Randomly came across one of the trailers for HTTYD: THW and watching it I realized; What you learn in the movie, is something you'd already know if you watched the trailers.

The Hidden World itself is supposed to be main mystery of the story and it's reveal is meant to take your breath away — yet it was already shown in the marketing material.

The reason why the dragons left is not really explored beyond " We reduced them to instictual animals Toothless gets a girlfriend and they have to fight another bad guy." You'd think there will be some big plot twist, something that'd change the formula a bit. Like doing something else with the antagonist(s), instead of pretty much what was already done with previous one (Drago)? Why not have it so every movie has an unique take on it's antagonist, instead of "evil man abuses dragons pt. 2: electric boogaloo"? (I'm getting a little off-track here sorry).

Then there's the characters — the same amount of depth given to them in the trailer, is the same amount they get in the final product. I mean, the side characters get more scenes, but that's about it.

The biggest surprise I can think of would be some scenes/lines being altered or removed.

Jensen pushed open the front door, the familiar scent of home greeting him as he stepped inside. The long day of filming was finally over, and all he wanted was to kick back, have a drink, and wrap his arms around his girl.

“Y/n?” he called out, tossing his keys onto the counter.

“In here!” your voice chimed from the living room.

Jensen grinned and made his way toward you, already anticipating the warm hug you always greeted him with. But the moment he stepped into the room, he noticed something different. You were sitting on the couch, practically vibrating with excitement, eyes twinkling as if you had just won the lottery.

Before he could say anything, you jumped up and rushed to him, wrapping your arms around his waist tightly. “Jensen! You were so amazing today,” you gushed, looking up at him with pure admiration.

He chuckled, slightly taken aback. “Uh, thanks, sweetheart.”

“No, really,” you continued, pulling back just enough to look at him. “I was watching the clips from set you send me, and babe, you were phenomenal. The way you deliver your lines, your expressions—God, you’re just incredible.”

Jensen raised an eyebrow, his lips twitching into an amused smirk. “Well, damn. If I’d known I’d get this kind of welcome, I’d have wrapped up sooner.”

You rolled your eyes playfully, grabbing his hands and squeezing them. “I just want you to know how proud I am of you. Like, seriously proud. I don’t say it enough, and I should.”

His smirk deepened as he gently tugged you closer. “Alright, what’s going on?”

“What do you mean?” you asked innocently.

“This,” he gestured between the two of you. “The starry eyes, the overwhelming compliments… not that I don’t appreciate it, but it feels like I just won an Oscar or something.”

You huffed but couldn’t stop the small smile from forming. “Fine,” you admitted. “I was talking to my friends today, and they were all saying how they never really tell their men how proud they are. And that just didn’t sit right with me, so I figured I should make sure you know.”

Jensen’s arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you flush against him as he chuckled. “Oh, I know, sweetheart. Trust me.” You swatted his chest. “Okay, but I wanted you to really know.”

“Oh, I really know,” he teased, leaning down so his lips brushed your ear. “But now I’m wondering just how far you’re willing to go with this.” You felt the heat rise to your cheeks. “Jensen—”

He grinned, obviously enjoying himself. “Should I expect a banner next time I walk through the door? Maybe a little ‘World’s Best Actor’ trophy waiting on the counter?”

You groaned, shoving at his chest lightly, but he caught your hands and held them. “Or,” he continued, lowering his voice dramatically, “maybe a standing ovation every time I say something impressive?”

You tried to glare at him, but his teasing tone and those damn dimples made it impossible. Instead, you burst into laughter, leaning your forehead against his chest. “I hate you.”

“You love me,” he corrected, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. “And I love you too—especially when you’re being all sappy and adorable.”

You sighed, wrapping your arms around him again. “Maybe I overdid it a little.”

“Nah,” Jensen murmured, resting his chin atop your head. “I like it. But if I start getting breakfast in bed for just existing, I might have to start questioning things.” You pulled back just enough to smirk up at him. “No promises.”

Jensen laughed, shaking his head as he leaned down and kissed you deeply. “You’re ridiculous.”

Jensen smirked as he pulled back, his green eyes twinkling with mischief. "So, just to be clear," he started, rubbing his chin as if deep in thought. "If I, say, take out the trash later, does that earn me another heartfelt speech about how I’m the greatest man to ever walk the earth?"

You groaned, shoving his arm. "Jensen."

He chuckled, clearly having too much fun with this. "No, no, I just need to know the rules here. If I bring you coffee in the morning, do I get a tearful monologue about how I’m the most thoughtful and incredible boyfriend of all time?"

You narrowed your eyes at him, lips twitching as you tried not to laugh. "I was just trying to be nice."

"Oh, sweetheart," he sighed dramatically, placing a hand over his chest. "You were more than nice. You were practically worshiping me when I walked through that door. Should I expect a red carpet next time? Maybe a slow clap?"

You rolled your eyes. "You're the worst."

Jensen let out a deep chuckle before leaning in close, his voice dropping to that low, teasing tone that made your heart race. "But you love it." You huffed, crossing your arms. "Maybe I should stop then."

His hands immediately found your waist, pulling you back toward him. "Oh no, no, no. I’m enjoying this way too much." His grin widened. "Please, tell me more about how insanely talented and perfect I am."

You playfully smacked his arm, finally breaking into laughter. "You're impossible." He shrugged. "Or maybe I'm just that amazing that you can’t help yourself."

You shook your head, still laughing, before shooting him a sly look. "Fine. If you want me to stop, I’ll stop." Jensen’s smirk faltered for just a second. "Wait—now hold on."

"Nope," you said, stepping away dramatically. "No more compliments. No more proud speeches. Nothing." He gasped, placing a dramatic hand over his heart. "You wound me."

"Too bad," you teased, flopping onto the couch.

Jensen followed, flopping down beside you and dramatically resting his head on your lap. "You know," he mused, looking up at you with those puppy-dog eyes, "I think I need a little reassurance after such a long, hard day."

You bit your lip, fighting back a smile. "Oh? What kind of reassurance?" He peeked up at you with a grin. "Nothing major." Peering down at his crotch and winked at you.

You rolled your eyes, running your fingers through his hair. "You are so ridiculous."

"And you adore it," he said smugly, closing his eyes as he leaned into your touch. "Just a little compliment then?"

You sighed, giving in. "Fine. Jensen Ackles, you are—" you paused dramatically, and he grinned in anticipation.

"Yes?"

You smirked. "A total pain in my ass."

Jensen burst into laughter, reaching up to grab your wrist and pull you down onto the couch with him. "You little—" Your laughter filled the room as he pinned you beneath him, peppering your face with kisses between his chuckles.

Next morning:

Jensen stirred at the sound of soft footsteps entering the room, the scent of bacon and coffee pulling him from sleep. He blinked a few times, adjusting to the morning light just as the curtains were pulled open, flooding the room with golden sunlight.

And then he saw you.

Standing by the window in nothing but a sheer, red babydoll dress that barely covered the matching lingerie underneath, you looked like a walking fantasy. His breath caught in his throat, sleep leaving his body entirely as he propped himself up on one elbow.

"Good morning," you said sweetly, walking over with a tray in your hands.

Jensen grinned, eyes raking over you shamelessly. "Damn," he muttered, running a hand through his messy hair. "Now this is a wake-up call."

You set the tray down beside him, leaning down just enough for him to get a better view. His hands immediately reached for you, but before he could pull you down into the bed, you simply ran your fingers through his hair and patted his head like he was some adorable little puppy.

"Eat your breakfast, baby," you said sweetly. Then, without another word, you turned on your heel and walked straight out the door.

Jensen's jaw dropped.

"Wait, what—" He sat up, looking between the tray of food and the door you had just walked through. He shoved the covers off, still in shock. “Y/N! That it?!” he called after you, but you didn’t answer.

He could hear you humming in the kitchen like you didn’t just wreck his entire morning.

Jensen groaned, falling back against the pillows with a dramatic sigh. He rubbed a hand over his face, shaking his head. “Is this what I get for teasing you?” he muttered.

But no response. You're back stayed turned to him, trying hard not to laugh.

After finishing breakfast, he wandered out to find you, determined to get payback for your little stunt.

Jensen had tried everything—calling your name, sending you pouty looks, even texting you from across the house—but you were on a mission to ignore him.

But when he stepped outside, he froze.

There you were, lying on a lounge chair in the garden, sunbathing in the tiniest bikini he’d ever seen. A book rested in your hands, and you looked completely unbothered, like you hadn’t just sent him into an early-morning crisis.

Jensen’s eyes scanned down your body, over your smooth skin glistening under the sun. He swallowed, running his tongue over his bottom lip as his fingers twitched at his sides.

And then, just when he thought he couldn’t be more distracted, you reached behind you and undid your bikini top.

His mouth went dry.

You tilted your head slightly, calling out in that innocent tone that he knew was anything but. "Babe?" Jensen cleared his throat, trying to play it cool. "Yeah?"

You stretched your arms lazily above your head. "Can you help me put some sunscreen on?"

Jensen smirked. Finally. He strolled toward you, confidence in his step. "Oh, I’d be happy to, sweetheart," he murmured, already imagining how his hands would feel gliding over your warm skin.

But just as he reached you, you rolled onto your stomach, completely facing away from him.

"Just my back, please," you said sweetly, resting your chin on your arms.

Jensen froze mid-step, his smirk faltering as realization sank in. His hands, which had been ready to explore every inch of you, now hovered uselessly as he stared at your perfectly positioned back.

You had played him. Again. He inhaled sharply, shaking his head with a deep chuckle. "Oh, you are evil."

You peeked at him over your shoulder, lips twitching. "Something wrong, baby?"

Jensen narrowed his eyes, squeezing some sunscreen into his hands. Thinking he was going to get you back for this.

As he slowly smoothed the sunscreen over your shoulders, he leaned down, his lips brushing against your ear. "You’re enjoying this way too much, sweetheart."

You hummed, wiggling slightly under his touch. "Mmm, maybe."

Jensen smirked, pressing a teasing kiss to the back of your neck.

Jensen sat in the middle of the bed, his back against the headboard, waiting. He had been patient all day, letting you play your little teasing game, but now? Now it was his turn.

When the bathroom door finally opened, steam rolling out behind you, his eyes darkened. You stepped into the dimly lit bedroom wearing another damn masterpiece—a silky, barely-there nightgown that clung to your curves, the lace teasing at places he was dying to touch.

Jensen exhaled slowly, watching you like a predator watching its prey.

You said nothing as you walked toward the bed, a small, knowing smile playing at your lips. He didn’t move, didn’t speak—just sat there, waiting to see what you’d do next.

Then, slowly, you crawled onto the bed and over his lap, planting yourself right on top of him. Your hands slid up his bare shoulders, nails dragging lightly across his skin, sending a shiver down his spine.

Jensen tilted his head, smirking up at you. "Now what?" he asked, voice low and rough.

You didn’t answer with words. Instead, you leaned in, capturing his lips in a slow, teasing kiss. Your fingers tangled in his hair as you nipped at his bottom lip, eliciting a quiet groan from him.

Jensen’s hands instinctively went to your hips, gripping you just enough to let you know he was done playing nice. But before he could take control, you pulled back, trailing your lips over his jaw and down his chest, leaving soft kisses and sharp little bites along the way.

His breath hitched, his grip on your waist tightening. "Oh, you are so testing me right now," he murmured, voice thick with desire.

You grinned against his skin. "Maybe."

Jensen chuckled darkly, tilting his head back as your lips continued their slow, torturous path. "Sweetheart, I really hope you’re prepared for what happens when I finally decide to stop letting you win."

You paused, looking up at him with mischievous eyes. "Oh, baby," you murmured, pressing a kiss right over his heart. "Who says you’re letting me win?"

Jensen let out a deep, shuddering breath as your head disappeared beneath the covers, the warmth of your lips trailing lower, leaving a path of fire in their wake. His hands instinctively gripped the sheets, anticipation tightening every muscle in his body.

And then—your voice.

“Oh, baby,” you murmured, pressing soft, teasing kisses against his lower abdomen. “You are so beautiful.”

Jensen’s brows shot up, a chuckle escaping him despite the heat pooling in his stomach. “Beautiful?” he echoed, his voice rough with amusement and arousal.

“Mmm,” you hummed, your lips grazing even lower. “So big. So perfect.” You sighed dramatically as if you were admiring a work of art. “Honestly, I don’t think the world understands just how incredible you are.”

Jensen let out a strangled laugh, his head falling back against the pillows. “Oh, come on—”

“No, no,” you interrupted, dragging your nails lightly down his thighs. “I don’t say it enough. You deserve to be worshipped.”

His breath hitched when your lips brushed over where he needed you most, but before he could even react, you pulled back slightly.

“Like, truly,” you went on, dragging this out just to drive him crazy. Your hand wrapped around him pumping and stroking oh so softly. “They should build a toy in your honor. Just so every women can have what I have—‘The Most Perfect Man Alive: A Jensen Ackles Experience.’”

Jensen groaned, throwing an arm over his face as he laughed. “You’re killing me, sweetheart.”You grinned against his skin, planting another teasing kiss on his hip. “Just making sure you know how proud I am of you, baby.”

His hand shot down, fingers threading into your hair, his patience officially gone.

Jensen’s head tilted back against the pillows, his lips parting in a deep, guttural groan as your mouth worked him over in long, slow, torturous strokes. His fingers tightened in your hair, his breathing ragged as you gave him exactly what he needed—just the right amount of pressure, just the right amount of teasing.

His free hand clenched the sheets beside him, muscles taut as fire coiled low in his stomach. Every brush of your fingers against his skin sent another wave of pleasure through him, making it impossible to focus on anything but the feel of you.

“Jesus, Y/N,” he breathed, voice wrecked, his chest rising and falling in uneven gasps.

You hummed in response, the vibrations making him curse under his breath. His entire body tensed as he felt himself teetering on the edge, that delicious build-up threatening to send him over. His grip in your hair tightened, his jaw clenching as he let out a low, desperate moan.

And then...

You stopped.

Jensen’s eyes snapped open, his chest heaving as he looked down in disbelief. “No, no, no,” he groaned, his hips instinctively lifting as if chasing your touch. “Sweetheart—”

But you were already sitting back, lips swollen, eyes twinkling with mischief as you wiped the corner of your mouth with the back of your hand.

“Something wrong, baby?” you asked innocently, tilting your head.

Jensen let out a deep, exasperated laugh, dragging a hand down his face. His entire body was wound so tight he thought he might actually die right then and there.

“You did not just—” He cut himself off with another frustrated groan, throwing his head back against the pillow.

You smirked, running your fingers lightly down his stomach. “What?” you teased. “I thought you liked a little anticipation.”

Jensen exhaled sharply, shaking his head before locking eyes with you. That playful look in your gaze?

He nearly jumped you. Pushing your back on the bed and hovering over you, his body covering the light, so all you could see was the perfect outline of the godlike man avove you. "Oh, you have no idea what you’d just started." He teased I a deep sexy voice.

“You are so in trouble,”, voice dark and full of promise.

Your smirk widened. “Oh, baby,” you whispered, leaning in close, your lips just barely grazing his.

“I’m counting on it.”

Followed you a long time ago for just how cool your art looks, finally decided to look into the podcast characters you like to draw! I just saw one ask asking if the character Oscar is POC, and I wonder are characters in those podcasts usually unclear in ethnicity, and the fandom can freely headcanon? Like I know if info is clearly very mentioned in the original work or there is official concept art then it would be easy, but I'm really scared if I headcanoned something that is completely different from implied canon info I didn't pick up/ info that showed up in an obscure interview. Do you have any advice in navigating information in podcast fandoms?

Usually with podcasts, you can go off of official art and or descriptions from the podcast. In the case of malevolent, hardly any characters, aside from the eldritch monsters that John likes to describe in detail, have a solid description of their looks. that’s why you get so many different variations of Noel and Oscar. Ofc there are context clues that can help you inform your design choices (or just context. like Oscar’s Scottish accent and the Butcher’s Irish accent. he may even have been described as being Irish but idk that’s besides the point, you can tell).

But even then you can play with it, like how I made Oscar mixed Scottish and Jamaican. And honestly! sometimes you can ignore it! like with Gordon from red valley, who I already had a design I liked before he was described as being pale and even implied to look white. but like I said ! you can have fun with it !

I also sometimes check voice actors, because in some instances you can’t tell someone’s ethnicity from their voice alone, and I’d hate to misinterpret their character because I couldn’t pick up on that. that’s more so a concern when the voice actor is POC tho. With malevolent tho it’s all done by Harlan, who is white, so I think headcanoning characters as different ethnicities is more important, and also way more fun.

Oh also! fandom wikis are a good place to double check. cus they’d definitely have something like that you may have missed- like something from an interview or the character’s full name, which can sometimes indicate their ethnicity ( like Parker Yang from malevolent, only shows up as a corpse in the show but important enough to Arthur that he’s still a fan favorite to make content about)

ghugh I’m rambling- I’d say the majority of the time you’re free to do whatever, just be open to change your design if descriptions come up later on (I’d say more importantly if they’re described to be POC, cus like with Gordon I think my design for him with more Afro centric features looks way cooler and feels more like him than anything I could come up with that would be more canon compliant). Also you can go off common fanon designs, but those are just mutually agreed upon and it’s not wrong to go against that. Like with the Magnus Archives there are no official designs and they let the people make whatever designs they please.

OKAY IG TLDR- do what you want, keep your ears open for character descriptions when listening, double check with character wikis or their voice actors, don’t be afraid to make more POC characters even of the cast is played by mostly white people because the more diverse cast the more fun and interesting your art will be.

CHARACTERS

There’s so much eye candy it’s unreal.

(There are more characters ofc. I just can’t fit them all here but trust me. Or don’t trust me and look them all up!!)

Even the mcs are hot

Which speaking of MCs…

You’re able to switch from female to male Rover at any time you want!! There’s just a limit of one switch per every 24 hrs.

Also they actually talk a decent amount during dialogue cut scenes which makes things more interesting imo. I like their voice actors and enjoy hearing them!

EXPLORATION

Exploration is so damn fun and efficient!! You have unlimited stamina except for climbing, swimming, gliding and during battles. But when running around you can run forever without losing stamina.

Also climbing is so quick and easy. You basically run up the walls. And you know when you’re climbing in genshin and you get stuck bc there’s a ledge? Yeah that’s not an issue in wuwa bc the characters lift and swing over ledges like that.

The scenery is so beautiful.

There are also quite a lot of helpful devices that every character has access to at all times. Like the grappling hook, which is similar to genshin sumeru grappling hooks except there’s no limit to how far away you have to be to use it. Makes it faster to use when exploring.

YOU CAN FLY IN ONE OF THE REGIONS. like actually fly and very quickly too. It’s super fun.

Additionally, each region in a nation has different categories that make up its exploration and it will tell you how much of each you’ve completed. This makes it easy to complete exploration bc you can see what you’re missing and focus on that.

FIGHTING/BATTLES

Boss battles are so unique and fun. It’s very out of the box and unexpected and I’ve never had more fun fighting bosses then I have in wuwa.

The play styles between each character differed a whole lot and each and every one is so damn cool.

Not only do you have the ability to dodge and counterattack, but you can also parry. There are other opportunities to do more than normal damage during battles as well. You have the regular attack, enhanced skill attack, and then special skill attack like in other games such as genshin and hsr. But you also have an echo attack and intro/outro attack when you switch characters in battle.

WISHING

It’s very easy to collect astrite!! Astrite is the equivalent of primogems/stellar jade. The game is very generous and when it comes to wishing, it is very kind when pulling for your fave characters.

COMPANION STORIES

Companion stories are super fun. Sometimes the game style changes to a 2d view (think Mario bros) in certain domains for companion stories and it’s such a fun little twist.

MISCELLANEOUS

YOU CAN SKIP DIALOGUE!!! Dialogue can be skipped for any and every quest. For more important quests, they will give you a summary for the dialogue you’re about to skip. But for simple side quests, they will just skip the dialogue w/o a summary. This makes gameplay so much more efficient bc I hate when there’s too much dialogue.

There are tactical hologram enemies that are essentially pre-existing bosses that are made to be more difficult and have about six or seven versions. Each version is more difficult than the last and provide a fun challenge when it comes to fighting. Bc sometimes the game can feel a bit too easy when you level up your characters, but these holograms make you plan and rethink strategies when it comes to battling.

This is your travel companion. Look at how cute he is!!!

Your characters will heal not only at the bigger teleportation spots (the ones that unlock the map) but at ALL the teleportation spots. Makes it very convenient.

Did I mention that the characters are really hot?

I am SO here for it!! What's kind of funny is that Sylus, Raf, and Zayne are kind of already celebrities 🤣 Depending on how you want to count being the Association's most wanted criminal, LOL. And Caleb was sort of a niche celebrity before, being Valedictorian of a major school & the coveted DAA program.

Hmmm what kind of celebrities though? Ofc it's fun if they're all rivals so a pop idol group is an appealing choice. But also interesting if they're each in a different "domain", so to speak.

Sylus has too many voice lines about being a rock musician (and it's too hot) for me to put him anywhere else. 🤣 Equally tempting to relegate him to guitar 'cause he's still a bad singer, or to say "practice makes perfect" and put him at the front 🤔 Either way he's definitely secretly also a poetry author 🤭 But would he be a bestseller or quietly doing indie publishing? hmmm...

Caleb's gotta be an actor. He's already so Tom-Cruise-in-Topgun coded and you know he'd LIVE for the attention. Plus it gives him the chance to get up to some shit while also being all like "what? who? me?" 🤣 Talking to Pips like "of course I have time for you" "gege you're booked back-to-back on shoots for the next six months!" No doubt he has his pilot's license and a small fleet of personal aircraft.

Rafayel has the most built-in celebrity status of all of them, and I feel like it's hard to do better than globally adored artist and singer. Maybe make him a pop idol instead of a classical opera singer (or both, 'cause why not??) Def comes from a long line of celebrities. I feel like there should be one more little twist in there... Maybe he's the celebrity host for a documentary series on archeology? 👀

Xavier would def have to be an olympic fencer who just started posting lazy vlogs because his coach pressured him to do it, and people love his authenticity and relaxed vibes, so he's developed a cult following on social media even though he almost never replies to comments. Zayne is the trickiest to me! Because he would generally hate fame. Novelist is tempting because it's the type of celebrity that requires the least going outside and talking to people. I hate to take away him being a doctor, but he def doesn't give celebrity doctor vibes. Like he's not gonna be shilling scammy supplements. But I could totally see him being a cardiologist who somehow finds time to write doctor romances on the side. 😉 And people are shocked by how passionate and heartfelt they are, especially if they know him professionally. And yes that makes both him and Sylus authors on the side, I like what I like okay.

I know you're a Homelander-centric blog, but I'm genuienly curious to hear your opinion and thoughts on Stan Edgar as a character. (This badass old man doesn't really gets recognition he deserves, tbh...)

ohhhh stan edgar...

tbh i think he gets heralded as a badass way more than he should be, and it's 100% due to the raw charisma of giancarlo esposito. that man is so goddamn likable! i love his voice, he's a superb actor. i always want to root for him regardless of the role.

but stan edgar is honestly one of the most heinous characters on the show. he's behind the majority of vought's schemes. he's vindictive and petty. he orchestrates the exploitation and abuse of god only knows how many children, plucking out the ones he deems most useful and turning them into weapons with dependency issues.

homelander and victoria ofc being the most standout examples of this. i LOOOVE the evil daddaughter thing he has going on with victoria, i love how she hates him and needs him and resents him and loves him all at once.

i think stan is at his most pathetic when dealing with homelander, though. he gets a lot of praise for standing up to homelander and talking down to him, but especially after s4, i find that laughable. he's talking to a man who's been psychologically conditioned since BIRTH to be afraid of people like stan and desperately yearn for their approval.

throughout s3 he mocked and tormented homelander like he was banging on the bars of a beaten dogs cage. he calls homelander, a man who was tortured throughout his entire childhood, "bad product."

who approved that product, stan? it just doesn't impress me to see him be so confident against someone whose buttons he knows how to press because he had a hand in creating them. he's hyper aware of the extent of trauma, and how to abuse it.

stan edgar is truly a character that i love to hate.

do u watch the sonic movies just for agent stone and robotnik

i mean... originally i was going to, yeah! the exact moment the first ever trailer dropped (april 30, 2019) i was already enamored with jim carrey robotnik, and ready to accept that even if sonic's design didn't get changed (which, come on, this is hollywood... usually if an adaptation sucks then it sucks til the bitter end. some of us certainly didnt see the redesign coming), this movie would be my cult classic. flop or no flop. ugly or pretty sonic.

i guess because... i saw a lot of myself in the spin jim was putting on the character! eggman had always been the sonic character that fascinated me the most as i played all the mario & sonic crossover games as a kid, but the particular interpretation of this robotnik- flowing black coats with red trim, someone who grew up as a very lonely kid and so now compensates with leaning into the "lone wolf of evil" aesthetic, someone who has a hard time emoting and feels more like machine than a person so compensates with BIG, LOUD THEATRICS, and a BOMBASTIC TONE OF VOICE! i looked at him and i saw me. i know it sounds a little silly and a lot of jimbotnik's traits come from the fact that that's just jim carrey's style of humour and slapstick but he's just always been kinda special to me even from the beginning.

but yknow, then sonic's design gets fixed! exciting! and february 2020 rolls around, the EXCITEMENT is in the AIR. me i was always going to be fine, nothing about rob needed to be fixed, but now people are actually EXCITED for the movie! YAY!! i head into the movie, and robotnik is everything i could have ever wanted and more. he's silly. he's COOL. he has his own DANCE SCENE. but then i keep getting flashbanged by these SCENES where robotnik keeps getting like, really handsy with his little assistant he has? like he's putting his hands in his mouth and telling him to pin himself against the wall? and then this emotionally-constipated MESS of a man shouts "I LOVE THE WAY YOU MAKE THEM???" WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? WAIT WE'RE JUST MOVING ON? ARE WE GONNA GO BACK? NO?! OKAY!!

so obviously im in love with them. with that aspect of the movie. this improvised relationship where both actors asked themselves the question "wait, if robotnik hates humans, why does he keep this one around?" and that question would stick with me for all these 3 movies. it's just so interesting to think about. not to mention how well stone and robotnik just work together as an onscreen duo

but, y'know, then i started really liking the movie's strange, wacky style of storytelling and jokes- i had never seen a cgi animal movie that took the human characters THIS seriously yknow? and by that i mean characters like tom are goofy ofc but it feels like in movies like smurfs they almost want you to not care about the humans, but here, you have stone going from Figurehead for Robotnik's Parade of Black Suits to Guy Who Genuinely Has An Emotional B-Plot In Sonic 3, because of the love fans showed for the character and for how jim carrey and lee majdoub played off each other. even characters like maddie get more in movie 2 because of how tika sumpter said she wanted her character to do more LIKE... LIKE?!

the humour really gets me too, its so strange in a fun way i love. if i was just watching it for rob and stone i wouldnt be watching the knuckles show. ive grown to ADORE the world of the sonic movies, and the actual superpowered animals are cute too! i like their designs, and yknow, this love i have for the sonic movies HAS inspired me to check out more of the games, the shows, the comics, not only to see more of my beloved robotnik (who, yes, i love EVERY version of now. no version of the eggman can escape my love. he is the perfect man) but also to see the other parts of sonic lore because even if it's not like sonic is my fav of all time... i like the storytelling now!!

but stuff like that- my entire lil rant- i think it's why i try not to get gatekeepy when it comes to fandom. because for every series you were there for in the beginning and have an encyclopedic knowledge of, you will have another one where you're only there for a small part or only have a casual enjoyment of. i like to afford other people that kindness because there come times and places when i will be a casual enjoyer of something, and hopefully people will afford that kindness back to me. because even if i do explore other parts of sonic lore and diligently appreciate all parts of the movie, maybe the fact that i'm so robotnik-&-stone centric is still being too much of a casual for some people. maybe i'm only a fairweather fan. even so- even if people think i'm only watching these movies for rob & stone-

God i finally caught up with this book i have been putting it off because lilia is one of my favorite characters I couldn’t handle seeing the implication that he’s going to die and the diasomnia family's reaction to it

But i finally recovered and steeled myself to be able to continue this chapter

God poor silver he definitely was going through it this whole book please give this man a break.

Gotta say tho diasomnia fans winning we get to know SO MUCH about them. I especially enjoyed getting all these chapters about lilia's past I’m so glad we get to see the things he went through!! The fact that he was involved in everyone's (from diasomnia) childhood and how he grew and changed his mindset on certain things🥺 i want to hug him he didn’t deserve all the hardships😔😔

I’m so excited for the next part and what they’re cooking up. Seeing lilia, malleus and baby silver intreaction were so precious🥹🥹 the fact that the accessory we see in lilia's room in the beginning was amade by silver when he was young??? And how much lilia treasured it?? JDJSJJSJDSJKSDJJDSJ

Even though i cried multiple times i still enjoyed these parts of the book a lot and it showed me that there is still hope that things will get better. Looking forward for the next part(which will release this month) to see ignihyde's involvement on this book? Maybe?

time for a rant that has been a looong time coming because

the WORST fandom i've ever come across/been part of. everyone was so fucking braindead. god the bullying here was So Bad. vld fandom was the epitome of 'you can't enjoy what you like'. and the bullies were like, some of the most popular blogs here. the content creators (among others ofc) here were NASTY. the people making decent art were so fucking rude to almost anyone that didn't bow down to them and agree with their views on the show, sitting on their high horse like they were fucking gods or something when they were like, 17 or something. mind u voltron was a show about ugly transformers lions and a bunch of kids in space meant for 7 YEAR OLDS. like stfu it's not deep, it's not important. i get that this is the internet i really do but apparently everyone was a pedo and homophobic and racist and needed to be cancelled because they weren't pure angels. i hope the people who liked the show, both teens and adults alike, have grown up and learnt what those words actually mean and why you shouldn't just casually throw them around. i hated you all. u had to be so careful about what you said on here, it was like north korea or something. i remember how kids got bullied into deleting their harmless fanfics, the fucking voice actors got bullied on a daily basis, it was BAD. i remember i got hate for having shiro as my icon and the background was the bi flag colours. I AM BI. also, so what if i had headcanoned shiro as bi, you couldn't have stopped me or anyone else from thinking that, and also IT WOULD NOT HAVE MATTERED, HE'S FICTIONAL, HE'S JUST LINES AND PIXELS. i know this is going to shatter some of your worlds (or at least would have back then), but a random ass nobody on tumblr headcanoning a character as bi when said character is "actually" straight/gay/whatever is NOT going to affect irl queer people in any way, it does NOT have real life consequences. who gives a fuck. since when has the fandom given a shit about canon anyway? fuck you.

okay, i've been bitching about the fandom enough (no i haven't, there's no way you can ever bitch about the vld fandom enough). what about the actual show? well. once again it's meant for 7 year olds. who cares if it was good or not. i've seen seasons 1–6. i liked season 1, didn't really like anything after that since the show seemed to change so much. the first season kind of has a different vibe completely? idk how to explain it, it just kind of feels like the actual show and then the rest was just a long fanfic by someone who was in love with keith's character. but since i was watching the show with my sister who was 10 at the time, it was fine, otherwise i wouldn't have kept watching after seeing season 2 i don't think.

here are a few negative things about the show imo:

making keith the main character out of nowhere after s1 (where he definitely wasn't the main focus) was so dumb. god the showrunners loved keith sooo much, it was so stupid. keith was nooot a leader. whatever.

making keith the black paladin was also so fucking stupid my god. and yes, everyone here wanting LANCE to become the black paladin just because he was the fandom favourite (don't get me wrong, he was my fave too) was so fucking braindead too honestly. shiro or allura. no one else made any sense.

canon allurance SUUUCKED. like holy shit that was so bad and horribly written, even lotor and allura had a better love story and had waaay more chemistry (and their relationship ended badly, rightfully so). and NO klance was never ever ever going to be canon, you were so delusional. like lmaooo did we even watch the same show? i just really enjoyed their dynamic and that's why i shipped them together, whatever. but yeah, like i said the bullying here was disgusting and everyone was cancelled, great, klance seemed to be the only thing you were allowed to like so in that sense i was lucky.

everything they did with allura in the later seasons............ you know what? i'm not even going to start. because wtfffffffff, as a storyteller myself i ?????? what in the world were they thinking. but yeah whatever it does not matter.

the point of this post is that EW EW EWWWW FUCK THAT SHOW AND FUCK YOU, if you were in the voltron fandom in 2017/2018 i personally hate you
