oh im sad that you dislike the new additions to the jaedo tag :( hopefully you'll find something to your tastes. but to put my defender-of-fanfic-writers cap on, in aus some degree of ooc is completely understandable. because they aren't the real jaedo, and aus bend the reality of the characters to fit narratives. just dont make them 100% ocs cuz then its no fun anymore. i guess im lenient hehe. but one of the reasons i rarely read canon compliant is because the ooc becomes too glaring in that case. aus have wiggle room.

about dotae: they were only winning the poll until the jaeyongers got wind of it, then literally jaeyong surpassed everyone else by a huge margin and when i saw it last/near the end it was almost 5k votes. dotae are too platonic to be a strong contender. the friendship rings felt like fanservice and never mentioned or used again since then. feels... contrived? they'll always have their moments though bc they are besties, so shippers will be fed. at least their interactions are not as awkward as some other ships.

now lets get cracky. what is up with jaerose? since you keep up with jaehyun, i wonder if you know how this ship started? (i searched the blog for it and only found one post about it). because i cant trace it back to any particular moment. is it just pure delusion? it seems so popular. there are so many incredible edits of them lol. they actually would look cute together, if jaehyun wasn't so... obviously head over heels for a man.

anyway jaedo is in the small moments people dont usually catch, not on the overt fanservice idols do purposely. that's why it isnt that popular, i guess. which is fine in the end of the day. they have each other and that's what truly matters.

Of course AU setting will change some character traits or the level of their expression (nurture), that's the point of an AU (what if). However, certain core characteristics (nature) should always stay for a character with a name of a real person/existent character to be recogniseable.

It's interesting that you call DoTae "too platonic", when I had debates here on the blog about Taeyong being gay/bi and being in love with Doyoung. DoTae is a ship like any other, there are shippers who believe in the couple (on the level shippers usually do, "in pretence") or who fight over top/bottom division.

Fanservice for 6k USD? Lol. Doyoung wore the ring for a long time and posted a photo of it when he wrote about Taeyong staying behind at home and healing. Tae took the ring for an important photoshoot. However, Tae didn't like that Do used the rings to cover up JaeDo, he wanted smth for them only. I guess with time Do got the memo. I don't think Do fulfilled Tae's original desire to have friendship rings correctly (maybe the model, maybe choosing them alone without Tae, showing it to fans, gifting them before going away to spend time with Jae, etc).

NCT 127 and BP debuted same year, as same gen and from the big3 neos are shipped with BP girls. I think JaeRose gained following when Jae hosted on Inkigayo. What's your favourite Inumaki hc you saw/thought of?

I'm guilty of not reading many Inumaki fics because they are so annoying to look for, in most fics he's tagged in he's a side character and in those he isn't he's a part of a ship and as much as i love my ship fics i dont rly ship him with anyone atm so those dont offer much to me. So I don't know much about other ppls headcanons (side note: if u do have an inumaki fic u rly liked and would like to rec feel free to send that through we be starvin)

That being said, when it comes to my own if we aren't including the 'Inumaki knows sign language and has taught all the 2nd years' which i think is p popular, I think my favorite headcanon to play around is that Inumaki has a complex about his technique and his markings.

Like Gege said he covers his mouth to lower the volume of his voice but??? even in casual situations??? Even tho he never once made a mistake of speaking without meaning to and gege said onigiri is basically like a second language to him? I call sus. Gege is giving us crumbs and i'm building sand castles out of those crumbs don't look at me. Basically in the fanbook Gege said something along the lines of Inumaki family being targeted by the jujutsu elders cuz their technique was seen as a threat and that it got to that point that the family actively tried to cut out of sorcery out of their lineage WHICH IS SUCH AN INTERESTING STORY WHY THE FUCK IS IT ONLY IN THE FANBOOK TOGE ARC WHEN???

Anyway, Toge's markings are so damn visible and in your face, like they are literally there on his mouth for all to see. If his family was actively trying to weed out that technique i cant imagine they would have been very happy with Toge being born, especially since we know Toge has been talking in Onigiri for as long as he knows himself which points at his family being very quick to switch his language to something non threatening, quicker then they were to teach him how to control when he uses his technique which??? I don't think he even knows now, we see him speak normally solely to attack, it's kinda sad to think about his technique just always being on for him :(. Like there must be ways to??? not use it like with other techniques right? Why didn't they teach him that instead of just putting a blanket over it with onigiri language. Then again if they were actively weeding out the technique and the sorcerers in the family with it were already targeted off by the elders, maybe there simply wasn't anyone there who knew HOW to use the technique to actually teach him, so they had to cover it up to the best of their ability. My god you see just thinking about this im making new headcanons, he's such a gold mine and gege is ignoring the fuck out of him.

Anyway since i rambled long enough, basically my main headcanon is that Toge dislikes showing his mouth cuz 1. His family probably reacted badly to seeing the markings and it was probably obvious to him since he was little that they weren't something good or desirable 2. Having his markings out in the open in casual jujutsu society may also bring some kind of scorn against him, depending on how much the higher ups effected the view on cursed speech users amongst other sorcerers. Like we saw how wary Kyoto students were of him, even as they were worrying about Yuji. So while he can hardly avoid being known as the curse speech user, i think he avoids showing it openly simply because its been ingrained into him that his technique was something unacceptable and bad, something he should be ashamed of.

Honestly at this point with Toge anything goes because Gege is barely giving us scraps so its free real state for everyone. I sure hope Gege eventually gives us more canon info on him cuz its such a waste, his whole life seems like it could make such an interesting story and its sitting there in like 5 lines of the fanbook

(also i have a pet headcanon that he was one of the people Gojo helped as well cuz how else is he even attending school normally with such stigma)

i feel you so much, i become so extremly neatpicky (sometimes I feel like its better to only follow jpn artist man) but you still will see stuff. i don't follow any enabler but the shippers I follow often get attacked by the other shippers and defend themself, its so disheartning to see. Doesn't help we currently mostly only have like, our favs, comfort ship and the premis of the show (Im, ignoring canon currently, not very fun to read at all for a while now) Im kidn aglad I have a second twt i follow more jpn artist and for other stuff so I can just avoid the stuff a bit more easily. I also reacently started watching a more cartoon show with a bit of a story, sure writting aint the best but I promised myself to not be as hypercritcal for it and enjoy it as it is and I do. it helps cause now I actully have something to look forward too comming out (so I also care less about the manga right now) and kinda ironically helps keeping my intested for my fav charas and ships in bnha alive too (along side specefic artist and writers I follow) doesn't work for anyone but yeah. okay im gonna ramble for a little bit. this isnt entirely related to selfship but i do talk about it at some point

so ive been struggling with my identity lately. i dont feel like im a Real Trans(tm) for a multitude of reasons including but not limited to:

i / my self inserts dress cutely and appear feminine which has caused me / my s/is to be misgendered on multiple occasions

ive been wanting to experiment with pronouns but nothing feels right. he/him/she/her are out of the question cause they dont feel right. the neopronouns ive considered (xe/xem, xe/xir, ect) dont feel like they fit. it/its doesnt fit either. i dont feel like they/them is wrong as all but its weird cuz all of a sudden i dont feel valid only using they/them for some fucking reason my brain is just a shit like okay !!!!!

my sense of self is all kinds of fucked already which is why im so attached to labels so this on top of that is just like

The Blocklist: A essay (this is very long)

I know everyones sick of it at this point but I got shit to say so feel free to not read this absolute unit of a poorly written essay. The jjbablocklist divided their list into two different list now. One for creators and one for consumers/rebloggers and I cannot stress enough about how dumb that is since it shouldve been done since the beggining. Also, following alot of these artist and “consumers” of these medias, I noticed some of them are falsely accused, others while being minors. here’s why:

1. A lot of teens and young adults in the community like ships like GioMis, FuMis, NaraGio, MisTrish and plenty more and I know your singular shared braincell cannot handle the idea of 2-3 year age gaps not being pedophilia, but uh, newsflash for ya, THEY AINT. Legally, it is not a crime and that in america where the age of consent is 18, not in Italy where its 15 and not in Japan where its even less. Under the general United States Law, which is where I assume the list makers/defenders are mostly from, these ships are not classified as pedophilia or should be problematic and the ages of consent change to lower ages depending on state. The only way you can add these shippers for their “crimes” is if they promoted or created the interactions of these characters in a sexual or intimate manner whether they are aged up or not, which is still wack if their age is above that of the age of consent in writing/art and the fact that minors, in this case teenagers with the VA cast, are allowed to express themselves with people of their own age group in a sexual manner, real life kids do it all the time amongst themselves so why shouldnt people be able to create it, the whole ordeal is ridiculous imo BUT I can see how it makes a lot of people uncomfortable, a lot of it makes me uncomfortable too so we gotta make compromises somehow so absolutely no lewding the mafia lolis/ jojo lolis in general and if you do, tag it properly so it doesnt spread onto the basic hastags of characters and the show. If you dont you on the list.

2. Claim genderswapping/r63 is transphobic all you want but until I see clear and definitive proof of it being purposely made for that purpose then it’s absolutely ok. If someone makes it to offend someone then its wrong and they should be called out for it (which has never been the case in this fanbase as far as I cant tell) It’s creative, it allows people create new desings for characters or adjust current ones for cosplayers or other artist. Im sure one of your mods can relate, since the do the exact same thing as we do while not addressing a certaint character properly by their canon pronouns. Genderbending does not promote the attack or harrasement of the trans community and that is a fact unless its done by actual problematic artist like Sh*dbase and others, which is still a stretch because I dont think they’ve done it to target people or make fun of them but they are the popular problem icons. So get the actual transphobes on the list, aka those who created the content specifically to harras a specific person, or remove the catergory entirely. Its unnecessary and hypocritical.

Tumblr is infamously known to be a shitshow of a site where all you can find is problematic content. If you dont like this kind of content, why the hell are you here in the first place? There’s a lot of safer websites to use where like instagram, twitter, amino, facebook, and more. They have actual filters unlike tumblr and finding content you dont like is a lot harder unless you are purposefully looking for it, and even then it could be a challenge due to shadow bans or privatized accounts. Tumblr has none of that, everyone knows it, all of those who dont like it try to stay away from it or use it very scarcely. Why do you think that most of these “problematic” artist/creators/consumers are here? Tumblr has always been its own weird realm, trying to make it anything else goes against what it stand for.

You’re crimes make are literal nonsense sometimes because you include such obvious personal attacks like “Made a literal essay defending GioMis” and “All kinds of awful stuff” as crimes. You added a few account because they message you about how ridiculous the whole ordeal is and you take to findind the slightest bit of “evidence” that can aid you into making them look bad. You know thats not a good reason right?? Even if it were, yall are even more guilty for committing acts of Liable and Defamation and you are choosing to for those you incorrectly put on the list, invluding the minors! Let alone hypocrisy but yall are tired of hearing that one.

Dont add other fandoms into this mess. The Hetalia fandom has been dead for more than 5 years and it aint none of your buisness. It has nothing to do with Jojo. Unless you plan on making more blocklist for ALL fandoms then, goodluck, though make em better.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure is a wonderful and yet problematic series, guess who’s fault it is... its Araki’s. Created a hilarious nazi character, nah its the fanbases fault for roleplaying such a funny character. Pedophilia and rape represented in Jojo and not treated seriously, nah its the fandoms fault for romanticizing it. Homophobia as character traits and degradation of women in Jojo, pfft nah f a n d o m s f a u l t for painting such “false” representations of the characters. Ah, but yall wont drop Jojo cuz that kid your trying to control media for wont drop it either. It is not your responsibility to create a childproof community when the show already has heavy themes. Its their caretakers/parents or the childs own responsibility.

I despise the argument “well Jojo is a 17+ only show so no kids allowed!” you might be right, but has that really ever stopped kids from doing anything?? It does the opposite, it creates a sense of overwhelming curiosity which leads to venturing unkown territory which they may or may not end up enjoying. The problem lies wether young teens are mature enough to watch it or not and judging by this whole fiasco, alot of the people, teens and adults, involved are not.

I will give you this guys this, theres a few artist and creators that do belong there, very few as far as I could see and read into and some are missing since they are mostly on twitter instead of tumblr. But hey, I managed to find like 12 accounts that I probably wouldn’t like seeing the content of, and I found a lot of good accounts too. A hell of a lot more.

I know Im harsh and a total loser but y’all really gotta do some damage control and think ahead. Merely ignoring the fact that your movement cause a floodwave of hatred, deaththreats and suicide baiting is disgusting, adress it properly, dont condone it. to start, my HCs surrounding chardee are rooted in charlie being on the ace spectrum and dee being gay (or like @ least bi, but imo all the men stuff is straight up compulsory heterosexuality).

i will always cling tight to the deleted scene wherein charlie says he thinks sex is gross and will genuinely get sick when he thinks about it unless he thinks about it with one specific woman. i know he shows sexual interest a decent amount of times throughout the show and has canonically had sex (on camera too, yeesh) but i see each time as very out of the blue moments (coming onto dee @ multiple points while worked up, agreeing to bang tatiana cuz she says to, that kinda thing) or relating to his long standing and delusional obsession with the waitress. in that vein, he’s also canonically enjoyed sex, and I don’t try and blind-eye any of it, because ace doesn’t always mean sex can’t be enjoyed in the moment. charlie definitely has a libido, and bodies be bodies. hell, sex-repulsed can sometimes even flip 180 in the right conditions. shit is one fun spectrum i’ll tell you that…but either way, to start with him, i think him going forward with banging dee was very much a misjudgment of what feelings are and being extremely caught up in a moment where he felt real, genuine, closeness with someone else who he was having a damn good time making terrible poetry with.

as for dee, i, first of all, just agree with everything in that post. in the context of chardee, as much as i will lose my mind in tags about how hard i ride or die the ship, it’s mostly my obsession with their dynamic. i don’t think chardee is meant to be endgame. i absolutely 100% believe that dee, too, is misinterpreting her feelings. i think part of it is her consistent comp het, and the other is she’s never been close with someone the way she has been with charlie, and she doesn’t know what she’s meant to do with it. i think she was similarly caught up in a moment in which she showed her own vulnerability, opening herself up to someone who could easily just ridicule her as she’s used to (”right now? i’m scared”), and she receives support from him instead (”you’re not gunna bomb, you’re gunna do great”). we’ve seen how much dee craves validation, thats her entire thing. i’m not shocked she dropped her pants in this moment lmao. she probably felt her damn heart flutter cuz she got told by someone who she at least somewhat trusts that she really is good, even if she doesn’t think so. the only rational explanation for the feeling associated with that person is that he’s The One right? pretty big leap

charlie’s lived nearly his entire life deluding himself into thinking that, 1. he and the waitress have a relationship that is anything other than creepy, and 2. that the warped-ass mess of an image he’s created in his brain for what he and the waitress are to each other is what love is. he thinks he’s making progress in getting close to her when the only thing she’s Ever done pre-s12 is ask him to leave her the fuck alone. he’s never even attempted to look past the waitress before, and the only time he shows interest in other people it’s purely his libido talking. he doesn’t pursue romance, and the one time we’ve seen him do so he was using her to get to, who else?, the damn waitress. 

dee’s lived her entire life having to prove herself to every single person she interacts with, and its familiar to her to getting ahead by using men, usually as sexual objects. i’m hesitant to bring this up on a post wherein i speak on dee’s sexuality because i don’t want to link this trait to it in any way as if its related, but to be fair, dee is as much a serial rapist as dennis is in that regard. the gang are shitty people, we know that. she will get men drunk to have sex with them, or pressure them into it, or trick them into it. she’s not having sex with these men for pleasure, she’s literally doing it for power. it’s absolutely fucked up, but so is she.

when she Is romantically involved, she’s shown to leap headfirst into those relationships and blow them out of proportion on 0 grounds for it. she buys a promise ring for a guy who didn’t think they were dating, it’s implied she’s going to actually go ahead with the brad fisher marriage thing after the episode ends, she gloats about how important she is to a stripper who was literally shame-crying during sex (also? she says “we BOTH wept,” and she can say that’s because it was that good, but i really doubt it). i mean the woman GAGS when talking to men she’s “nervous” around, something she takes as meaning she’s attracted to them? lmao uh???

at this point i’ve probably repeated myself over and over, my brain is on backwards and my train of thought went off the rails years ago. but i’m still gunna retype an old set of tags i found:

i hc that neither of them end up together but they do go through a relationship-ish phase, but dee’s gay and charlie’s okay with that (and always ace in my mind) because they finally move on from their own irrational drives to adhere to what they think is expected of them. i dont think either of them have any idea what a relationship is meant to be and they pathetically grasp at each other because they’re kind-ish to one another and that feels safe for once. chardee may be my main ship but i purposefully backtrack on myself because i know they’re two people who barely know love and have found each other, both as underdogs in their environments, and feel an electrifying Something that they Cant Name wen theyre together, and that something just so happens to be friendship and they don’t realize it cuz they’re doofuses who’ve led really unfortunate lives where friendship and hatred are always intermingling.

i’ve never brought it up here, but i often imagine a timeline of their relationship, because i enjoy the idea of them figuring themselves out through each other, just because they are genuinely amazing (platonically) together, and they get into some of my favorite shit. the thought of late night talks and confessions about their worries and confusion about their feelings while lying in bed, just close because they feel comfortable that way, realizing they can keep loving each other and not force it to mean something it doesn’t, the relief that comes with that, a final kiss that really doesn’t mean anything but thank you, not losing what they had but rather gaining a whole new kind of intimacy, and still getting into absolutely ridiculous situations. maybe dee realizes shes, ironically, found herself with a crush on the waitress and it cracks charlie up. he doesnt mind. he’s finally learned that if he Is going to be with someone it should definitely be with someone who makes him feel at Least half as comfortable as the way being around dee does, and knowing he doesn’t have to make himself look for that, but when he knows he will know. plus, he cant imagine dee pulling that one off. but maybe one day she does. dees gentler around the edges, and she gets butterflies when talking to women, but she never gags. charlie’s a terrible wingman but he keeps convincing dee to let him try. she brings a girl home for the first time and charlie all but backflips in an empty pool that day. they’re still shithats but they’re learning to let that go. people can get better. AA would probably help.

Why I don't think this ship is wrong

I’m not interesed in fighting with antis, or trying to change other people’s opinion forcefully. However It may be usefull if I collect some things I and others have said

TL;DR: This ship *can* be handled so badly that it makes our beloved conman into a pedophile, but I think the grand mayority of the people being bullied on this site don’t even ship it like that. Don’t put everyone on the same bag. People don’t deserve to be bullied for what they like in fiction and there are clear differences between reality and fiction.

I don’t think this ship is pedophilia simply because I dont ship it that way. Pedophilia implies fetichistic sexual atraction to kids under 13, and a horrible abusive element of “I don’t care about you, I just wanna fuck u cuz ur young”. Now, if you see this pairing as reigen sexualy taking advantage of a very young mob or simply not really caring about his well being and preying on him, that would count (and also be horribly ooc and a sad way of doing it).

However if, by example, you ship them romantically as having mutual care for each other and mob in full understanding and control of the situation, even if the relationship gets sexual while mob’s still 14, I wouldn’t call it pedo. Questionable or innapropiate? Yes. But not pedophilia. And then you have many, many, other scenarios that get really away from all that.

An important distinction should be mentioned here: While I’m ok with a romantic relationship between this two characters despite their age gaps, If I saw a similar age gap in real life and the younger party is still a minor, I would probably call the cops. For me that is the difference between fiction and real life for this issue. Minors in real life should be discouraged from dating people much older because they could easily be taken advantage of. However in fiction, you have control over these characters and you can make sure their relationship is healthy, especially if you keep them in character as much as you can.

You can have them being romantically involved but not turning sexual until mob is older. You can have them being platonic for a long time before they develop romantic feelings. You can have mob being assertive. You can have reigen feeling conflicted. You can adress the age gap issue. You can have it not mattering at all and them just slowly getting closer witouth noticing. You can have them being only platonic, in a very strong friendship.

There is many many ways to make this ship beautifull and I don’t think it’s just to put everyone on the same bag as the worst content and condem them all using a really severe accusation of condoning child abuse or being abusers themselves.

It’s just not alright to make call out blogs and tag whoever ships it, regardless of how they ship it, as “pedophiles”. I remember one of these some months ago tagging a user who only had like two barely shippy posts with grown up Mob as “condones pedophilia”. Neither is ok to send mean messages to users with death threats or fill their asks with insults. Or flood the main tag with complains about which, I have to be honest and say that to have so much nsfw noncon underage content popping on your dash as some people complain, at least on this site you literally would need to follow the 2-3 blogs with such content and have them on notifications. I know what Im talking about, I check the main ship tag nearly daily, follow most shippers and have stumbled onto that only like twice on my dash.

Continuing with the list of shit people have been puting on with, it’s even less fair to ramp up the generalizations and make really rude comics portraying all the shippers as disgusting creatures. Or say you get disgusted if a shipper reblogs your content, even if they respected your tagging preferences and/or the content has nothing to do with the ship at all. Or to claim “x has great art but they ship reimob, nevermind, their art is trash”. What’s the necessity of doing all that? I frankly doubt people who do that have the best interests of minors at heart. At best I have seen questionable beliefs about content on a site as tumblr being influencial enough such that a fanart with less than 50 notes of a niche fandom can “normalize pedophilia” in american society (because you know, we are all americans and america is the world). At worst it just seems to be used as excuse for harassment.

Speaking of that, regarding the users who make really wrong content: While I won’t defend that, I feel another distinction should be made. Do I think certain content is gross? Yes. Some of that content nearly made me throw up? Yes. Do I think the autor of that content is gross/deserves to die/etc? No. Do I harass them? No. Some of them have turned out to be csa survivors. I try to abide to the notion that nobody should be bullied for their likings in fictional settings, even if I don’t like it. What I do to deal with that is simply not follow the blogs with such content and so far it works.

As I said, I’m not interesed in discussing with antis, I just wanted to put some things together. Maybe it will help confused bystanders understand the shippers aren’t defending pedophilia. We are just defending a ship we like and love. Let’s try to respect each other.
