speaking of, i saw old oti’s letter & it had me going insane imagining a grieving sunday and what acting out of line could/will do, considering the control (a key component of sunday’s when we take his leaked personality into accoumt) over his emotions is fraying, but such only emphasizes that he wants to take control of the situation regarding robin’s death. now, i saw this in between loading screens in-game, and they’re mentioned, but the dreammaster is the true mastermind behind penacony, and old oti warns sunday to act with caution. actually, i wrote a little something to help me summarize old oti’s letter:

The Dreammaster, being higher in rank, is the one who is displeased with his actions. Sunday is the head of the Oak family, but from what we’ve seen, this role does not exert his control over things; it only exerts control over him.

speculations (this is a LONG ask, op i’m sorry)

honestly… perhaps i’m reaching for the moon, never mind that i don’t know how to articulate this properly so if anyone’s out there, please help me make sense of this or clear away the “yapping” spectacle i’m about to showcase here.

but looking back at this summary, this kind of bears a resemblance to ena the order and their assimilation into xipe (aeon of harmony), who the family follows. we already know that xipe is comprised of many entities, ena being “enormous in size” as a part compared to the others xipe has assimilated yet nevertheless “swallowed”. in relation, sunday is only one of the local leaders of penacony as robin said, and oti warns he could get impeached, right? he’s still a part of the whole despite his notable influence. . . . i can’t stress how much i feel i can explain this better.

matter of fact, ena has similar traits to sunday (albeit initial personality leaks) as it is. mentioned to be a “control freak” (herta tells trailblazer, “they could not tolerate any disorder”), to be “absolute, just, and magnificent” (tying this back into sunday being halovian, how they “seem born into the love and admiration of other species and peoples”), to be all-seeing (both have eye motifs, sunday knew about firefly’s death).

even more of a stretch, but ena is a puppet and if we go back to sunday taking after them. well. are you picking up what i’m putting down? (hint: it’s a death flag. after all, to be controlled…and for the family to be fixated on a collective ambition versus an individual’s desire that’s interfering with such ambitions. this isn’t their harmony. his dedication to robin can be considered self-serving, and so doesn’t align with their goals . . . mind overloaded. no more can be said at this time.)

tldr: “it’s all nonsensical! / what is it saying! / i can’t make sense of it either.” the skeptic in me loves looking for nothing …

This reminds me of this theory I saw (I encourage everyone to read it bc it’s so incredibly thought out and all the connections made by op are insane).

The person who made that theory noted that Ena is probably way more involved with The Family than we thought. They also came to three conclusions, one of which is Sunday being used as a sacrifice.

Adding to the sacrifice thing I’m once again reminded of the Dominicus-Sunday theory that Dominicus might possess him/take over his body.

Much to think about… food for thought… something to chew on even if the flavor is foul…

For once I actually do have a WIP in the works (an AU where Scully is an astronaut, also a prequel to Purplerow by my friend @katy-kt-katie), progress on which got stalled when my apartment building burned down (long story) so we'll see if I can find a line for every prompt (some of them might be stretching it a bit but idc lol):

Family:

The colony had been established for research purposes, so the survivors consisted of some three hundred assorted biochemists, geologists, physicists, botanists, and the like, as well as their spouses and children— those few that had them, and also were able to convince them to uproot their lives and make a new home on another world. Ironically, they now had to do so yet again, although not by choice.

Passionate: (maybe not the kind of passion y'all had in mind but it's what i've got lmao)

Dana knelt to the ground to collect a soil sample. “It’s just that– we’re on Mars. We might find fossilized evidence of microscopic life today. I don’t wanna think about my problems with Ed. I wanna think about how much I love my job.”

Dread:

A skittering noise came from behind her. “Dana?” No sound but her heavy breathing in her ears. “Dana, are you still there?” She slowly turned around, hopping on one foot. “Dana? Dana!”

Relief: don't really have one for this and i'm too tired to dive through my other fics looking for one lol but i already had five different prompts so this was technically a bonus hehe

Screamed:

Dana looked down just in time to see a web of thin cracks spider outwards beneath her boots with an ominous crumbling sound. Before she could process what was happening, the ground gave way from under her and she cried out in alarm as she plunged down into a fathomless darkness.

Funny:

“Scully? Earth to Commander Scully, come in please!” Dana rolled her eyes. “That’s not funny, Monica.” A chuckle sounded over the other end of the comm system. “Sorry, Dana, I couldn’t help it. Seriously, though, are you okay? You kinda spaced out for a second there– no pun intended.” “Yeah, sorry, I was just thinking about Ed again. When did he start being such an ass? That was a rhetorical question,” she added before Monica could respond. “Being on this mission has not been good for his ego.” “His ego isn’t good for his ego. He wouldn’t even be on this mission at all if he wasn’t so good at his job, and everybody knows it. You could do so much better than him, you know that?”

one day i woke up in a cold sweat after a really intense dream with eren. ive never had a dream that realistic before lol it literally changed my life. i ended up not sleeping for the next two days doing nothing but reading and writing eren fanfiction hehe… that was in april of last year, and i still think about that dream to this day, i get some dreams with eren but nothing like the first one heuheeh

definitely mutual pining!! though eren has much more intense feelings before we get into a relationship :P i imagine he doesn’t know how to stop his feelings from spiraling so he falls HARD.

eren’s crush is painfully obvious. he’ll be all sweet and gentle with me but then be a complete asshole to someone asking a basic question. yet his crush is very subtle at the same time? for example, he’ll insist on sitting next to me or brush up against me but he’ll be very nonchalant about it. before we started dating this would stress me out so much xD

6. who confesses their feelings first?

its a stand off!!! neither one of us would admit to it, i think it would gradually develop into a relationship over time. but if anyone were to confess, i think i would imply it first and… just wait until eren pieces it together in his head. i’d tell him something like “you’d be a great boyfriend,” and then three days later he’d be like… “wait. do you like me???”

7. what are your star signs? are you two compatible?

i am a taurus, eren is an aries. though im not sure if we’re compatible bc multiple sources say yes and others say no lol… i will say for the sake of argument that we have a very… fiery relationship hehe

i headcanon eren to be really into music so a few albums for his record player would be an option! or a little dinosaur or fnaf plushie ^_^ i also headcanon that eren collects pokemon cards so i would get him some! hehe these are all headcanons on what i think eren would like

- Lies we Tell Ourselves by Robin Talley, an interracial lesbian story set in the US during the segregation

- Dracula by Bram Stoker. Seriously if you haven’t read it yet do so it’s amazing. I love seeing all the Dracula daily memes now, when I read it years ago most ppl just knew some movies that have nothing to do with the original plot and the original is great!

- Erebos by Ursula Poznanski. That one just… I couldn’t put it down, it’s so thrilling and good.

ahhh omg okay,, I’m literally so excited so sorry if I’m gonna rant a lot 😭

I’m also tagging @parkeryangs bc you commented on the post and wanted to know more.

Okay, so the first story is about Felix Bentley and Isaac Milton and they live in this small town located in the mountains. A bit of a backstory on these two:

felix was bullied in school bc he’s trans and Isaac was bullied bc his grandpa supposedly killed his three brothers and now Isaac lives in the villa where his grandpa apparently hid the bodies. So they are both outsiders and start to befriend each other. Also they are obsessed with this card game that’s like dnd meets yugioh (kind of) (actually Isaac was the one obsessed with it but he kinda dragged felix into it).

Fast forward a few years the boys come back from college and open a record store until the day where they get the notification that they got the job at the graveyard and that from now on the have to take the graveyard shift there. Felix is not amused™️! But he goes bc Isaac does and by god Felix knows he can’t let that boy go there on his own.

So at first they thought that they just had to watch over the graves and light candles and make sure that no one vandalizes the cemetery, but soon they find out they actually have to guard the ghosts and stop them from leaving the cemetery to haunt the people in the town for revenge and well fulfill their last wishes.

Good thing, that they have magic that helps them to guard the ghosts, right? Right????

Now some facts about the boys:

Felix:

Isaac gave him the name

recently had top surgery (he’s not on T and doesn’t want to be)

He stool Isaac’s hoodies to hide his chest and still does it out of habit (and bc he has a major crush on Isaac but no one is allowed to know so pssssst!!!)

he’s the Spiritfarer in the card game they play: that means he’s a spell caster and can make deals with ghosts

He gets the aux in Isaac’s car bc his music taste is superior

Isaac:

kinda emo, kinda loud

he’s blind on his right eye

he always packs an extra hoodie for Felix

apparently his family owns the graveyard????

in the card game he is the ghost king: he can rule and judge over the ghosts, he’s also a good swordsman

Man never shuts up, he’s probably ranting about something to Felix right now

used to have a crush on Felix, but he’s over that now, he’s totally chill, absolutely not insane about his best friend, totally cool and collected yeah idk what you are talking about

And the second story that takes place in the same town in about Rocky (they/he), Checkers, Halvor and Fluffkins (Leo). This is the story about Rocky and Checkers who ran away to find the lead singer of their fav rock/punk band Kill Switch that disbanded in the 90s under mysterious circumstances.

I haven’t fully developed their story yet but!!!!

Halvor is the lead singer of that band and he kinda takes in Rocky and Checkers. Oh and on the run Rocky and Checkers actually kill a man, that apparently happened. Also Halvor becomes something like their dad. And Fluffkins (Leo) is Halvor’s cat which was actually named Leo but Checkers deemed the name as boring and renamed him to Fluffkins (Fluffkins also imprinted on Rocky so good luck with that).

Halvor also kisses a demon when they work together with Felix and Isaac. Halvor in general is the bi king we all deserve to have in our lives!!!

I'm not through with the comics yet so I'm skipping a lot of posts for now (I already have had the Worst Spoiler from elsewhere though so) but yeah anyway I saw your tags about Dream only eating dream food and I'm just. Wondering. If the food is in the Dreaming, it's part of the Dreaming, correct? Except the Dreaming is also Dream, like, he's part of him he's part of it etc idk? So... If he eats Dreaming Food™... is that like the thing on the show with Gregory and he's in a way just. Reabsorbing bits of himself into his uhhh more concentrated Self. Is he eating a part of himself. Net zero food acquisition, that food was already him to begin with. What is he doing. (Possibly I am overthinking this and possibly you are the wrong person to ask this! Please do not feel any obligation to respond to this in any way, and have a good whatever time of day it is for you!)

and, it sort of is, in the sense that all dreams are Dream in some form, but in that sense the endless are all self perpetuating anyway (and they don't have mortal bodies, there's no reason why our food would be particularly good fuel, i think the ones who eat it just do so because they like it)

dream, meanwhile, can eat waking world food? he just hates it

(interestingly he seems to have less of a problem with drinks, he's turned down every bit of food he's ever been offered no matter how impolite it was to do so at the time, but he'll order drinks in his meetings with hob, and he drank coffee once with his brother)

but to your actual question - he doesn't have to eat food that just he created. we don't get this in the show but in the comic when he gets out of the cage the very first thing he does is search other people's dreams for the first one with food in, because he does still get hungry and he hasn't eaten since uh. 1915

so like. there's dream magic and then there's Dream's magic. gregory had to happen because he had none of his own magic left (Stuff Happened, before he got captured, which is spoilers for overture, but the only reason he got caught in burgess' trap at all is he'd used up most of his own magic and wasn't strong enough to resist what was actually a fairly weak summoning spell. death wasn't summoned bc she would have barely even noticed it being cast), so if he wanted to actually start using his magic to fix things, he would have either had to wait for it to recuperate naturally (would have taken a long time if it happened at all, given the state the dreaming was in), or he had to artificially boost it

but the dreams of mortals are still there - that's also what he does to summon the fates, he has nothing of his own to offer them so he takes from the collective dreaming

and in terms of just keeping his body going, that food works fine

(and like. dream is a being created out of the dreams of mortals anyway, so it makes sense that those dreams are his source of energy)

(normally he doesn't have to steal it though, that was a very desperate situation, he has palace cooks who are capable of dreaming literally any food on request)

(as shown when he has delirium over for dinner and he orders a fairly ordinary meal and she orders freshly squeezed mango juice and "some little chocolate people, about three inches high, filled with raspberry cream")

shiori is either n//aoyas twin but they weren’t really close as kids and aren’t close now so there isn’t much to that?? (or maybe they were but now its strained due to yk succession who gets to be heir i am not quite sure about that yet!! oo it would give s//uccesiion but make it j//jk OO!!!!!) ORR she’s the older sib of m*ai and m*aki?? and still candidate of heir (?) in that as well?)

BUT ANYWAY..!!!! she was an old classmate of g/ojo and the besties (was maybe in either his year or n/anami and kannas year?) AND BESTEST BUDS. its giving childhood sweethearts to lovers yk? CUUTE.

fast forward t*oji passes….ish. right she and him after they grad they raise her nephew together (he even has a room at her apartment they’ve been SUUPER married but never got together what gives yk?? ILL EXPLAIN 💀) so her career skyrocketed (as an actress?? model? both????) and so things got busy BUUT like they’ve baaasically been living together and raising two youngins (minako and t*oji have a daughter aya <3) they hang out like ALL THE TIME……. and yet not married 💀

(but i mean thats not to say they’ll never yk *giggles* shes taking a year off of to help out and support m*egumi at his first year with goj 🥀🤧 SUPER MARRIED PARENTS!!) theyve alsoo been very invested the last decade or so with getting two of their besties together ever since n*anami said he was interested in her since like forever and never told them about it but swore to never tell her about it so theyve been trying to subtly *wheeze* set them up 🥀🤡

WHICH LEADS ME TO KANNAAA so she’s the granddaughter to the principal of the k*yoto campus and she transferred to tokyo so not to have the rep as “principals kid” (she still did alas 💀✨🤧) and possibly get special treatment bc shes related to one of the administrators. her curse technique she uses (its like c*assia in r*ogue trader-ish seeing emotions, curses and resonances as colors and swipes of paint and swipes of a paintbrush !!) and its helpful as she is a psychotherapist these days for sorcerers !!!!!!! 🌸 very much on the outside cool and collected “has her stuff together.” meanwhile that mask hides behind a hot mess teehee <3 also parties a lot chronic partner drags shiori to all of her after parties and galas and suggests kanna “tags along” so she can party 🥀😌 the girls are thriving!!!!!!!!

oh my god I need to go feral about jrwi right now

(spoilers for jrwi riptide up to episode 95 bc thats where I am right now) this is going to be a long nonsense ramble that jumps around a lot just so you know

godddddddd I love albatrio, they make me really happy, but also really sad vbhjhdj

seeing like how much they've grown over the course of the campaign makes me really emotional, and like learning about their backstory stuff and their similarities and differences from eachother. gill and jay understand eachother more than like chip and gill for example, because both were raised to be weapons and to see things very black and white. jay went undercover because she wanted to find out who killed her sister, under the idea that all pirates were evil. gill was raised to think that all humans were evil and must be killed, but as soon as he comes to the surface he finds out thats not true, even if he second guessed sometimes like after the things with episode 15. and seeing how differently episode 15 chip handled their fighting to episode 86 is so much character development, he knows how much it meant to gill and he stayed up all night to build an arena so that they could fight, and it was a much more fair fight, because he knew he shouldn't have kept the secret about edyn from gill and im rahhhhhh

also when theyre just having fun together, I love them a lot, theyre so ridiculous /aff like theyre a pirate crew and they make a waterslide out of ice like its a cruise ship, they have the worlds most intense game of tag/hide and seek because one of them can fly, the other is a fish guy, one has such wild stealth or persuasion or something I forget which rolls that he automatically gets at least a 25, in the weirdest way possible they are very evenly matched, and theyre doing that to make the small boy they keep on their ship happy, who also happens to have a belt of giant strength and so chip is very outmatched here as the only like normal human besides his high rolls vbjdfd

at the carnival when we got to see flashbacks to how they were as kids it makes me really emotional, gill was covered in bruises, wearing armor too big for him, holding a sword he could barely lift. chip was incredibly malnourished, he looked like he hadn't eaten a day in his life, and jay looked like the more 'normal' kid of the three, but knowing her family her childhood wasn't great either.

theres so much depth to all of these characters and it makes me go wild, and like everything is connected even if we dont know it at the start. chip was one of the black rose pirates as a kid before it crashed, drey, jays uncle, was too. so was Finn, gills grandpa.

chip has said before that he didnt believe in destiny until he met gill, but now he can't imagine a life without them, and I think about sometimes how different things could have been. if jay hadn't taken that undercover mission, or if they left a day earlier or later. if they left at any different time they might not have found gill, freshly exiled, just floating in the sea.

they mean so much to eachother and its so so clear. they find out their best friend might be doomed to destroy the world in some capacity? "I would drown the world for you" is chips response. they are the trio ever. "we're not just friends, we're a crew"

they are simultaneously the worst and best pirates in existence, they dont know the pirate code, the only rule of it they know is 'dont piss your pants' yet somehow they manage to follow it better than most pirates, because they actually care about helping people and being honorable and things. they were a crew held together by trust for the longest time, rather than any actual oath, and when they did make an oath it was sitting on a rooftop, comforting chip. and the oath they came up with was "I do solemnly swear to fuck shit up, to help those in need, and to be the best goddamn pirates anyone has ever seen."

something something about cycles, about how chip keeps nearly breaking down realizing that hes been trying to recreate what he had as a kid and the guilt from that

something something gillion realized because of his friends that the teachings of the undersea were wrong, that he was raised as a weapon, that he didnt deserve the awful awful things they did to him, that hes worth more than what he can do for other people, that hurting himself, throwing himself into danger all the time, hurts his friends too

something something jay, realizing that not all pirates are bad, and that she gets to be her own person, defined not by her family but by her choices, and that even when she betrayed her friends they didnt give up on her, even when she quite literally shot them

its gill hyping jay up when she has to call her grandma, its jay comforting gill when he had to face the council again when he was stuck in the dimension bc of the deck of many things, its chip trying to sand out the 'millennium chipper' from the ship, thinking they don't need him, and jay carving it back in because they need him more than he knows. things like that

also the less interaction-ey things, like them all making deals with Niklaus to save other people, considering themselves to be worth less than the crew even though theyre supposed to all be equals. its chips seal with Niklaus being where a tramp stamp would go vjbhdfjbh and also having a constantly updating tattoo across his ass of how much debt theyre in from the goldfish loan, its gill constantly showing their money off the ship to appease said goldfish and pay their taxes- theyre a pirate crew who pays taxes. what the fuck guys. one of chips pranks was literally just drawing boobs on their pirate flag. its jay getting bit by Anastasia and gill, asexual icon, stopping drowning just to go "what the fuck." when she was into it vdbjhbdfhj, also for some reason jay is into mimes. actually no she broke into a maximum security prison in a clown costume. theyre ridiculous vdbjhfvh

aaaaaaaa i dont have the words for the rest of this but just the way they comfort eachother and stuff, like chip knowing he wont be good at comforting gill so he asks jay to do it because of her similar background to gill and stuff, I just rahhhh theyre co-captains !! theyre closer than friends !!! co-captains or a crew really is just the best way to define how they feel about eachother and I like them a lot and they love eachother a lot and yeah I rotate them in my mind

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

232 but I need to note that at least 31 of those are drabbles (that I couldn't put into one multi-chapter bc of the varied ships)

2. What's your total AO3 wordcount?

2,002,567 (what the fuck) but I also need to note that several of these are stories in at least two languages and that some of these are not written with the Latin alphabet system so the word count would be different in those

3. What fandoms do you write for?

g witch is my homebase rn! but I'd love to be able to write at least one ffxv fic again next year which is the biggest collection of fics in my ao3 rn. briefly I was also active in sk8 and even more briefly in hadesgame (but that's not counting the pre-pandemic years)

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

HUH my ffxv fics have been completely nudged out of place! :ooo this is a surprise but hygge remains unbeatable since I published it uhhhhh 2017? it's a 30-day fic challenge where the brodinsons settle into earth following the events of ragnarok so that's why it's so popular I guess. the next fics are (from most to least) お持て成し omotenashi, weather report (the only hadesgame fic, the others are sk8), 浮世 ukiyo and save the date.

5. Do you respond to comments?

absolutely! they took the time to let me know their thoughts, I need to honor their generosity. THO I did delete some anon hate once bc my friends told me it's not worth it to engage and my friends are much smarter than me so

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

HUH man idk. like I define angst so differently than others (most people: liv why is this so angsty??? me: it's not???) but off the top of my head, the meeting on the turret stairs? mostly bc it's unresolved forbidden love gladnis and I really upped the ante there…i don't remember if it's to match the tone of the original artwork or if it was a client decision

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

there's a lot!!!! I'm not just all bittersweet stuff, I can tell other stories, I swear, but most of them are probably gladnis stuff but uh…if you filter my portfolio to just the fluff category, it's probably all of those there

8. Do you get hate on your fics?

HAHA oh man. so that anon hate, right? it was that time I posted my first guesulemio fic (forget me nots is the title) and I woke up to like 5-7 anon comments who got upset that I tagged it as sulemio (never mind that I also tagged it as polyamory but ehh there's a certain type of ao3 readers, right? we all know this) and like, 1 other anon baby later on in the day when I refused to remove the sulemio tag bc it was a fic where guel, suletta and miorine weren't a closed triad yet. to be fair, that was a fairly educational experience! I read up on some reddit stuff about tagging ot3 fics and while some people don't mind if the all-encompassing ot3 tag was used indiscriminately, other people, especially in the cases of open triads or where one corner of the triangle is missing, would love to know what subship of the ot3 they're going to expect going in. anyway that was the first and only fic I locked away from public bc lord do the anon babies have a lot of time in their hands (not a lot of reading capacity tho)

surprisingly the one before this—not hate, just disappointment—was a fic where gladio married that rando woman (we're talking about ffxv now) he mentioned in the hammerhead camp prior to the insomnia chapter. that's the woman that only exists in the English localization. the ending was that they got married in spite of gladio and ignis' committed relationship so there's basically three of them now. and people apparently hated that even tho one of the points I wanted to make with that fic was how gladio and ignis would always be together no matter what happens 🤷🏻‍♀️

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

what do you mean what kind isn't smut is smut is smut???? I mean yes I do write smut but damn if I know what kind of smut???? it's just smut?????

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

YES I love crossovers!!! of the ones posted on ao3, I think it might be joche in ffxv? mostly bc I couldn't fuse a lot of the lores together (kaoru was a lucian locked out of insomnia when Regis put up the wall, Kojiro was an altissian, that's it) but I do have one fic that I deleted from ao3 which is basically suikoden characters and events in the lore of pacific rim. and it's not on ao3 rn bc you could really tell I was just pulling shit out of my ass, it was all so bad and jarring 😂😂😂

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

MAN idk like i highly doubt it but I also don't take the time to find out you know?

12. Have you ever had a fic translated

ooh yes, two yeses in fact! mog (and ulan??) have translated some of my filipino fics to english but there was also a stranger who asked if they could translate one of my hadesgame!patrochilles ficlets (patience) into russian! that was very thrilling. and then just recently, I joined a guesule advent calendar project in Japan and the friend who invited me told me to give them a machine translation of my ficlet and they would go over it and clean it up to make it more readable to the jp audience. that ficlet isn't up on ao3 yet (it's on pixiv) but man I gotta remember to ask the project organizer if they would mind if I uploaded it there

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

YEAHHHH we never finished it tho!! it was a friend I made on some final fantasy rpg yahoo group and it was going to be a retelling of ff7 or smth? I don't remember much else, this was during ff.net's heydays.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship?

clerith. which i have barely written for (I mean i used to write them a lot back when I was still some 13yo anti-cloti lmao) but if we're talking about like based on recent fic counts and productivity and stuff, gladnis.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

oh man, I got this zares reincarnation au going that I got distracted from with ghost of tsushima and then now g witch (it's the "I'll get back to this after xyz" kinda thing) and I'd LOVE to finish it! I know I will, I have a 99% wip-finishing rate, but I'll need to replay hadesgame to get some voices and inspo back, you know?

16. What are your writing strengths?

I have the brain of a project manager, hence the 99% wip-finishing rate.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I can hardly write or even translate if i hear sounds! whether it's the TV or the radio or if it's someone talking to me, I can't do it bc I can't hear my own words

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

IF IT MAKES SENSE ABSOLUTELY I was soooo happy when I got guel and lauda to speak in my hokkien bc they're Chinese in the Manila au I have but also like, since the pov is guel (or miorine, who's also Chinese in that au), it makes sense to me for him to hear and understand the dialogue in the language. but if it's say like suletta who's filipino through and through? I would just write it like "meanwhile, Guel and Miorine are speaking in Chinese and, though Suletta doesn't understand a word, she can tell from the tension on their jaws that no one is happy". and also like, yes, especially for us multilinguals, I say we should flex our knowledge, but these dialogues need to get translated in the common language, too. if it's just purely flexing without understanding, then it makes no sense to even use a different language in the first place

okay, this got RIDICULOUSLY long so........ my apologies i give thorough notes lol

for friends of snc, i would say most of the ppl they hang with currently are good ppl. none of them seem overly weird or user-y just yet. bc snc mostly stick to themselves and kat and that's about it, so it's a bit hard to know who they actually are close to outside one another.

as for friends to be wary of, that's gonna be a bit of a doozy to explain lol

short answer: elton and corey. here's a post about elton that explains and gives more details about all of his shady stuff. corey gets added on bc he tags along with elton for all of his shit and is basically his lap dog so… fuck the both of them.

jake is a bit questionable, since he was shady in the past towards them. but i don't really think he's that bad comparatively to other ppl. plus he was like the only one from their old friend group that actually sent colby well wishes when he announced he had cancer.

their old friend group which includes but is not limited to tarayummy, kevin langue, mike's dead, reggie webber, all of them and some more have at one point or another been shady towards snc. or outright ignore that they ever existed to them, which is weird. you can fuck with them if you want. honestly, i don't care. i know i'm still a fan of aryia (badboywolfy) who seems to be on okay terms with colby/snc.

a lot of the shade thrown at snc from old friends hasn't been recent, so i'm willing to give some leeway with some of them.

there are about three ppl that colby hangs out with that i don't like, and have made that very clear on here. first off is brennen. i recommend you check out this account to learn why we don't like him. collectively most of the fandom doesn't like him. and if all of that shit wasn't bad enough, he also is just a clout chaser and uses colby whenever he can for videos which is just lame.

next person is shea, a girl that colby has done a couple collabs with over the years (mostly in 2017). to sum up what she's done in the most basic and quickest of terms - she's really obsessed with colby. she's been in gcs for years telling fans personal info about him, lies to them and tells them that she's dating him when he's clearly not with her like that, has told gcs info about other ppl in colby's life (that was a girl) so that fans would know this person and him weren't dating, has liked edits shitting on amber scholl (who we love dearly) and other girls colby is friends with, and when called out for it didn't say anything publicly but privately told her gcs the apology. then when she finally apologize publicly, continued to do it regardless. she also may or may not have talked shit about a fan that was into colby in said gcs and then blocked her and then when asked about the fan pretended to not know who that person was. when colby and her seemed to not be on the best of terms, she liked comments blaming the fandom for ruining their friendship.

so… yeah.

and then stas is the last person i don't like. she's very similar to shea in some regards, ie gcs. basically for a while has been telling fans info about colby, like what he smells like and shit like that. she would like edits shipping him with her (shea also did this a lot too, the difference was that colby also would like edits doing this. with stas, not so much.) she would constantly like and unlike things pairing them together. then last year, during a trip to europe - she started sharing her (and subsequently snc and kat's) location with fans which was how some fans found them. her mom was also sharing stuff on her facebook and fans noticed. stas' roommate is also in the know about fandom drama and likes things related to that on twitter. also during this trip, colby posted a snapchat that was of stas dancing that had "malishka" as the caption - which means babygirl/baby in russian (which is what stas is). this caused TONS of fans on twitter to congratulate colby and her on "finally" coming out as a couple, and she liked tweets about it. but it's very clear from the fact that colby was hella drunk during this festival that they all went to and the fact he doesn't know russian that clearly stas made him write it (or wrote it herself on his snap). colby has also constantly claim to be single all this time. they all came home from europe, colby hung out with her once more. stas has a sub-based thing on insta and fanfix where she posts bts of her life, and she posted she was going out on a date and in reality she and colby (along with a bunch of other ppl) were hanging out and going to a club. aka she was trying to make it seem as if she was going out with colby.

after that, colby kept some distance between him and her. i think something happened, but we don't know for sure. colby deleted comments on a tiktok shipping them together, colby told both snapchat and xplrclub that he was very much single and not looking for a gf rn, colby went on "date" with some girl and stas tweeted (and deleted) "wow.. sometimes the people you think who really care shock you the most" and "it was never real and meant nothing to you" and "lies". she also started a poetry insta and clearly wrote about him on there. she's also made tiktoks that can be seen as about him as well. she also still to this day on her sub-based content platform posts pics of her and colby behind a paywall.

i think her and him are on good terms now, but clearly something happened between them. and not in the "they dated and broke up and things were messy" kind of way. more like she was into him, he wasn't into her, and then things got messy and she took it out on him online and in front of fans.

so that's why i don't really like her. but if you want to like any of these ppl (maybe besides brennen and elton) you can. i don't fault ppl for liking whoever they do. god knows snc have done some questionable shit in the past. no one is perfect.

A little bit of OCxCanon here, but Skele actually has a mama named Quill and she’s a goth fiction writer! She might show up here! No one is actually sure how she’s with Ghostwalker honestly. Skele doesn’t even know either-

Skele loves collecting gothic novels since he primarily likes to spend his time reading various gothic fiction and horror novels! Skele is a proud goth himself, like his mama!

I hc Ghost to have hair that float/acts like his wings, so Skele’s hair floats and fades as well!

He likes to collect odd statues and dead creatures, such as stuffed (dead) creatures and bones!

Other Phighters are often put off by Skele’s apathetic demeanor along with his heritage! His idol cousins are especially spooked by him! (The cats scare them bc Styx offered them a dead bird once in Skele’s lore lol)

Skeleton Staff is capable of foreseeing deaths some time before they occur. He hasn’t told this to anyone but his father and intends to keep it that way

He owns three cats consisting of two hairless cats called Styx (female) and Charon (male) and a black cat called Acheron (male). The cats like to leave Skele gifts of animals! He adds them to his collections

Skele has albinism! This works in my headcanon by his horns being presented as a pinkish color and his eyes being presented as reddish pink. Due to this, he is highly sensitive to sunlight and is nearsighted!

Speaking of his horns and eyes, they have his father’s X eyes but as red pupils and he often dyes his horns a light gray!

Derek couldn't entirely argue with her reasoning, yet he registered the melancholy expression that had crossed her face while she had been lost in thought. Emily had turned back to people watch and Derek could suddenly see just how uncomfortable she looked in the situation. He wasn't sure if he had somehow missed her body language on previous outings, or if he was only seeing it for the first time because she was allowing him to. 

"I get your hesitations but I think you should give online dating a shot," Derek said to break the silence that had settled between them. "Why not? If you talk to a woman online and you don't want to meet up in person, so what? What do you have to lose?"

"My already precariously low amount of self-worth," Emily quipped. "Look, Morgan, I appreciate your attempts here, but I really don't need a girlfriend. I finally feel like I'm hitting my stride on the team and I don't need to start dating right now. I'm honestly fine on my own."

15. What’s your favourite time to write?

I'm actually a full-time writer, as in I usually can get a good 8-ish hours of writing in a day! I get writing done at two specific times of day. 9am-4pm M-F and 10pm-4am << these are the hours my partner is either at work or asleep. I rarely write when they're awake bc we spend our evenings together, so I write a lot during the week days or I burn the midnight oil.

25. What’s your favourite part of the writing process (worldbuilding, brainstorming/outlining, writing, editing, etc)?

When I post my words into the void and walk away! No, but seriously, up until I came back in July, I NEVER made outlines and I NEVER edited stuff (sorry readers!) I wouldn't even read my fics. I would pour the words out, post them and never look back. (I have since gone back to all my pre-2022 fics and read/edited them, some of them I had literally NEVER read before!)

Now? I think I really enjoy the actual writing process. I'm actually making outlines or at least a collection of thoughts that I build from, but putting my headphones on with a huge mug of coffee and pouring my soul into a fic for hours at a time feels sacred to me.

36. What fic are you proudest of?

This answer will be a bit long-winded but who cares? I want to discuss not only the fics I am most proud of but WHY I am proud of them. Three fics will always live in my heart as works I am proudest of! When I started writing Jemily in 2014/ish, I was struggling a lot with my mental health so I wrote a lot of fics that dealt with those struggles.

HEAD FULL OF DOUBT: This is a Jemily high school AU, where Emily goes to public school for her senior year and subsequently meets JJ, who is struggling with early onset schizophrenia. It is a story of friendship, patience, hope and understanding following their senior year together. This fic was SO incredibly important to me because the entire thing was basically a love letter to my younger self and to each and every person I have lost to depression and other mental illnesses. After writing this fic, I decided I had nothing else to write because I truly felt like NOTHING else I wrote would EVER be as important to me. So this was why I retired from writing.

2. THE FIVE HORSEMEN OF THE SILENT CHASM: (BE ADVISED OF THE TAGS ON THIS FIC BEFORE YOU READ IT!!!!) This was one of my earliest Criminal Minds fics. Again, it is about mental health, specifically depression and PTSD. This is NOT a happy story nor does it have a happy ending. While Head Full of Doubt manages to approach mental illness through a caring. understanding lens, this is the EXACT opposite. [A Journey Through the Silent Chasm] is now a three part series, detailing what tragic aftermath is left in the wake of suicide. The second part was written by @otahkoapisiakii. Both of us are survivors in terms of our own mental illnesses AND survivors of others who we've lost to suicide. So this will ALWAYS be an incredibly personal story to both of us and I will always be so humbled and grateful to have such a wonderful friend who understands this topic.

3. FOOLED AROUND (AND FELL IN LOVE): Like I said, after HEAD FULL OF DOUBT (which at the time was my longest solo-written fic at a small 24k WC), I retired from writing. I just closed my laptop and walked away. FOR SEVEN YEARS, I never even considered I would EVER return to a) Criminal Minds fandom and b) writing fic for it. But in July a series of events led me to read all my old fanfics and I happened to come across an unfinished WIP that was my take on 'Imagine Me & You' but make it Jemily. I had mapped it out to be about FIVE chapters total, basically a scene-for-scene remake of the film.

But out of that original idea, FOOLED AROUND (AND FELL IN LOVE) was born!! In the span of about a month, I wrote not one but TWO parts of this sapphic rom-com and GOD do I love this AU!! I think about it every day and I am infinitely proud of all 180,000 words of it!!! It' so much fun and it's so soft compared to me older fics, which is a direct comparison to how GOOD I'm doing in life now vs then.

Hi! I'm the OP of that post going around about false beliefs and theory of mind, I saw your tags so I hope you don't mind if I reached out.

I think the most important thing to take away from theory of mind related experiments is that the results you get from them give a VERY general idea of where a kids at, developmental wise. There's a lot of ways that that experiment can fail, and a child gives the right answer, even when they still haven't developed the right skills.

So I definitely don't want to make assumptions about your own development, but you mentioned watching a video and seeing several instances of yourself demonstrating non-egocentric behavior (knowing that others know things you don't, and vice versa). All I can say is that there's a number of ways you could have had the responses you mentioned about certain information while still being too young to have acquired theory of mind.

Perhaps at some point close to the recording of those videos, you were informed that the Easter Bunny wasn't real from some other source. A kid still dealing with egocentrism can still do basic memory recollection! Even still, you might have known your mom was lightheartedly lying from the tone of her voice, or other cues, so you teased her back.

Following that, saying that you want to show something to your dad doesn't *necessarily* mean you were reasoning at that level. We socialize children to share new, interesting things with other people- if something as unique as a sneaker-shaped chocolate was new to you, then you probably did assume that it was new to him.

The same goes for your question about reading a book. Theory of mind experiments are *extremely* controlled- The candy box test, for example, is particularly guided by the three questions, and it's collecting very specific information. Most importantly, theory of mind is what leads to abstract reasoning. There's a difference between that and day-to-day info collection.

To put it into context: say you read a book about a princess who does everything while singing "twee la la". You might not know if your mom has read the book, so you ask her. That's not necessarily the skill that theory of mind addresses, bc "this person did something" and "this person knows something" aren't really processed the same in the brain.

However, if you asked your mom to make you a sandwich "like the princess in the book", and she does something that isn't singing "twee la la", you could have become extremely upset that she was "doing it wrong", and part of that agitation is that she was doing it wrong when she clearly "should have known" how to do it right... just like you did (doesn't this sound familiar to typical kid reasoning?). It's that point- that you expected her to do something with information that you assumed she had, bc it was information that *you* had- that is what theory of mind addresses!

... And of course, maybe you just had a headstart and you *were* demonstrating non-egocentric thinking at a younger age! There are all sort of realistic variations on development, even (especially!) when taking things like autism into consideration.

So I hope that answers a few of your questions. Sorry if my answer basically boils down to "maybe you did and maybe you didn't", but that's the fun of child dev! :)

The abstract reasoning nuance is interesting. I have to wonder if the marble thing would have different results if the question posed was more specific, like, “If I close this box and show it to Mommy, and she hasn’t seen what’s inside it yet, what will she think is in it?” Like, I wonder if the “theory of mind” the kid is missing isn’t actually the mom’s mind but rather the question-asker’s — like, maybe the kid isn’t getting the implication that the experiment would start over; maybe they’re taking “this box” literally and assuming the mom would see the open box with the marbles visible.

It would be interesting to tweak the question in other ways, too, like for example if you just said “If I close this box and show it to Mommy, what will she think is in it?” — leaving out the “and she hasn’t seen inside it yet” — does the kid assume the mom must automatically have seen inside it already because she’s a parental figure who has the authority on everything?

And if it turns out the kid just doesn’t understand the implication of the experiment starting over, I wonder is that really a “theory of mind” problem, or has the kid just not learned to distrust yet? Like, maybe it just wouldn’t make sense to them that someone would trick their mom on purpose? Or is that the same thing? I dunno.

Actually tbh I wonder if those do go hand-in-hand, theory of mind and learning to distrust. Because the way I found out the Easter Bunny wasn’t real was that it just didn’t make sense to me as a concept, so one year on the night before Easter I snuck out of bed and tiptoed to the kitchen to see my mom preparing the eggs, then snuck back into bed feeling quite vindicated and proud of myself. I don’t remember what year that was, but it very well could’ve been the year of the video, which would line up with the teasing and with what you said about learning it from another source. But then why didn’t I trust it in the first place? Maybe that’s around the time the theory-of-mind seeds started to be sewn in my little mind.

I’m just thinking out loud here, I don’t expect you to actually know the answers to any of this. I just think the distinctions are interesting to explore.

hi! can you do one where draco and the reader are married (don’t make them old please make them like the married rich pretty milf and dilf couple), and they have a daughter. anyway, draco is out because of work/something else (it’s up to u) and the reader is with their daughter and they get into a small fight and the daughter says something really bad/hurtful to the reader (her mother) and the reader like gets sad (make it bad so it can be dramatic😏) and when draco gets home he finds the reader like crying (smoking too bc a milf smoking is hot but if you don’t want to add it it’s fine) and yeah basically the rest is up to you :)) ily hope ur well and fine. <3

draco’s hurried steps were heard echoing across the hallway as he rapidly made his way downstairs, cussing his boss out under his breath for calling him on a fucking Sunday. the same sunday he was about to spend basking in the love of his wife and child, all expectations now turned to mush.

“i’m sorry i have to go, my love. call me if you need anything, okay?” spoke draco, tone soft as he held your face in his hands, giving you one last sad smile before pressing a sweet kiss on your lips.

you gave him a feeble nod in response with a reassuring smile, watching him storm off in long strides, still swearing in hushed whispers and with a flick of his wand, he was gone.

you instantly took notice of how intense the atmosphere got around the manor- almost scary. deadly quiet with your four-year-old toddler still asleep and big curtains blocking any sunlight from coming in.

it almost caused goosebumps to rise on your arms as if the universe was already warning you of the day you were gonna have to deal with today.

maybe the first bad thing to happen today was being woken up by draco’s phone going off like crazy with calls of his boss and endless text messages of his colleagues.

it didn’t matter though, you had other things to worry about. your toddler was already walking down the stairs with a sleepy stare as she made her way to you, immediately taking notice of how there was no trace of draco, and looking around for any signs of her father.

“hi there” you greeted, giving her a sympathetic smile when she asked for draco, her small body already wrapped around your torso. a small sigh with a brief explanation of a work emergency was given to her. her sour mood amplifying a tenfold for every word that left your mouth.

she stayed quiet for a moment, and just as you started beaming at the thought of calming a daddy’s girl- she sobbed heavily in your ear, clinging hard to you but still screaming for draco.

a grimace found its way to your face along with a sorrowful expression as you shushed her down, tracing your fingers down her spine; a small trick you always did to relax her in days like this.

her sobs quieted down but she still cried silently in your shoulder, hot tears rolling down her face that had you questioning whether you should call your husband or not, the thought accompanying the insecurity of being a terrible mother who can barely keep her child tranquil.

after a few minutes of letting her pour all her emotions out, you made a path to the kitchen and sat her down on the barstool, wiping her tears away as she huffed in what seemed to be an angry expression.

“would you like some breakfast, baby?” you spoke, tone soft and slow as to not aggravate the situation.

“i want daddy”

“he’s- he’s not here right now” you tried to reason, watching as she took a deep breath but said nothing.

you turned around to head for the stove. but your ears caught a small murmur of “you’re the worst” coming from none other than your daughter.

a thunder-struck look adorned your face, blinking back the tears that found their way to your waterline.

ever since you found out you were pregnant, the anxiousness of being a not good enough mom had filled you in seconds, thinking of the worst scenarios possible throughout the pregnancy. draco was always there to ease your nerves a bit, yet, never quite pushing them away completely.

and jesus- did that simple three-word sentence stung painfully at your heart.

you stayed frozen in place for a few moments before taking a deep breath and quickly collecting yourself, continuing your errands around the kitchen as you made an effort to ignore the way your hands became clammy and heartstrings were pulled harshly in your chest.

the rest of the day went painfully slow, your daughter completely ignoring you and just curling up on the couch or playing in her room, always slamming the door in your face whenever you attempted to talk to her. your back also aching from having to do all house chores by yourself. every once in a while getting a text message from draco, rushed typos of “i love you” and “i’m gonna be there soon”.

the clock read 6:07 P.M and you held the cigarette to your lips with shaky fingers, tears blurring your vision as all the frustration from today came crashing down at once.

sobs rocked through your body as you inhaled the smoke and blew it out past your nostrils. warm, thick tears not coming to a halt even once.

your cries muffled every sound around you. not taking notice of draco who was now frantically searching for you, already finding your daughter safe and asleep on the couch. yet you were nowhere to be found.

it took one look at the cigarette package on the dining table for draco to locate you. he knew about your anxiety and how bad it got when triggered.

his heart ached and fists clenched at his side as he turned to his baby girl, snuggling her deeper into the thick fluffy blanket before making his way to the porch where you sat with a hand to your sternum, big clouds of smoke fogging the air around you.

“oh, baby” he sympathized, not giving you time to react as he enveloped you in a big hug, feeling the way your curled your fists on his shirt and sobbed quietly, taking ragged breaths every once in a while.

after a few minutes of taking shallow breaths, you pulled your head back from his chest, just enough to stare at his face, his bright grey eyes running down every feature you had, almost like he was studying it.

“what happened today?” he whispered, closing his eyes and connecting his forehead with yours.

you released a breath through your nose and lit off the cigarette on the small table next to you before explaining every small detail from today to draco, a few tears escaping at some points.

once you were done, draco removed his head from yours, pulling back and displaying both of his palms on your cheeks, observing your tear-stained face made him ache with sorrow.

“my love” he started “you are the world’s greatest mother to ever exist, a bad day with your child does not define your abilities as a mom. she loves you, we all do. you don’t know how fuzzy she gets when you’re not here.”

his words made a small smile crack through your lips, buzzing nerves slowly weighing down after every syllable he spoke.

“we would all be doomed if it wasn’t for you. every parent has a bad day, do not beat yourself up for it, it happens to the best of us.” he finalized, chest swelling with pride once he saw how you were full-on beaming, puckering your lips like a silent sign for a kiss which he gladly provided.

“i love you” you mumbled against his mouth.

“i love you more” he responded.
