Skyblock Kingdoms species headcanons: expanded edition
okay so a while ago i had a post with an overview of my headcanons for the SBKers, but it was very basic bc i only had ideas for a few people . however, here is me now going completely insane. enjoy
Dark Oak:
Viking:
catboy. has ears under his hat, which is why he never takes it off.
i cant decide if he has a tail or not. itd make sense with the catboyism but not with the "able to hide it" thing
sometimes partially phases through things, and his elytra wings arent fully tangible. also: elytra are Very green.
not a species headcanon but, as is typical for when i write about Vikings: his compass points somewhere, and that somewhere is Down. if he holds his compass horizontally, the needle spins in place, but otherwise it's always pointing to the Void.
Fix:
is extremely normal. like, normal to the point where everything else just kinda.. fizzles out.
(Milkman is able to push it, but still doesn't get a strong reaction.)
if it somehow canceled out, something would be extremely up with Fix. like, this guy is Not human, hes just been made human by... whatever is causing this.
i don't know what he'd be, though. ccViking mentioned gryphon and i think that's fun considering there's a few other mythical creatures in here, but Solar has also been prodding me with the alien Fix agenda so
Cherry:
Rubyco:
pointy-eared allay hybrid
...although that's usually overwritten by her mimicry. shifts species and aesthetic often to better blend in with whoever xe's spending time with
might be an issue related to the timeline instability-- bleedover from other timelines where he's island partners with someone else instead of Vintage.
hair is made of gemstones, and injuries can show up as cracks or chips to reveal crystal underneath. (so, basically the same as my take on tRuby.)
has allay wings, obvs
Vintage:
dryad and guardian of the cherry grove biome
the original cherry tree on the island was Her Tree, and has now regrown into the big tree
i keep thinking [elora from spyro voice] "im a FAUN you dork" so . i guess she's a faun also??? dryad taking form of a faun
LUNA MOTH WINGS. I NEARLY FORGOT
what if a deer was a person. and pink. and a tree. and a luna moth. and had cherry blossoms growing on her. and was bi
Jungle:
Avid:
has everything wrong with him.
i dont know how to describe whats going on with Avid besides "it was BAD". the deeper he got into dark magic the more screwed up he got mentally and physically
got a white hair streak from stress of being trapped in incendium and his eyes gradually went from purple to red after selling his soul
nonhuman in the sense of "was human once and we have no idea what the hell he is now"
now he's monkey! this is an improvement. still has the hair streak though, and his eyes look red in some lighting
Doovid:
the actual only human on the entire server. Fix doesn't count
..and now he's monkey! oops lmao
im gonna be real most of my headcanons for who he is and where he came from are gonna hinge on me remembering to rewatch Shadow of Israphel. thanks mallow <3
full title Skylord Doovid, although nobody calls him that
elytra are a wood-and-canvas style glider
Birch:
Fool:
ex-human
covered in cracks and held together by gold seams, like broken pottery
bleeds liquid gold
can be mistaken for a marble statue if he stands still.
he's still flesh and.. uh, not blood, but looks a bit Off
Milkman:
gestures. WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS GUY
mimic shapeshifter like Ruby but, like. worse. guy who has realized he can use his abilities For The Bit and has never looked back
cannot be killed in a way that matters
Bamboo:
M1G:
humanoid alien with pointy ears, a tail, and bioluminescent freckles
eyes and blood also glow. M1G is very glowy.
has paws :3
dragon elytra
Kale:
space piiiiig
anthropomorphic, can be easily mistaken for a piglin
has the gift of opposable thumbs
Mangrove:
Marmalade:
ccRuby mentioned the idea of Marm having hooves and i think that's neat.
drifting further away from human the more times she falls into the Void
maybe some demon vibes? idk. in the category of "not a specific species, just has nonhuman traits" but Avid probably considers her demonic lmao
eyes have a slight glow. when doing magic or listening to the Void, the glow gets brighter / her eyes entirely change color and have a light trail
Tea:
kitty :3
like. Viking is catboy. Tea is cat.
Acacia:
Trog:
human... right?
not human. eldritch entity that's knitted itself together into a human form. either the original Trog is still in there somewhere, or was never there at all.
glowing eyes, sharp teeth, face always somewhat in shadow. movement either too fluid or too stiff. nearing the uncanny valley
has triangle pupils and their eyes reflect light like a cat's
bleeds black gunk (if they remember to bleed, anyway)
is "stuck" as human, but when stressed, too close to the Void, or losing focus they can start to glitch out into a chaotic mess of triangles and polygons until they're grounded again
Kittrix:
red panda hybrid! ears, tail, paws
very sculk-y under the hoodie. has the exposed soul-heart-cage thing the Warden does
sensitive to sound, but hasn't made the connection that it's a sculk thing and thinks she just has misophonia
completely unbothered by everything Wrong with Trog. it's all perfectly normal, says entity who is also not normal in any way shape or form,
Spruce:
Acorn:
was previously a squirrel in a raccoon mask
after the void jump, she's now just like.. kinda a mishmash of small winter-y animals. squirrel, ermine, fox, snowshoe rabbit, etc
congratulations! youve gotten promoted to "embodiment of winter". im sure that wont have consequences
does not have facial features under the mask. it's fine she doesn't need them where she's going
has arctic tern elytra wings
sculk is still surface-level, but it keeps regrowing when she tries to pry it off
Anathra:
android, looks human unless you play close attention - most SBKers haven't figured it out yet
used to overheat easily (especially with glasses off), but after his hair started changing color he's now freezing cold to the touch
glasses are an external attachment that lock into place, so Anathra taking them off is Very Intentional and they can't be knocked off by accident
is usually able to repair himself, but sometimes has to go to Trog or Neon for help
currently unbothered by the sculk, although he's getting a bit concerned about what damage it might do to his components if it continues spreading
Mushroom:
Elffe:
solar i am holding a hand out to you. elffebrine
(translation: what if Elffe was Herobrine. glowy eyes, teleportation, cryptid energy)
has mushrooms and crimson vines growing on him. that's probably fine
in contrast to Spruce being unnaturally cold, Elffe is unnaturally warm. radiates heat, melts snow and ice, etc
Artemis:
god i wish i knew literally anything abt artemis. please log back on all i know is that fallow thinks youre cool
End:
Neon:
cyborg, but in a cassette futurism way. 90s clunky electronics.
hard to tell how much of him is organic and how much isn't. has large bulky metal parts, but also faint lines of neon green circuitry that show through his skin.
is a bit run-down and weathered after being stranded with Leon. he was starting to rust :(
Leon:
chinstrap penguin :3
non-anthropomorphic because it's funny. scaled up to be average human size, though
has ender particles drifting off him
slowly transforming into more of an End creature because of his dependence on chorus fruit

I felt like writing!
It had seemed fine. The meeting was going great, nearly everyone had shown up except for boatem but that was fine, someone would probably catch them up later.
Ping
“Who left their communicator on?” Xisuma looked up, trying to figure out who had forgotten, “Guys? Who’s got their communicator on?” Weirdly no one responded, the only indication someone did have there communicator on was the soft glow at the back of the room and multiple hermits beginning to open there’s.
“Suma you might wanna check the chat.” Keralis’ spoke from the other side of the table
**Hermits chat.
ImpulseSV: helsp
ImpulseSV: help
GeminiTay: What’s wrong?
RenTheDog: We’re at meeting dudes, what’s up?
GoodTimeWithScar: somebtinfs wrong with grian
Pearlescentmoon: please help, he’s gone feral.**
Xisuma read the chat, confused as to what Pearl meant
**Hermits chat
XisumaVoid: Pearl wdym?
MumboJumbo was Slain by Grian
Pearlescentmoon: I meant that. I don’t think he’s recognizing us.
XisumaVoid: okay, stay out of his view, we will be there soon. **
The hermits filed out of the room, launching there elytra to try and get to Boatem quicker.
~~~
They arrived at the outskirts of Boatem immediately spotting Pearl, scar, Impulse and Mumbo hiding on a roof.
Xisuma tried to get their attention without pinging any comms by throwing rocks, however it didn’t work so he resorted to private messaging Pearl.
**w/ Pearlescentmoon
XisumaVoid: We’re here.**
He watched as Pearl checked her comm then looked around before eventually finding them. She tapped on the other’s shoulders directing them in the direction of the hermits, slowly they climbed of the roof being careful not to make too much noise.
“You have no idea how glad we are your here” Impulse whispered as he landed on the ground, the other three silently agreeing.
“Can you explain what happened?” Xisuma tried speak softly but his mask let out a slight buzzing noise.
“Yes, yes. Well you already knew we weren’t going to be at the meeting so we thought it would be best to have a meeting of our own.. down in the Boatem hole. I’m not really sure what happened but we looked away for a second and grian went mad.”
“What do you mean mad impulse? What’s he doing?” It was a question that was quickly answered as Joe stepped into a particularly bad lag chunk and fell over, making a loud noise when he landed.
“Joe, are you oka-?” Cleo was cut off as a red blur flew past, grabbing Joe with him. Grians grip was like steel, digging into Joes arms and spinning him around before using Joe as a shield for when they hit the wall. “Urge..” Joe looked mostly unscathed except for a few scratches, fortunately they now knew where grian was. Unfortunately he was screeching and puffing his wings out trying to seem bigger, said wings were weirdly tinged purple- Xisuma would need to ask about that.
“Yeah.. that’s what we mean.” Pearl looked towards grian who was circling joe, trying to figure out if he was a threat or not. “He seems to be attacking anything that upsets him.”
(ID will be at the bottom)
Hi. This feels like the achievement get how did we get here. Yesterday I was like yeah sure you know what I'll make up a beast real quick for an excuse for why I draw Subz horns like that, something that wouldn't be relevant really. but then. Well:
End Drifters are an Enderman adjacent mob that live in end cities. They are omnivores that have sharp claws often used to harvest chorus fruit and break open shulker shells for food.
Drifters, compared to Enderman, have tougher outer skin and spines to deter Endermites. Drifters cannot teleport but instead developed wings to navigate end islands. Adult Drifters grow hard light purple plates that can deflect Shulker bullets, but in adolescence younger Drifters take advantage of Shulker's levitation to practice flight while their wings develop.
They usually have purple or green eyes and light purple markings that can vary in exact shape, but always originate largely on their right side. Their wings are similar to elytras but not the same, elytra are an artificial recreation of Drifter wings, this is not common knowledge among players as worlds with actively spawning End Drifters are very rare.
[ID: Several colored marker drawings of ItzSubz in relation to a mob called an End Drifter. Subz is a pale skinned guy with long brown hair, one purple and one green eye, and three sets of horns, two sets being black and a smaller front one being purple.The left side of his skin is black and purple. He is wearing a black and purple trimmed coat with a large collar. He has like purple shoulder armor. The End Drifter is a tall lengthy creature with the same set of three horns, black skin with purple markings across the body coming from the left, light purple armor on the shoulders and knees with patches around it, light grey wings, purple eyes, two sets of arms with dark claws and legs with spikes down the back like a grasshopper and forked feet. There are multiple areas with text in boxes of light blue. The drawing in the top right corner is a bust up of Subz looking more similar to the Drifter. Text reads “wogh”. A drawing below is another bust up drawing Subz normally smiling looking to the left. Text reads “Normal(er) guy mode” and “[usually like this]”. The next two drawings are full bodies of Subz and a Drifter next to eachother. Text reads “(human leaning) >End Drifter Player” and “>End Drifter Mob”. Some qualities are listed bullet pointed to the right of them reading: “shulker bullets bounce off their “armored” areas.” “can also eat the non-shell part of shulkers” “Their wings and elytra are simular, but not exactly the same” “fugkin beast” “eyes come in green OR purple”. The last drawing is a simple chibi of Subz with his mouth wide open like an enderman. The inside is light purple. Text reads: “full of glow” End ID]
Aqua time :D I’m watching H’s vod
Pregame
The calm before the storm is worse, 100% agree. The event is amazing but the wait before and after the end are such low lows
H and Dave just vibing :))
“False is here too?! Surely something must’ve been scheduled” I love H so much
“It’s been 1,217 days since I’ve won MCC, but who’s counting?” “… You?” I think I’ve seen a grand total of one Dave Krtzyy video but between finding out they’re nonbinary, this joke, and the raw vibes??? I love him
Talking about how the npc cat is thick AND smarter than all of them combined is killing me
Dave saying they hope sands of time “will do from my enemy to my lover” 😭
False is so funny she doesn’t get enough credit
Parkour Tag
Cub cracked????
False did such a good job hunting we need to talk about it
I got so startled by Beky getting H I slammed my elbow into my desk lol
Rocket Spleef
Dave Krtzy having banger opinions left and right, good for them
He really is just saying stuff and all of its iconic, from “the rare true democracy” to “channel your inner elytra”
People taking the time to type during rocket spleef will never not be funny to me
Everyone hitting Jimmy is so Jimmy of him
False top 5 :))
Dave top 10 after getting 35th??? We love that improvement
Phil is never not an icon
Unfortunate minecraft physics, rip
H and Dave being 19th and 20th is so funny because I was like “buddies :D” and H said “I’m beating you, suck it”
H affectionately bullying Dave is my new favorite thing, actually
Sands of Time
“I uh don’t have the best track record at uh…. being good at sands of time” Dave 😭
“Hi HBomb!!” from H and his teammates is so sweet
I love the calm vibes, no frantic strategizing, just clarifying and communicating
“Dave I’m gonna be pestering and annoying the hell out of you” “As you should” I love them
H: “Has anyone seen the blue pathway” also H: *is currently in the blue pathway* my streamer’s oblivious /lh
Good plays in round 3!!!
Ace Race
Merely vibing
H popped off and didn’t even think anything of it, the raw power
Battle Box
Aw don’t love that slump where everyone stops listening to each other. It happens with most teams, it’s not their fault, people just get too in their own heads
False literally said it was their side like three times :(
That round was clean
The final round coming down to Purpled on 2 health vs Dave on 1 was such a good final fight, holy crap
Grid Runners
Best game time :D
They’re improving every round, I love that for them
I don’t think I properly appreciated how fast cyan’s crafting grove was before just now
They slayed waterfall lamps tho
H’s mind, man
I love when people who are historically more withdrawn take charge without hesitation, MCC has done so much for H’s confidence <3
Omg they got first????
“God, our minds are so huge compared to these dorks” “MASSIVE!!”
Own that confidence kings!! Love that for them <33
H is such a cool guy, he’s genuinely enthusiastic about how they’re 2nd without a top 10 individual. He just thinks it’s neat. He’s a top player who doesn’t care about stats but experience, and that’s what makes him the epitome of MCC :)
H saying “if another team goes nutty and gets a massive amount of fruitberries points or whatever then they deserve it, they can take our spot” WHAT DID I JUST SAY?? We stan one (1) cishet white guy here and it’s HBomb94
TGTTOSAWAF
Dave’s speech <333 I love them
I felt H’s stress there, that was so intense but he popped off
Dave doing an AMAZING speed bridge and then complimenting H’s strat, they’re so supportive I love them sm
“Sorry Dave, I’m gonna lower your points for things like that, cause you could’ve gotten first in that” “No, I do not care about that, I care about that sweet, succulent coin… that was a weird way to describe it”
The new finalist announcement is so suspenseful only to ruin it with a bubble sound effect lol
They’re so excited to get Dave their first win since MCC1 :))
They find it so cool that they got here without any top 10 individuals “purely balanced”
Dodgebolt
“Last time I was in dodgebolt I was a wee lad […] I was freshly 21, now I’m like 48 or something”
INSTANT he/they on he/they violence by Dave Krtzy lol
Aqua’s accuracy is wild, goodness!!!!
Their coms are so clean
H snatching that arrow!! I don’t even remember that from watching cyan
False calming asserting that she knows what she needs, not them, will never not be iconic
False saying that she’s down next arrow only for all her team to talk over eachother about how she’s got this and they believe in her <3
FALSE SUPREMACY!!!!! THAT 1V3!!!!!!!
Dave winning the first events of seasons 1 and 3 my beloved
FALSE DONT NEED PRACTICE
“False, that was insane, you 1v3’d that” “WHAT THE HECK WAS I DOING??” “You we WINNING, that’s what you were doing, you fool”
“1,217 days, bro” “It’s zero, it’s zero now!!” I love them
This team <33333
The most well-rounded team of all time, I love them.
Or as False puts it: “we weren’t cracked, we were just solid”
Where did winged!grian come from? I love him but want to know why everyone's art has him with (quite pretty) wings.
came from a lot of things! as it is with many things in the hermitcraft fandom, keep in mind some of this originates from "the hermitcraft fandom really likes non-human characters, as well as giving characters Recognizable Character Trait to make them visible in art, especially if their skin is kind of plain otherwise". (that has generally been my observation at least, keep in mind that i'm new around here.)
so, anyway: season 6! it was grian's first time using an elytra, and he started out pretty bad at it! however, over the course of the season, he got so good at flying it basically became his whole thing. elytra course was very hard and the speeds he could complete it at were impressive. he just... really liked flying, man. he also played a ""superhero"" character called poultry man, who would fly around and throw eggs at people. and, hey, chickens have wings, right? (if you've seen him as a chicken man, hey, now you know who that mysterious chicken man is! nice!)
and sometimes that's enough, you know? however, also big during season six - and i know some people don't like blaming this fic for everything because newer fans haven't read it but from everything i've heard it's still important - there was a popular fic called "and the universe shifts". (it's still the third most kudosed fic on ao3 under the tag, under shells in the foam and a tommy superhero fic i haven't read that apparently must have grian in it.) in it, we find two things that stuck around in fandom: the most common watcher tropes and design, and the original popular "hey grian has wings" fic, where his wings were because he was a watcher. (note that i have no idea if this is the first fic where grian had wings; i wasn't around then. i just know this was the first stupidly popular one.)
if you've seen grian's wings as purple, this is probably the origin point, and at that point, a lot of people started giving him purple wings.
however, then season 7 started! not only did new fans start to come in during season 7, but grian picked up new bird imagery! namely, the entire "pesky bird" thing started to happen during season 7, as well as all of his parrots. grian being a pesky bird (parrot) in the jungle was all a lot of fans needed to start shifting the design - his wings became the parrot wings that are probably his most common wing design because of that during season 7. plus, he was still clearly one of the best fliers out there and enjoyed it, which was enough to keep giving him wings.
at this point, i'd say that within the fandom, the original atus part was lost - new fans just saw people give him wings and were like "heck yeah its a guy with wings, haha, pesky bird" or "ooh watchers have wings" and didn't know there used to be a Big Fic that made that stuff popular fanon. so then, and then especially during season 8, fanon started shifting more directly just... assuming grian has wings.
since then, there have been little things that affirm to the fandom that grian should have wings. he refers to them as such, some comments he made during 100 hours about needing his wings, i think doc just outright called grian a pesky bird in his april fool's episode in season 9 which is really funny to me for some reason. it's become a pretty established part of grian's design, to the point that i'm pretty sure it's known to all of the hermitcraft creators and to the point that some people can't recognize a grian if you don't put wings on him, lol, even though that's not really an aspect of his skin.
i'd say at this point also the wing designs tend to just... vary by artist and what they like! i've seen a lot of people trying to take them from stuff he does every season because it's more fun that way. i know i've joked about grian's wings being shaped wrong and the wrong colors to actually be any real bird, and also the thing where they have eyespots, so that's a thing in my design, although i'm not an artist! at this point the why grian has wings varies too: some will tell you it's because he's a watcher, some will say it's because he's very good at flying, some will say it's because he's a pesky bird. up to the individual, and technically he also doesn't need to have wings! it's just sorta like philza in that it became really established fanon that keeps on skirting the edge of just sorta being canon at this point.
anyone who's been in the fandom longer than me can add to this and i'll reblog it
The Babysitting Game
They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well, Grian doesn't have a child but he does have an egg and a village. That’s basically the same thing, right?
Grian acquires an egg. His friends help him.
No romantic relationships or content warnings. Mainly fluff! Hermits: Grian, Mumbo, Pearl, and Scar. My first publish fanfic since 2016 and my first hermitcraft fanfic :D ao3 link and some inspirations to be linked in a reblog
Words: 2862
•·················•·················•
"What if I touched it really quick?" Scar asked.
"No, don’t-don’t touch the egg," Grian said seriously. "Look, I even made a sign! It specifically says ‘Do not touch.’" He gestured to the sign in question, but Scar ignored him.
"Can I rub it?" he said. The man leaned over it, studying the object carefully. Grian hadn’t known where to place the egg when he got it, and it was just sitting on an anvil for the time being. He didn’t even have a starter house yet, but clearly he was going to need something soon if he was going to protect the egg from some of the more . . . mischievous residents of their Boatem village.
“No, don’t touch the egg! Scar-” Grian walked closer, hands outstretched, just in time to see Scar reach out with his hand and pat the egg.
Vworp!
The egg disappeared into thin air.
Dragon eggs had a tendency to do that. It was a survival tactic--Grian didn't really know how it worked, but just as endermen could teleport away from danger, so could the egg if it were touched. Now whether or not Scar was dangerous remained up for debate…
Scar giggled. "Oh, where did you go?" he sang, hunting around the area.
Well, he COULD be pretty scary sometimes.
"Scarrrr," Grian whined, helping him look. "I told you not to touch it!"
"It's over here!" Scar shouted, finding the egg at the bottom of a small slope nearby. "Just one more time…." He reached out again.
"No!" Grian said, slapping his hand away. "Look, you've got to pick it up the right way." He demonstrated, carefully lifting the egg and placing it in a pouch slung over his back. He had hurriedly stitched it together not too long ago, worried that transporting the egg normally might break it. “If you do it roughly, you’ll scare it and it’ll teleport away again.”
"I see!" said Scar.
"Now, please, don't touch the egg.”
"Oh," Scar said. He straightened. "You're really serious about this."
Grian glared. "I am."
"I'm sorry, I just thought it was funny!"
Grian sighed. "It's okay, Scar. It's just--this thing is a baby, it needs to be handled gently! You can't just go around scaring it! What if it falls into a hole or something?" he hissed.
"Oh my god," Scar laughed, "you're its mother now!"
"No, no, I'm not!"
"You are!" Scar cried. He suddenly stopped. "Oh no, didn't you kill its mother?"
"Well it doesn't know that!" Grian snapped. "Truthfully I didn't realize there would be an egg! And I couldn't just leave it, you know! Here, look at this." Grian gently withdrew the egg from its pack, and Scar moved closer. He held it up to the sun. "Look at that."
The sun shined dark red through the deep purple shell of the egg, making it glow within. In the middle, the silhouette of a curled up creature was illuminated. Blood vessels radiated outward, and at the bottom there was a blank space that Grian assumed was air. The egg’s shell was too thick for any detail to be made out, but the processes happening within were clear. Grian was enchanted with it.
“Beautiful, isn’t it?”
"Wow," Scar breathed. "There's actually a dragon in there! What're you gonna do with it after it hatches?"
"Well, I haven't exactly thought that far--I just want to worry about keeping it safe first. I mean, what do you even do with this thing?" Grian put the egg back in its satchel, and rubbed his eyes tiredly. "I suppose you keep it warm and safe but, like, I don't know what else-"
"I could help!" Scar said.
"You were just playing with it!"
"Hey," Scar said defensively, "that was before I knew more about it!"
Grian rolled his eyes.
“What are you guys doing over here?” said Mumbo, wandering over. Grian just knew he’d been up to something, and sure enough, there was a new tree next to his little collection of chests. Grian wasn’t very bothered by it, because he already had a plan to get Mumbo back for it.
“Grian is just showing me his new baby!” Scar teased. “He’s a mom now.”
“I am NOT its mother,” replied Grian tiredly, but he smiled at the sight of the other man.
“A baby?” Mumbo asked, choosing to ignore the rest of Scar’s statement.
“A dragon egg,” Grian answered. “I found it in the End.” He paused for a moment, feeling almost bad. “After I killed the dragon.”
“Grian! You’ve orphaned it!” Mumbo sounded scandalized.
“Why do you all keep bringing that up!?” he defended, glancing between Mumbo and Scar, who both gave him disapproving, albeit playful, looks. “I know you’re Mr. Peace, Love and Plants this time, but we’ve always killed the dragon in every new world!”
“Well, I guess that’s true, but it is a little sad isn’t it? You’re taking care of it but only because you killed its mum.”
“Yeah,” was all Grian said. The dragon always needed to be taken care of in each new world they visited, and while it was always a bit of a shame, he’d never really contemplated it that much. After all, he normally wasn’t the one who fought it--that last time in Evo aside. He didn’t really know what he had gotten into but he felt deeply like he needed to protect this egg. It was like a tug in his chest, drawing him into the egg and telling him not to let go.
“Show him the egg!” Scar said.
“You just want to see it again,” Grian replied, but pulled the egg out of the satchel again anyway for Mumbo to see. The surface of the egg wasn’t smooth, like a chicken’s egg, but bumpy. The purple spots almost seemed to glow, and occasionally little violet particles drifted off of it. Grian felt like he could stare at it in awe all day, and apparently his friends felt the same.
“How’re you going to keep it warm?” asked Mumbo after a moment of admiring it. “That satchel isn’t going to be enough, and to be frank, I don’t see you spending any time sitting on it, even if the mental image is pretty funny.”
Grian rolled his eyes at the comment, but thought about it. How would he incubate it? He may have had wings, but he didn’t know anything about eggs, other than that it was a safe bet to assume it needed to be kept warm. “I'm not sure, actually.”
“Hey, let me design something for you!” Mumbo said excitedly. “I could probably use some redstone and make an incubator of some sort for you.”
Grian smiled. “I’d really appreciate that.”
Asking Mumbo to create a contraption for him--what could go wrong?
•·················•·················•
“I’m not wearing this thing, you know.” Grian said, holding the contraption while Mumbo wheezed with laughter in the background. The design that Mumbo had come up with was essentially a backpack with heating elements strung through it, except for one thing . . .
“You-you wear it in the front,” Mumbo choked out, wiping a tear from his eyes.
“Yes, I see that,” Grian replied, unamused.
“Like a swaddle!”
“Yes, I see that.”
Mumbo laughed harder. Grian had to begrudgingly admit that it was well designed, however. It would fit the egg perfectly, keep it warm, and most important it was mobile to ensure that he could take the egg with him. It was thoughtful, especially since Mumbo knew Grian was quite protective of it.
“I’m not wearing this thing,” Grian repeated. “I’m not going to let you all laugh at me while I walk around the server with an egg swaddled to me!”
“I thought you’d say that,” Mumbo chuckled. “Here, you can switch the straps around and turn it into a backpack.” He unclipped the straps and moved them into the new configuration.
“Thank you, Mumbo,” he said gratefully. “This will certainly do the trick.”
“Glad to hear it mate,” Mumbo replied. “Now, while you’re here, may I ask why there is an incredibly tall tree on top of my camper?”
“Sorry, got to go!” blurted Grian, snatching the backpack from Mumbo’s arms and flying off in a burst of feathers.
“That’s unfair, I don’t even have an elytra yet to go chase him down with,” muttered the man as he watched Grian disappear.
•·················•·················•
Grian sat in the grass in front of his starter home and rubbed his eyes wearily. He was exhausted. Is this how all parents feel? he wondered. Was he just uniquely unqualified to be one? After all, this was only an egg! It hadn’t even hatched yet and he was already tired of keeping up with it.
Carrying it in the backpack was heavy, and Grian tired out quickly. It was hot on his back, and Grian found himself having to take breaks to avoid overheating. It was also cumbersome, and he found it difficult to build with as it shifted his weight. He almost fell off the roof once while building it! Of course, having wings meant that Grian could catch himself easily, but it had still given him quite the scare. Dragon eggs were pretty sturdy, and would teleport themselves out of danger if possible, but he was still so paranoid about breaking it. And now there was the Boatem Hole to worry about--what if it teleported itself into the void? These things kept Grian awake at night.
But if he left it...well, just like Grian had a tendency to lose items in his chest monsters, he also had a tendency to forget where he placed things. He had been forced to go back and rescue the egg from some place he’d left it more than once, which he wasn’t exactly proud of. What sort of parent forgot their child?
. . . He was definitely not admitting to being its parent.
Oh God, what did I get myself into?
“Hey Grian, what’re you up to?” came a voice, interrupting his thoughts. He looked up and saw Pearl standing over him. Her hair was tied back in a ponytail and her hands were in her hoodie pockets. She took a seat on the ground next to him, and followed his gaze overlooking the Boatem village. “What’s on your mind?”
“This--this egg,” said Grian. It sat next to him in its backpack, still radiating heat. “I don’t know what to do with it. I’m just so tired of carrying it around!”
“I have to admit,” Pearl said, “I didn’t expect you to immediately adopt a baby dragon the very next time I saw you.”
“Yeah, well, it was an accident.” Grian groaned. “I don’t know what to do with it now, let alone when it hatches!”
Pearl thought for a moment. “You know, the rest of us are all here for you. The other hermits would be happy to help out, I’m sure.”
The other hermits . . . well of course they would. If it was one thing they were all good at, it was supporting each other. Scar had already taken a particular interest in the egg, although Grian was still a little suspicious of him scaring it again. Mumbo had specially designed an incubator for it. Pearl was visiting him to check up on him and offer help.
All Grian had to do was convince himself to let it go. To let them help.
“I know that but . . .”
“But what? Have you had any reason to believe they wouldn’t?” Pearl asked.
“Well, no.” He thought for a while. He thought of how his friends would lend materials when needed, or how they’d help replace someone’s armor and items if they were lost. He thought about the days where they all teamed up and chose one hermit to help out, and he thought about all the things they did for the good of the entire community without even being asked.
His desire to protect the egg was strong, and putting it into the hands of another person almost felt like simultaneously a betrayal of the egg itself and the biggest leap of faith he could take. But the hermits were good at leaps of faith, because someone was always there to catch you.
“You think it’d be okay?”
“I know it’ll be okay,” Pearl replied. “I haven’t been here very long but from what I’ve seen, I know they’d all help. They wouldn’t hurt it. They might be a little mischievous sometimes,” she said, glancing at Scar’s house, “but they know how important it is and would be happy to help. They helped you before, didn’t they?”
Pearl was right, of course. Nobody on the server had any desire to hurt the egg. He trusted that. If there was anyone that he could trust, it was them.
But how would he get them all to essentially sign up for babysitting?
An idea struck him, and Grian scrambled to his feet. “Pearl, you’re brilliant. Thank you!”
She blinked, a little startled. “Always happy to help.”
•·················•·················•
Grian stood back, admiring his work. A near perfect duplicate of the egg that was currently sitting in the backpack slung around his shoulder, but at a much larger scale. It was built out of obsidian blocks and crying obsidian for the spots, and if Grian was pretty proud of how it looked.
If Grian knew anything, it was that his friends loved minigames. And Grian was not above gently exploiting that fact to get a little help--just like barge game from the last world, where he managed to get his friends to help mine out the stone from next to his mansion. Just slap the title of “game” on something and you could get a hermit to sign up for anything.
“Now . . . I just have to write the signs on the inside.”
The game Grian had come up with was officially called Tegg--he needed to stay on brand with his tag games in every world--but he’d mentally been calling it “The Babysitting Game” for a while now. Because that’s what it really was--each hermit who signed up would also sign up to watch the egg and keep it safe. He set to work outlining the rules.
RULE ONE: Protect the egg and keep it safe.
RULE TWO: Keep the egg incubated or it’ll die.
RULE THREE: Keep a close eye on the egg.
RULE FOUR: Call Grian if it starts to hatch.
Satisfied, he wrote out the rest of the instructions. Because it was a game, he wanted to make it fun for the hermits too, so he’d decided to make it like a scavenger hunt. People were allowed to take the egg, provided they adhered to the rules, and were encouraged to hide it and keep it safe. Otherwise, someone else who wanted to have it could get it. The safer the egg was, the less likely for someone else to find it. The winner was whoever had the egg the longest when it finally hatched. Grian didn’t know how long that would take, but he didn’t want to miss it either, hence rule four.
Yep, totally outsourcing his babysitting onto his friends.
Grian squinted at his wall of signs, before placing one final sign at the bottom: Grian will track the game and has final say on points and rules!
“That should do it,” he mumbled. He still wanted to keep an eye on the egg, to make sure that he knew who had it and how many people’s hands it had gone through. After all, he was the one ultimately responsible for it.
Grian pulled the egg out of the backpack and carefully placed it on the ground. He’d somehow made a habit of just speaking to it every now and then--he had no idea if the little dragon could hear anything in there, but he liked to think that it could. “Hey there,” he whispered, and stroked the top of the egg. “Some new people are going to start taking you pretty soon, but it’s okay. They’re going to give me some help and make sure you’re safe.”
He paused, taking in the little room he’d made and the wall of signs he’d written with meticulous instructions for the egg’s care. It may have been the first thing he’d built for this egg, but he had a feeling it wouldn’t be his last. A baby dragon was a commitment and for the first time Grian really let himself think about what that meant, beyond just an egg that he had to carry around. Would he house it? Train it? Let it stay by his side? Would he love it?
I think I already do, he thought.
He thought of the hermits--their mischievousness, their pranks, their hard work, their friendship, and their goodness at heart. They were his family, now. What was one more addition?
“It’s okay,” he whispered to the egg. “I trust them all with my life, but more importantly, I trust them with yours.”
In the HermitCanyon au, How is my favorite Bee armored Admin doing? How long does it take for Xisuma to become.. aware of what is happening? For the first few sections it seemed like he was in a coma/unconscious. In the most recent bit Impulse tells Etho to get Xisuma, so at least theoretically he can now move, but how long has it taken him to get there, and where is he on the scale to full recovery? Are the other hermits keeping him safe with rabbit stew? (if they have rabbits that is...)
Part 2 of this.
Etho comes back twenty minutes later with a solemn look on his face. (At least, Puffy assumes. She can't actually see most of his face because of that mask of his.)
"X is in a bad way today," he says quietly. "I can take Puffy to him if you guys would like to stay here with Zedaph."
Impulse and Tango look nervously at each other. On one hand, they very much would like to stay with Zedaph, who is mostly healed but still very loopy and probably should not be moved. On the other hand, allowing Puffy deep into the Hermits' inner sanctum is a risk in and of itself, let alone with only one Hermit with her. Etho's a good fighter and a wily bastard, but Puffy is most certainly no slouch.
In the end, it comes down to trust. How much can they show Puffy before they can no longer trust that she won't snitch? How sure are they that she won't try to kill them all and steal their stuff?
"Tell Xisuma I said hi," Zedaph warbles from the bed in the corner of the room, out of any window's line of sight.
As Etho presses a button which removes a panel of the wall in a whir of piston noises, Puffy snorts out a little laugh. "I'll be sure to do that."
Tango nods subtly to Impulse. If Puffy brought Zedaph back to the canyon, saved him from a painful respawn, and didn't once ask for anything in return, then the Hermits can trust her at least this much.
Etho leads Puffy through a short hallway into a large circular room with a domed ceiling. The room is mostly quartz, though the walls are lined with sea lanterns and oak leaves. It’s beautiful. This place has been hiding under her feet this whole time?
“This is the Atrium,” Etho says, “or at least the main one. Come on, getting a mule will be more trouble than it’s worth if you’re not carrying anything.”
Puffy is speechless, utterly and profoundly, when Etho takes her through a tunnel on the opposite side of where she entered. It almost looks as though the tunnel here was carved by hand, then completely redone in dirt and grass and vines to give it a secretive, high fantasy look.
“Hey, Etho!” says a dark-haired man with a big smile as he comes trotting out of a branching hallway to the left. “Hey--” He catches sight of Puffy and his smile dissipates into panic. He shouts incoherently and dives back into the hallway he just exited.
“Hey Bdubs,” Etho greets impishly, then turns to Puffy. “Man, it’s like he saw a ghost or something. Maybe Mothman.”
Puffy bleats out a surprised laugh. Up ahead, she spots another Hermit lurking around the corner of the archway Etho is leading her toward.
“Etho,” says a tall blonde woman. “Cleo wants to talk to you about, er...” The blonde woman glances at Puffy. “Her thing,” she finishes lamely.
“Well, as you can see, I’m a bit busy at the moment. Would you mind telling Cleo so she doesn’t skin me alive?” Etho says sweetly.
The blonde woman snorts. “Face the music, Mothman. I’ll take care of Puffy from here. I assume you’re taking her to Xisuma?”
Etho wilts. Clearly, whoever this Cleo person is, she’s not someone to piss off. Puffy wonders what Etho did.
“See ya around,” Etho waves, somehow both cheery and morose at the same time, like a funeral for someone nobody liked. Puffy and the blonde woman watch him go.
“My name’s False, by the way,” the blonde woman says. “Thanks for the bandanna. Normally I’d be wearing it, but I just got back from beating up Iskall.”
The woman-- False-- laughs. Puffy is once again taken aback by the idea that the Hermits actually use the items that she makes for them.
False takes off in a brisk walk toward the archway she’d come out of. Jumping a little bit at being torn from her thoughts, Puffy hurries to follow. It’s hard to keep up, since all Puffy wants to do is stare. She must be in the living quarters-- they let her in the living quarters?! Each door matches the high fantasy, underground sort of aesthetic, but a few doors are left open and each one is remarkably different on the inside. One room is built entirely out of red and white concrete, whereas another is Nether-themed with actual fire, and the room down the hall is entirely underwater!
One door is different. It’s got blue-purple banners along the frame, and when False opens the door for Puffy, she can see that the room is made of blackstone bricks. Maps of the Dream SMP line the wall, and in the center of the room there is a mildly ornate table made of warped wood.
At the end of the table in the back of the room, opposite the door, sits a trio. To the left, there is a plain-looking man with a beard and an “at” symbol on his shirt. He speaks in a Southern accent to a man on the right side of the table, who wears a red sweater and twirls a feather between his fingers like the cat that got the canary.
In between the two, at the head of the table, rests someone very unique. He’s obviously tall, that much is obvious even when he’s sitting down. He’s also got mesmerizing purple eyes which glow faintly against the dark of the blackstone. Puffy doesn’t know why, but she gets the feeling that they’re supposed to be glowing much brighter.
As taken by the man’s eyes as she is, Puffy doesn’t notice the non-invasive breathing tube the man also has (a cannula? She doesn’t know what it’s called, but that sounds right) until the man’s gaze falls upon her, still standing in the doorway next to False.
“Oh,” the man says. “You’re not supposed to be here. Welcome.”
False steps forward, breaking Puffy from her trance. “Puffy, this is Xisuma, Joe, and Grian. I’d introduce you to them as well, but... you know.”
“I don’t know-- oh,” Puffy says awkwardly, catching sight of the massive crochet blanket she’d made for the Hermit months ago, draped across Xisuma’s shoulders.
“Why are you here?” Grian asks with a tilted head. “No offense or anything, but I just lost a bet. I had three diamonds on Cub bringing you in here eventually-- he’s the one you usually meet at the barrel, you know.”
False interjects, “I didn’t bring her down here, it was Etho!”
“Shoot,” Joe says. “Cleo wins yet again.”
“It was Zedaph, actually,” Puffy says. All eyes turn to her. “I found him on the surface. He was really injured, so I brought him back here. Impulse and-- Tango? Yeah, Tango-- told Etho to take me down here.”
Puffy uncharacteristically twiddles her fingers a little bit, feeling in over her head. “Uh, you know I’m not gonna tell or anything, so... Why am I here?”
The full weight of Xisuma’s piercing stare falls upon her. Even as fragile as he looks, even as strong as Puffy is, she feels a jolt of apprehension.
“You’d know more about the red vines than we do,” he begins. “Etho mentioned that they’re what hurt Zedaph; he’s mentioned them on multiple occasions, and never in a good way. How long do you think it would take for those vines to reach our village, and what do you think would happen once they do?”
“As far as we’re aware, there are several players who are proponents of the vines, and claim they originate from some sort of egg?” Joe adds. “I’ve had a hard time calculating how big of a mushroom we’d need to make an omelet out of the egg, but apparently most of my fellow Hermits do not in fact want evil eggs on their omelets.”
“And how come the End is inaccessible?” Grian cuts in with a whine. “I want my elytra.”
Xisuma huffs a laugh into the cannula. “As you can see, we have many questions which only a native Dream SMP player like yourself can answer. In the interest of keeping ourselves safe--” he trails off into a coughing fit.
Puffy bites her lip, feeling as though she really shouldn’t be seeing this. Joe rests his hand on Xisuma’s back.
“You give us answers, and we’ll give you diamonds, netherite, whatever you want. And when we move out-- well, it wasn’t much of a secret anyway-- we’ll offer you a safe place with us,” Grian speaks up on Xisuma’s behalf.
A thousand thoughts spin inside Puffy’s head. She feels like Dorothy in that tornado, and Grian’s offer is the Wicked Witch. “Did you guys really save Tommy’s life?” she finds herself asking.
The Hermits seem taken aback.
“The blond kid?” False asks. “Yeah, but he was unconscious the whole time. I think Scar told the kid to keep us a secret, but... I don’t think any of us expected that to actually work.”
Puffy laughs disbelievingly. “He’s the one person on the entire server who keeps insisting that you guys aren’t real.”
“That’s good to hear,” Xisuma says quietly. “Do you have an answer for us, or would you like some time to consider?”
There are a thousand and one variables Puffy needs to think about. What is Dream’s stance on the Hermits? Who will she be setting herself against by allying with the Hermits? What will Puffy have to expect, from both underground and surface-dwelling players alike? Which players can she take in a fight?
Fuck it, she thinks. “You’ve got yourselves a deal.”
Xisuma smiles. Despite his ill condition, she gets the feeling that this nice, mild-mannered man is far more dangerous than she could ever hope to be.
“I’m glad to have you on our side, Puffy,” he says. “Thank you for your help.”
LAS NEVADAS: EPISODE THREE
---
Quackity rides a white horse and overlooks the construction site where the plans for Las Nevadas have been laid out. There is a montage that shows Quackity in New L’manburg, then hunting down Techno in the Final Control Room.
Techno strikes him down and Quackity wakes up at Spawn with a bloody scar over one eye.
There is a rapid timelapse showing the buildings of Las Nevadas getting built one by one. Slot machine sound effects play in the background, then Quackity’s voice:
“Let’s start this hit list. Who’s on the hit list? Dream and Technoblade. If we go after Dream first, we’ll have government, and then Techno will go after us. So let’s just -- let’s just attack the problem from the goddamn root.”
Another rapid-cut montage of Quackity walking down the path to the prison, then a full view of Pandora’s Vault...
---
- Quackity is in the cell with Dream, telling him he’ll show him which weapon he’ll use to torture him this time. He puts an axe up on the wall. While Quackity is talking, Dream suddenly runs up to try and take the axe. Quackity hits him back and grabs it
- Dream cowers in the corner of the cell, pleading, while Quackity shouts at him
Quackity: “You do that again, and it’s over for you. Don’t fucking ever do that again. You understand?”
Dream: “Yes.”
Quackity: “Don’t ever reach for any of my fucking weapons ever again. Okay?”
Dream: “Yes, sir.”
- Quackity says these visits have gotten tiresome, and he’s busy. The Netherite barrier wall is put up between them and the lava. Dream tells him he doesn’t have to visit anymore.
Quackity: “No, I do, I do. This is what you don’t understand, Dream. This is what you don’t understand, okay? I do, I do have to come, every single day, so I can remind you, every bad shit you’ve ever done to me, to any other person on the server -- I have to come every day to remind you, otherwise I think you’ll end up forgetting, and I don’t think I want you to forget.”
Dream: “Forget -- I won’t forget -- I promise you I won’t forget!”
- Quackity asks him when was the last time he saw Technoblade. Dream says it was a little bit before he was put in the prison.
- Quackity asks what their relationship is like, and Dream describes Techno as one of his only allies. Quackity throws Dream a book and quill and tells him to get writing: a note to Technoblade to get him to visit the prison
- If he writes the note and doesn’t ask any questions, then he’ll give Dream a week’s break from the torture. Dream thinks he’s lying and refuses to write the note
- Dream suggests Sapnap instead and Quackity snaps.
Quackity: “If you don’t do that shit, then we’re gonna have issues, alright? You know what? I’m kinda sick and tired of these fucking visits now that I think about it. I’m actually sick and tired! I don’t like ‘em anymore! They’re boring, they really don’t serve any much more purpose, I don’t like ‘em anymore Dream. So this is what we’re gonna do. You either write that goddamn note, or I will kill you. I am not joking, I will fucking kill you, I don’t care anymore, I don’t --”
“What is it, the book? Are you threatening me with the fucking revival book, Dream? Guess what, Dream? I don’t CARE anymore about the book! I don’t give a crap about the fucking book anymore! You understand me? I don’t give a shit! I’ve lost interest in that thing! At this point, the only reason I come and torture you so much, every single day, is merely as a reminder, because at the end of the day, no matter how many times I fucking torture you, that will never amount the amount of fucking evil you’ve done to this entire server and everyone in it--”
Dream: “It’s -- it’s ‘cause you LIKE IT! You LIKE torturing me!”
Quackity: “You know what? You know what? I might, I might. I don’t give a shit, I don’t care what it is, what the reason is, if you don’t write that goddamn note -- I’m going to kill you, Dream. I am going to kill you.”
- Dream says Sam wouldn’t let Quackity kill him, but Quackity points out that Sam is beyond the lava wall, and he can deal with Sam later if need be. Dream shouts that he wouldn’t.
- Quackity starts swinging the axe around, then starts stabbing Dream while Dream begs for him to stop. Dream agrees to write it.
Quackity tells him what to write:
“Dear Technoblade...”
-
Chapter One.
-
There’s a village at night. It’s raining.
Easy job.
Foolish is there.
No innocents.
Big reward.
Easy money.
He draws his bow.
Peaceful heist.
He shoots the arrow into the village.
The village is ablaze and full of lava, people are screaming. Foolish rides off on a horse.
-
THE PURSUIT OF PEACE
-
- A bell rings. It’s Las Nevadas, and Quackity coughs, eating, while Sam comes through the door and sits down in front of him. Quackity asks where Sam found the villager running the restaurant. Sam says he just showed up, and Quackity scolds him for hiring someone random
- Quackity hands him a book with potential roles for candidates, people to join Las Nevadas. Sam says he thought he was going to hire George, Sapnap and Karl. They both pause before Sam says he was kidding
- Quackity asks Sam to tell him about Foolish. Sam has read that Foolish isn’t a good person. Quackity scoffs, but Sam says the two of them haven’t done anything inherently bad, and everything they do is just for justice
Quackity: (laughing) “Yeah, ‘justice.’”
- Foolish used to kill a lot of people. A job gone wrong written about in old history texts. Quackity still thinks he’d be a great option.
- In the future, who’s going to protect them? Sam knows what happened with Quackity and Techno, and they need some force in their team. Sam is still skeptical
---
- Quackity greets Foolish at the summer home entrance, asking how he’s holding up after the Banquet, the places he’s affiliated with
- Foolish is done with contract work for Kinoko Kingdom. Quackity asks him if he’d like to join Las Nevadas. Foolish is honored, but he’s happy at his summer home. As Quackity presses him on it, Foolish keeps insisting
Quackity: “I know who you are, if that makes a little more sense...I’ve done my research, Foolish, I have my connections. I know what type of person you are, if you get what I mean...”
- Foolish tells him this peaceful life has worked
Foolish: “I believed peace could be found through the sword, you know? Fighting. That doesn’t work, okay. That just leads to fear, to power, to hatred, resentment, all of that, okay, it’s a mess. The only thing I did was accelerate war, okay? That doesn’t work. So I pushed back, I ran from it all, and this is good! I’m in a much happier place!”
- Quackity then says he wants to buy Foolish’s summer home from him...for one diamond. Foolish is taken aback as Quackity explains that for all the work Foolish has put into this, it’s just a build.
No one stays here, they just admire and leave it. It is an empty shell that’s beautiful on the outside, but on the inside, it’s decaying, something that will disappear in time with no one to remember it...much like Foolish himself.
Quackity: “On the inside, everybody knows you’re...just a builder. And I was hoping, at some point, you would realize this...after I let you die at the Red Banquet.”
- Foolish is shocked. Quackity was behind those walls and he could have saved Foolish, but instead he watched him die. Foolish draws his trident, and Quackity asks if he would really take a life
Quackity: “I did it for you. I let you die because I wanted a better version of you.”
- He wanted Foolish to realize that this life as a builder would get him hurt, and he needs to go back to his old ways: feared, not a nobody
Foolish: “You threw away my life for some kind of fucking sales pitch!”
“Power...power...damn you, Qua -- what makes you think you’re any better, huh?! How’s that worked out for anyone else that’s been here? Dream? Wilbur? Schlatt? How’d that go, huh? What makes you any better, different, than them?”
- Quackity doesn’t need a sales pitch, his country is already big and other people would take the offer.
The reason he came to Foolish is because Quackity sees himself in Foolish: someone who once saw peace and betterment of people as the way to live. It brought him nothing but suffering, and Foolish has potential
The offer still stands.
-
Chapter Two.
-
An old-fashioned documentary plays about: the Slime!
Slimes are morphing elements that can morph into just about anything, even blocks. Is Dwane “The Rock” Johnson slime?
---
- Quackity glides down onto the roof of the restaurant in a ninja outfit and elytra, setting up redstone and TNT in the floor. There’s a bit of slime on the wall and he’s disgusted, running out. This is why he wants to kill the owner of this place
- He mines into the wall only for Charlie Slimecicle to pop out. Quackity knocks him out
- When Charlie wakes up, he’s stuck in a hole and Quackity is interrogating him, asking who he is. Charlie says he is a definitely “goobless guy” who has many bones.
Charle: “Dap me up!”
- As Charlie describes what happened, it becomes clear that Charlie has overheard all sorts of passing conversations and knows a lot. He knows too much, and Quackity has to kill him
- Quackity asks what else he knows. Charlie gets distracted by the snow, which Quackity teaches him is called “coke”
- Charlie saw Foolish, the purple guy, he knows of a green guy, a red-shirt blond guy, a dead-but-not-anymore-guy. Quackity asks about the dead guy, who Charlie describes as “sooty”
- Quackity realizes that Charlie is an accidental spy and tells Charlie this is just a friendly greeting, he can give Charlie a home. He coughs again and tells Charlie that a spy is a friend, and Charlie will be his spy as the two walk off together
-
Chapter Three.
-
---
ONE WEEK BEFORE THE RED BANQUET
---
A purple-tinged POV of a person walking down the path through the Community House as Quackity and Sam talk in the background.
It’s been so long, he might be dead in the woods somewhere, but Quackity insists that Purpled is perfect for their country. Sam doesn’t think he would ever join, doesn’t think he would ever affiliate with anyone.
What about a job?
The UFO is destroyed.
If Quackity offers him a one-time job, Purpled would take it. Once he has Purpled’s attention, Quackity can do something to reel him in to join the country.
Rowing to the skull base...
Sam says Purpled’s UFO is still there, but abandoned. He moved out along time ago. Quackity has a plan...
---
- Quackity and Sam are talking by Eret’s Museum. Sam is in charge of keeping an eye out for Purpled. Sam protests -- he’s the Warden and Quackity is breaking and entering, and he’s not supposed to break the law.
- Quackity has a stack of TNT. He climbs up the UFO and starts placing TNT everywhere inside
- Purpled logs on right in front of him and immediately starts attacking, but stops when Quackity threatens to light the TNT, explaining that this was the best way to get in contact with him
- Quackity tells him about how messed up the server is, that the Egg is still an issue, and he needs Purpled’s help.
- Purpled is in the middle of a mercenary job already, but Quackity will pay Purpled well. He has a new project getting him wealth, a prosperous country. To prove it, Quackity takes him there...
---
The Red Banquet happens. A fight breaks out, and they get the Eggpire to retreat.
---
- Quackity stands on top of the flower shop. He meets Purpled, dressed in his suit, and thanks him for his help with the Egg
- Purpled stops him to ask for his money. Quackity takes him up to the roof and shows him to a chest with the money in it. Purpled approves
- Quackity has something else for Purpled: he goes downstairs and flicks a lever, and Purpled’s UFO explodes
Quackity: “Purpled, your legacy is gone, and I’ve taken it from you. That’s the last piece of evidence that you were ever here, Purpled. That’s it. And you die a long with it. You die along with it -- YOU DIE ALONG WITH IT, PURPLED!”
- Purpled runs at Quackity, attacking him. Quackity stops him, saying he did it for him. Purpled has two choices: he can take Quackity’s life and run away with the money, and he disappears forever. Or, he could join Quackity.
- Quackity tells Purpled he has potential, why waste it away? If Purpled joins him, he can buy a whole fleet of UFOs to replace the one
- Quackity promises Purpled a plot of land in Las Nevadas
Quackity: “Take the gamble, Purpled...take the gamble, and you can change everything.”
- Silently, Purpled turns and walks away
-
Chapter Four.
-
- Fundy walks to his new house in the forest and goes to sleep. When he wakes up, he opens the door to find it’s a mesa biome. He’s upset and goes back inside, reassuring himself. When he opens the door again, he’s met with Quackity standing there
- Quackity invites him to a walk, saying Fundy was a hard person to find, but he found him
- Fundy asks what this place is, but Quackity says he should know it better than anyone. As they approach, the mesa is populated by bits and pieces of L’manburg. The wooden stilts of New L’manburg, fragments of the black walls, the Camarvan. Quackity reminisces with him
- Fundy isn’t sure that the drug equipment is necessarily “good memories,” but Quackity tells him no, everything is good memories
- As Quackity leads him towards an oversized, deteriorated version of Eret’s tower, he reminds Fundy of how L’manburg was blown up
- Quackity steps into the shadows
Quackity: “You know what, Fundy? Those memories don’t matter. None of that matters, Fundy. All these structures, all these things we built together...it’s here now, but it’s really gone, and none of it matters, nor will it ever matter...Fundy, if you think about it...you don’t matter. Along with all these structures and everything in ‘em, you’re gonna fade away just like it.”
- If Fundy doesn’t change things, he won’t matter, but Quackity has plans and he doesn’t have to fade away if he just joins Quackity
- Quackity gives him ten seconds to decide. He starts counting down...
- Fundy runs towards him into the darkness as Quackity reaches one and he wakes up suddenly in his bed
- He goes to his door and opens it. Outside is the regular spruce forest, and Quackity is there to greet him.
---
It’s the day Wilbur got a tour from Tommy. Wilbur walks over to his resurrection shrine and finds the “PROJECT NEVADAS” book, reading it.
---
Las Nevadas. Wilbur, revived, comes walking down the road.
He comes face to face with Quackity.
---
- Foolish stands on top of his temple, wondering...was Quackity right? Is he wasting his time here, accomplishing nothing? He isn’t really doing anything to work towards peace
- He stands in the beacon light. Can Quackity do better than everyone else that’s tried before him? Quackity wasn’t all wrong in what he said
- At the Banquet, when he did try to help, he wasn’t strong enough. He can’t even control his own area -- people just walk in and he can’t stop them. Does he need to try something else?
- Maybe there’s a balance between both ends of the spectrum. It wouldn’t hurt to go look, try something different
- He starts making the journey through the Nether, then past Spawn until he reaches Las Nevadas. Just to visit and look around
- Can he really trust someone who let him die?
- Foolish spots Quackity across the road and goes to speak with him. The casino is still going through some repairs, as they found some flaws with the “math” and want to make sure everything is fair
- Foolish asks what Quackity wants from him. Quackity tells him it’s up to him what he wants to do, and it wouldn’t be fair of Quackity to tell Foolish that until Foolish accepts the invitation
- Quackity tours Foolish around the place, showing off the various buildings, like a restaurant and an area for weddings. Quackity sleeps in the Needle. There’s also a strip club also undergoing repairs and a massive Eiffel Tower
- They swim in the pool and Quackity asks Foolish to tell him a bit more about himself. Foolish says he worked for Kinoko Kingdom and Snowchester, and Quackity wants him to elaborate a bit on Kinoko
- Quackity tells Foolish that Las Nevadas is “its own, independent nation” and that you can’t depend on anyone. Quackity wants to depend on only himself.
- Foolish asks about the people who might not like that it’s a nation. Quackity says he just doesn’t have a plan and he’ll deal with it when the time comes
- Quackity tells Foolish he’s welcome to bring others. Foolish notes that Quackity said he doesn’t like to “dwell,” and by coming here maybe Foolish can stop dwelling on the past as well
- Quackity tells Foolish that Foolish chooses who he wants to be. The last thing he wants with Foolish is bad blood
Quackity: “I take care of those who take care of me...why do you think I have no one around?”
- Foolish tells him he’ll have an answer tomorrow. Quackity gives him temporary tokens for the casino and says goodbye to go and sleep. Foolish thinks to himself in Las Nevadas
- That’s when Foolish spots Fundy on the road and the stream abruptly ends
- Ranboo is in his basement. He wants to move the lab equipment to the table area
- He has an experiment log book that he won’t show chat
- Ranboo reads the letter Foolish left for him about the littering at his summer home
- He has a plan for what experiments he wants to do. He’s changed his opinion on the Enderwalk, as it allows him to hear chat in the first place. He doesn’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing
- Ranboo reaches the stronghold portal room and starts lining the walls with iron blocks. He thinks that after today, he might be able to remember everything
- He creates a glass water tank in the corner and some brewing stands, as well as a lever-activated dispenser with arrows
- Ranboo hit a wall with the experiments and he wonders if this strange table might be the key to breaking through
- He realized something frightening:
Ranboo: “The Enderwalk isn’t a different version of me, it’s not a different me, it’s still...me. But, from what I gathered...it’s me with...all of my memories. Every. Single. One. And I realized that...so...I mean, who knows what could’ve happened? There could’ve been an entire other story that I’m not aware of.”
- Ranboo wonders if he wants to keep living in blissful ignorance or know everything that’s happened
- He opens the log:
---
[In Ender]
Purpose of experimentation:
To understand
To learn
To remember
---
To remember is one of the purposes. There are 43 pages, and one of them had the solution.
If it gets rid of it completely, he could lose all of what he didn’t know from before. It could either be good or unknown.
- He tells chat he tricked them. They weren’t just random experiments -- he was going to solve it, and he thought he needed chat with him.
He didn’t need a splash potion. He would use the arrow and go into the water tank, and that would be the solution.
- Ranboo goes back and blocks up the hall, deciding to only use it as a last resort if something happens.
Only if something happens.
He “welp” claps to end stream.
Hermit DSMP Swap AU: Part 10
[So I have been mulling it over for a while and I have decided to use the neo pronouns thee/thim/ther for c!Punz. I know I was already using they/them in the parts I have already written but this is what happens when I post as I write. I will be going back and changing ther pronouns in the previous parts.]
False jumped as everything changed around her. She was kneeling in front of an open enderchest looking at its constants. That’s strange, how did she get here? She closed the chest and looked around. She was in a simple round room, chests lined the walls and there was a bed under a window on one side and a ladder that went along the opposite wall. She went over to the ladder and looked up. It went up quite a long way.
“That’s odd.” She muttered. “Welp, nothing to it.” She started up the ladder. There was a floor with villagers above the one she had just been on but the rest of them were mostly empty. Coming out on the top she felt the crisp air. She moved to the edge of the tower and sucked in her breath. This wasn’t Hermitcraft, or any version of Hermitcraft she was familiar with. A wall surrounded a courtyard below. Beyond the wall shops lined a wooden path, hills stretched off to the left, more towers dotted the landscape and a tall red building could be made out in the distance. Fields full of flowers with a little path stretched out to the right, at the end of which she could just barely make out what looked like a nether portal.
“Punz, what’s taking you so long? You said it would only take a-”
False turned around as a man with a scar though his eye and a pair of small golden wings came up the ladder.
His face turned to a snarl “Not again, not a-fucking-gain.” He summoned an axe and started towards her.
“Woe woe, hold on!” False started. He swung his axe. She dodged, grabbing his arm and turning on her heel as she used the momentum of his swing to throw him on his back. “Ok so not talking, fighting, got it.” She sighed, summoning her shield and axe.
He staggered to his feet breathing heavily as he tried to catch his breath, the strap of his suspenders slipping down his arm. “Bring Punz back!”
“I don’t know what you are talking about.” False brought her guard up and watched him carefully for any sudden moves.
“Don’t fuck with me. Tell your buddies to swap thim back.”
“What’s going on up here?” A guy in a purple suit and netherite armor said as he came up the ladder. He had two sets of purple eyes, a smaller set just under the first, and his skin was tinged slightly purple. “Oh…” He said looking from the man with the scar, to False, and summoned a sword and shield.
False pursed her lips and glanced from the purple guy to the scared man, backing up as they advanced.
“Surrender and we can talk this out,” The scared man said.
False glanced over her shoulder, she was running out of space. “Yeah, I’d rather not.” Breaking into a run she vaulted herself off the edge of the tower. The ground rushed towards her. No elytra. She wasn’t wearing an elytra. Why did she join the no wings club? She summoned a water bucket and landed with a splash. She pulled up her GUI. An arrow flew past her. She raised her shield above her head as another arrow struck the wood with a thunk. She summoned her keycard and swiped to get back into Hermitcraft. Her vision went black, then returned. She could hear shouting.
“You do not have permissions to leave this server.” The GUI read.
She was still at the base of the tower. She sucked in her breath and swiped again. “Come on.”
“You do not have permissions to leave this server.”
The purple guy and the scarred man came running out of the bottom of the tower. False broke into a run. Arrows flew past her as she ran out the entrance and ducked around the wall.
GUI. Card Swipe.
“You do not have permissions to leave this server.”
“No!” An arrow struck her shield as the guy in purple rounded the corner and let off a shot.
False started running again. “Come on, Get her Purpled!” The scared man shouted following close behind him.
False ran down the path. More arrows flew past her. An arrow grazed her arm.
“Stop and we can talk about this,” The guy in purple called.
False spun on her heel and raised her shield and axe as another arrow struck it with a thunk. “Come any closer and I will be taking both of your heads.”
Her pursuers slowed.
“Let's be reasonable here.” The man with the scar said, his gold wings flaring and arms held open as he continued to slowly approach.
False pointed her axe at him. “I said no closer. You want to talk, you can talk from there.”
He stopped and held up his hands, returning his axe to his inventory “Fair enough.”
The purple guy still had his bow trained on her.
False edged backwards.
“All we want is for you to return Punz and Foolish. We don’t care what you do after that. You can do whatever you want with everyone else just don’t mess with my people,” The scared man explained.
False squinted at him “Sorry, I can’t help you, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
The scared man scowled, his voice going low “Listen. I am a busy man. I don’t have time for your games. We can do this the easy way or the hard way. Now tell me what I want to know or-”
Purpled let out a yelp as an arrow caught him in the shoulder.
“NOW!” Was that Etho’s voice?
The scarred man staggered forwards as Cleo slammed feet first into his back with all the momentum of an ender pearl.
False felt someone beside her “Come on,” Etho said. There was a shattering of glass at their feet and she felt the strange tingling of invisibility on her skin.
Etho grabbed her arm and they ran.
---
“Now tell me what I want to know or-”
“NOW!” Someone yelled.
Quackity felt the wind knocked out of him and staggered forwards as something struck him square in the back. He clutched his chest and struggled for breath as he spun around summoning his axe.
The fucking zombie women stood behind him. She winked and threw a splash potion at the ground, melting into invisibility. Quackity lunged at her swinging his axe but she was gone.
“Where did she go?” Purpled said.
Quackity turned around. The blond woman was gone. She was gone, and so was his chance of getting Foolish or Punz back.
“Fuuuuck.”
---
Etho lead False off the path on a circuitous route across the server. They passed shops with broken windows, peeling posters and graffiti. Creeper holes left gaps in buildings and the path, sometimes repaired with different colored wood and random materials and other times just left empty for others to fall through. They passed a large quarts building that looked like a museum, and beyond that a housing complex full of empty buildings that looked like it had never been lived in or used.
False noticed an obsidian Grid in the sky. Etho slowed as they got closer. A wooden bridge stretched across a massive crater in the ground, and a tattered black and yellow, red white and blue flag hung from the bridge. Vines hung from the obsidian grid, and waterfalls cried into the crater, pooling at the bottom where mushrooms grew.
False liked terraforming and building handmade caves but something about this place felt off. Maybe it was the obsidian grid that dominated the sky, maybe it was how all the buildings on the edge of the crater were partially destroyed and abandoned. This place didn’t feel handmade, nor was it naturally generated. It felt reclaimed.
“What happened here?” False whispered. She felt Etho tug on her arm as he led her towards one of the waterfalls.
“Come on, we need to get out of the open before our invisibility wears off.”
Using the waterfall they made their way down to the bottom. False looked back up at the sky as her feet hit bedrock. They waded through the pools between bedrock spikes and giant glowing mushrooms. Coming to one wall they came to a tunnel partially overgrown with vines. Etho picked up the pace and led False down the tunnel. After a time they stopped and Etho held a redstone torch up to a wall. Pistons whooshed as a door was revealed and Etho led False into the secret base closing the door behind them.
Etho let go of her arm “Are you alright?” He asked handing her some milk and drinking some himself.
False downed the milk, “I- honestly I don’t know. I think I’m fine… just a scratch. But what is going on? Why can’t I get back to the Hermitcraft server?”
“We… don’t know. All we know is that various Hermitcraft members are ending up here and the locals think we kidnapped their friend. At the moment it’s just you, me, Cleo and TFC.”
The piston door shifted and False jumped, summoning her sword.
“It’s just me, It’s just me,” an invisible Cleo said, closing the door behind her. Etho held out a glass of milk for her and a moment later she was standing before them. “I suppose that is a job well done. You should have seen the look on his face, It was priceless.” Cleo laughed.
“Actually, about that. How did you know I was in trouble?” False asked.
“We figured out that there was a pattern to all of this. Hermit appearances were all one week apart. If our theory was correct It was about time for another hermit to show up so we were out patrolling when we saw you getting chased by Quackity and Purpled.” Cleo explained.
“Wait, so you know who those guys were?”
“Yeah, we’ve had some run-ins with them before.” Etho said.
“Quackity thinks I kidnapped this Foolish fellow,” Cleo scoffed.
“Oh yeah, now that I think about it, he kept asking me to bring back someone called Punz.”
Both Etho and Cloe stared at her.
“What? Do you know who that is?”
“You got swapped with Punz? I can’t believe it.” Cleo laughed.
“I guess that is some poetic irony,” Etho muttered, his eyes squinting with a smile as he rubbed the back of his neck.
“Who are they?”
“Punz is a mercenary. Quackity just hired thim to track us down and probably kill us… maybe I should mention that too. Death might be permanent on this server so I would be careful.” Cleo said.
“Permanent? What do you mean? How does that even work?”
“It’s exactly like it sounds. You die, you don’t respawn and you can’t leave.” Cleo said.
“How is that even possible?”
“How do you think I turned into a Zombie? I perma-died and this was the only way for Joe to bring me back. Trust me, it isn’t fun.”
“Ok. hold on, this is a lot to take in… so you’re saying that we are stuck here.”
“Yup” Etho nodded.
“-The people here want to kill us.”
“Yup” Cleo said.
“-And death might be permanent.”
“Just about,” Etho said.
“Please tell me you have a plan to get out of this.”
“Nope!” Cleo chirped.
“I see.”
“Yet.” Etho interjected, “We don’t have a plan yet. We’re working on it.”
“Alright, have any of you tried talking to this server's Admin?”
Cleo looked at Etho.
“About that… as far as I can figure out they locked their admin up in a nearly impenetrable prison guarded by a warden who has sworn to kill us permanently if we ever go near it…”
“They did what!? What kind of hell anarchy server is this?”
Cleo shrugged, “Who knows.”
---
Punz’s felt a tugging feeling, like getting involuntarily pulled by an ender pearl, and ther vision went black. There was the familiar glimpse of the void as thee passed between servers and then thee was standing in the light. Punz summoned ther axe and shield, guard up, as thee spun around. Thee was alone. Alone in a small t-shaped room. The walls were red and a wooden shelf ran all around the top of the wall. Sunlight came through the windows at the ends of each branch. Chests lined the walls of the long foot of the t, there was an alcove with a bed and ender chest on ther left and a staircase leading down on ther right.
These hermits were clever. Punz wouldn’t put it past them if they targeted thim specifically after thee took the contract on their heads.
Punz went over to the ender chest and finished getting the things thee had been getting when thee was interrupted. Thee grabbed some extra rockets for ther crossbow and topped off on enderpearls. Thee was lucky that thee hadn’t taken ther shulker box out before thee got swapped. If this was a targeted attack then there might be others nearby to intercept thim after thee arrived. Best to keep ther guard up.
Punz moved through the space methodically looking through all of the chests. It was all just building blocks and regular clutter. Nothing that gave thim any hint to who thee had been swapped with or what their plans were.
That made sense. They probably wanted to make sure that thee swapped in in a place thee could do minimum damage. If their plan wasn’t to ambush thim but instead to deceive thim that would be the best approach. Thee needed to get moving before someone did show up.
Punz headed down the stairs. There was another t-shaped room and more chests. Thee didn’t bother with them and instead headed directly outside, keeping ther eyes on swivel, and ther crossbow ready, loaded with normal arrows so as not to make too much noise. There were trees and a little path outside that led around the building and off in front of thim to a bridge leading to a swamp and dark forest.
Punz checked the perimeter of the building. There was no one. Thee crossed the bridge and headed into the dark oak forest to find a place to lay low. Thee crouched by the trunk of a tree, the thick foliage preventing observation from the sky and the tightly spaced tree trunks preventing line of sight in most directions.
Punz pulled up ther GUI and looked at Tab. Thee recognized some of the names on the list. Xisuma Void, Doc M77, False Symmetry, all members of the Hermitcraft server. Etho and Cleo could also be seen on the Tab list. That either meant that they had returned to Hermitcraft, which was unlikely, or that the names that were appearing in tab were really the missing DSMP members.
Punz started, wait was that Foolish’s face? But it wasn’t next to Cleo’s name it was next to a name thee didn’t recognize ‘Genesis.’ On closer inspection it wasn’t foolish, but someone who looked a lot like Foolish. Foolish had a lot of children. Was that one of his kids? If so why could thee see their player image in Tab?
Thee summoned ther phone and typed /msg Genesis “Hello, who is this?” The server thought the message was sent by False Symmetry. So she was who thee swapped with. Interesting.
A moment later thee got a response, “Genesis.”
“Do you know Foolish?”
“He is my PaPa? Do you want me to get him?”
“No. That’s ok. Do you know where he is right now?”
“He is outside.”
“Where are you?”
“Boatem.”
“Do you know where that is?”
“Ummm…”
“Never mind, I’ll just message him myself”
Punz ended communications. So that was Foolish’s kid, and both Foolish and his… daughter? where on the server.
Punz typed up a new message this time sent to “Cleo” which should show up in Foolish’s inbox. Thee hit send.
---
Foolish stood outside his newly finished house talking to Grian and George. He could see Genesis through the widow playing on the floor with all the shells she had collected. He kept half an eye on her as they talked.
He felt his phone buzz from his inventory. “Sorry,” he muttered as he interrupted their conversation to look at it.
“Foolish, It is important that you don’t let anyone know I am talking to you. This is Punz.”
Foolish frowned “Why not?” he typed.
“Everything ok?” Grian asked.
Foolish glanced up. “Oh, yeah. Everything’s fine… It’s just Skeppy, he wants the redstone stuff I promised him.”
His phone buzzed again “Don’t trust the people here.”
“I hope you have a good reason for this. I just had to lie to Grian.”
Foolish looked up from his phone “Sorry, we can continue this conversation another time, Skeppy is yelling at me. I really should go get those things for him,” Foolish apologized to Grian and George as he ducked back inside his house.
“Don’t worry about it” Grian waved before heading off with George.
Foolish looked back down at his phone, a new message read “Quackity hired me to get you back. Where are you? Who else from the DSMP is with you?”
Foolish pursed his lips “I’m in Boatem. It is just me, Skeppy and George here.”
“Where is Boatem?”
“It is a settlement on the northernmost end of the continent. You should talk to Xisuma, he has been trying to find a way to send us back.”
“You don’t really believe that do you?”
Foolish stared at the words… he had believed it. Was he really too trusting? They seemed so genuine. But then there was also the way they looked at him whenever he mentioned anything about magic, with eyes full of judgment. Going so far as to ban magic. The same way Dream tried to put a ban on magic, to control things.
“It doesn't matter,” Punz continued “How many hermits are there in your direct location?”
Now that Foolish thought about it, the Hermits had gathered all of the DSMP members in the single place on the server with the most Hermits. “There are five hermits that live here.”
“Tell me everything you can about them. Names, skill level, weaknesses.”
Foolish hesitated. Should he really be doing this? Even if he didn’t trust the hermits, was it right to talk about them behind their back like this, as if they were a bunch of threats to be dealt with? But what if they were threats? He glanced at Genesis who looked up at him and smiled. He gave her a reassuring smile then began typing.
“Alright, here is what I know…”
Week 2 Transcript
Intro
Extra extra, read all about it! Welcome to the Empire’s recap, and today we will be going over the chaos and drama of our (somewhat) respected rulers!
Katherine
Princess Katherine is having some magical fun back in Glimmer Grove, with her cat mysteriously reproducing asexually. We love queer cats. These two cats are just the start of Katherine’s animal collecting today, as she creates a farm for both plants and animals! She even finds a donkey, what an ass-et!
Katherine admits she may need some help with the empire, leading to her quest to find the fairies! Getting directions from a friendly goblin, she’s able to find a pink sheep, which she carries on with her. This .164% luck helps Katherine quickly find a pillager outpost where the fairies are held captive.
Under the cover of dark, she transforms! [Overlapping Sailor Moon theme] Wait no- [music stops] Sorry guys, wrong one! After transforming into her more battle active form, Katherine rescues the fairies, and builds them a small, but spacious home!
Shubble
From fairy dust to blaze powder, Shelby wants to build a potions shop! Ambitious, but nothing is too much for Miss Witch! She spends some time preparing to go to the nether, before a visitor comes across her land! Pixlriffs comes to give her a gift and a trade of some potion ingredients for some mangrove propagules! And then, the time has come… for the trip to the nether. Shelby mentions her worries about the nether as they told her to keep it simple, stick to simple spells, but she believes in herself! And you know what? I believe in her too. She soon finds a nether fortress and intends to build up a real blaze farm, with pressure plates and buttons and things! Collecting a few blaze rods and then getting the hell (heh) out of there.
Shelby: Grandma would never believe this!
We then get to see the new large purple mushroom she declares to be her potion shop! She hopes to get her potions brewing soon, and maybe build a bigger house or even a witch tower! Speaking of things brewing, here’s what pix has been up to recently!
Pix
Mangrove in hand, Pix finally starts his first proper build, even if it's still not a starter home. The Savannah Ruins are a beautiful mess of what feels like half the blocks in the game - that’s why he needed so many different farms! His first experience with Litematica is a success - and even has a place in his "lore". It’s a wristwatch that makes holographic projections of the past - handy for an archaeologist! And the ruins may be small now, but they won’t stay that way for long.
Pix: And what I want is for this whole thing to turn into a kind of an ancient capital that is just going to have fallen into ruins over time.
Pix both loses and regains an elytra offscreen, and he’s going to need it for his next mission: setting up a froglight farm in the Nether. A beacon would help with that, so finding a fortress with good wither skeleton spawning potential is priority 1. He’s a real Goldilocks about it being just the right biomes, but he finds one that does the trick for now, and might make a good farm in the future. While he’s there, Pix gets the skulls for his first Wither, which he takes down to a strip mine he makes quite far away from both his base and any signs of the Deep Dark (though now the seed of a Wither Versus Warden match is planted in our heads). He takes it down with ease, grabbing the diamonds it mined for him as well as the Nether Star, and already there’s a beacon shining out of the old savannah ruins.
fWhip
From a historian, to a scrunkly in the basement, fWhip's video goes way off track immediately as he finds a double skeleton spawner deep in his mine! He sets up a bone and experience farm and rather amazing mine entrance with the hope of luring- I mean, welcoming other rulers into the underground. Totally not to scam them, no no. With his new business venture and tunnel digging being rather... ahem… shady, he decides to get on the good side of the law by attempting to befriend Jimmy! A few bones and a bit of banter later and he might have his first alliance! Seeing as most of his kingdom will be pretty deep and far from surface resources, it's probably for the best that he makes some friends. This of course doesn't stop him tunneling under a literal God's fountain and badly covering up the hole. Let's hope that doesn't come back to bite him later.
Jimmy
The Sheriff starts off his day by showing off his new horses and new billboard of people who respect him. fWhip gained his place on the board through some subtle bribery. They form an alliance for when Jimmy sets up his gunpowder farm. Jimmy decides to set up his town in a bowl near his wagon. It’s a very large hole surrounded on all sides by mountains of terracotta, and settles on the name Tumble Town! He timelapses himself building the first building in the newly named empire, credit to MythicalSausage for the build! Princess Gem then messages him to go on a mining trip together!
Jimmy: What makes you a princess?
Gem: I sorta just decided to be one. What makes you a sheriff?
Jimmy: I sorta… just decided to be one too!
They end up stumbling upon the deep dark and running away from several mobs and a warden! During his brave protection of the princess, he unfortunately dies to a creeper. She brings back his stuff, including his sheriff's hat! Gem gets added to the “respect the sheriff” board, and they solidify an alliance through honeycomb before he travels home.
Gem
Princess Gem starts her episode with a bit of mining. She gathers together enough diamonds for an enchanting table and builds up her empire's enchanting setup on a rocky island near her village. She builds up a path connecting her lovely little docks with the rocky island, and creates a small bridge across the water to help traveling between the island! She then spots a strange fire in a cave nearby. The fire turns out to be wisps, like the ones from Brave! She follows them to find a small ruin with a banner that looks very sunny for being in a cave. Gem collects it, and decides to use the banner as the symbol of her empire, which she then puts on the newly built bridge.
Gem: Maybe the wisps are onto something. Maybe they’re leading me to something, something important.
Sausage turns up at her empire, and she trades honeycomb for a goat horn and a mending book! Then, it’s time to build a lighthouse! She timelapses the creation of a sort of rustic, medieval looking but bright lighthouse that covers up her enchanting table so it isn’t out on the rocks. She does some basic enchants on her armour - you never know if it will save your life! A few minutes are spent decorating the interior of her lighthouse, adding flowers and carpets throughout. It’s time to make a name for the empire! Gem names her empire Dawn, the dawn of a new era for her empire! Another new era is coming up for…
Lizzie
Lizzie!
Lizzie: Come along now child. Get your adorable little fluffy butt in there.
As the shenanigans with Lizzie and the animals continue, her friendly goblin neighbour pops up of nowhere and convinces her to go to his totally safe goblin empire to see his double skeleton spawner. Lizzie’s death and arrows in her can confirm that this was totally not a scam. She then goes to make a crystal mine so she can get access to the farm. After forgetting the two emeralds in her inventory and getting lost on her way, she wasted absolutely no ressources. After having decorated her mine exit, built a minecart system, obtaining a minister and a deputy minister of transport she finally can get the key to the skeleton farm from fWhip.
But this whole series of events was completely useless as she has no use for bones.
Lizzie: I may have just been scammed.
After recovering from this, she decided to build her first true building in her empire, a community center. But, being Lizzie of course, she breaks 53 stone shovels terraforming for her new build. All while listening to the beautiful song Ariana Goate made for her. [Goat Screams twice]
After meeting with Scott,
Lizzie: Thank you very much colourful man that is lonely and lives alone here in Chromia. Goodbye!
and Katherine
 Lizzie: [gasps] So many naked sheep!
Katherine: Oh yes, aren’t they beautiful?
for the missing material needed, she can officially start building.
After 7396 blocks were placed, multiple stone shovels broken, the discovering of a “cheat” and four deaths, the community center is now open with a lot of empty space inside. But at least something that isn’t empty inside is Scott’s heart!
Scott
Scott’s plan this episode is to build a barn, before bringing us over to see his newly discovered skeleton spawner! This is incredibly useful as his export this season is colour, so he’ll need all the bonemeal he can get to grow those flowers! He also declares his new distaste for poppies! - …we see you Scott. We see you.
He gets to work on a barn design he found from bluenerdminecraft that he tweaked to fit in better! He quickly sleeps before heading over to build. After a barn building timelapse, he brings his animals to the barn and starts work on a ‘decorative’ wheat field. …It's not so decorative when you use it as a major food source, but we’ll just go with it.
Last episode, he met his best friend - a llama! We learn there are Lore reasons for his love of the creatures! He finds a llama to take back home, and then does some research to see where to find more llamas! He comes home with 2 llamas and 1 cow  - there was another cow, but it fell off a bridge …it was a perilous journey. He forcefully makes friends with his llamas and gives them coloured carpets representative of his kingdom - Yellow, magenta, and cyan - the same ones my printer uses! Until he bred more of them and now they are the colour of the rainbow … or a certain flag.
He then shows us his skeleton farm and timelapses himself building a cute windmill to cover up the access, which of course is on theme as it is the most colourful windmill in the lands, before spending a little longer than a few minutes  filling the land around it with several different flower fields and a path to link his empire together! An important decision has been made for the empire, and that is its name! Scott announces the new name for his empire is Chromia: the colour kingdom. The tagline being - a kingdom to dye for! Get it, dye? Like d-y-e? … Thank you random twitch viewer for that. Coincidentally, he also has Heterochromia! It just makes sense!
He picks some more colours for his llama collection. Less colourful than he would like, but colours nonetheless! Or tones, if you’re into colour theory. One of the colours he needs to be The Colour Kingdom is green, so of course it is necessary to build a small cactus farm before the end of the episode! It is very small. Speaking of small things, let’s talk about Joel, our very own 11ft God!
Joel
This week, our resident god welcomes us back by letting us know that he is tall, strong and sexy. It seems that Sausage has returned the strange shulker child to Joel, with a gift. After he points out the sad state of his base, he decides to instead work on an enchanting setup, but more on that later. He constructs a small bee farm for wax, and once again reassures us that he is the tallest and strongest on the server... I'm starting to sense a pattern there.
He attempts to prank Jimmy while gathering gold from the mesa. However, this plan backfires on him when he crashes into the ground. Materials acquired, he builds an enchanting island...thing (we're not quite sure what it is), complete with a floating path and trees. He then declares piglins to be the new head he's collecting this season, as his hatred for them has somehow managed to overtake his hatred of horses.
While acquiring experience to enchant, he attempts to prank his neighbor, Lizzie and returns the child to sausage with a gift. He then goes to Lizzie's Animal Kingdom to acquire amethyst for his portal build, though the trade is slightly derailed by one of her foxes escaping with some of the goods. With amethyst in hand, he returns home to rebuild his nether portal up in the air.
Sausage
Sausage begins his episode by finding out who the mother of the child is through Pablo the parrot. it is… Smallishbeans! Sausage then proceeds to deliver the child back to him since they share custody over it.
Sausage: Where should I put our child?
 After returning home from the trip he begins to gather resources to build his animal barn but finds that he has no copper. fWhip answers his call for copper and trades him a stack of copper for 9 mending books! seems a little overpriced, but when you need copper, you need copper. Jimmy then wanders by in search of dark oak wood. This leads to Jimmy's entire conversation with Sausage in Spanish (Jimmy doesn’t know Spanish).
Sausage: ¿Cómo estás usted? Gracias, [unsure of this word].
Jimmy: Oh my gosh, wait-
Finally with no more interruptions he is able to start on his barn.
False
Falsesymmetry starts her episode out by going mining! She grabs enough diamonds to craft a pickaxe, and starts building a portal. Once she emerges on the other side, False finds herself in a crimson forest, where she witnesses a murder and a hogling dance, which are quite rare on Java Edition. After seeing a horrible death, False jumps back into the over world to decorate her enchanting room and cave area! Although afterwards she decides to move the  upstairs, her base is starting to come together.
Throughout this episode, she states several times that she really does want to get home, and she doesn't really need a big base. Despite this, she goes on to add an iron farm and a large storage space, with a unique sorting system. Taking a step back, False admires her tower, and plans on making it taller so she can see everyone. While admiring her tower, she finds a dead body with clothes suspiciously matching her theme. Who was that man? Why is False taking their clothes? Why is False so paranoid? We may never know.
Joey
False may think she's being watched, but Joey knows he is - he just hopes the skeletrons like the view! The pirate sets out for diamonds, but mines a bit further down than he plans, and into the Deep Dark - and the local guardian isn't too pleased to hear an intruder. In the end, it's not the Warden that gets him, just falling off a cliff, - thankfully, his elytra is okay. What king of a future Neverland is complete without the perfect way to fly? After trying on a few temporary options for wings (and settling on the bones of his enemies), he sets out across the sea in search of treasure and the tools to make his wings less fragile and more magical.
Returning home, he builds the first dock for his port, and prepares to enchant his elytra in the ship's hold - except he doesn't have the levels. Thankfully, fWhip has a skeleton farm nearby that Joey can use, for the small price of the diamond pickaxe he just made. Sadly, Joey forgot that you can't enchant an Elytra from a table, only from books. Better luck next time, Captain!
Outro
And with that join us next week for more chaos and shenanigans! Thank you for watching, and thanks to everyone helping with the project, check them all out below!
and for Chapter 1, head here
Chapter 4 is HERE!
and @petrichormeraki Hope you didn’t forget about your Whitelist AU :)
Now that they were settled in their boats, Tommy was given a moment to realize where exactly it was he was going. And, oh shit. The builds he could see were bigger than any one solid, finished structure he’s seen on the Dream SMP.
Pockets of strange, purple clumps of spores poked out by the shore, in contrast to the rest of the island. A portion of hte island, too, was covered in the crimson netherrack. It was absolutely insane- Tommy didn’t think he’d ever seen buildings quite like them.
“...Holy...Fuck..” He voiced, breathless.
The brunnette woman in the boat beside his frowned, peering over her and Grian’s own boat. “We’re not exactly a PG server, but I think we’d all appreciate it if you tried to keep your language just a smidge cleaner,” She’d passively comment, eyes narrowing on the blond boy who turned to glare at her.
“Stress, they’re teenagers.” Grian would laugh, before the blond would be given a chance to respond. “I’ve heard Doc’s drunk ranting. We’re definitely not clean.”
She turned, raising a brow at the dirty blond. “Grian, I haven’t heard you say a naughty word, even once!” She chuckled, tilting her head.
“Sure,” he remarked agreeably, “but I was a teenager.”  Giving a small, sharp smile, he turned his head back out to sea.
Tommy, huffing with effort as he continued rowing his and Tubbo’s boat, felt the fight sizzle out. His defenses dropped, too busy looking at the buildings cluttering the island. Masses of structures, all of varying sizes and designs, were impossible to look away from.
As if remembering suddenly of Tubbo’s lack of perpetual vision, he turned, nudging their arm.
Tubbo practically jumped, almost tipping out of the boat. They pulled their arm out of the water, where they’d been contently dragging their arm along, and tilted their head towards their friend. “Huh? Uh- hey! Sorry. I was spacing out. Are we there?”
“Nope,” Tommy shook his head. “But this island looks insane! Seriously, what the hell? How many of you people are there! What the FUCK is this place!” He gawked, turning back towards the Hermits. Considering Stress only gave an exasperated smile, he didn’t feel too bad with his language.
“Our Cowmercial district! Mind the, uh, terrain. We’re in the middle of handling a.. Disagreement.” Grian chuckled, a wolfish grin sprawling across their face. “Just for the principle, y’know?”
Tommy stared blankly at the back of Grian’s head, the older Brit unphased.
“..Sure, right. But no! What the fuck! I’ve never seen, like, half of those blocks before in my life! What are those buildings?” He gawked.
The strange, shadowery mansion- intricate patterns and overheads marking each wall, with scales on top. A giant chest! With..Eyes? It was twice the size of the community house! He could see four separate beacon lights! At least!
“Tubbo! There’s a- a huge ass chest with eyes! And a fuckin’ mansion, and it’s all dark and shit! Is- is that a cloud made out of glass, up there? What the fuck!” The boat was practically rocking as he cried out.
“Tommy, we’re gonna fall in, Big Man!” They chuckled nervously, grasping at the wooden walls of the boat. “Are all the buildings huge? I bet they are! I heard Hermitcraft servers always have huge builds!”
“Yes, and there’s SO FUCKING MANY! WHAT THE HELL!”
“You’ll be able to see them in time, don’t worry!” Grian chuckled, drawing his boat into the shore. “We have a lot of builds, we’re almost a year into this world. These are just our shops! You’re more than welcomed to pick up something if you need it.” He explained breezily, throwing his legs over the sides as he pulled himself to land.
“We’re sure you don’t plan on staying long, and we can’t blame’ya,” Stress added on, as Grian helped pull her out of the spruce boat. “But we’re sure there’s some necessities you’ll need.”
Grian beside her nodded, pulling up his Tablet. “I have shirts and hoodies that should fit you guys, and some other Hermits would happily pitch in. We have more than enough resources to house you two.”
Tommy, who’d already pulled himself and Tubbo out of the boat, slumped, rolling his eyes. “We’re fine. Thanks.” He tackled the last word on half-hazardly, his lips drawn down into a scowl.
“Mate, whenever your server’s ready, we’re happy to get you back. Or get in contact with your Server Admin now, even. You just need to say the word to X, and he’ll take care of it.” Stress looked over the two, her brows pinched as she looked over them.
What in the Sun’s name is happening over there to leave these two so roughed up? She thought idly, noting it in the back of her mind to bring them potions later.
“C’mon, we can get you more situated later, if that’s fine with you two. You both need to eat, asap.”
Food. Right. That’s a thing, Tommy pulled his stares away from the towering structures, naturally slipping his hand back into Tubbo’s.
The two Hermits led their way at a slow and even pace, the two teenagers trailing behind. Tommy and Tubbo both were quietly thankful for this. They were less quiet when it came to Tommy’s rambling, incoherent rants from his attempts of describing the District to his friend.
Whatever works to get them on their way, the pair of Hermits agreed, sharing a look.
It was a struggle all of itself, getting them both on track to the bakery. Tommy had poked his head in every building they crossed, with Tubbo going at an increasingly slow pace, trying to allow their Communicator to describe the complex surroundings.
They made it in decent time to the bakery, all things considered.. Tommy’s jaw dropped at the size of it, bright blue eyes surveying the large, detailed replica of a cake.
“What the fuck! There’s- there’s so many blocks! It looks crumblin’ and bitten! What shit! Tubbo! Tubbo the bakery is a giant fucking cake! It looks so realistic! Holy fucking Prime-”
“It smells so good in here, too! Wow! Does this place just sell cake? Is there enough demand, for that?”
“Wh- are those shulker boxes! What! That’s- that’s like, seven shulker boxes! Is that all just for the shit for sale??? What!”
Both of the teens were incomprehensible. Neither Stress, nor Grian, could get a word in.
“Hey! Guys, both of you, it’s alright, yeah? We have plenty of shulkers. Also, Keralis is..Yeah, probably the richest Hermit, so shulkers for his shop isn’t out of the ordinary at all.
All of us have a buncha shulkers. I’ll clear out some of mine, too, for you to have. It’d make setting up a base much easier, I’m sure.”
...Everyone has shulkers. And he’d be willing to let Tommy and Tubbo just..Have some? No way. Tommy gave a look towards Tubbo, and he could tell the other was as perplexed at the notion as he.
“You guys just.. Just have shulkers- I. Yeah. sure. Rooms with diamond armor and fuckin’ elytras lying around..Right.” Tommy took a breath, fist clenched beside him for a moment.
Tubbo, with their hand holding his arm, above his elbow, gave him a reassuring smile before turning generally towards the Hermits direction. “Thank you, like- so much?” They chuckled, sheepishly. “We really don’t need, like, anything like that. We- we should be getting back to our world soon. Hopefully- uh, probably.”
Grian frowned, humming. “Sure, but I think any Hermit that went even twenty-four hours without working on something, would lose their mind. When you go home, you could give them back. Even if you took them home, I promise that it wouldn’t be a big deal.”
The two teens shared a look. The older brit’s word may sound sincere, but they both knew better than to blindly believe someone, other than each other. Tommy shot a glare to the man, eyes narrowed.
“Yeah, whatever you say.” He scoffed. The dirty blond met his stare, unphased. A relaxed, easy smile remained on their face. Tommy didn’t trust it for a second.
Stress had begun opening some of the shulker boxes, exposing the sweets and goods inside to the starved teens. “C’mon, now.  If you two want to work on some of that later, you can do that. But you’re with us, right now, and it’s time to eat. Grab whatever you’d like, Loves.”
The brunette teen gasped, tugging at the blond boy’s arm. “C’mon Tommy, do you smell that! Oh Void, this place must be lovely! Thank you for bringing us, uh, ma’am! ‘N sir!” Tubbo beams, their smile lopsided.
Tommy glanced around, towards the candy-and-sweets themed furniture in the dining area. Right. Sure. I can deal with this, for Tubbo.
First time doing something like this so here we go I guess?
Hermittober Day 1 - Wings
List by @/ink-ghoul
Since I don’t know how to draw I decided to write! I have some headcanons at the end so ye :D
 It was the start of a new season, season 7, saying he was excited wouldn't even be close to describe how he was feeling. Grian was so, so happy and excited, it's like the last season was all a dream he had, a good dream, he couldn't believe it was real. He was here, he's part of hermitcraft, he is a hermit. And it's awesome, just like when Mumbo told him that Xisuma wanted to talk to him, that he got invited there.
 He was so nervous the first season, even when he was at the war, even when he was the one who started it, he was so scared that he could be stepping over a line. But god it was so much fun, and everyone was so nice.
 He was living in the jungle now, with other hermits as his neighbors, Scar, Mumbo, Stress and Iskall. And it was amazing, as much as he had to get used to mining and grinding again, he loved it, he felt like as the season kept going everyone would focus more and more on their own individual big projects, that this beginning was nice, he would see the others quite a lot and they would chat and help each other and it was just amazing.
 Something he found out is that the meetings they would have, that he thought were monthly meetings just so X could see how everyone was doing, were way more frequent at the beginning of the seasons. So everyone could talk about their plans, if they needed help with anything, plan mining sessions together, or even to just chat about anything, and of course for X to check on them. At first he thought it would be a bit awkward since he really didn't really knew much about all the things they had on hermitcraft or even knew anyone besides Mumbo, but they proved him wrong once again, everyone was so nice to him and he even remember the hermits ‘fighting’ to see who would get introduced first, who would show him around etc.
 They decided to meet up where the shopping district would be, he directed himself to the center of the island where he could already hear some of the voices. As he got closer Mumbo and Scar were the first one to notice him and they started waving at him, he wasn't the last one to appear, some people were still missing from the messages he saw on the communicator.
 He placed himself between Mumbo and Scar as he greeted everyone. He could feel Scar looking at him, so he looked up with a questioning look
 ‘'What's up?’’ Scar seemed a bit embarrassed, and he could feel some of the hermits looking at him too.
 ‘‘Uh- just- uh your wings? They- it's not purple anymore?’’ and he finally realised ‘oh’.
 He could feel Mumbo holding a laugh at his side and he could feel himself blushing a bit out of embarrassment, he put a hand on his neck
 ‘‘Yeah, I- uh I kinda forgot to tell you guys this is actually my bad. But my wings change whenever I’m in a new smp, world or somewhere that I wasn't before. You can say they kinda ‘adapt’ themselves into what I’m doing and working on basically, its weird really, not even I understand much of it I just got used to it’’
 ‘‘So’’ - False started, and he could see how the others were curious but probably afraid to ask, maybe scared of offending him accidentally?- ‘‘Do you know why they were purple before? Or you like- you don't know the reasons?’’
 ‘‘Uh it depends really, like how I said most of it I can try and break it down to why they would look like that, but it's never something certain’’ - he was trying to figure out how to explain things in a way that, hopefully, would help the others understand- ‘‘I think they were that purple color so it could look like an Elytra, I mean it was basically the first time I found out and even had contact with one, and I don't know, maybe because i really didn't know any of you guys? So it was kinda the way my wings found to ‘fit in’ I guess? So they would be similar to everyone else?’’ - as he looked at the others he could see how they were thinking about it, probably processing everything he said or trying to understand his explanation.
 ‘‘Knew’’ He heard Xisuma saying, he looked over to the admin and he could tell he was smiling.
 Grian made a confused sound, he heard other hermits laughing a bit and he heard Mumbo saying under his breath ‘‘oh my god’’
 ‘‘You said you didn't know any of us, but you do now. You’re part of the hermits, you are part of the family now’’
 ‘‘Yeah’’ he felt Scar putting a arm over his shoulders and basically giving him a side hug ‘‘you dont troll someone with a zombie spawner on the first day of the season if you ‘dont know’ them’’
 He couldn't help but laugh ‘‘aw c'mon Scar it was funny, you can't hold that against me the entire season’’.
 He saw Scar putting his other hand under his chin as he pretended like he was considering this possibility ‘‘hmmmm nope! I think i can do that’’
 After that everyone started laughing and the meeting continued, with a lot of them asking about his wings, how they look in other places, and it was fun, it was home, and he's so happy to be part of this family.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some of my headcanons around the wings
Grian - his wings, as said, change depending on where he is. For example if he goes on somewhere his wings already ‘adapted’ themselves then they change to that.
Season 6: light purple wings, similar to the elytra color.
Season 7: parrot wings, the red ones with the yellow and blue details.
Season 8: a very dark blue very similar to black.
Creative worlds: white fluffy wings.
Watchers: he had two pairs of wings, in a darker purple.
Stress - unlike Grian, she can't ‘carry’ the wings outside of Hermitcraft, its a specific thing from Hermitcraft. Like when players have specific skins to specific smps? If that makes sense?
Stress wings are bug themed unlike Grian who has bird ones.
Season 6: dragonfly wins, with very soft light blue and pink.
Season 7: blue morpho butterfly.
Season 8: cicada wings with green and the golden-ish color.
He didn’t hesitate - Dream-ing SMP au
I was one of the people who wanted to see Wilbur blow everything up at the festival, and I also want to see Phil on the Dream SMP, but since he isn’t on the server... what if I mixed these two things that didn’t happen?
~~~~~~~~~~
The Dream-ing SMP au is an au where Wilbur, Techno, Tommy and Tubbo join Phil’s Minecraft hardcore world, right after they joined, Wilbur gets a mysterious fever that makes him sleep for three days, while asleep, he dreams about the Dream SMP. So now, Wilbur will have to deal with the feelings and events that happened in the Dream SMP knowing that he dreamt them himself, All while living in Phil’s peaceful hardcore world.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cw// Jschlatt, Dream SMP festival - Tw// Swearing, TNT, (almost) Drowning, Angst, lots of angst, mention of nightmares?
This is very angsty, just saying, be ready to cry.
~~~~~~~~~~
Enjoy!
“Let the festival begin!” Tubbo exclaimed, everyone wondered why he had said such a line when the festival of Manburg had been going on for almost an hour now, but the line wasn’t meant for them.
From the top of the building he was standing on, he jumped down in broad daylight, running for the back of the hill, “WILBUR SOOT?” Quackity noticed his brown coat instantly, moving the attention of the president to him.
Both Niki’s and Fundy’s screams of his name were drowned by the adrenaline pumping through his blood, he jumped over the fence and dug the dirt covering the room with the button, he looked once more at the sign singing the L’Manburg anthem, sighed, and pressed the button, bolting outside once again, climbing over the hill to get a better view, he yelled “TUBBO, TECHNO, TOMMY RUN!!!” On cue, Techno started up his elytra meanwhile Tommy jumped off the same building Wilbur did.
Tubbo was about to jump off the stage to run towards him, to run in the woods, and finally join him in Pogtopia, but Jschlatt grabbed his arm,” Where are you going Tubbo? Are you following orders from that guy instead of mine?” Tubbo stuttered, Schlatt giggled, “Of course you would, traitor” To the sight of the president of MAnburg grabbing Tubbo’s arm, Tommy turned around and loaded his crossbow, ready to shoot at Schlatt and free his friend, but it was too late.
Everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong in that exact moment.
Techno’s wings got shot, making him fall, Niki kneeled down to help him, the explosions had already made the blackstone stage and the seats in front of it disappear and Tommy, at the sight of his friend disappearing in a cloud of dust, froze still, “TOMMY RUN!!!” Wilbur shouted, running back towards a TNT-danger zone, but the blonde boy had also disappeared in the explosion by now, a cloud of dust engulfed the British boy in the brown coat.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wilbur sat up, sweat, tears, and heavy breathing clouded his mind and plagued his body, looking around frantically, the sober pattern of smooth stone, cobblestone, and oak fences welcomed him to the simple house, purple shulker boxes disposed in a line pointed at a pair of wings and a striped bucket hat, “P-Phil?”.
By the wall of chests, Phil was grabbing materials and mumbling to himself, his name being cried out by Wilbur made him turn around, “Will! Mate! You finally woke- Are you… ok?” The bright smile turned into a more preoccupied expression. Leaving the lists of things he needed on a shulker and sitting next to Wilbur on the red bed, Phil touched his forehead to find out it was boiling and covered in sweat, “You have a fever… that explains it” he mumbled to himself, making Wilbur even more confused.
“Explains what? And why are you here? Why am I here? I’m supposed to be in the Dream SMP Phil!” It was Phil’s turn to stare blankly at Wilbur, “Dream SMP? What are you talking about? Also, why wouldn’t you be here? You came here with Tubbo, Techno, and Tommy a couple of weeks ago now, did you forget about it?” At the sound of the names of his fellow Pogtopians, he asked where they were, to which Phil simply pointed outside.
The two young boys were playing happily with some of the dogs, giggling and running in the morning’s bright sun, a glass building with bees, and a fence full of cows could be seen in the distance.
“Techno left to mine some more netherite for you all, he won’t be back for a while”.
Knowing that everyone was safe made his heart rest a bit, only to get preoccupied with the fact that the older man didn’t know about the SMP “But what about the war? The election?” Phil sighed, getting up from Will’s bed “The fever must be getting to you Wilbur, you are speaking nonsense” Wilbur tried to complain, telling him about Schlatt and how he needed to get L’Manburg back, but Phil simply brought a hand up in a sign for him to stop rambling.
He took a cloth, dipping it into the cauldron and wringing it, going back to the bed, he gently pushed Wilbur down on his back and placed the damp cloth on his steaming forehead, “You slept for three days straight with a fever mate, it’s normal that your mind can get a bit delirious, I’m sure it must have been a pretty intense dream too, you kept shifting and whimpering, I think you cried a couple of times too.” Phil moved away from the bed again
A… dream? The Dream SMP was all… a dream?”
“Here, drink this” he helped Wilbur sit up-right again, giving him a glass of water, he started gulping down the liquid.
But it was all so detailed… he could feel the heat of the sun and the warmth of the other players…  he could feel the pain with each arrow and fall… everything looked and felt so real!
“Not to be a dick Will, but the sweat is starting to dry, if you don’t go wash you’ll start stinking soon” Phil interrupted his train of thoughts, “Plus, the water today isn’t cold, just a bit chilly, it’ll do you good, collecting your thoughts and waking you up… you might want to consider” Wilbur nodded, giving the blonde man back the glass after murmuring out a thanks for the water and the suggestion.
Getting up, the world started spinning, forcing him to sit back down. He waited a minute or so before slowly standing up again and leaning on the wall for support, his body did feel like he had been asleep for three days, his legs were holding him but they shook. As he looked down at them he realized that he was wearing his old skin: white tee, black jacket, and black trousers, it was definitely more comfortable than the L’Manburg and the Pogtopia skin.
Clicking the button to open the iron door, the bright sunlight blinded him briefly, while his eyes adjusted, some cheers in the distance brought him back to when it was just them, right after Eret betrayed them, Tommy, Tubbo, and himself, rebuilding the blown up L’Manburg while goofing around… the sunlight was just as warm.
The ocean surrounding most of Phil’s house was clear, you could see the bottom, the fishes and the sea lanterns.
Thank god in Minecraft you didn’t have to worry about your clothes getting wet, you could just jump in, feel the water on your skin, and be completely dry a few seconds after getting out.
So he did just that, taking a deep breath and inhaling as much oxygen as he could, he let his trembling legs give out and fall into the water.
In a second, everything went quiet, the cool water washed over him, getting rid of stress, sweat, and the effects of the fever, he felt reborn.
Just as he did when Dream gave him the TNT.
His forehead wrinkled, how was it all a dream? Tommy and Tubbo looked so peaceful while playing earlier, there is no way that they would have looked like that if the SMP happened, and Phil didn’t know anything about it? At this point, it had to have been a dream…
So if… hypothetically speaking… the Dream SMP… the wars… the betrayals… the election… the festival… If they were all a dream…
Did he create all of those situations? Did he think about Eret betrayal, all of those explosions, Schlatt winning, him and Tommy running into the woods…
Did he think about killing his friends? About making them fight in combat?
He made them suffer… he dreamt about making his friends suffer!
What kind of person does that?! What kind of friend dreams about those things?!
A faint voice called out his name, but his vision started to get darker… he was out of oxygen, but he was too occupied calling himself a monster… he was terrified of his mind… he was…
“WILBUR!!!”
In the last moment of consciousness, a shadow covered the few rays of sun filtered by the water while warm arms wrapped around him, pulling him upwards, then everything faded.
“WERE YOU NOT LOOKING OVER HIM??” “No- I didn’t think he would have just sunk to the bottom like a rock! He looked fine!” “Is he breathing?” “If-... He-... doesn’t-... soon-!”
As if a rock fell on his chest, Wilbur gasped for air as water rose up his throat, using his elbow as support as he coughed out the water that ended up in his lungs. He could feel the presence of people next to him, but he was too tired to turn and see who they were.
As he started breathing air again, he collapsed back on his back, the lights shined on the worried faces of Tommy, Phil, and Tubbo who where standing behind the man that was sitting on his knees in front of him, he was also panting and his clothes were also wet, after focusing on his face harder, he was able to see that it was Technoblade.
He gave him cpr...
“Will? Can you-... hear me? See me?” He nodded, Techno sighed in relief, using his hands to help himself up straight, he allowed Phil to kneel down next to Wilbur, sitting next to him up and cupping his face, “What the fuck crossed your mind, Wilbur?! Why would you not swim up to breathe?!”
He wasn’t paying too much attention to Phil, his eyes were focused on Tubbo that was holding his mouth, and Tommy who was hugging him, eyes clearly puffy from crying.
Then, behind the two teens, Technoblade emerged back from the water, with his royal red cape in a hand, and his shiny crown in the other.
Techno jumped in the water without taking his cape off…
The voice he heard calling his name in fear was Techno’s…
Techno saw Wilbur in the water and jumped in without taking his cape and crown off…
At that point, Wilbur started crying, gripping on Phil’s shoulder as hard as he could.
In the Dream SMP Techno did not hesitate to agree on helping Wilbur in his maniacal plan, without fear of his reputation getting damaged or getting his hands dirty…
… Just like he didn’t hesitate to jump in the water, even with the risk of damaging his cape and losing his crown.
Chapter three for Surprisingly Familiar. It’s time to get to the real plot of this thing!
@petrichormeraki is the maker of the hermit Tommy au, @helleborusangel likes to read these and give me their rambles which are my beloved, and then check my tumblr for my masterpost of things I’ve made.
“Hey Paul, you’re done talking with X, right?” Bdubs asked as he noticed Paul walking by.
“Uh, yeah. He said he could let a guest in for a little bit because he needs to talk with Phil and Phil’d rather stay here instead of coming to the castle.”
“Yeah yeah, sounds great.” Bdubs sad, waving it off. “Hey, new question. Paul what the heck was that back there?!” He shouted, making a number of hermits look over.
“Hey, calm down, keep things off tap.” Paul tried to calm the hermit down, but it didn’t work that much.
“Oh this is Hermitcraft. We don’t do things on tap. Except Tommy but that’s different. Now, what were you doing back there?” And Bdubs pointed towards the room Paul and Phil had talked in. From the crowd, Jrum felt a little nervous, wondering if it was something he did, but the answer calmed the bot.
“Calm down. It was something Hoodie taught me. I’m sure Zedaph can back me up.”
Behind Bdubs, Zed stopped slurping from a coffee cup that was actually filled with a slushie. “Yeah, don’t worry he’s fine. No necromancy.”
“See? I just wanted a private conversation.” Paul replied, though Bdubs still looked grumpy.
“Alright, don’t make me call in Genny.” And Bdubs signalled that he was watching Paul before walking off. As he left, Scar took his place, seeming pretty confused.
“So, what’s with him?”
Paul sighed. “He’s not a fan of certain types of magic. I did a bit of necromancy for a time and there was someone else in the world who essentially became a dark lord, so Bdubs and some others became witch hunters.”
“Huh, That’s not something I would have guessed.” Scar said. “I mean, I’m a wizard and he’s been fine with me.”
Paul looked a little stunned. “Oh really? Didn’t realize. What style are you? My friend Hoodie is coming in for a quick visit. He’s ars based.”
Scar laughed a little. “Is that so? Haven’t seen many of those. I’ve got a mix. Vex magic and crystalline. Cub’s also a user of vex magic.”
Paul nodded. “That’s nice. How many magic users you got around here?”
The hermit mayor started to count on his fingers. “So there’s me and Cub. Pretty sure Stress has some. Cleo’s definitely got some magic. Grian of course. Uh, not sure if Joe does or not. I think Xisuma’s just-”
“Xel- er, Grian’s got some magic?”
“Yeah. And I guess the kids probably do too. Not sure right now.” Scar said, before looking Paul in the eye. “You're not going to freak out about Grian having magic, right? You’ve already got him upset which gets us upset.”
“Yeah, I know.” Paul sighed. “Just been through a lot. I get overly worried sometimes, and to me, I suddenly hear that ‘kid involved in murders is now causing wars in the world my friends are in.’ So yeah, sort of thought the worst.”
Scar inhaled sharply. “Okay, yeah. I can see what made you freak out. But Grian’s fine. He’s been through a lot and while technically he’s caused chaos, it’s never something we hate and normally we’re all in on it somehow.”
“Is that so?”
“Yeah, you should hear about the sewer cats.”
“Can’t wait to hear about it. Haven’t seen any letters about it.”
Scar nodded, before being just a little confused. “So, is there a reason you’re always using letters instead of other stuff? I’m sure some of the others could make you something that would work.”
Paul nodded. “I don’t doubt that they could for the most part. I just deal with a lot of factors and have always preferred the tried and true method. I’m all over the place and sometimes I can only really bring along paper.”
“What do you do?” Scar asked, interest piqued.
“Let’s see. Not sure if Phil’s told you, but he used to be king.” Scar nodded. It wasn’t Phil, but Grian had mentioned it. “Well, I’m one as well. Hoodie’s my right hand man and royal mage.”
“Ah, and you said he’s the one visiting?”
“Yeah. So I end up busy there a lot. I also spend a lot of my time visiting my kids so I’m going from world to world. Then, there’s also my wife and she’s in the world we raised the kids in which is essentially my main home.”
“And that’s what?”
“Uh, the same one I found Xe- sorry, Grian in ages ago.” Paul answered. “And I’ve got a job there that doesn’t really work with comms sometimes, but paper is easy enough to have on hand, especially enchanted paper.” And Paul took out a sheet of paper, handing it to Scar.
Scar took the paper and looked it over. As he moved it, he could see how the light caught the slightly physical aspect of the magic, much like how enchantments could be seen. “This looks good. You can hardly see the magic but I can tell it’s there. What all is on here?”
“Mostly stuff to get it to the right recipient and make it illegible if you’re trying to read it and it’s not for you.”
“Ah. That’s a commonly known one for ars mages, right?” Scar asked. “I haven’t heard much about them.”
Paul nodded. “Yeah. That’s due to the mage wars. They happened a number of years back before Hoodie was alive. He’s the main reason things are sort of getting back to normal for those guys.” Paull pulled out an old communicator which looked like it was being held together with duct tape and prayers. “He should be here pretty soon. He said he was only going to get a few books and amulets. And your admin said he would be able to get in.”
Almost as soon as Paul had said something, a message went out that someone new had joined the world. Xisuma sent a message that he would go to help the guest to Aque Town and from there Paul and Scar just waited for the two others to arrive. Xisuma was the first to arrive, gliding down on his elytra. The other person wore a royal purple hooded robe and seemed to arrive with the use of an ender pearl, but Scar didn’t see them use one.
Paul was the first to move, going over to the other person. “Hoodie! You made it!”
With the confirmation that this was the mage coming in, Scar followed along, a bit excited to meet someone new with magic. “Of course Sir. You did ask for my presence.”
Scar watched as Paul put an arm around Hoodie’s shoulder. “You don’t need to be so formal here. In fact, here. This is Scar. He’s the mayor, and based on the kind of place this is, I’d say he’s the local hedgewizard.”
“Ah, I see. It is nice to meet you. My name is Hoodie. I am King Soares’ right hand man and royal mage.”
Scar shook Hoodie’s hand, getting a slight shock. “It’s nice to meet you too. Paul already said I’m Scar. I’m guessing you’re a lightning mage or something?”
Hoodie took his hand back. “Ah, sorry about that. Yes I am. Or at least I specialize in it. Same as my father lest he’s recently changed his affinity.”
“Well I don’t know enough about your kind of magic to know what that really means.”
Paul walked away as the two magic users started to discuss their various forms of magic and wizardry. He needed to find Phil again since the main reason Hoodie was even there was so that Phil could get more of the enchanted paper. Not wanting to drag the mage away, Paul was instead going after his brother since he was the one insisting he wouldn’t take any of it without knowing for sure it was enchanted by Hoodie. After that, Hoodie would help out a bit around the world as repayment for Xisuma letting him on, then the two of them would head back home. At least, that was the plan.
. .
.
Drawing him away from the nest was almost laughably easy. Grian and Mumbo were both asleep and the chicken was theoretically trapped. At least trapped enough it wasn’t going to escape into the room itself. And then it could only see out the window and not into the room which was a big plus. Because of that, it was simple enough to have viridian magic surround the prison and really ensure the chicken wouldn’t be getting out.
“You know.” The person spoke in a whisper, making Grian twitch ever so slightly in his sleep, but not wake up. “You’re really making this far too easy. I thought it would be difficult with those guests of yours here, but it turns out everyone’s distracted by them. And they put you in such a perfect position. Let’s just move you to somewhere a bit more private, hmm?”
Grian of course didn’t wake up, but as the person left, a bit more magic appeared around Grian, and then a few moments later, he woke up with a start. Grian looked around, glad to see there was only Mumbo and a box in the corner. For a moment he was confused about it, but faint clucking from inside helped him figure out what it was. But something still felt off.
Grian went to shake Mumbo awake, but he hesitated a moment before actually waking him up. “Mumbo. Mumbo!” And Mumbo woke up from his name being shouted, looking around to see what was going on. “Mumbo, I think we’ve been up here too long. Something feels wrong.”
Mumbo pulled out his communicator to look at the time. “Oh dear! It does look like we have been here a while. It also looks like someone else has shown up.”
“Really?” Grian asked, pulling his own comm out to look at the message. “There’s no way this person would just happen to show up today of all days for no reason. What if they’re someone else with… I want to check on the kids.”
Mumbo stood up and then helped Grian to his feet. “Don’t worry. I’m sure if anything happened, the other hermits would be taking care of the boys. We can of course check on them, but you don’t want your panic to make them panic.”
Grian nodded and from there the two of them went back down to the ground floor, leaving Kokatori behind. Finding the new person was rather easy as he and Scar were both standing on the street of Aque Town facing each other. Scar was currently donning his wizard robe over his Aque Town outfit. In his hands, he held a number of crystals that Grian thought he was never going to see again.
The other person was wearing a purple robe and held a wand in one hand and a book with a yellow cover in the other. His hood had fallen back slightly, so Grian was able to see as the other person glanced over at him when he got closer. Normally the avian would assume it was just because he was getting close and was noticed, but there was some sort of emotion in the eyes that made Grian worry.
Both of them had their attention pulled away from each other as Scar moved, a yellow glow around him as he moved like he had a speed effect. When he reached the other person, Grian watched as the Scar’s netherite sword struck them, and then a ring of white magic appeared around them, acting as a shield against further attacks.
Realizing at this point that the two were fighting, Grian moved to try and stop them, but then out of nowhere, lightning struck the ground in front of him, making him stop. When Grian looked back up, both mages were looking over to him and then Scar called out. “Hey, don’t worry! We’re just doing some sparring! It was my idea!”
“Are you sure? Who even is this?”
“His name’s Hoodie. Royal mage of Paul it looks like.”
“Are you sure that’s a good idea?” Grian asked, concerned.
“Yeah, it just sounds like he was jumping to conclusions when he saw you. I’m sure it’s going to be fine if you talk to him again.”
Grian wasn’t completely convinced, but pretended enough for Scar to look back at Hoodie and then continue their sparring. Slowly, the avian started moving to where everyone else probably was, still in the party building. Mumbo followed him along, but eventually he passed Grian when the builder decided to actually watch the magic battle.
Scar seemed to mainly be using regular combat, but enhanced by his crystals which actually seemed to be doing something. Hoodie, on the other hand, was using his wand and casting a number of spells from his book. At one point, Grian watched the mage fumble a little bit to pull out a book with a green cover before casting a new spell that he hadn’t used yet.
Grian didn’t realize he was just standing there alone, and the magicians weren’t really paying much attention to him, but in the span of a few seconds, that all changed. To anyone watching, it would seem like it happened all at once, but really it was just one thing after the other.
Grian was barely aware of the space around him getting the slightest tint of green to it. As soon as that had happened, Hoodie turned away from Scar and instead faced Grian, pulling out a new red spell book. Scar was the next to react, still under the effects of his yellow crystal. He started to pull out a red crystal, accidentally pulling a pink one out at the same time. He threw them towards Grian just as Hoodie began to cast some magic aimed at Grian, but also in the direction of what would be in the path of the crystals.
Seeing multiple things coming his way, Grian started to panic, wings moving to act as a shield since he currently wasn’t holding one. As they moved, the tips of his wings started to change from red to purple, the shift in color working its way to the base of the wings. He couldn’t react fast enough to block everything, but the magic hit both of the crystals, making them shatter into dust. The pink and red dust didn’t completely stay their original colors, some of them charred by the magic attack that hit them, but each tiny piece seemed to glow with its own energy, and even with the, being broken so small, when the cluster hit Grian, there was enough force to make him crash to the ground.
For everyone not watching at that moment in time, they simply heard a large crack of thunder at the same time there was shattering glass, followed by screaming from Grian. Within a matter of seconds, people were racing out of the nearby building, there to see what had happened.
When people got out onto the street, Scar was yelling at Hoodie. “What was that?! Grian wasn’t involved! I thought I could actually- I can’t see why Bdubs actually trusted- I’m guessing he’s changed a lot since-”
“Please, I was just trying to defend myself. He was about to attack me. Didn’t you see it?”
“He was just watching us!”
“No. Your back was turned so you maybe didn’t see it.”
“I should have used a brown crystal too. What kind of spell was that?!” As they yelled, Xisuma was the first to get over to the pair to try and figure out what was going on, getting an answer from Scar. “That Paul guy’s mage just attacked Grian! If I hadn’t done something, it might have killed him!”
“What?” Paul asked, coming over. “Hoodie what just happened?”
The mage looked over to Paul, ignoring Scar and X. “Sir, the hedgewizard and I were simply having a duel to see each other's magic skills. As we battled, this avian mage came by and tried to stop us once. Of course Scar was able to prevent that the first time, but then the mage tried to cast a spell of attack. I was already using a spell to help my reaction time, as was the wizard here, so I began to cast a counterspell. At first I thought Scar was also about to assist me, but instead he seemed to try and stop my spell, causing our magic to collide. It seems to have still-” Hoodie tried to continue, but Paul held up a hand to stop him.
Paul then tried to speak himself, but then his shoulder was ground and he was whirled around by Phil. “Paul, what the fuck? Did you just have your wizard attack Grian?”
“What? No, of course I wouldn’t! It sounds like Grian was trying to attack Hoodie and he defended himself.”
“Yeah sure. Mate, just tell me the truth.”
“I’m just telling you what Hoodie told me. I know just as much as you do at this point other than what he told me.”
Again, the conversation was cut off by Mumbo speaking up, having joined the group. “Grian’s really hurt. His breathing is off and it looks like his wings were hurt enough for them to shift away. There’s also something else, but I can’t place it. Xisuma, can you look at him?”
Everyone moved out of the way for the admin to head towards Grian, but as soon as he took a step, everyone had their comms buzz with two messages. Xisuma peeked over the crowd to look where Grian had been a minute ago. He wasn’t currently lying there, but neither were any items that signified him having died and respawned. That could have been because he had nothing on him at the point, which was unlikely, but could have been what happened.
That being said, the shocked gasps from people who were looking at their comms didn’t assure Xisuma, so the admin pulled up the chat logs on his helmet. Instead of there being a death message for Grian, there were two messages of people leaving the world.
The_Grifter left the world Xelqua left the world.
Okay, alright, okay, I need to think about this. Very interesting stuff today
[Everything I say is about the characters, not the CC’s. Just wanted to make that clear :D]
So Quackity wants Dream to write a letter to Techno, to visit the prison..? I can only assume it’s some plan to like... sabotage the prison or kill Techno in some way? Why else would he do it really. But will Techno even be interested in seeing Dream at all? That is the question. Dream said that Techno is like an ally to him, but I’m not sure if Techno really sees it that way. I know that at least Phil didn’t, from the exchange he had with Ranboo after doomsday.
I’ll come back round to the Foolish thing in a bit, skipping that for now
So... Quackity has an elytra?? How?? Like in lore, how. Where did he get it from? He crashed it, so maybe that implies he doesn’t know how to use it very well. But how did he get it at all? And then he was planting tnt in his own building..? What’s up with that now? Like why. Was it because of the chef that they talked about before? I’m confused on that part.
But then there’s the Charlie thing. He seems to be uhh, like he’s been around for a while but he doesn’t really know what’s going on? Cause like clearly he knows a little bit. He mentioned Quackity, he knows about Las Nevadas, and he also mentioned a “purple guy”, presumably Purpled. Are we to assume then that Purpled ends up joining Quackity? Why else would he be in that cafeteria talking to him? That’s how I’m seeing it. But Charlie also mentioned Tommy (“red shirt, blond hair”) and Wilbur, but the way he talks about Wilbur is interesting. Because he described him as “guy that was dead but isn’t anymore” which means that he knows that Wilbur being alive is like, not a normal thing? Like that Wilbur was dead at one point but is no longer, and that’s a significant thing. I wonder how long he’s been around for in order to know that. But he also refers to Quackity as “Quackity of Las Nevadas” which means he’s likely only seen him from that point of view, as opposed to from within L’Manburg. So how does he know that Wilbur being alive is significant? Perhaps he just overheard it from Tommy or something. I’ll be interested to see what role he plays from here, with Quackity calling him an “accidental spy”.
Next up, there’s the stuff with Purpled. So all of that was kinda like, past stuff I think. It starts before the banquet, and Quackity and Sam have this plan to get Purpled on their side. Purpled is definitely an enigma, they had no idea how to contact him at all. And it seems like Purpled was one of the first to see Las Nevadas as an outsider (which wait, didn’t Quackity tell the same thing to Foolish? Interesting...)
So after the Banquet, they met back up. And Quackity has this plan, it seems. He destroys Purpled’s UFO to kind of like, erase his legacy, if you will. So that Purpled can either take the money and go, and let himself be erased from history, or he can join Quackity. And Purpled definitely seems pissed for sure. I think we can assume that he joins them in the end, from what Charlie said before. That whole exchange was a risky play from Quackity, he seemed afraid that Purpled was just gonna kill him right there.
Then there’s the Fundy thing. He’s moved a fair distance away to try and escape his dreams, but we saw how well that worked out. He seems to dream of things that are gonna happen? So it’s likely that the whole conversation we saw with Quackity in the dream is very similar or exactly what he actually said. I think it’s really cool that the Quackity stream kinda became a vessel to help with Fundy’s story as well, with that whole section being from Fundy’s POV
I think it’s cool how that whole area was kind of a mashup of all the different eras of L’Manburg, from the camarvan and the old walls, to the new era main platform and the festival decorations. I also really liked how they showed Eret’s tower in a state of decay, almost as if a lot of time has passed. I just think that whole area was really cool.
While brief, I really enjoyed the little Wilbur section. Wilbur found the letter and it led him to Las Nevadas. I remember seeing people point out how in that scene, Wilbur was still stood above Quackity, looking down on him, and how that represents their dynamic. Quackity has always looked up to Wilbur (both metaphorically and physically in this scene) and that dynamic seems to be prevailing now. I also wonder if Wilbur really needed all the stone he asked Tommy to collect, or if that was just a tactic to get Tommy out of the way. While it being just a tactic is a possibility, I think that Wilbur has more up his sleeve than just that.
So now we’re gonna talk about Foolish. Cause woo boy there’s a lot there.
First of all, Sam was likely suspicious of Foolish because of what he saw with the egg boys, when they blew up his statue. The lightning, totem of death, all that. It seems like he knows more as well, Foolish’s past. But Quackity wants to use that power for himself, so he goes to speak to Foolish.
Now what I think is interesting here is that he says he let Foolish die there. Now, Foolish kinda like, stepped in during the Banquet to protect Eret. So, would Quackity have let Eret die if Foolish hadn’t stepped up? That’s what really interested me there.
Foolish, of course, was rightfully pissed about that. Seemed like he was gunning to take a shot at Quackity with the trident, but he backed off at the last second. They argue for a bit and then Quackity leaves.
During his own stream, Foolish seemed to still be thinking about what Quackity said. Even when stood in his green beam, he still wasn’t sure. He visits Las Nevadas and gets a tour from Quackity. And wow is that place cool. He must’ve had help building that, right? From Sam at least. That’s a lot to work on by yourself. I really loved the needle thing that Quackity said he lives in, as well as the fountains out front. I see why people had to avoid that area for so long, very cool to see for the first time. And I’m sure that when we see the inside of the casino, that’s gonna be a whole other can of impressive.
One of the lines I thought was interesting was when Quackity said “I take care of the people who take care of me... why do you think I have nobody?”
Like, ouch... he really did kinda lose all his connections didn’t he. We can also see that when Foolish talks about Kinoko Kingdom and asks if Quackity knows of Karl and he just kinda looks at him... man.
At the end of that stream, Foolish says he’ll have an answer for Quackity tomorrow, so I’ll be keeping an eye out for that. Then we see Fundy approach, and the stream ends. So... presumably Fundy will also be a part of Las Nevadas. But it’s possible Wilbur will also be getting involved soon... y’all there’s some angst potential there, I’ll say that much.
That’s it for that whole chunk of lore. I know Ranboo did some stuff and I’ll probably talk about that in another post soon cause this one is really long, but yeah. That’s my thoughts.
