<2 Aromantic Heart?

i saw "<2" being used for loveless aros, which i think is super cool as a loveless aroace, but also as an aplspec person! I think personally, I actually really like using "<2" to show care, especially with other aplatonic people, without implying there are any feelings behind it.

idk if this is already a thing or not, but i just have it in my head now that "<2" is an aplatonic heart. or, rather, an aspec heart in general! since it doesn't imply romantic OR platonic love to me, just simply care or respect. tbh, i didn't think i would like using it as much as i like it now, since i like using "<3" still. but tbh i really like using "<2" when interacting with other aplatonics, it just makes me feel more comfortable. :)

it makes me incredibly happy that every feb 14th the aspec community comes together to dunk on amatonormativity and celebrate our aromanticism, asexuality, and everything in-between. truly one of the most joyful experiences I've had, and I'm very happy to be here to witness it.

the fact that <2 has been spread decently far in the aspec community brings me a lot of joy and gives me a lot of life. i'll see it on posts or in notes. i've entered discord servers and it was already being used before i even joined. it means a lot to see a difference made. i know i'm not the first person to do it. i get that. but i feel at least partially responsible for this new wave of it. and it means a lot to know i made a difference

Arospec folks, am I allowed to use <2 to say I love someone in a non-romantic way? I don't experience platonic attraction so I don't see myself using it too often, but I wasn't sure if I could as someone who is alloromantic allosexual.

(If you didn't know, <2 was created as a replacement for <3 that arospec folks could use to show affection/adoration.)
