If Whitebeard had lived I like to think he and Luffy would have that Shanks and Marco thing where every time they interacted Whitebeard would ask Luffy to be his son and Luffy would giggle and stick out his tongue like the brat he is and go “No! Nope! No way!” And all the rumors would be about something stupid like how Whitebeard has been bitterly insulted by Straw Hat Luffy and it’s only a matter of time until the Straw Hats are assimilated or destroyed, meanwhile Luffy finally settles on “You aren’t my dad but I’ll call you Uncle!” And all the Whitebeards collectively tear up

You know what I love about storytelling?

It makes the burden lighter by allowing us to share it. It allows us to say the words we needed to hear as children, and perhaps even tells those words to someone who still needs to hear them. It gives us a chance to take profound hurts and questions and to reevaluate them through the lens of fiction.

Storytelling is both a tool for building community and a balm for the condition of being human. No matter the medium, it is magic.

why does star trek: next generation actually have good disabled rep? i am so used to such atrocious representation that i am shocked a show from the 80s could do it so well. not only have i found the representation of geordi's disability to be well done (and there's parts that are so specific and relatable to disabled experiences that it makes me think someone disabled worked on this show). (however, please note i am only up to season 2, and that i haven't looked much into other people's interpretations of him and admit he may not be as good of rep as i currently see him). this current episode has a deaf character, riva, and the ideas and empathy extended to disabled people are so nice and refreshing to see, especially as facilitated through this character. i also thought geordi's b plot, where it shows his hesitation in giving up something so integral to him (especially when it could be dangerous), is so important to me. also, the fact that riva and geordi are shown to relate and deeply understand one another whilst listening to the other's own feelings was so relatable; it was crazy. (also, i always love seeing a deaf character and a blind character communicate with one another!) the concept was extremely cool and well executed, and, god, i know it's the bear minimum but highering a deaf person to play a deaf character and taking them up on their own idea they pitched and also listening to them when they provided much needed disabled insight! ugh. i love it

there's just so much here. the fact that it apparently mixed up "deaf" and "dead" (probably bc people make that typo pretty often). the fact that in interpreted "sign" as a written sign, clearly not recognizing that it's a verb in this sentence or using the context of "deaf." the merger of "here for" into "fere."

So, Chloe Goes Back In Time AU ask, but like.. OK I know you don't like casting a wide net. But I can't help but wonder:

1: How the public perceives Purrge, not just after the initial battle but later on, like do people see her & LB fighting, does LB say she stole the ring?

2: I am desperate to know what is going through Gabriel's head in response to all this. Like, Chloe's upsetting Adrien, Chloe's an Akuma, Chloe is a really GOOD Akuma, Adrien is Chat Noir!? Chloe De-Akumatized!?? (She can do that!?!?) He can't find the ring, is Chloe Purrge, did she lose the ring!? What is going on!!?!?

It amuses to imagine how confused and pissed off he must be,

Both of these things will be answered if I do another fic. Purrge is subject of MUCH speculation, but then nearly everything is at this point. The situation is a lot less 'our two heros vs one baddie' so much as 'Superpowered people are squaring off in our city, we don't know what's going on but Ladybug fixes stuff so we cheer for her.

ah yes! I wish I knew where it went bc showing is much more fun than telling but I've somehow lost the video over the years. basically Night of the Werewolves played in the background while I signed the lyrics. the professor really emphasized how sign language should involve facial expressions and strength of movement that reflects the emotional vibes of what you're conveying, so I performed it standing up with more intense motions than if I were in a conversation. lots of work bc it's a pretty fast song but so much fun! I still remember the intro bit very well, though I get tripped up trying to remember signs corresponding to the later lyrics.

Guy who never sleeps x Guy who cannot stop falling asleep. What a dynamic. You know, it'd be sweet if Sanji was having a rough week trying to sleep but couldn't, and Ace told him he'd be with him awake the whole night. Then Ace ends up falling asleep suddenly and for some reason Sanji finds it so endearing and it is such a relaxing and sweet thing that he manages to at least rest a bit with him <3
