@box-of-characters ;; SWITCHING TO BETA.
That Takumi is not holding it AGAINST him for being so on edge is a blessing, in and of itself, and one Zagreus will certainly THANK him for when certain, unrelenting DOOM is not lingering at their doorstep. One wrong move, one step, and they will fall back into his father's clutches, worse off than either of them had been prior.
Zagreus would be harshly reprimanded for trying to sneak a SPIRIT out of hell itself, and Takumi . . . gods, the prince of the underworld didn't even want to THINK about what would happen to his partner.
Tumblr media
" This way. " The first area was the easiest, at least to someone who had been through it dozens of times, but it was DIFFERENT when he was responsible for someone ELSE'S life, now. Instead of dashing through it as he normally would, Zagreus is patient, taking calculated steps and avoiding as MANY adversaries as possible. He gestures when Takumi can ease forward, and signals when the spirit needs to tuck himself away whilst Zagreus fights.
So far, so good . . . but, the fortune would not last long, he's certain.
" You alright so far ? No scratches or scrapes ? Not getting cold feet yet ? "

Genderfluid!Matt Jackson; headcanon list
Warnings: Just some gender identity crisis
Notes: I lost the ask for it, but this is for the anon who asked for some genderfluid Matt Jackson headcanons. I love doing ones like this since I am trans myself, so if you want to request anything like this, don’t hesitate. Also Matt will use he/she/they pronouns in this, so pronouns will change throughout. I hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
— Discovering himself was a rather long journey, a lot of trial and error over the course of what Matt would claim to be roughly a year ( though he supposed it could also be described by his entire life if you really wanted to put it that way. )
— Admittedly, it was difficult to find what fit, as far as pronouns and identity, but she had a lot of support and reassurance from The Elite that made everything easier. Though, Matt typically ran to Nick for anything related to her identity crisis.
— But Matt found theirself, getting this comfort in finally knowing how they felt and what made him feel good.
— The Elite did their best, of course, being sure to switch between Matt’s pronouns as much as they could remember. Adam had the hardest time with it, while Kenny had the easiest like it was just second nature.
— Matt wears a multitude of different outfits. Sometimes he can be seen wearing a pretty skirt and crop top, with his hair did up all pretty. Other times Matt is in sweatpants and a t shirt. Sometimes he would steal Nick’s clothes because, according to Matt, the majority of Nick’s clothing choices are very androgynous.
— Matt does very minimal makeup, when she bothers wearing it. Mascara, some eyeliner, and a light lip tint are good enough for her. But she does want to practice and get better, so sometimes she does Nick’s makeup to make him pretty — he never minds, he likes feeling pretty, although he does hate any makeup around his eyes so Matt has to practice on herself for that one.
— All terms are good terms in Matt’s book. Boyfriend, girlfriend, partner, brother, sister, sibling, husband, wife. Whatever you want to call them is perfectly fine with them. Though they will admit, hearing anything not typically heard is their favorite.
— He never really “came out” to the fans. People on BTE just used all his pronouns, he gradually began wearing all his different type of outfits, and he even wore these cute pronoun earrings with he/him on one ear and she/her on the other. People caught on quick enough, even with Matt dodging the majority of questions.
— Matt keeps up a rather masculine appearance on television, but will occasionally wear a fishnet shirt or crop top to the ring. She does hope one day to have enough courage to wear whatever she wants on tv, but for now, backstage and on BTE is plenty for Matt.

i hate having to constantly bring this up but it really wouldn't hurt to switch over to BTE. this is because anyone who's made an account on or after 11/26/22 are stuck using BTE. what this means is that they have no way of switching between BTE and LTE. not only that but many of us can't even us LTE because of how buggy it is.
this is incredibly problematic for roleplayers who thrive off of multi para and lengthy threads because those of us using BTE cannot trim posts edited in LTE. here is an extensive post explaining why BTE and LTE don't mesh well. so having it to where everyone's using BTE will honestly just make things easier in the long run because tumblr does plan on enforcing BTE on everyone sooner or later. another super neat thing worth bringing up is that @rpclefairy actually made a tutorial on how to get XKIT REWRITTEN on mobile. so that's definitely worth looking at. they also made Roleplay Formatter for all of us to use and i can't recommend it enough tbh.
BTE might look scary and it might be a bit buggy but keep in mind that LTE was just as bad when they first implemented it. there are also tons of neat features that are implemented in BTE that we could never use in LTE.

IMPORTANT INFO FOR THOSE MAKING NEW RP BLOGS
NOTE: because my other blog got term.i.na.ted i thought i'd go ahead and copy / paste this into a post on here and give a more clear and better understanding of everything.
as some of you are aware, anyone who makes a blog on or after of november 26, 2022 are unable to use LTE. if you've made a blog prior to this update, you will see an option to switch between BTE and LTE in the top right corner of their browser. it would look something like this for those who do have it:
Tumblr media
what this means is that the staff is on the roll with fully implementing and enforcing the BETA TEXT EDITOR on everyone. not only that but i'm going to assume that they're going to be making a site wide update within the next month or two ( march at the very latest ). what this means is that literally everybody is going to be forced to use the BTE whether they want to or not.
and not only that but it's gotten to the point to where the new xkit is slowly but surely breaking for people because of how outdated it is and the staff enforcing us to use the BETA TEXT EDITOR. so i definitely recommend y'all going ahead and embracing BETA TEXT EDITOR as well as getting xkit rewritten for when the day actually make the site wide update for literally everybody.
so with that being said, here are a couple of addons i recommend y'all getting:
limit checker: this is an absolute life saver. i kid you not. it tells you the number of asks you sent as well as text / video / videos / etc. posts you've made among a few other things. it's super neat.
mass deleter: unfortunately this only deletes stuff from your drafts and queue but it's definitely worth getting if you have tons of stuff and / or are a hoarder.
mass unliker: i like to sort through my likes every once in a while tbh but if it gets out of hand and you tend to have 8,645,132,154,568 likes then feel free to use this so that you don't have to go through each and every thing in your likes.
mutual checker: do i really need to explain this one?? being able to see who you're moots with via dash is 1,000,000 times easier than going to your followers and CTRL + F nonstop.
tag replacer: having a mass tag replacer is, without a doubt, an absolute life saver. this is especially useful for us roleplayers who tend to change our aesthetics from time to time and have updated our tags. and even if you don't change your tags regularly it's still worth getting this.
tag tracking+: this lets you know when you've been tagged in something!! ah!! 10 out of 10 love it.
timestamps: this is a must for just about all of us in the tumblr rpc. it lets us know when those we follow / moots have posted! so that definitely helps out a lot. it also allows you to choose between the standard format and iso 8601 format, so there's that!
trim posts: thankfully this addon isn't as confusing as it was when first implemented. thankfully it's a lot more user friendly and easier to use now! but keep in mind that you cannot trim legacy posts in this. all replies have to be strictly done in BTE otherwise it's a one-sided editing spree. no exceptions.
there are a bunch of other little addons you can pick from as well but these are some that i use and can't seem to recommend enough tbh!

Excuse me please,
I just saw your post about BTE and LTE and I'm confused. I currently use the LTE on firefox and I have the older version of xkit on here since that's what works for me with the control panel and everything. Is there a problem where posts I edit using LTE with xkit are not able to be edited by someone using the BTE and some other version of xkit? I'm not sure what all is going on.
this post explains everything!
but basically. tumblr introduced the beta editor as the editor that corresponds with the new post format that they implemented in 2018. they're still working on the editor itself so that's why it's called beta.
posts made with the legacy editor use the old code, which has a lot of glitches and errors.
because the coding of posts has been rewritten, xkit rewritten's trim reblogs feature does not work with posts made OR reblogged with the legacy editor (because it converts the post into the old code)
plus, to edit legacy posts you would use new xkit's editable reblogs. new xkit has not been updated or maintained in years, so it's causing a lot of glitches. most notoriously the glitch where drafts get posted when you try to save it.
new users no longer can toggle between beta and legacy, there's no toggle at all. and from what i've seen on the dash a lot of older accounts are beginning to lose the toggle as well, which means tumblr is retiring legacy posts altogether (as it was always planned)
the problem for us roleplayers is that if you make a post or reblog a post with the legacy editor, other people won't be able to cut their replies. so we all need to switch at the same time.
i hope that explains it! still check out that post, they include screenshots and it's easier to follow.

The Signia Silk Charge&Go 5 IX Hearing Aid: Revolutionizing Hearing Solutions
In recent years, advancements in hearing aid technology have significantly improved the quality of life for those with hearing impairments. The Signia Silk Charge&Go 5 IX is one such device that stands out due to its innovative features, user-friendly design, and superior performance. This blog explores the key aspects of the Signia Silk Charge&Go 5 IX hearing aid, shedding light on why it is a remarkable choice for individuals seeking an effective hearing solution.
Cutting-Edge Technology
The Signia Silk Charge&Go 5 IX integrates state-of-the-art technology to provide a seamless and enhanced hearing experience. One of its standout features is the use of binaural processing, which allows for better spatial awareness and improved speech understanding in noisy environments. This technology mimics the natural way our ears process sound, making it easier for users to pinpoint the direction of sounds and engage in conversations even in challenging listening situations.
Another notable technological advancement in the Silk Charge&Go 5 IX is its use of Own Voice Processing (OVP). This feature ensures that the user's own voice sounds natural and comfortable, addressing a common issue where hearing aid users find their voice to be too loud or unnatural. By distinguishing the user's voice from external sounds, OVP enhances overall speech clarity and communication comfort.
Discreet and Comfortable Design
The design of the Signia Silk Charge&Go 5 IX is tailored for discretion and comfort. Unlike traditional behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids, this model is an in-the-ear (ITE) device that fits snugly within the ear canal. Its small size and flesh-toned color make it nearly invisible, offering a discreet solution for those who are self-conscious about wearing a hearing aid.
Comfort is another crucial aspect of the Silk Charge&Go 5 IX. The device comes with soft silicone sleeves that ensure a secure and comfortable fit. These sleeves are available in different sizes to accommodate various ear shapes and sizes, providing a personalized fit for each user. The flexibility and softness of the silicone materials also help prevent irritation and discomfort, even during extended wear.
Rechargeable Convenience
One of the most significant advantages of the Signia Silk Charge&Go 5 IX is its rechargeable capability. Traditional hearing aids often rely on disposable batteries, which can be inconvenient and costly over time. The Silk Charge&Go 5 IX, however, comes with a built-in lithium-ion battery that can be easily recharged using the included charger.
This rechargeable feature offers several benefits. Firstly, it eliminates the need for constantly purchasing and replacing batteries, providing both convenience and cost savings. Secondly, the device can be fully charged in just a few hours, offering up to 19 hours of continuous use on a single charge. This extended battery life ensures that users can rely on their hearing aid throughout the day without worrying about running out of power.
Advanced Connectivity
Modern hearing aids are increasingly incorporating connectivity features that enhance user experience, and the Signia Silk Charge&Go 5 IX is no exception. This device is equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to stream audio directly from their smartphones, tablets, or other Bluetooth-enabled devices. Whether it's taking phone calls, listening to music, or watching videos, the seamless audio streaming capability ensures that users can enjoy high-quality sound without the need for additional accessories.
Additionally, the Signia Silk Charge&Go 5 IX is compatible with the Signia app, which provides users with greater control and customization options. Through the app, users can adjust settings, switch between different listening programs, and monitor battery levels. The app also offers a remote control function, enabling discreet adjustments to the hearing aid settings without needing to touch the device itself.
Personalized Hearing Experience
Every individual's hearing needs are unique, and the Signia Silk Charge&Go 5 IX recognizes this by offering a highly personalized hearing experience. The device can be programmed and fine-tuned by a hearing care professional to match the user's specific hearing profile. This customization ensures that users receive optimal amplification and sound quality tailored to their hearing loss and preferences.
The hearing aid also features adaptive sound processing, which automatically adjusts settings based on the listening environment. Whether in a quiet room, a busy restaurant, or an outdoor setting, the Silk Charge&Go 5 IX adapts to provide the best possible sound quality. This adaptability reduces the need for manual adjustments and allows users to enjoy a seamless listening experience in various situations.
Durability and Reliability
Durability is a crucial consideration for any hearing aid, and the Signia Silk Charge&Go 5 IX is built to withstand daily wear and tear. The device is designed with robust materials that offer resistance to moisture, dust, and debris, ensuring reliable performance even in challenging conditions. This durability extends the lifespan of the hearing aid, providing users with a long-term investment in their hearing health.
Furthermore, the Silk Charge&Go 5 IX comes with a protective carrying case that not only safeguards the device but also doubles as a charger. This case provides a convenient and secure way to store and transport the hearing aid, adding an extra layer of protection against potential damage.
Conclusion
The Signia Silk Charge&Go 5 IX hearing aid is a remarkable device that combines cutting-edge technology, discreet design, and user-friendly features to deliver an exceptional hearing experience. Its binaural, Own Voice, and adaptive sound processing ensure superior sound quality and speech understanding. The rechargeable battery, advanced connectivity options, and personalized fit further enhance its convenience and usability.
For individuals seeking a reliable, comfortable, and high-performing hearing aid, the Signia Silk Charge&Go 5 IX is a top contender. By addressing common challenges faced by hearing aid users and incorporating innovative solutions, Signia has created a device that improves hearing and enhances overall quality of life. Whether it's engaging in conversations, enjoying multimedia content, or navigating different listening environments, the Silk Charge&Go 5 IX empowers users to experience the world of sound with confidence and clarity.

Everything You Need to Know About Smartphone-Ready Hearing Aids
If you are one of the millions of people who suffer from hearing loss, you know that it can be difficult to manage everyday life. Hearing aids in Sri Lanka are a common solution for people with such difficulties, but what if your lifestyle does not allow for traditional devices? If you are always on the go, or just don't want to deal with the hassle of carrying around extra equipment, smartphone-ready hearing aids may be a good option for you! You can buy these digital hearing aids online in Sri Lanka easily and conveniently through reputed dealers.
What are smartphone-ready hearing aids and what do they do?
These devices are equipped with Bluetooth technology that allows them to connect wirelessly to your smartphone. This way, you can use your phone as a remote control to adjust the settings on your device. You can also use apps on your phone to help customize the sound of your aid, or even stream audio directly to your device!
If you have an active lifestyle, or are always on the go, these devices can be a great option for you. They offer many features and benefits that traditional options just can't match.
Here are some things to consider if you're thinking about making the switch to smartphone-ready hearing aids:
Do I want a hands-free experience? If you are looking for something that you can control without having to fiddle with buttons, these types are a great option.
What level of customization do I need? If you need an aid that can be tailored to your specific needs, these smart phone compatible models are worth considering. With apps and other tools, you can adjust the sound to better suit your unique needs.
Do I want to stream audio directly to my hearing aid? If you are looking for a way to listen to music or other audio without having to wear headphones, streaming is a great option. Many smartphone-ready devices come with this feature built in.
Is battery life important to me? One of the biggest benefits of these models is the ability to use rechargeable batteries. This can be a major advantage if you are worried about running out of power while you are on the go.
What other features are important to me? When choosing one of these types of options, it is important to consider what other features are important to you. Some models come with built-in GPS tracking, while others include Bluetooth connectivity for easy pairing with your favourite devices.
No matter what your needs are, there is a smartphone-ready hearing aid that is right for you. With so many options on the market, it is easy to find one that fits your lifestyle and budget.
How do you know if you need a hearing aid or not?
Hearing loss is extremely common among both adults and children. In fact, one in three adults over the age of 65 experiences some degree of loss. If you think you or a loved one may be experiencing a similar condition, it is important to see a doctor for a professional evaluation.
There are a few different types of tests that can be used to diagnose this problem. The most common is called an audiogram, which measures how well you hear different frequencies of sound.
If you are diagnosed with such a condition, your doctor will likely recommend treatment with a hearing aid. They are small devices that amplify sound and make it easier to hear conversations and other sounds around you.
What are the different types of hearing aids available on the market today?
These devices come in many different shapes and sizes, and can be tailored to your specific needs. The most common type is the behind-the-ear (BTE) style, which consists of a small case that fits behind your ear and a plastic tube that runs into your ear canal.
Other types include in-the-ear (ITE) styles, which fit inside the bowl-shaped area of your outer ear, and completely-in-canal (CIC) styles, which are custom made to fit snugly inside your ear canal.
Depending on the severity of your condition, you may need a device that delivers more power than what is available in over-the-counter options. In this case, you will need to see an audiologist or other professional to be fitted for a prescription hearing aid.
If you have mild to moderate loss, you may be able to find an OTC aid that meets your needs. These devices are available without a prescription and can be purchased online or in some stores.
When shopping for a hearing aid, it is important to keep in mind that not all devices are created equal. Some may offer features that others don't, so it is important to do your research before making a purchase. In addition, you need to also check whether you can get hearing aid batteries online in Sri Lanka or your device easily, otherwise you it will be a hassle looking for accessories such as these to suit your specific device.
One feature to look for is Bluetooth connectivity. This allows you to pair your aid with your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device. This can be helpful if you want to use your phone to stream audio directly to your unit or if you want to use a compatible app. If you are looking for something that offers both Bluetooth connectivity and rechargeability, there are several options available on the market.
Another feature to look for is rechargeability. This can be helpful if you don't want to deal with changing batteries on a regular basis. Some devices come with a charging case that allows you to charge it on the go.
If you are not sure which hearing aid is right for you, be sure to consult with a qualified audiologist. They will be able to help you find the perfect device to suit your needs.
Are there any risks associated with using a smartphone-ready hearing aid that you should be aware of before making your purchase decision?
While there are some risks associated with using any type of option, the risks associated with them are relatively low. The biggest risk is that you may lose your device if it falls out of your ear while you are using your phone. However, this risk can be minimized by choosing one that comes with a secure fit.
Another risk to consider is that your aid could be damaged by water if you are not careful. If you are going to be using it in an environment where there is a lot of water (such as the shower), be sure to choose a waterproof model.
Finally, keep in mind that all electronic devices come with some degree of EMF radiation. While the amount of EMF radiation emitted by these types of units is low, it is still something to be aware of. If you are concerned about EMF radiation, choose one that comes with an EMF shield.
Overall, the risks associated with smartphone-ready hearing aids are relatively low. With a little bit of care and caution, you can enjoy all the benefits that these devices have to offer.

Have another post about being hard of hearing/deaf and nursing! . . This one is a little more about the tools I use, how they work for me, struggles and a whole lot of honesty. . . I have severe sensorineural hearing loss, it’s related to a genetic connective tissue disorder that affects myself and two of my brothers to varying degrees. I wear bilateral behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids from @phonak, these with the Compilot Air 2 are Bluetooth capable. . . I have and use the @thinklabsmedical One stethoscope, which connects via an auxiliary cable to my com pilot so that the sounds are directly routed to my hearing aids making them much easier to hear and adjust the pitch so it’s better for me- similarly the hearing aids block out background noise so it can focus on assessing what I hear. I use my ThinkLabs One stethoscope in class, during OSCEs and learning opportunities. Unfortunately I find the One Stethoscope to be uncomfortable to use, hard to store/wear, and unrealistic in some clinical situations. I love the sounds it produces but it’s hard to unwind all of the cables, and pull it in and out of pockets when switching quickly between storage and use- especially when PPE gowns are necessary. . . Due to those reasons I also obtained the @3mlittmann 3200 Electronic stethoscope! The sounds are 24 x louder than a regular stethoscope and is Bluetooth capable! I wish it was compatible with @apple products but my lovely fiancé has a windows computer that I can use to view the sounds. This stethoscope makes me feel more “nurse-y”, hangs around my neck, sits in my pocket comfortably, and is more suitable for me in clinical settings, the only down side is I have to pocket my hearing aids (thank the lord for breast pockets) in order to use it. . . Both stethoscopes have their advantages and their places. Both were major investments into my future career so you’ve been warned 😂 they’re expensive but so worth it! . . #deafnurse #hohnurse #nurse #nursetobe #nursingstudent #studentnurse #nursingschool #nursetobe #nurseinthemaking #nursesofig #nursesofinstagram #nurblr #stethoscope #pink #worldsokayestnurse #cna #psw #rn #rpn #lpn #lvn #rntobe #bsn #bscn #bscntobe https://www.instagram.com/p/BxohaRjhoE-/?igshid=1vfzxz2jpoxw3

"#fics where tony makes the whole tower and not just clint's floor accessible also makes me happy af" excuse me but i need these fics pls for science
Hmmmmm. I’m not sure I have anything -explicitly- about that, it’s usually in the details, but I’ll see what I can find! Here are my bookmarks for things that were tagged with Deaf Clint Barton, though, for starters.
But, okay, let’s see... This is probably going to devolve into something a little more general, but, eh. Mostly because one of the really common things is Tony making better hearing aids for Clint, which isn’t so much about the tower.
Titanium
Okay, tbf, it is on Clint’s floor in this one, but I think it’s reasonable to assume these features would be everywhere in the tower.
He creeps down the hallway, mentally accounting for the odd angles that he had Tony leave in the apartment. They make for great cover, but are terrible for sightlines.
[okay, not so much about accessibility, but Tony accepting the designs requests of one of his paranoid superspies, yes pls]
--------
“Just give me a second, I can’t hear anything you’re saying.” He taps the one corner of the counter he’s kept clean ever since Tony installed this feature. The counter lights up and displays a blinking cursor in the corner. “Okay, now talk. JARVIS will let me know what you’re saying
”Why do you need JARVIS to tell you what I’m saying? lights up the counter for Clint to read.
--------
The lights flash. On. Off. Beat. On. Beat. Off.
It’s the code that he worked out with JARVIS for non-world-ending emergencies.
Call to the Colour-blind
“What was that?” Bucky asks, pointing at where the light was on, next to a modern atrocity that Tony said was a chandelier. Clint follows his gaze and nods in realisation.
“It comes on whenever JARVIS is interacting with me. If I don’t have my hearing aids in, writing will appear on the nearest surface - like subtitles?” Clint explains and Bucky nods, interested. “Stark designed it when I told him about my hearing problems - he likes to be helpful,” Clint’s voice drops into a whisper, conspiratorially low. Bucky smiles.
“Doesn’t like people to know he has a bleeding heart?” Bucky suggests and Clint grins.
Clint Barton’s Super Secret Snipers’ Club
When he gets into the workshop, Tony is sitting at his desk, slouched back in his chair with a tumbler of what looks like whiskey in hand. He’s still in his suit trousers, white shirt and red tie, though the shirt is rumpled, the sleeves rolled up and the tie pulled loose. Not a good sign. Clint keys in his code and the door opens, and he steps in cautiously.
“What’s up? Skybot said you wanted me.”
“Upgrades,” Tony says, and picks something up off the desk, spinning his chair around to face Clint. His eyes are suspiciously bright, and Clint isn’t sure how much he’s had to drink. He hates being around Tony when he’s drunk like this; he trusts Tony but it still sets him on edge.
Clint steps forwards and his brows shoot up in surprise as he sees what can only be two minute in-ear hearing aids held in Tony’s fingers. He walks forwards and takes them, looking at them closely.
“You did these tonight?”
“You’ll get fourteen thousand hertz at about 16 decibels with those, instead of the thirteen thousand five hundred at twenty that you get at the minute,” Tony says vaguely. “Quite a jump on paper, but I guess you’ll have to tell me how much difference it makes.”
“Should be able to hear Hill whispering that she’ll throttle me across the table,” Clint says, impressed. “But only if Fury isn’t threatening me at the same time.”
Tony snorts, eyes fixed on his monitor. “Still having trouble with background noise?”
“Sometimes,” Clint says. “Thanks.”
--------
He’s in his room attaching fletchings to a new set of arrows when his phone flashes at him; a familiar blue light that tells him Jarvis has a message for him.
“What’s up, Jarvis?” he asks as he puts down the glue and reaches for the phone. A line of text appears on the screen.
Someone is trying to get your attention. You may want to turn your ears on.
“May want to turn your ears on,” Clint mimics in his best approximation of a British accent, dropping the arrow and pushing himself up off the floor. “What was Stark thinking when he programmed you.”
Another line of text appears.
Clearly he was thinking about how best to utilize me to annoy and frustrate his fellow Avengers.
--------
“Have you still got my old BTE’s?” Clint asks, and Tony sends him a pained look.
“What did you do to the new ones?”
“Just slept in them, want to give my ears a breather.”
Looking at him curiously, Tony cocks his head. “Why not just go deaf for the day?”
Clint shrugs, evasive. “Not an option today.”
Tony mutters something that Clint doesn’t catch, but seems to realize what he’s done straight away. “Everyone is having a shit day, it seems,” he says, and walks over to one of the cabinets. He digs around in a drawer that’s labelled Hawkeye - and that doesn’t leave Clint feeling a little odd at all - and then comes up with his old hearing aids. Well, he says old, but they certainly weren’t purple last time he wore them.
“What did you do?” he asks as he slips them on. They feel strange behind his ears after so long, but he’s just relieved to have them.
“Well I wasn’t just going to upgrade the one set, was I?” Tony says, and glances back towards the rear of the workshop.
“I love you,” Clint announces as he switches them on and Tony’s voices comes though amazingly clear. Hell yeah he upgraded them, this is awesome. He can hear just as well with these as the new ones.
--------
“It moves as well as your real hand,” he says, and Bucky lifts it, flexes his fingers absently, staring down at the metal that’s shining dully in the light.
“Yeah, until it doesn’t,” he says deprecatingly. “When Stevie bought me here, he said there was someone who’d be able to do maintenance on it. Fix it up if anything went wrong.”
“Well he wasn’t lying,” Clint says. “You trust Tony to touch it?”
Bucky shrugs. “Steve trusts him,” he says, but Clint hears the unspoken ‘but I’m not sure I do,’ that’s obvious in the hitch of his shoulder, the twist of his mouth.
“I trust him to make my ears,” Clint says, reaching up and tapping the hearing aids. He's still wearing the BTE's; Bucky has admitted that he finds it easier when he knows if Clint can hear or not, and the in-ear hearing aids are all but impossible to spot. It's a small concession to make, so Clint doesn't mind.
Bucky’s eyebrows go up slightly. “Yeah,” he says slowly, like he’d not thought of that. “Yeah, I guess. But they’re not attached to you. I’d have to be there in person."
I know there have definitely been others, but I either didn’t love them enough to bookmark, or they’re not tagged, but I’ll keep skimming through my general Clint bookmarks, if you’d like ♥

ADDITIONAL SUGGESTIONS FOR THOSE USING BETA TEXT EDITOR
so a little over a week ago ( and before my OG source blog go terminated ), i made a post giving some suggestions on what to do if you're stuck using BTE. the only problem with this not everybody has the time to read all of the mutuals' rules all day, everyday. this is why it's beneficial to make posts every now and again, "hey. i've updated my rules. pls read them i'd greatly appreciate it." and then go on your merry way. however! there are a couple of other ways i think everyone should go about this to make things easier:
continue to put in your rules that you're permanently using BTE + XKIT REWRITTEN. this lets all of your new followers know that they need to use BTE with you.
state in your starters for people that you're stuck using BTE + XKIT REWRITTEN. this is super useful because it lets them know right then and there that you need them to reply via BTE. and you'll be able to tell if they read the tags or not based on their reply and if they post anything ooc in the tags.
make all of your initial starters / asks / etc. via BTE. this actually saves a lot of time for literally everyone because those who use LTE will still be able to edit it just fine and those stuck in BTE won't have to worry about it hardcore glitching.
when making your first reply to a starter or whatever, let said RP partner know you're stuck in BTE. especially if you hadn't roleplayed with them yet. this lets them know that they'll have to use BTE when roleplaying with you.
this one might be a bit tedious but open up a word document and jot down who is and isn't stuck using BTE. i know this isn't exactly what anyone wants to hear but it's there and it works. it's really no different than saving your tags into it!
and last ... but not least ... permanently switch to BTE. i know, i know. this suggestions sucks. but i honestly think this is one of those cases where "better late than never" doesn't work because at least you're getting an understanding on how it works before it's permanently integrated on the website for everyone. so ... in other words ... "the sooner the better".
the reason i bring up the last bullet point is because anyone who has made a brand new blog on or after november 26, 2022 is permanently stuck using BTE. so that's definitely something to keep in mind if / when you decide to make a whole new blog anytime soon ( if ever from here on out ).
