Lucifer despite being silence refused to be brought low despite the mental sickness eating at him he did all he could with Lilith at his side to become the emperor of hell . And rule his realm, silent but powerful .

There are other ways to persuade others then speech.

He can communicate those sign language , and written and electronic notes . As well as those who have the privilege to speak for him. He can talk telepathically but it’s stilted and is like written Sign language — example : It follows a “Topic-Comment” structure, where the subject and verb are often expressed in that order.

So like — ME TEACHER" would mean “I am a teacher” and that’s how you write it too, in all caps .

So I was thinking about Makino and the ASL brothers, as one does, and please imagine the following: Makino brings clothes for the boys. They each chose their own. She comes back some days later and Sabo and Ace are fighting over whose shirt it is and these pants are mine and I'm the oldest if I say it's mine then it is and your typical siblings fight. Makino thinks they're very cute and also the situation is funny but to stop the argument she simply starts writing their name on the tags of their clothes — littles Ace and Sabo (and Luffy so he wouldn't feel excluded).

They all keep the habit afterwards ❤️

Alternatively, I was thinking about it because the Revolutionary Army got Sabo's name thanks to it being written on the tag of his clothes, and was wondering why it was here.

Considering Luffy's lack of education at the time........ May have made Makino reconsider also giving them reading/writing classes for a while.......................

Now it would be so cute if the ASL brothers did keep the habit going, and had their crew embroider their clothes with their name for them 🥺🥺❤

had another sign class today and our teacher went on a tangent about deaf culture and The Horrors of its history (iykyk) and such. and there it is again. the urge to get on a flight and fuck off to gallaudet for the whole summer

okay i'm like halfway through ep 146 so i want to put my final battle predictions out into the world before i actually finish listening als;kdjfa;lskdfja

the guardians kill torva. in his remains: esudel's hungry boy stamp

the guardians and torva kill each other, and then team up (EXTREMELY begrudgingly) in the void to kill the forces

the campaign ends. next episode posted: recap news, 3 hours long. in it the guardians fight the true BBEG, kat the newsreporter. most of kat's battle tactics are to pull recap information from the guardians (either this causes psychic damage or the implication/threat is that once the entire campaign has been recapped, their world will cease to exist). if the guardians win it's because one of the larks steals maeri's character sheet to "summon" her to the recap plane and take control of her from kat. laika is there, sophia guest starring just for this

after the final battle, the guardians go on a quest to get the final hungry boy stamps. the final final battle is the guardians arguing over which hungry boy location they should go to to get their free sandwiches

for a fic with hard of hearing steve, what is he approaches shy!reader at school who is deaf and asks her to teach him sign language?!

and then as they work together, he slowly falls in love with her without realizing that she’s been smitten for him even before he approached her, she just thought she didn’t have a chance!!

it would make me, who is hard of hearing, so so so happy!!! 🫶🏼

I should say — I’m not Deaf or HoH, but I did take 3 years of American Sign Language in high school & know quite a few Deaf ppl (even tho I’m so out of practice LOL) so I think I could do the idea/Deaf Culture justice, but if anyone had thoughts and/or opinions abt this, pls let me know!!!

I love learning ASL it’s so good. Makes me happy to learn it. I’m so glad my university has classes for it with professors actually steeped in Deaf culture.

Oi. Just an aside thought I find myself pulling to the fore again.

Is just kinda wishing I had the cognitive space to really learn another language. (In terms of available mental energy for it and also having some formalized courses on it. I generally feel I learn better in a structured way like that.)

The big three on the bucket list (not necessarily in order):

Spanish - just, it's extremely practical, too, given just how much USAmericans speak it. (Obviously in just the immediate sense, but also. I do love learning abt dialects in any language - Spanish very much inclusive. Like It's neat even just getting whiffs of differences between different Spanish-speaking countries. Even tho I have a practically non-functional amount of fluency.)

American Sign Language - also from a practical angle. But it's also intuitively and structurally extremely fascinating. (I've taken an intro class in college an eternity ago - and I just remember some Deaf culture history pts + some syntax and spatial relations in signing. Like - shit like relating time/tense is just really neat.)

Korean - to maybe, maybe rekindle what little connection I still have to my mom's side of the family and her culture. I just… yeah. (Cue some feelings of grief and missed opportunities in this one.)

(All my linguistics knowledge is from a v broad strokes level.)
