ive drawn pretty much my whole life, i lowkey do photography, i like to sew costumes, but i dont do it very often because i kind of suck at sewing. im making a satyr costume right now... hit a roadblock with the hooves...

i have 2.5 cats (one is technically my brother’s but she lives with me and likes me better anyways)

im trypophobic! dont like skin holes! now im thinking about it! fuck!!! also bathmophobia (fear of stairs). had nightmares about stairs a lot when i was a kid and now stairs (mostly going down them) fucks me up son! but im more or less used to it because i generally have to use stairs a lot.

i have a collection of skulls, a collection of mannequins and a collection of slinkies! 

my favorite video game is still free realms even though it was a “kids” game that died years ago. i still have its bookmark, and i have kept the game files through 3 computers. theres some people putting the game back together though

🌿basil: can you cook? what is your favorite dish to make?

i am super bad at cooking, even though i took a home ec class in middle school and didn’t do totally awful. but i have like. a billion allergies so when i do cook it’s always from scratch. which makes me super proud of myself when it comes out nice. i love making gluten free milk free mac n cheese from scratch. 

i rlly rlly love baking tho! i love making stuff from scratch. lemon tarts, cookies, cake, pudding, snickerdoodles, pies, muffins - like i make em healthy AND good so i can eat like 20 without feeling too bad. but yup. domestic things make me feel adulty and like i got at least a little of myself together. sorry this is so long winded.

I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to respond, I needed to use my computer to reply to this. Mobile is tricky when trying to tag/link people. 

I love a lot of the witches I follow, so I’m more than happy to take this opportunity to share a few!

These are all wonderful people, and honestly there are so many more that I didn’t include here just because the list was getting really long. I’m more than happy to add more people in a reblog! 

As for the tips, I’d say the biggest thing that I wish someone had told me is that there is no right way to do magic or witchcraft. There is no right way to learn it either. Try out a few things, see what you like and what you don’t, and don’t be afraid to say no to something you don’t feel comfortable with/don’t believe in. (Also, please don’t tell other witches how to practice their craft. Like I said, there are as many ways to practice witchcraft as there are witches!) 

I think the first things that any witch should know are probably binding, warding, cleansing + banishing, and mindfulness. Binding comes in handy when you’re dealing with a lot of spells, intentions, and spirits. Warding/shielding keeps you protected from energies and such (and is super helpful if you’re an empath like me). Cleansing and banishing are somewhat similar, as they are for getting rid of something. Cleansing (in my opinion) is more for energy, and I use it to get rid of anything from just plain old energy to generally negative energy. I use banishing for negative and harmful entities and energies. Both are super important and useful! Mindfulness is actually more simple than it seems. Lots of people see that word and immediately think of meditations, trances, things like that. For me, I just see it as being aware of your emotions, energies, and those around you.  -  There are tons of ways to do each of these things. I recommend doing a little research, trying a few out, and seeing what works. You can always make your own way of doing things! There is no rubric or end-all-be-all for witchcraft. Go at your own pace and feel things out! 

Don’t feel like you're “not a real witch” for not spending a lot of time working at the craft. If you identify as a witch and maybe give a little thought (literally just like...think about it - you don’t need to do anything) to your craft once in a while, and you're good. You don’t even have to do that much honestly. 

Remember, you, like everything else, change. You may start out working with one god/dess of one path or religion and along the way switch entirely, do a mix of a bunch, or find that maybe you're secular and don’t want to be devoted or follow any gods at all. The same goes for your practice. You could start out doing only divination, and wind up working with a lot of spirits and pulling in lots of different things. Change is good, and you don’t have to stick with just one part of the practice. 

Above all, enjoy the process and take pride in what you do. Witchcraft is truly a wonderful thing and it is unique to you. There is always more to learn and do, and there is a place for everyone.

🌱 hello! 🌱

this is my sort-of introduction post! my name is elliot, i’m 15, i live in switzerland and i’m new to witchcraft.

i decided to take it up because i’ve been interested in it ever since i was little - when i was four, i bought a little book of spells from a wiccan shop and was enthralled. i still have that excitement whenever i come across a new recipe or spell; i’m also hoping to find some inner peace in doing cleanses and rituals!

What got me on my Witchy journey?

Hmm… I think the biggest thing was my love for nature and natural (primarily herbal) remedies. I already had an obsession with old books, keeping herbal journals and collecting jars - I was pretty much set to be a witch. Luckily, one day it finally clicked!

I forgot where most of mine came from but I actually won them in a giveaway @bricklebee hosted

my rose quartz I bought on Amazon.

when buying crystals buy them from wholesalers who sell them to ppl for collections or crafts or independent witches of color, avoid metaphysical shops and anyone who uses high magic names for their crystals(angelite and faerie quartz) most of these are glass or just a chemically altered stone

make sure if the store sells shit like that then they are open about what it is
