for me, so thank you for humoring me.
I get that people are homophobic, you don't have to say this every single paragraph. I am queer, as many other people on Tumblr and in MCYT fandom in general. Gem got a lot of hate in Secret Life for being a bi woman. If I take a moment out of her stream and give that line to her character, if I analyze it on my own blog, see how her character interacts with other people. Will you say that I'm a biphobic misogynist? If I just simply didn't like her character arc or actions and critizied them in a manner of looking at life series as a story? You're trying to connect outright homophobic people to people who are invested in the fandom to the point of spending hours thinking and analyzing characters.
And why is analyzing CC's bad? The CC's know that they're playing characters and these characters aren't words in a book. Every individual CC approaches their character differently, they're all storytellers, and thinking about how the actions CC choose affect their character is extremely interesting. If we wanted to read a book, we would have, but Life Series and similar concepts are a completely unique thing, which is somewhat comparable to dnd.
To add. Being critical of CC's is okay. They are not a god. People thinking that them being mean to each other is real and not a roleplay is the same as trying to be a knight in shining armor for them, it's all parasocial. They have flaws and we're allowed to look into them, being a content creator comes with that as well as a certain power (By power I mean CCs can send mobs of people to bully one person, sometimes not even intentionally, and other things I'm too lazy to go into). We should not dismiss someone's behavior, if they are gay or a woman or neurogivergent, but it feels like you are unintentionally promoting this thinking that gay people can't be bad. And I think Scott is a good person, who made some mistakes as any person can do (I'm not implying or saying any particular things, mistakes are a thing that everyone does). But you don't actually know him or any CCs. With the most recent example in this community, it's impossible to know if someone is shitty. Being that fixated on protecting a person only to realize that they aren't the perfect human being is painful. I'm just advising for you to take a step back from investing yourself too much into a CCs life. (I'm saying this as a person who can be quite parasocial, which I am working on).
I do not wish any harm on you or others, I am not threatening or trying to make mean comments. I'm just putting my net zero into this conversation, as a common internet dweller.
Hi! Your ask was not destroyed at all. Tumblr delivered it just fine!
Addressing your first point, I understand that being called a fake fan can feel rough, but I genuinely cannot imagine criticizing someone who is close to someone you care about for being cruel to the person you care about if the person you're criticizing didn't do anything cruel, especially if you're taking a mutual moment of teasing between friends out of context and targeting one person for a harmless act that both people committed.
I am bringing attention to hate. I don't think anyone should do it all of the time, but I still think that it's important, especially if the hate was unintentionally awful, to address when people are being really awful to one person who hasn't done anything out of the ordinary. The post has been tagged with discourse. If someone does not want to see fandom critical posts, they can filter out the tag. If you disagree with my approach to dealing with hate, that's perfectly valid and I respect that.
Scott, unfortunately, already knows about the hate. He has replied to some of the posts himself, and he has acted on some posts himself.
My post has done something. Not necessarily done something life changing, but I did see that it brought comfort to some people. It's fine if I argue with a wall, but I looked at the points that the other person was making, decided what I agreed with, and made changes and apologies accordingly. When I was not met with similar respect and the other person instead moved the topic to be critical of me and refusing to respond when I inquired about what I felt they did wrong, that's when I became a wall too. When the points that I made were dismissed in favor of an argument that drifted from the problem and the reasoning that I felt was justified - and it's fine if other's disagree, but, again, that doesn't mean I'm changing anything - that's when I stopped taking the conversation too seriously.
Gem getting hate for being bi is different from Gem getting hate for a specific thing she did unless the thing is something that most if not all of the other players did. If someone picked Scott apart for something that was specific for Scott, I wouldn't be so disturbed by it. The problem is when people try to tear Scott apart for things that everyone else or at least many other people on the server have also done and have never received half as much backlash - if any- for. For example, if you were upset with Gem because she teases Jimmy, but you think it's fine or even hilarious when Grian, Martyn, Scott, Joel, fWhip, etc. do it, then it would come off as biphobia or misogyny because the other people, all men who aren't bi, aren't being treated with the same seriousness despite having done the same thing. If you were mad at Gem for teasing Jimmy, but you were equally upset with other people for teasing Jimmy, then that's a different situation where no one is being targeted. If you were mad at Gem for, I don't know, screaming at someone (This is a hypothetical. She did not seriously scream at anyone), then that would also be different because that would be unique to Gem. If you were to be misogynistic or biphobic in your criticism of her for something unique to her, then that would only be able to be observed in specific relevant points in your criticism as opposed to who you were critical of, seeing as there would be no one else to be critical of to compare your reaction to. However, the Scott situation is not at all unique to Scott; Scott is being scrutinized for things that many other people - all straight that I can think of, but please do correct me if I'm forgetting something - have also done and are not being nearly as disliked for. That's why it feels like the argument that Scott is awful tends to come from a place of homophobia.
As for deciding a line is for a character, if you respect that everyone else who did or said something similar for the same reasons and in the same context are equally guilty, then that's fine. If you are taking something that someone said and criticizing it, but you are not criticizing everyone else who did or said something similar in the same context, then saying that you were referring to the character isn't relevant to the discrimination between that CC/character and other CCs/characters who have done the same thing and are not being criticized.
The reason why I feel that homophobia is linked to a lot of Scott criticism that could be used against almost every other creator but often isn't is because a lot of people are specifically accusing Scott of being "manipulative" and "toxic", which are harmful queer stereotypes that Scott doesn't fit into the box of as far as we know. He may fit a lot of gay man stereotypes, but that doesn't mean that people should lump him in with harmful stereotypes that he doesn't actually fall under. We don't have a reason to believe that Scott has some evil ulterior motive to being friendly.
Analyzing a CC is... iffy. That's a real person. Most people are pretty uncomfortable being analyzed, especially if you are analyzing them for something they did while playing a character in a silly game with their friends (cough the Martyn situation cough). Of course, it's more than okay to recognize and appreciate the good things that someone does, but it's really none of the audience's business to scrutinize someone for something they said playfully to a friend who they have a long standing close relationship to and who hasn't shown signs of feeling hurt or disrespected. The main problem with the argument I was in was the inequality between how Joel was being treated and how Scott was being treated. I also think that it's important to be able to differentiate between when a CC is making a decision based on the rules of the game and the lore of their character and when a CC is just having a laugh with their friends. Not every CC cares so much about characters and lore. There's a big difference between when someone is playing an aggressive character and when someone is just being themselves in a competitive environment.
Being critical of CCs is okay. Accusing CCs of things they haven't done is not okay. You could ruin an innocent person's livelihood. I wouldn't defend Scott if I feel like he genuinely did something awful. It just kills me to see people accusing him of things or arguing that Scott is crueler than other Life Series players who have all done or said much of the same things that Scott is being scrutinized for and yet they are treated normally, as they all, including Scott, should be. If someone feels like Scott teasing his friends is a flaw, then they should also address when his friends tease each other in ways that are equally or even more (playfully) mean. I don't feel as if that is fair to the CCs, seeing as it is their relationships alone and their responsibility to handle when they are uncomfortable with something that their friend(s) said and they have proven that they will handle that discomfort with maturity and efficiency and therefore it's not our job to accuse them of being cruel to each other, but at least that way doesn't target just one person or just certain people.
It's not that I think that gay people can't be bad. I think that this one gay person didn't do what he's being accused of doing and that, if someone is going to accuse him, then they should at least acknowledge the equally guilty other parties, who were straight. It may have been complete coincidence, but it seems strange to me to accuse a gay person of being horrible while defending a straight person who is equally guilty, hence why it came off as homophobia to me. I would like to note that I have used the word "guilty" pretty often, but I do not feel like any actual guilt should be involved. The thing that everyone involved is "guilty" of is a lighthearted thing. I only mean that everyone did the same thing.
If Scott had seriously done something wrong, obviously I would not defend him. However, it does frustrate me when people accuse him of things that haven't happened or at least that we have no reason to believe has happened. For example, I wouldn't defend someone who burned down a house if someone accused them of burning down a house. I would defend someone who burned down a house if someone accused them of slashing someone's tires, which they did not do. If Scott did something terrible that was completely unrelated to the accusations that I've argued against, then I wouldn't really feel guilty. I would be very sad, of course, because I find him to be a great creator, and I would hold him accountable for whatever he did do, but that doesn't mean that he should be accused of things he didn't do, similar to how the Hermits did have to clear up some assumptions about what happened recently before more information was released. I don't think Scott's perfect. I do think he's being treated unfairly.
Thank you for being so thorough about your thoughts! That was very helpful in understanding how to appropriately answer you. Additionally, thank you for being understanding about the tardiness of this response. I was going through a life transition that wasn't going very smoothly, and this was a VERY long ask (which is not at all a burden! I invite long asks!) that I wanted to be very thoughtful in response to. I hope that I didn't miss anything and made some sense, and I hope that you're well!
#discourse#fish asks#this will be the last i say on this#btw#just cause it’s so last year#kidding but fr i’m not spending much more energy on this conversation

Ace Attorney fandom and they were like "if u dont fall into the groupthink about xyz headcanons u get SHUNNED from the community and OSTRACIZED and HARASSED" and im just sitting here like. what the fuck are yall talking about. like man ive been watching fandom shit for YEARS at this point and i've only seen that happen once and it was cuz someone was vagueposting about popular creators and maintagging it. like girl u cant maintag ur vagueposts i feel like thats obvious.
they also stated that they believe modern ace attorney fandom is comprised of a lot of people who have never played/read the games. which. what the fuck are u talking abt???? i feel like this is 100% a case of like. this creator getting in a fight with like 3 people and projecting it onto everyone else.
im like. gobsmacked. esp because a lot of the shit they are going like "these are the popular beliefs that AREN'T CANON but people will harass you over!!!" and its shit that ive literally never heard anyone say before.
sorry this video is pissing me OFFF.... ill keep watching it to see if they make any interesting points but so far it's been so bogged down in strawmen that it's actually painful

I just saw your post about SAD london and I'm SO curious to know who you thought sucked!! if you don't wanna answer obviously no pressure at all, or if you'd rather just message about it that's cool w me too :)
I'm not maintagging nor allowing reblogs to this post. If anyone disagrees or has anything to say, please comment or write me in my dms! I didn't want to post about it after Spies London per se because I didn't want to be a party pooper and I wasn't sure if it was just a me thing or not (after talking with other people, it doesn't seem that's the case).
But I didn't like Oliver's Owen! I don't think he's a bad actor by any mean, and his voice is amazing (I was so impressed by both One Step Ahead and The Coldes Goodbye Reprise). However, I don't think he got Owen acting-wise.
Owen is a really complex character. He doesn't have much time onstage, as he is introduced in the same scene he dies and doesn't return until the end of the second act. He is built around different personas and lies, with a really complex relationship to Curt that is only seen through the subtleties of acting and dialogue.
In that sense, it's not a surpise that for someone who only had three days to learn and rehearse 3/4s of a musical you're not familiar with (because that's how much they did) didn't get Owen perfectly... But it was slightly dissapointing. I must say the version they had of the text didn't really help: they took out Curt's name and replaced it by Agent Mega/Mega, not letting Owen appeal to him during the reveal/staircase scene as much as he does in the original version; they took out most of Chimera and made it all Owen's plan and tech; and there were some missing beats that help flesh out the character. Even so, the delivery of certain scenes was slightly one-noted, only clinging to the "villanous" part of the character and lacking the theatrics or the heart of the character. To put it simply, I didn't see love in Owen during the staircase scene, and that's Vital for the whole show.
I really loved the production as a whole: the cast was really strong and I was so blown away to see everything they did just in three days. But with such a strong cast, if something doesn't really work it stands out. And in this case, it was Owen.
#still: i didn't really hate it or think it's fair to say he sucked (even if I did)#but he missed owen by a lot#maybe he would've done more with the character if he had more time to rehearse or if they revisited the show#idk idk#hyl answers

1 and 3?
the character everyone gets wrong
I really don’t think the fandom is big enough that I’ve seen a widespread characterization that feels incorrect. however I think we could do a lot more with the devils as symbols of London’s upper class, how often things literally from hell are described luxurious or coveted or expensive, how they claim to have undergone a revolution but still retain a distinctly Upper Class and very human attitude to life, how they literally use people are resources to power their machines- [I am dragged off the stage by a comically large hook]
3. screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr
my posts are mostly either oc stuff or relatively uncontroversial thoughts about the main game, so most of the Bad Takes I see come from additions on others’ posts or scrolling the main tag.
that said, I did get someone upset at me on this post about wanting more fat people in fl. which, yeah, in hindsight probably wasn’t a great way to word my frustrations but I didn’t even maintag the post. so like. what are you doing here.

I'm going to my first mountain goats show in a few days and I'm taking my brother along because I didn't want to go alone. He knows nothing about the band and only really knows no children and this year by name. Should I tell him anything in advance or should I just ask him afterwards if he liked it?
oh how exciting!!! hella jealous of all of y'all getting to go to concerts this week, they're gonna be so much fun, I hope you have a blast <3
i don't know how much experience you or your brother have with concerts in general but really all you need to know is basic courtesy stuff, be respectful of everyone else in the crowd around you, etc. different fans have different opinions about whether taking pics/videos is okay but I think as long as you're being unobtrusive and not disturbing anyone's experience you're fine. if you're wanting more specific advice for your first show, there's a lot of good comments on this recent post from the tmg subreddit, and first concert advice is a pretty common topic on there if you feel like searching for anything in particular.
it might be worth mentioning to your brother a) the way a tmg show is structured, with the solo set in the middle and the encore after, and b) that john talks a lot between songs sometimes, tmg shows tend to be a lot more chatty than other concerts usually are. but both of those definitely aren't necessary, they're just the things I usually think of when people are unfamiliar with the band! I took a couple friends who didn't know tMG at all to a show last month and didn't tell them anything at all beforehand and they still had a lot of fun.
final note: I've seen a couple of other people in the maintag (here and here) say that they're going to the UK shows! I don't know how you feel about meeting people from the internet but I can vouch for them being cool, and it's always fun to go "hey you're that person from the internet!" in the crowd before a show lol.
this has turned into a very characteristic ramble but I hope it was helpful! enjoy your first tmg show!!!
#txt#transmissions from lyric#ask#tmg#<- putting this in the secondary maintag in case anyone else wants to add anything <3#lol went back to do a once-over before posting and. 'all of yall' really showing my southerner there huh :p

Kay so I’m aro right, and because of that I’ve got some funky cool weird shit around certain common relationship activities tee ehm, one of those being kissing. Broadly speaking, I don’t like it. Forehead kisses, shoulder kisses, basically anything not on the face, those are fine for me pretty much 100% of the time. But like. Kissing kissing?? Like making out?? Ahaha no. I’ll do it for like a bit or to prove a point or whatever but then I’ll either surreptitiously or blatantly wipe my lips off after.
My beloved sundrop knows I’m aro and, pretty early on in our qpr, asked what I’m comfortable with in regards to kissing, and after trying to explain verbally what I just outlined in writing they just simplified everything and said they’d follow my lead and let me initiate as I would. And that took SO MUCH pressure off!!
Let me explain: in literally every other relationship I’ve had, kissing was an expectation. Whether they were purely sexual or romantic, every single one of my partners just assumed we’d be locking lips eventually, if not constantly. (The sexual context made kissing more bearable, meaning that’s really the only time I enjoyed myself.) Making out for the sake of making out was more a duty or a performance than anything I did because I wanted to; I wasn’t initiating anything, I was simply fulfilling the expectation of my role. So to have all that pressure, that specific expectation removed entirely? For it to be left up to me and my comfort levels? I don’t think I can adequately describe the relief it gave me to someone who hasn’t experienced that before.
That initial conversation was months ago. Last fucking year, if I’m remembering right. And now I actively enjoy making out for the sake of it! It is so fucking weird, honestly, but like a nice kind of weird - the kind you get used to, eventually.
Anyway. Moral of the story, if you’re in a relationship and you wanna kiss your partner, ask what they’re comfortable with first. Different comfort levels? Do NOT for the love of FUCK pressure them, let them take things at their pace and to their comfort levels because pushing someone to do shit before they’re ready to is how you fuck a person UP. And it kinda pisses me off that it took me until my 20s to find someone who loves me unconditionally enough to work and live with me as I am.
#technical talks#aromantic#actually aromantic#aro#<- maintagging this bc i want other aros to feel Seen and feel Hopeful#aro ramblings#sundrop#sure not everyone will get super comfy with shit super fast like I did#some of us may never do it#that’s not the main point tho. my main point was that a good partner - one worth staying with - is a partner who will put your comfort above#social expectations of relationships#my fwbs? my romantic relationships? they all ended. and ultimately they all ended for the same reason: I was always stuck in a role they#wanted for me instead of one I chose for myself.#here I’ve got the freedom and the support to choose and guess fucking what. I’m not special. neither is my partner.#it’ll take a bit of digging to find what you’re comfy with and it may take a bit of digging to find the person or people willing to sit with#you while you do#but it is So So Worth It. anyway in conclusion I love my partner very a lot <3

Okay I have a couple of bones to pick about the whole Technoblade situation:
1: Please don't tag random unrelated Technoblade posts with "death" or "cancer" content warnings if the post doesn't mention his death or his cancer. If people can't handle seeing anything about Techno that's fair and valid but in those cases JUST TAGGING HIS NAME SHOULD BE ENOUGH. What you're doing with this unnecessary tagging is actually the opposite of helpful, you're just reminding people who don't want to think about it and who just want to talk about him in peace.
2: Do not. Share. The hate. In the maintags. Don't give the haters attention. They're a tiny minority of people whose bullshit is currently getting completely drowned out. If you share it, even to complain about it, you're boosting them.
3: DON'T ACT CONDESCENDING OR RUDE TOWARDS NEW FANS.
OR OLD FANS WHO MAYBE HAVEN'T SEEN EVERY VIDEO.
OR PEOPLE WHO ARE JUST REACTING TO THE NEWS DIFFERENTLY FROM YOU.
OR PEOPLE WHO ARE JUST CHILLING.
OR ANYONE FOR THAT MATTER.
JUST DON'T BE AN ASSHOLE.
4: Relatedly, even if you think you're not genuinely being an asshole, if you're just being ironic or making a joke, actually think about how your comments in the notes might read to the OP, or other people reading it. We can't read your tone if we don't know you. And I just have zero patience for this kind of bullshit right now. FOR OBVIOUS REASONS.
5: This is something that I've only seen on YouTube and Twitch so far but: don't respond to random comments about Techno with "he's dead". Nobody asked.
Unless someone actually asks, obviously, but in that case do it with some fucking tact.

can i ask why people in the fandom seem to really dislike mishka? (censoring her name and such) this is not meant in an offensive way to you or to anyone else, i’m just new here and kind of confused. like did she do something legitimately wrong or are people just irked by the writing of the new book? hope you have a great day <3
OH yeah sorry i can definitely see how that's confusing to new people LMAO
so, it's a bit of both imo – i've been here since 2020, shortly after book 2 dropped, so my perspective is a lot different than newer fans
so, one of the reasons i censor her name, is because tumblr changed the search functions – used to be, when you looked up something, it was only things that were in that exact word order in a tag – so if you spelled t/w/c wrong in some way, it'd only show up results that were misspelled, if that makes sense
but now, it's like if you look up any word, random posts that mention it anywhere in the post will show up too – and i would rather not open myself up to the m*shka bootlickers bc i just do not have time for that LMFAO
i rarely maintag things these days because i just don't want to be perceived by so much of this fandom, but that's just a me thing
also, in terms of what she did "wrong"... on top of problematic stuff in text, there's a few things i can think of off the top of my head:
encouraging white/washed art by reblogging on to her dev blog while knowingly having the official skintone palette locked behind a paywall (patreon)
when called out for the above, they did vet their pieces i guess – by only reblogging black and white pieces, and art of detectives. then they stopped reblogging art completely
posting a white hand for a morgan instagram edit – and taking hours to delete the harassment in the replies, some of which being actually racist comments with slurs pointed at black people
in a q&a video, referred to m as an "attack dog", which was super insensitive, considering the consistent comparison of m to an animal across all platforms (text, tumblr posts, patreon content)
her treatment of f over the years, both in text and outside of it. her asks were a huge reason that the fandom has an infantilized view of f and they don't even consider them to be a love interest (much less one that gets physically intimate). they see them as a child. this bullet point is a massive one that would take too long to explain. i could probably write an essay on how problematic it is to immediately "other" your singular black character by literally making them an otherworldly alien, but i do not have the time
how she writes nb/trans characters. from what my friends have said who code dive, they get the same dialogue and variants that women do. obviously if you don't code dive or play with nb characters you probably wouldn't notice, but there are a good chunk of people in the fandom who play with nb oc's so... this is something that should be better, but it's not
to add to the above, she said she was getting sensitivity readers but... did they do anything? look at book 3 and tell me if they actually did anything (i have a feeling maybe those sensitivity readers were white queer people)
overall, it's very hard to explain and condense the fuckery my mutuals and i have seen both m*shka do over the years, and what her fans have let slide/incidents they've coddled her up during.
sadly, she doesn't take hard stances on things. she just lets things happen and that just. doesn't bode well if your argument for all these mistakes is "ignorance". if she's getting 10k a month on patreon plus sales (not to mention the fact she's a grown ass woman), then... it's the bare minimum to ask for her to be mindful of her audience and to do better.
and also book 3 sucks xoxo
#the last line was a joke btw i just thought it'd be funny LMAO#TY FOR THE ASK I HOPE U HAVE A GREAT DAY TOO <3#i know i have other asks to get to but i jumped at this one bc i should probably clarify this for anyone following me LMAO#but yeah all in all it feels like the fandom is back at square one bc of rampant whitewashing#no im not tagging this as fandom critical this is m*shka critical#also i'm not linking receipts or anything bc it's exhausting – ask anyone and they can tell u im not lying#IF THERE'S ANYTHING ELSE I MISSED SOUND OFF IN THE COMMENTS HATERS <3333333#asks

ive gotten more followers again so heres some intro to tumblr as an old tumblr user for you:
1: dont spam the maintags with things or overtag everything. Its fine for art or fics though usually because you want those to be seen more.
2: get a pfp, a banner, and make a pinned or a few words in your bio at least. Hide your follow and likes. People won't think you're a bot
3: people block and move on here mostly. there's no "callouts" on people, we don't do that here except i've only seen it in a few serious circumstances over the years, but generally not done.
4: comments are generally between mutuals or like when someones asking a question or personal posts. Like if you see a meta/art/post/etc. that you like its best to reblog it if you hit the like button. Replies/comments aren't really an algorithmic thing
5: It's also seen as rude to reblog with a response to every post. this isn't like twitter. like if you have a small comment that isnt adding onto the post at large leave it in the tags.
6: dont mistag in maintags. mcyt and minecraft are separate tags and fandom spaces for example.
7: itll be beneficial for you to get xkit
8: people liveblog on here esp in the mcyt/dsmp spaces. be prepared for that and block any liveblog tags incase that is something you dont want to really see on the dash.
9: curate your own experience. block tags and posts as needed.
have fun!

3 & 25 for btvs for the ask game :3
3. screenshot or description of the worst take you’ve seen on tumblr
idk my dash is so well curated and i'm not in maintags very often so i feel like i'm pretty well insulated from bad takes. however, the worst ones i see usually seem to crop up in a ship war context which is SO tired in 2023 for a show that's like literally 25 years old lmao. anyway, hardcore sp*ffy-vs-b*ngel girlies u need to chill, you both had plenty to eat. me and the real faith-heads i'm friends with have been surviving on crumbs for decades. check your privilege. all of buffy's love interests variously suck and are guilty of unforgivable trespasses. lets get you some fruit, bitch.
although okay there WAS some discourse i saw get ugly a while back about like. spike and gender stereotyping. spike is like a woman for painting his nails and liking poetry and soap operas and when there was the slightest pushback on that for being kind of a yikes thing to be saying with your whole chest it DID quickly deteriorate into mean back biting so that fuckin sucked. that feels worst-take worthy
25. common fandom complaint that you’re sick of hearing
everyone shut up about kennedy. i knooooow the writers made her kind of annoying. but she's my best friend she was played by a queer mexican actress she had a TONGUE RING she literally changed my world, i related to kennedy in a way that i couldn't connect to willow and tara. leave her alone!!!
choose violence ask game

Okay, so I just do not involve myself in discourse. It’s not worth my time. The Block button exists for a reason and I intend to use it as frequently as I need to to make my Tumblr (and any other social media) experience better for myself.
Not everyone shares my view on this and that’s obviously fine. If you like arguing with people on the internet about your very important opinions, go for it.
But maybe. Maybe you could not post this bulshit in the main tags for things. I opened up the mcc tag on here bc I wanted to see some cool fanart and learn what I missed from other streams, since I always only watch one pov and maybe switch for dodgebolt.
Instead, I found a shitton of people hating on Dream. This was not the first time. This is not Twitter and even if it was, maybe don’t take out your incredible rage on someone on social media. If you Gotta, go complain to your friends in a gc (assuming you have some) or die mad about it. Punch a Wall, kick a pillow, but don’t fill maintag with discourse about players.
Not everyone is as interested in seeing your hot takes as you are.
Also, I was watching Dream the entire time. How much of his pov did you watch before writing out that essay about him babyraging and being rude in chat? The dude was salty, obviously. He got first and then had to redo it, tried to cheese it and got fucked by his own hubris.
He was salty and kinda pissed afterwards, but he specificaly said that he does NOT want people to hate on noxcrew and that obviously, technical issues happen, but that it could've been handle differently.
Him being 'toxic' in the chat a bit after ace race and during hole in the Wall? If you watched his pov, you'd know he was making a joke of it and trying to get his head back in the game.
He himself said multiple times that he was just babyraging and that he was upset at loosing a first place, esp in a game that was played as late as ace race was and a game that has that big of a bonus for winning. It did cost him the first individual and it did cost his team first place points wise. He was not incorrect there, from what I saw.
Anyways, it was super entertaining to watch yellow and they absolutely deserved that win. Dream is not a seven times winner (5 canon wins let's gooo) just because of luck. It was great watching them pull back from fourth to second in SoT, wich is litteraly my favourite game and I was really glad it got picked. And that dodgebolt- lmaoooo, it was the most hillarious thing I've seen in a while.
All in all, this mcc was super scuffed, really fucking fun to watch and I can't wait to watch more vods tomorow, seems like it was a wild ride from every pov (specifically excited for Wilbur ace race and Tommy...just Tommy in general). Excited for the next one!
And stop spouting discourse in the main tags. <3

To add onto the thoughts I had in the tags of my last post, this is what happened with more than one campaign 2 character, as well! Laura, for instance, played Jester in several non-CR oneshots before settling on her build and characterization for the campaign. It’s a little different because we’ve seen these characters before on Critical Role—but nonetheless, I don’t think folks who didn’t watch EXU are at any more of a disadvantage than say, everyone who enjoyed campaign 1 without having seen the S.H.I.T.S. play however many sessions it took them to become Vox Machina.
That said, I absolutely do not blame people for wishing we’d gotten to see an entirely fresh roster, or who wanted to get more of the EXU crew all together instead of half the party! This is just my personal take on the situation, and ultimately I’ve decided that the decision to bring in Orym, Fearne, and Dorian 1) makes sense to me, 2) will let me enjoy their hijinks some more, and 3) means Robbie gets to join them at the table! All very exciting things.
(I’m genuinely very wary of discourse, so this is all I’ll be saying about it, promise. Just wanted folks to know where I stood! As a gentle general reminder to fandom at large, please be kind to one another, don’t maintag hate, and remember that it’s okay for us to disagree about this—the campaign is going to be a wild story regardless of how we got here!)
