OnS Theories (23S). First Theory and Analsys - Urd and Rigr. The past and the future. Forgotten Present
Hello everyone, after so long, I welcome you to a new theory, I must say that after a long break, it feels nice to return to update theories. (To be honest, I’ve been busy with stuff, this time I wish it was slacking but it comes between getting busy along a bit of feeling not so motivated, but anyways, let’s pull through these theories to the very end!)
I hope everyone’s alright, make sure to stay healthy dear readers!
P.S: Theories are held within a neutral view and ships are excluded.
“People lament that there is always a precedent for trying something new. But everything that the future brings will be similar to something from the past. But nothing like the present will ever come again, nor has it ever existed “
-Kouhei Kadono, Inside the Apocalypse Castle
Back in the chapter analysis, I focused on the characters that made its appearance after so long, which of course, are the vampire Progenitors; of course, within this, there’s such a quote that truthfully applies to the main two Progenitors that took different paths, who do I mean?
Correct. Those are Rigr Stafford and Urd Geales.
But, what does the quote above have to do with them?
It’s well known that humans alone seek progress, they envision the future as promising, but, within the story, this is something that it’s not only applied to humans but vampires too, what do I mean?
Rigr Stafford - Saito: Vampire living in the future
Rigr Stafford who is better known as Saito is a fine example of that and that’s heavily reflected on the latest chapter:
Tumblr media
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 105
The very first thing Rigr understood within the amount of time he spent with Urd as the remaining two Progenitors that sticked together was, “what was the purpose of staying?”
The question alone seems like a rebellious phase even to some extend, but in fact, there’s something else behind; just like he stated after this panel, he envisioned an Utopia for vampires, but why?
That’s because the First Progenitor, by the time he sired the very first vampires, he made illusions for them, promising dreams that were a possibility but just like the phrase “Sometime it snows in April”, when a possibility is presented, it depends a lot how it’s handled down; in this case, all the vampires believed there would be an endless dream, a perfect world that is labeled as Utopia which at the very end, it ended up disappearing without notice.
But now, you might wonder, what does this have to do with him seeing the “future”?
Rigr didn’t want to stay behind and remain stuck with the old times, he wanted a change, he wanted answers; he wasn’t satisfied with the current life he had; and thus, he decided to leave, but within this, there’s something curious, what do I mean?
Among all the vampires that don’t know why they exist, that question their existance, Rigr technically bestowed his brother, another second Progenitor the key to what defined a human, what could it be?
Correct:
Tumblr media
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 105
Indeed, Rigr gave Urd a reason to live even if it meant making him have a negative view towards him for abandoning him after the First did. And thus, this was the first stone Rigr set into the future, and with the flow of time, he reached the current self, the one that diistortioned its own body in order to defeat the threat of the world, which is no less than the First Progenitor.
But why do I state that even between the two Progenitors there’s a forgotten present?
Before that, let’s talk about Urd.
Urd Geales: Vampire living in the past
Urd is well known to represent order which is something considered by many such as @black-sapphire57 , @mikaisyuudere, and @sonali6661.
But even still, even if Urd is a figure that decided to take care of the vampires, that decided to shoulder the responsibility the First had:

There’s something rather interesting within Urd, what do I mean?
Urd Geales despite being a character that shows discipline, along the authority figure he is towards the Vampire Society, Urd is the type that doesn’t accept changes well, what do I mean?
After the First Progenitor decided to leave the Vampire Council along with his Apostles or chosen ones, the vampire society he managed to create entered in a phase of negation, expecting the First to eventually return and take them with him, but even with such dream, the First Progenitor never came back until 1 000 years later when he gave away his presence:
Tumblr media
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 74
Urd Geales took full responsibility of the Vampires that eventually left by their own, he might have designed them which territory to rule underground, without the sight of humans along the laws that were made by him and Rigr many years ago; and, within this, it wasn’t needed to say that many vampires thought the same as Urd; they were afraid of changes, they treasured a lot the past that used to be their lifestyle, even if it was a different path from humanity, they enjoyed their carefree life, that time wasn’t something that could worry them, the fact they had their sire with them to guide them against the world.
And the very fact that an opportunity of “change” presents, it has been reflected with doubt and a discret fear:
Tumblr media
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 68
Back in the old chapters when Urd, Ky and Lest attempted to interrogate Krul Tepes, they had a small clash of ideals, what do I mean?
Correct. For Krul, the ways and methods they dealt with the problems were obsolete to the point that even if they tried to find a solution, in fact, they wouldn’t; which, to surprise of many, the first one to take the step of taking action was Ky Luc.
This only allowed the other Progenitors to proceed into knowing what exactly happened in the past that was unkonwn to them along the actions they could take for the future that was bound to come.
But now, what do I mean by statingthat both Urd and Rigr have forgotten the present?
This question might seem to some point confusing but in fact, it’s rather simple; what do I mean?
Both Urd and Rigr decided to stay or choose their respective ideals; they decided what it was best for their own.
In Urd’s case, he considered that remaining the same way as the Vampire Council was made, was the best way to keep order, to keep old traditions and costumes in order; but, time never forgives, time keeps flowing despite inmortality, everything changes around the world, and this was something the Vampire Progenitors that decided to abide the Rules noticed.
Tumblr media
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 68
They noticed that the World made a drastic change; that humans weren’t the same compared to those they met millenia ago; in contrast, they entered to forbidden zones, they even touched taboos that which for them were considered acts of violation of the rules made by the First, Urd and Rigr.
In Rigr’s case, he considered that the First Progenitor didn’t leave just out of interest, but rather, he discovered the secrets he hid from the Progenitors, what he considered to do, his goals and ambitions that would eventually affect the World he once knew but, why did he take the risk if he was a vampire?
Despite being a vampire, and just like Ferid:
Tumblr media
Image taken from Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign - Chapter 91
Indeed, he was seeking for an answer to the same question most vampires ask, which is their reason to live and the meaning of life.
Furthermore, this discovery of how the world was dancing in the palm of the First was revealed in the World Resurrection at 19 LNs, when Guren finally had a time to speak with Rigr Stafford, along learning facts of how the First Progenitor dealt with the world and chose what would prevail and fall; all together with the fact on how Rigr himself altered the Ichinose DNA.
But once again, why is it that both forgot the present when they’re living it?
Forgetting the present isn’t something literal but rahter, if the mind aims for the future and dismisses everything that’s going around, then the answers for what the present beholds are eternally lost, what do I mean?
The Vampire Progenitors and Rigr Stafford have an enemy in common to some extend; in Rigr’s case, his main target is the First Progenitor yet he dismisses the fact that the JIDA has self awareness that the monster they’re fighting is the very same enemy Rigr pursuits; so it applies with the squad and the duo of Mahiru and Guren along the integration of Krul, Ferid and Crowley.
In Urd’s case, he still can’t acknowledge the very fact that the threat is the First Progenitor and this is, to some levels understandable, he was fond of something that was built millenia ago, he treasured what was built at such time until everything was laid on his shoulders.
Urd considers as threat humankind and depending on the answer, the First Progenitor along Rigr Stafford for walking into the forbidden, for abandoning his duties from the Vampire Council and most of all, for all the things he has done, altering many things such as his body along those who decided to follow him.
It is to say that this lack of visualization of the Present isn’t something that’ll be permanent, in fact, it can be said that chapters will escalate sooner or later, they’ll make the world reach its peak and breakdown which only leaves for a future truce between those who want to keep seeing a tomorrow and possibily, a goodbye for the everlasting lifespan they were granted.
What do you think dear readers?
Let me know!

If Danganronpa: Another Despair Academy had an English cast
So I recently made a post very similar to this where I talked about who a hypothetical English voice cast for Our World Is Ended would be. I kind of enjoyed making that post, so I decided to do something similar with the cast of a Danganronpa fan game that has been featured prominently on my chanel and that’s the Danganronpa: Another series. Being a Korean fan game, the original dub of Danganronpa Another has barely any dialogue to speak of. In fact, the only two characters in the series who speak often are Yuki and Sora, the protagonists of the two games, but that’s when they’re in trials. As of right now, a group of people is working on an English dub for the second game. This is why I’m specifically going to talk about the first game in the series, and bare in mind 2 things.
1) There will be some pretty heavy spoilers that I talk about in this post, so if you’re going to read it, please play the game, watch a playthrough or read up on it first.
2) If by any chance the first game gets a dub and the following people I do mention end up voicing the characters, I assure you it is purely coincidental. I wouldn’t even call this a hypothetical scenario so much as I’d call it a basic thought process of my weird weird mind.
Without further ado, let’s begin.
Yuki Maeda: Yuri Lowenthal
Tumblr media
In the current dub for the second game, Yuki is being voiced by a user by the name of Soluri, who is pretty talented in their right, but my thought process for an alternative voice actor would be this. Yuki as a protagonist takes a very similar standing as Makoto Naegi and Hajime Hinata, whom are voiced by Bryce Papenbrook and Johnny Yong Bosch respectively, so if I was given a choice to choose who could voice act him, then I think Yuri Lowenthal would be a fitting choice, since he’s also often voiced protagonists. Being someone who often does work in famous franchises, his voice work includes Marth from Fire Emblem, Yosuke Hanamura in Persona, Ben Tennyson in many Ben 10 works, Klavier Gavin in Ace Attorney, Simon in Gurren Lagann and Suzaku from Code Geass. However, he’d also be a fitting choice since I believe he’d be able to do a good job as both the somwhat cowardly and submissive Yuki as well as the mysterious and somewhat stoically dangerous Utsuro, as he is also the main VA for Sasuke in Naruto and Alucard in Castlevania.
Akane Taira: Monica Rial
Tumblr media
Akane’s basic character throughout the majority of the game is that she’s lighthearted and even though the killing game is getting to her just as much as everyone else, she still finds a way to lighten the atmosphere, and is a usually cheery and kind person, if a little scary when angry. However, her true nature is something much more freakish, being, in actuality, the mastermind behind the aforementioned killing game that she spends a lot of the game seemingly fighting against. For an English VA, I think the best bet is Monica Rial, who has previously voiced in Danganronpa as Sayaka Maizono in the Danganronpa anime. The reason for my choice is she has previously voiced usually nice, if a little stern, characters like Bulma from Dragon Ball, Tsuyu Asui from My Hero Academia, May Chang from Full Metal Alchemist, Tsubaki from Soul Eater, Kayano from Assassination Classroom, Mirajane Strauss from Fairy Tale and Sakura from CardCaptor Sakura. However, she’s not one to shy away from maniacal villains, or generally creepy characters either, also voicing Tanya from Saga of Tanya the Evil, Krul Tepes from Seraph of the End or Stocking from Panty and Stocking. Also doing the voice of Misaki Ayuzawa from Maid Sama and Mey-rin in Black Butler, she’s not new to voicing maid characters.
Tsurugi Kinjo: Crispin Freeman
Tumblr media
Having already done voice work in a main Danganronpa game, albeit for a very unlikable character, I ruled out Matthew Mercer for this one. I can only really describe Tsurugi as the Nagito Komaeda of this series. He has good intentions, but a really messed up way of thinking, even at times quite self-deprecating and reflecting on his own incapabilities to stop the killing game and catch the mastermind. Like I already said, he seems like he’d be voiced by a deep voiced character like Matt Mercer, but when it comes to characters like that, Crispin Freeman is a safe bet. Some of the rightous and/or badass characters that he’s lent his voice to include Winston from Overwatch, Kyon in the Haruhi Suzumiya series, Tsume in Wolf’s Rain and more, but can also do a pretty good crazy character every once in a while, like Alucard from Hellsing, Itachi Uchiha from Naruto and Firefly in the Batman Arkham Series.
Rei Mekaru: Laura Post
Tumblr media
Admittedly, I was considering Monica Rial for this crude and shrewd character too. Mature and professional to a fault, barely showing any sort of real emotion and often insulting the other killing game participants for seemingly no reason, Rei is basically Another 2′s Byakuya Togami, intelligent, but rude. Having previously voiced condescending characters, Laura Post is a pretty good choice. I’m referring mostly to characters like Kill La Kill’s Ragyo Kiryuin and Fubuki/Blizzard from Hell from One Punch Man, as well as Diana Cavendish from Little Witch Academia and one of her first ever performances, Queen Nehelenia from Sailor Moon. However, Laura Post has also voiced rather gentle and friendly characters before, which would be a good way to highlight Rei’s secret soft side. Characters like Nozomi Tojo from Love Live and her most recent role, Kasumi Yoshizawa from Persona 5 Royal.
Haruhiko “Haru”  Kobashikawa: Sam Riegal
Tumblr media
The minute I was introduced to him, I immediately thought, “Ok, he’s going to be the Kazuichi of this game isn’t he?” And to be honest, I don’t think I was that far off. However, even so, he seems more like Kaito if Kaito wasn’t necessarily a central character. Haru’s important, but he’s on the same level of importance as a character like say...Game 1 Toko. A sociable person who’s only goal is to get along well with everyone, he’s cheerful, laid back and more often than not pretty amusing to watch. Someone I believe to be fit for the role, having previously voiced a repertoire of pretty dorky and likeable characters, is Sam Riegal. By that, I mean he’s done the voice work of Teddy from Persona, Phoenix Wright in Ace Attorney, Emperor Awesome in Wander of Yonder,  Kanata from Trinity Universe, Shirou Emiya from Fate/Stay Night and Donatello in a large number of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles works.
Teruya Otori: Kyle McCarly
Tumblr media
Teruya is a character that returns for the second game, and his voice actor in that is NuzikVA. I was really stuck on this one, since Yuri Lowenthal, whom I picked for Yuki, was my main option for Teruya too, but my second option for him would be just as viable. One of Teruya’s most important aspects to his character is that he has a pretty unique western accent despite being Japanese, since his Ultimate Merchant talent means he’s travelled the world and picked up on a few things. On top of that, he’s pretty adorkable and a little childish. I’ve heard Yuri Lowenthal do accents before, which is why I considered it, but I figured anything Yuri Lowenthal can do, Kyle McCarly can do just as well, if not better. He’s a voice actor who’s lines are packed full of expression and some of his previous work includes 9S from Neir: Automata, Hyde in Cross Tag Battle, Hal in Astral Chain, Gatekeeper in Fire Emblem Three Houses and Narancia in JoJo Part 5.
Satsuki Iranami: Deva Marie Gregory
Tumblr media
While she was a character that I found initially very irritating and she was definitely the one I had to warm to the most, I won’t deny that Satsuki Iranami is like 70% of the humour and happiness in this game. Similarly to Ibuki, she tends to act childish and make jokes in very tense situations and as described by Yuki as “a person that makes you tired just by talking with her” or something along those lines. Now, this might seem like a pretty obscure and strange choice for a VA, but my choice for a voice is Deva Marie Gregory. It’s obscure, since she is relatively new to the voice acting industry, only voicing one character in one franchise so far. However, that character is Flayn from Fire Emblem Three Houses, arguably one of the characters with the more comedic dialogue. I can totally picture her playing an “In-your-face” practical joker character like Satsuki, making common wisecracks, and it’s something I’d really like to bear witness to.
Mitsuhiro “Mitch” Higa: Joe Brogie
Tumblr media
Possibly my least favourite character in this game, he’s essentially a worse version of Leon Kuwata from the first game. He’s genuinely kind of a chill guy, but his status as the Ultimate Soccer Player and his world fame makes him more than a little arrogant and cocky and often ignores people who he doesn’t care for. Joe Brogie is my choice for him, despite being a relatively new voice actor. His previous work includes the player character from God Eater 3, Linus from Fire Emblem Heroes, Donatello from Injustice 2 and Sylvain Jose Gautier from Fire Emblem Three Houses. However, despite his few roles and lacking history of voices, he’s talented and capable nonetheless.
Kizuna Tomori: Tia Ballard
Tumblr media
Kizuna can be described in the following words: Cutesy, flirtatious and distrustful. I know those phrases sound mutually exclusive to each other, but trust me, it’s true. Obviously, her nature just changes depending on the situation, since she’s lighthearted and merry more often than not, but in a tense situation becomes suspicious, snappy and even physically violent. I picture her having a high voice, and when taking her character into account, I think the best bet is Tia Ballard. The main reason for my choice is that Tia’s most common voices belong to generally “moe” anime girls, but she voices them in a way that doesn’t sound annoyingly high pitched like how Stephanie Sheh does with Mikan in Danganronpa 2. If Ballard voiced Kizuna, she could pretty much perfectly land the “cutesy at first, but angry when provoked” attitude that Kizuna has. Some of her previous work includes Marron from Dragon Ball, Happy from Fairy Tail, Chiho Sasaki from The Devil is a Part Timer, Takao from D-Frag, Zero Two from Darling in the Franxx and has actually voiced in Danganronpa previously as Daisaku Bandai in Danganronpa 3.
Mikako Kurokawa: Brittany Cox
Tumblr media
Extremely similarly to my choice for Satsuki, my choice for Mikako has also only ever been in one game, and it’s the same game as my choice for Satsuki actually. Mikako is a quiet person and she isn’t much of a talker, and when she does she sticks to short replies after long periods of silence, often causing people to forget she's around or becoming surprised when she eventually speaks up. She is unresponsive in a conversation and avoids making eye contact with anyone she talks to which seems rude, but her past explains why. The character Brittany Cox plays in Three Houses is Ingrid Galatea, who is generally a pretty merry, if a little serious and motherly, character, who’s personality isn’t a quiet one. However, while her voice acting is really good, Brittany Cox has a bit of a stoic, monotone and quiet voice, that I believe would fit Mikako perfectly.
Kinji Uehara: Robbie Daymond
Tumblr media
There were a few reasons why I chose this person for this characters voice, but I’ll talk about those in a moment. Kinji is the good type of priest, one who is serious and quiet, but is a good listener, and respectful of people to a point where he doesn’t force his religious ideals onto others. However, when put under immense amounts of pressure, he can break down and turn somewhat psychotic. Hence my choice for his voice actor. Robbie Daymond is a personal favourite of mine, since he has a special talent of playing characters such as Goro Akechi and Hubert Vestra, from Persona and Three Houses respectively; characters who for the most part are calm, reserved, quiet and in Akechi’s case, somewhat kind. However, after certain points in the games stories, the two characters turn inexplicably evil and crazy, and the voice work and the shift in tone has such an amazing range that it’s hard to believe it’s the same guy. Seriously, look up Daymond’s work as Akechi, it’s honestly amazing and is the type of voice I’d honestly expect for Kinji when he breaks down. Alongside those two roles, Daymond also voices Prompto in Final Fantasy 15, Reinhard in RE:Zero, Professor Willow in Pokemon, Gilthunder in Nanatsu No Taizai and Mumen Rider in One Punch Man.
Kiyoka Maki: Colleen Clinkenbeard
Tumblr media
A girl with a personality that doesn’t match her talent, Kiyoka Maki is outgoing and carefree and doesn’t have an awful lot of care for her talent, being way more interested in more effeminate things than guns. When I first saw Kiyoka and was introduced to her character, for some reason I thought “This is the type of character Colleen Clinkenbeard would voice.” Originally I was going to cast Clinkenbeard as Teruya before I realised Teruya wouldn’t necessarily have a child-like voice. Clinkenbeard however, does have experience of voicing male anime characters, and a lot of characters that scream a lot, Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece and Young Gohan being the prime examples. Alongside that, she’s also voiced another gunslinger in Full Metal Alchemist as Riza Hawkeye, as well as Momo Yaoyorozu in My Hero Academia, Rachel Moore in Case Closed, Erza Scarlet in Fairy Tail and previously in Danganronpa 3 as the loveable Chisa Yukizome.
Ayame Hatano: Karen Strassman
Tumblr media
Ayame is a stoic and strong-willed person. Although she appears to be perfectly calm in most situations, she admits that she can be awkward especially during conversations, and as a result, she has a tendency to ramble and wander off in her own, or not talk much at all. To me, she seems like a character that someone like Karen Strassman would lend her voice to, since she’s played several characters with those personality traits before. To name a few, there’s Aigis and Nanako from Persona and she’s also voiced Anna in several Fire Emblem games. She’s also played Kallen Stadtfeld in Code Geass, Miyuki Takara in Lucky Star and Rouge the Bat in several Sonic the Hedghog games.
Kanata Inori: Felicia Angelle
Tumblr media
I was also considering casting Tia Ballard for this character too, but unlike Kizuna, Kanata genuinely seems like a moe character that would have a high voice. Kanata is a sweet girl who wishes nothing more than the comfort of her patients and everyone else around her. Exceedingly formal and polite, she addresses her classmates as Mr or Ms, like how Hifumi Yamada does in the first game. My choice for her is Felicia Angelle, who’s repertoire consists of both cute and geeky anime girls, as well a little bit of the scary stuff too. This includes Tohru Hagakure from My Hero Academia, Perona from One Piece, The Supreme Kai of Time from Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Shinoa Hiragi from Seraph of the end, Shaltear from Overlord, Georgie from Maid Dragon and has previously been in the Danganronpa anime, playing Aoi Asahina.
Kakeru Yamaguchi: J Michael Tatum
Tumblr media
I have a pretty good reason for this cast. Becoming a legal prodigy when he was quite young, Kakeru is a character who seems to have a split personality, but on a level way less extreme than that of Toko Fukawa. Essentially, he’s usually quite a timid and shy person, that finds it hard to hold a conversation, but when he’s in the courtroom or a class trial, he becomes quite loud and brash in a way similar to that of Nekomaru in the second game. His personality reminds me that of characters like Tenya Iida from My Hero Academia and Rei Ryugazaki from Free! both of whom are voiced by J Michal Tatum, whom is my choice for Kakeru. Tatum has also voiced Zarbon from Dragon Ball, Commander Erwin from Attack on Titan, Rintaro Okabe from Steins:Gate, Scar from Full Metal Alchemist, France from Hetalia and Sebastian from Black Butler.
Yamato Kisaragi: Max Mittleman
Tumblr media
Yamato is almost as crazy an inventor as Miu, sans the whole sexual and perverted invention parts. Being a character who’s introduced a little later into the story, Yamato is pretty quirky, energetic and honestly friendly, but that leads people to be a little doubtful of him, Tsurugi in particular. His energetic character and his genuine feel make me think that someone who could voice him is Max Mittleman. Mittleman’s previous voices include Plag from Miraculous Ladybug, Ryuji Sakamoto from Persona, Saitama from One Punch Man, King from Natatsu No Taizai, Meruem in HunterXHunter and more
So that’s what I got. If you liked this, then leave me a heart and repost if you want. If you have any other recommendations for Japanese exclusive projects I should assign voice actors to, then let me know.

@lordgeales liked for a drabble!
Tumblr media
“What’s with that look, Lord Geales?”
He advanced upon his Lord’s kneeled figure, the other’s head raised and gazing at him with such disgust. Certainly this was new--but should he really be so surprised? Especially to pull such an attack out of nowhere? Perhaps...yes, he was a despicable person, but this time, he didn’t mind it all too much. If that’s what he had to be considered as to achieve something like this, he’d do it over and over and over again. With absolutely no hesitation.
“Weren’t you expecting something like this? Hadn’t you told me before that you...what was it again? Never trusted me, and never have or ever will? How can you look at me like that when you gave me the impression that assured me you wouldn’t hate me for this? Or is this just natural instinct? To hate someone for doing this to you? That’d be more of a fair point than the other then, right? You can’t possibly hate me because you feel betrayed, right? You just can’t.” Surely the words that came from his mouth sounded absolutely foolish and that of a naive child, but he was only playing his part as a child. Just like everyone considered him as, even Lord Geales.
Spiteful as he may be doing so, he held no regret for acting so. If anything, he felt proud to be this petty. Certainly a bad thing, but honestly, did he have much to lose at this point?
He lifted the blade he wielded, now drenched in the other’s blood. Gently, he rested the point of the blade against Urd’s shoulder, the length pulsing with unearthly power. Effective in preventing his Lord from recovering. He was certainly prepared this time, to prove once and for all if he had really surpassed his Lord. If he had changed at all in the last few centuries, gained any more power, gotten any more stronger, able to prove himself worthy; now was the time to prove it.
“I said I’d be known for either two things--one who was strong enough and respectfully and fairly surpassed his Lord in strength and power, like what I aim  to do now; or protect and die or survive ‘saving’ his Lord--if anyone else...what’s the phrase? ‘Beat me to the punch’? Either way, I’ll certainly have gained some sort of...legacy-worthy reputation.”
His ambition and naivety had gone too far this time--or has it really? Weren’t vampires always fighting for more power? Well, perhaps in the past--but now in this modern-day apocalyptic world of their’s, peace and order was the only goal of their kind...for the majority at least believed in. Then there was the scandal with Krul Tepes working with the humans, then Ferid Bathory failing to maintain control over Japan and lost even Sanguinem to the humans, not only that foul plans laid in waiting to overthrow the hierachy of the vampires. Absolutely despicable. Frankly, the reason why the naive Third Progenitor wanted to gain so much power, enough to overthrow the current but temporary head figure and ruler of their brethren, was simply because...he had other plans. None that he had spoken of or suspected off--well perhaps by Urd and Krul at least, but no one else probably.
“Certainly though...I wasn’t expecting to use this method of all...” The blade he wielded shuddered in response, as if protesting its wielder’s words.
He was no different than Krul, somewhat, using such arts to fight and gain something he wanted... Then again...his Lord was already aware of the power he held and the blade he now brandished; not only that, but he had carried out such a ‘practice’ by legal and allowed means...before it had been branded as forbidden anyways. With his status and ranking as a High Progenitor and powerful vampire, they had made exceptions for him to keep whatever he had gained from those restricted practices since, as long as they didn’t prove to be destructive towards the world, especially their own kind. Dabbling his hand in magic and other such otherworldly powers, he held considerably compatibility with it, even possessing an affluent amount of it within himself. Rarely did he ever use it, however, knowing the conflicts it can create and troublesome, political matters would arise with it. It’s been a while since he last used such skills, but his talent certainly hasn’t waned since. If anything, he seems far more in-tuned and fluent using it. What a delightful surprise.
“When we fought previously...I realized how far I was behind you in physical prowess. I respect and envy that part of you, My Lord.” The casual smile on his lips didn’t seen to convey the same tone as his words did, but he continued anyways. “However, you of all people were quite aware of what sort of...abilities I’m capable of. This being one of them.” He moved the point of his blade from Urd’s shoulder to tapping it lightly upon the other’s nose, his smile widening to a slight, childish grin.
“Durandal is surely fond of you--just like how I felt about you, Lord Geales.”
The next moment, his sword had been moved from its place tapping against Urd’s nose. Instead, with a single, almost effortless thrust, it went straight through the fallen Lord’s right shoulder, going halfway before it stopped. Leaving the blade where it is, yet keeping a firm grip on its handle, Lest leaned down slightly to see eye-to-eye with Urd, an almost maniacal gleam in his crimson hues. The other had flinched slightly, almost giving a pained groan but otherwise kept silent. How resilient.
“No hard feelings, right?” Lest didn’t even bother to wait for a response before he mercilessly tore the blade through Urd’s shoulder, drawing the blade to the side instead of pulling it back out from its resting place, effectively cutting through the shoulder. The arm itself clung feebly to the rest of the body, hanging by just a bit of sinew and flesh. Blood coursed down the arm and gathered in a growing puddle on the ground, exposed bone and tendon, ragged muscle and a thin blood vessel or two hanging.
He relished the flinch of agony, the way his Lord widened his eyes from the burning pain, and how he gritted his teeth oh so tightly that he was sure a molar had to be broken. “It seems being the powerful and evasive individual that you are, Lord Geales, has rendered you unprepared to remember what pain and agony is. Yet another weakness for me to have discovered--though that’s hardly of any use to me now. However, it does do me some good to achieve something. That aside, someone like me would know all too well how such pain feels like, don’t you remember?”
Right, he was commanded to stop the runaway traitor on the spur of moment--when he barely had time to recollect himself. How that brutal cut tore into his body and split him in half--how he was left lying on the ground burning in agony while still forcing to mend himself together once more. How he had to apologize right afterwards, even if he had nearly sustained a most-certainly life-threatening wound. How come he was the one who was always docile and polite?
Swinging the blade to his side, the dripping, rivelets of blood upon the body flung off to the side, creating a sharp, vermillion arc on the ground. Surely, that was a masterpiece. One to be kept there for eons and to always be remembered. He lifted the blade to his lips, only the lightest of crimson stains remaining. Pressing it to his lips for a brief moment, he then turned to gently tap the blunt side of it against Urd’s head lightly. Surely something that simple in nature to do wasn’t troubling to carry out--the older vampire was in far too much pain and overwhelmed with conflicting feelings to bother with such.
“ ‘The higher one’s rank is...the more irresistable and delicious their blood is.’ Is that not what I was informed of? So that I can be warned of the danger I’m in, being a Third? Ah, I suppose that also contributes to the established law, where if one vampire drinks from another, it’s an unforgiveable act. The council fears that if one common vampire were to find out just how tempting a Progenitor’s blood was, surely they’ll all be driven mad to just have one taste. Really, the rules we established...was it for the sake of our brethren as a whole, or only to a few priviledged individuals?” At this point, perhaps he was only rambling, but he was too caught up in his own excitement to make any sense.
Oh, how he favoured his dearly trusted blade. One that wielded power that far surpassed the Demon Army’s “Cursed Gears”, even their so-called, infamous, “Black Demon Series”. One false move...then even its own wielder can fall victim to its deadly intent to kill. Truly without it, then perhaps in the first place, he wouldn’t have managed to best his Lord at all.
“I may not have gained more power, or at least enough to surpass you, Lord Geales, but my compatibility with this weapon surely speaks for itself. Not just anyone can harness such dangerous power--and was that not what stood out about me that interested the First? Our father?” Urd shouldn’t be surprised at all to hear the bitter tone Lest held when he spat out the term given to such a lousy parental figure.
“Stop looking at me like that.” He scowled before planting a foot against Urd’s wounded shoulder, roughly pushing him back and lying down on the ground. “I hate it when you give me that look--of dealing with a child’s tantrums, and that you would discipline the said child once you’ve let them ‘had enough’. I’m not a damn child!” Only on rare occasions, did he swear blatanly or spoke with crude words, but his temper was getting the better of him.
“It’s already enough I had to work so hard to be liked by you. I was already terrified for my life that Lord Rigr didn’t favour me at all. Isn’t that what we vampires are? The strong steps over the weak, or those they look down upon. Wasn’t that always your impression of me when dearest Father introduced me to you guys? Even if I’m ‘sired’ by the First, there’s no guarantee that I’d be protected from being slaughtered out of someone feeling that I was inferior. I worked so hard to get into favourable ranks with either you or Lord Rigr--and yet even then all my efforts barely paid off, so I’ve been stuck with this sort of odd relationship between you and I, My Lord.” His heel dug into the open flesh wound Urd harboured, effectively drawing out a larger puddle of blood and torn muscle. It was a gruesome yet oddly fascinating sight to behold.
“I’ve tired myself of any more conversation with you, forgive me for my imprudence.” A satire remark, but really would it matter much at this point? “I really have looked up to you, Lord Geales, but there’s only so much being stepped on that I can take--even if it’s not you yourself who means to do so. Being compared by the rest of our brethren, how bothersome. Even Krul is far more favourable than I. Even--dare I say it?--that missing brother of our’s, Ashera Tepes. Surely, more liked those two than me. I’ve even heard a few smart alecks dare call me the ‘black sheep’ among the higher ranks. How despicable of a thought. Surely, you are no doubt the favourite of everyone. Oh, what I would do...or kill who to gain such reputation. Too bad.”
He leaned down closer to Urd, promptly sitting on his chest as they met eye to eye. His blade long-forgotten, fallen to the side as he reached out with bare hands, encircling them around Urd’s neck in a gentle manner. “I really do admire you, Lord Geales, honestly I do. I have much more to say to you, so many things I’ve wanted to say but kept to myself--oh but why does it matter? You don’t care enough, always brushing me off as some annoyance. And that aside--why would I tell a dead man anything?” The smirk he gave held an ominous look to it, thought that wouldn’t matter much to the Second anymore. He was going to die.
Lest reached for his blade once more, bringing it up to rest the point over where the other’s heart would be. He gave a small hum, gazing down at the almost nonchalant look on Urd’s face. Ah, so he was no different from the other. “I’m surprised you never thought to fought back--though I do appreciate the gesture. Even if I insist on gaining more power and defeating you on my own, it seems your little assisstance can’t be refused here. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me, My Dear Lord.”
“A new King will rise today--and fret not, I’ll be sure to lead the vampires to victory. Leadership is in capable hands, please have faith in me.” He said no more before ultimately plunging Durandal deep into Urd’s chest, piercing his heart and feeling the frail organ rupture. The curse and power of the blade spread from there throughout the older vampire’s body, corrupting him and breaking him from the inside. An unforeseen, unfathomable, unlikely death for a vampire, especially one as strong as Urd Geales.
“No matter, your legacy will live on--even if you haven’t done much. I’ll be sure that you’re remembered, as the great Lord you are. I’ll make sure of it.” Even if his ending motives were bloody and unlawful, his morales stayed the same, and his respect and admiration ran deep for those he looked up to.
Just perhaps, Urd Geales ranked as the second highest upon that tier if not any more.
“Sleep well, Urd Geales.”

winter break 2016 was crazy yall, pero it gave me enough time to catch up on shitloads of mikayuu fic, here’s what ya girl has compiled this time around
Mikayuu Fic Recs 1 Key:  (Status | Chapters | Word Count | Rating)
FIC COUNT: 23
Blood Moon (complete | 1/1 | 595 | not rated)
Mika adjusts to being a vampire and drinking on a regular basis.
A Bit of a Sticky Situation (complete | 1/1 | 3,562 | no warnings apply)
“Good boy,” Mika praises, and Yuu felt his cock twitch, hanging heavily between his legs. “You’re so wet for me, Yuu. I can slide my fingers into your greedy little hole so nicely when you’re like this. It feels good, doesn’t it? Having my fingers stretching you open, my tongue and lips cleaning up the mess you’ve made of the backs of your thighs and cock.”
Or, alternatively, the painfully clicks omegaverse smutfic no one asked for.
Corner of a Birdcage (wip | 11/? | 168,026 | not rated)
It was then that Yuu took a moment to fully let the situation at hand sink in. There he was, wearing nothing more but an oversized, white T-shirt, his elephant boxer briefs that Shinoa had given him as a gag gift for Christmas last year, and a lot of fatigue while he stared down at the unconscious superhero that saved his life only about an hour ago.
or, Yuu is a university student that tends to live for the moment. Mika is a cynical superhero that’s more super than a hero. Fate is a bit aggressive with intertwining their lives.
Scented (wip | 19/? | 69,157 | rape/non-con)
In a world ruled by beta neutrality, alphas and omegas are controlled by suppressants which modify their natural inclinations. Under constant surveillance, unproductive members of society are removed in the name of efficiency. Yuichirou Hyakuya is deemed infertile by the Board and is sentenced to certain death. In an act of defiance Yuichirou steals enough suppressants to hide his scent and joins the military under the guise of a beta.
It would be his luck to find himself under the command of his assigned mate, Mikaela Shindo.
An Endless Desire (complete | 6/6 | 14,788 | graphic depicts. of violence)
Being captured is never a good thing. Yuichirou Hyakuya finds himself waking up to the one place he thought he would never return to. Wanting to escape, and return to the people who need him, there’s one who will not let him go no matter what after being able to see him after four long years. Contains yaoi.
The smell of Roses (wip | 7/? | 21,280 | major character death, graphic depicts. of violence, rape/non-con)
You're regular florist, hit man love story.
Strangeness and Charm (wip | 16/? | 108,877 | graphic depicts. of violence)
The huntsmen and the werewolves have been at war with each other for centuries.
Krul always told Mika to stay out of the woods and not talk to strangers when he was younger. Now that Mika is older, despite being an omega he became a hunter alongside the alphas and betas to take out the werewolves and keep them from attacking the town and its people.
When Mika encounters Yuu, a long wolf who has abandoned his pack - Mika learns that there’s no such thing as all wolves being big and bad, regarding their bigs eyes and large teeth. Yuu didn't choose to become a monster and knowing this fact, they must keep their growing bond a secret.
Burden of Good Intentions (wip | 9/17 | 44,270 | graphic depicts. of violence)
After awakening from a horrid nightmare, Yuichirou finds himself in a completely different world. The war against the vampires is non-existent, the Hyakuya orphans are still alive, he and Mikaela are lovers, and JIDA is an organization dedicated to the destruction of monsters by the use of colossal mechs, the Evangelions. Uniting with Mikaela, the two dedicate their lives to piloting the Eva and securing the safety of their family.
My Treasure (wip | 5/? | 42,322 | not rated)
Mikaela is the captain of the Rosethorn ship, and is known and feared by nobles far and wide as the infamous Golden Fleece who steals riches unnoticed despite the heavy security they have layered.
No one has ever caught him before or knew what he does with their stolen treasures and Mikaela wants it to stay that way. That is... until a certain someone catches his interest, which is a mistake on his part.
...Or maybe not.
Iridescent (wip | 1/? | 6,683 | no warnings apply)
With the strong will and desire to explore other galaxies and star systems, Mikaela goes completely against the government rules with a belief that his species comes from a long line of space exploration. He didn’t expect to crash into another life form’s house. By utter chance, he gets to learn about a completely different planet while helping Yuuichirou achieve his own goals and dreams.
But with Mikaela’s own kind hot on his tail--literally--both he and Yuuichirou must find a way to solve the issues and conflicts they will come to face.
Afire love (complete | 18/18 | 140,142 | graphic depicts. of violence)
After Nagoya’s failed mission, an unsteady truce is formed between Shinoa’s squad and Mikaela Hyakuya, making Yuu feel conflicted inside. On one hand, he’s got Mika back, his friends are alive, and the seem to be trying to be civil with each other, even if it’s just for his sake. On the other hand, Guren is being held captive by the vampires, Shinya has just given them a mission Yuu doesn’t like, and Mika... Yuu doesn’t really know what Mika is feeling.
Maybe not even Mikaela knows what he's truly feeling after all.
Waiting for Prince Charming (wip | 7/? | 33,626 | underage)
Mikaela never thought he’d be an omega but there he was, pinned up against the wall by the school’s manwhore: Yuuichirio Hyakuya. And even if that didn’t go as planned, he never thought this would happen.
Is the Mask Really Hiding Something? (wip | 2/? | 11,121 | graphic depicts. of violence, underage)
This superhero job should be pretty straightforward: protect the city and its people, puffy the Horsemen before they destroy everything, and fix all the damage that’s been done. But when the heroes are Mika and Yuu—two teenage boys already having to deal with family issues, asshole friends, and secret crushes—nothing gets to stay that simple.
Oh, and they also have to stop the evil, immortal monster sealed under the city from getting enough human blood to break free and take over the entire world. No pressure.
Chasing Fate (wip | 4/? | 10,199 | not rated)
The yearly Mating Run was mere days away, and Yuu was participating for the second year in a row.
Yuu tired to remain optimistic about finding his true Mate in another alpha, until Shinoa, a first time runner, had told him that this year the Vampire alphas were going to be running as well.
That news was less than thrilling, to say the least.
Mikaela will be running for the first time since he’d been turned into a vampire, 4 years prior. And after crossing paths with the raven haired omega, Mikaela knew that he’d be running for that omega and nobody else.
He could only hope that Yuu would accept him for monster he’d been forced to become.
Whoever Said Opposites Attract Was a Liar (wip | 5/? | 7,168 | not rated)
“Can I keep him?”
As a child, demon prince Yuichiro was convinced that the angel Mikaela was destined to be his. He thinks they are meant to be.
Mika, not so much.
But when they are now sixteen, the beautiful angel princes gets kidnapped by the fallen angels, Ferid and Crowley, in order to bring war between demons and angels.
Out of the request of his son (actually begging), Demon King Guren sends Yuu to Earth on the journey of getting his true love back.
Meanwhile, Mika must remain on Earth as he escapes his capturers and bunks in with some humans ion a human boarding school until he finds a way back home.
Things Could Be Worse (wip | 17/? | 69,826 | not rated)
Or the one in which Yuu is turned into a vampire and is surprisingly chill about it. Mika, on the other hand, is flipping his shit.
The Institution (wip | 2/? | 3,459 | not rated)
In a beta-ruled society, alphas and omegas are looked at as enemies. So Krul Tepes, a kind and loving soul, started up The Institution where alphas and omegas would live peacefully and happily. As well as being out of the way of the higher class. But things start going downhill when a strange, wild omega is found outside the The Institution, only being able to say one word: Mika.
Commitment (wip | 10/? | 14,300 | no warnings applied)
Sex to Mika was nothing more than a way to pass time. He has enough notes on his belt to last two lifetimes. But when he starts falling hard for a sexy barista, he thinks maybe - just maybe - he was completely and utterly wrong.
Check, Please (complete | 1/1 | 4,334 | not rated)
//Or basically, Yuu is the manager and Mika is the new employee. And Yuu makes Mika stay late after work to teach him a lesson.
More Than Just a Dream (wip | 4/? | 12,741 | not rated)
//When Mikaela Shindo, a well-known author, gets thrown into his own book... he accidentally falls in love with the main character, Yuuichirou Amane.
New Perspective (complete | 1/1 | 6,811 | underage)
Yuu grows up referring to Mika as his brother, unknowing of Mika’s feelings. When he begins to fall in love with Mika, he figures that his feelings are wrong, that they’re taboo and should be kept secret. It isn’t until their court heat, when they’re unable to suppress their hormones, everything come to light.
The Ride of Yuu-Chan’s Life (complete | 1/1 | 2,290 | no warnings apply)
Mika wanted payback for the time Yuu seduced Mika in the car.
Mika got his revenge, with the help of some handcuffs and a cocky attitude.
Somnia (wip | 6/? | 32,123 | not rated)
When Yuuichirou Amane dropped out of uni, he didn’t expect much out of his life. In fact, he expected everything to be boring and bleak. After all, he’s eighteen, still stuck living with Guren, no job, no degree, no future, and no fucks given about anything to be quite honest.
It’s safe to say that he definitely didn’t expect to be whisked away into some parallel world where not only does magic exist, but there's also a very attractive blond prince who is convinced Yuu and him are soulmates. Maybe Yuu should have stayed un university after all. Getting that degree might have been easier than dealing with all this insanity.

I've broken many rules in my life. But this just takes the hit!
Running away from angry Japanese demon wielders and Vampire sparkling freaks wasn't something I planned to do when doing my mission on Earth. And to add the icing on the cake, I now have to take care of five hormonal teens, a depressed tag-along and a traumatic newborn vampire.
Welcome to the hood!

owari no seraph?
owo whats this ??? || accepting
it honestly took me a bit to figure out what you meant cause like… if you wanted my opinion on owari no this is not the blog to ask ( better to ask on my main ) but then I realized this was probly for the au meme whoops. anyway, idk who you are or where you came from or which of my friends needs to fess up but heRE YOU GO ??? I love owari no seraph kill me
in canon we don’t necessarily know the situation in the United States as the series takes place in Japan under the rule of the vampire queen Krul Tepes and from what we are told there are different vampires ruling over different areas ??? example Russia is under the control of Urd Geales. assuming from what we know about the worldwide situation I want to say that in the United States is a setup very similar to Japan with the vampires reigning over and keeping children as their blood banks. I would also say there is a resistance in America ??? since it is shown that not everyone died. just for setup adskjfgds
Percy was twelve when it hit, away at Yancy. considering the place is a boarding school the vampires came through easily — collecting almost all the kids ( killing some, missing a few ). he gets off lucky in a way since they miss him and Grover maybe? that would be cool. With the small number of others who were able to hide, the kids wander out the next day to see how the world has gone to shit.
the first thing he does is try to get home, only problem is his mom might not even be there and who knows what happened to Gabe. there’s also the slightly bigger problem of vampires roaming and the Horseman of John stalking the place. it ends up becoming a clear lost cause when he gets back to find the apartment building in ruins. for the next few years he and some other kids keep themselves barely alive within the city through scavenging whats left of shops / etc and keeping to daylight hours.
Camp Halfblood is actually a stakes out location for the human resistance in the area !!! the few adults still alive train the children on how to protect themselves and stay out of sight of the vampires. since unlike in japan they don’t have the demon weapons ( since there was no experimentation ) there’s no real way to kill the vampires they come across but they can put up their own fight of a sort.
mmmmmmmm if we’re being honest here, without the same advances the Japanese Imperial Demon Company has made towards fighting the vampires any resistance in the United States is shot in its own way. they only have so long ??? before they will end up dead due to the circumstances of the ons universe. lmao so I guess like what is most likely to happen to Percy in actual canon he’d die young to the monsters hunting his every move :)

OnS Theories (14S). Tenth Theory - Mahiru Hiragi’s bargain with Krul Tepes
Hello everyone, as you might notice, I switched a theory’s position; for now, this will be the last theory I update before I take a short break, I hope you understand but I’ll return afterwards, perhaps it’ll be only for one week even if I stated a week and a half.
Anyways, let’s talk about a rather forgotten topic which is Krul Tepes and Mahiru’s bargain, therefore, let’s begin!
Back in the Catastrophe LNs and now manga, Mahiru allowed herself to be caught by a group of vampires:
Tumblr media
Image from Catastrophe at 16 - Chapter 30
Mahiru was planning all along to get caught and be delivered to the current Vampire Queen:
Tumblr media
Image from Catastrophe at 16 - Chapter 33
Mahiru and Krul spoke in relation to various topics but within those topics, something of interest came to Krul, which was the whereabouts of her brother. Mahiru found a way to make Krul help her so she could get her brother back, but what exactly did this bargain focused on?
In the current manga story, the first trace of such bargain was left in old chapters:
Tumblr media
Image from Vampire Reign - Chapter 61
Krul was aware that Mahiru was keeping a part of her bargain but the pace it held was going to be in a slow motion until the moment was right; therefore, what was the bargain focused on?
The first part was that if the Vampire Queen helped her with the experiment of the Seraph of the end along another factor within the test subjects she’d had to retrieve, she’d get tracks about the whereabouts of her brother; hence why in chapter 61 she found out where her brother currently was.
In chapter 94, she asked her brother to possess Yu so he could actually flee with her to a safe place; of course, with how the bond between Ashera and Yu is right now, there’s freedom for her brother to communicate with her in a way.
But now, what’s the next part of the bargain?
Such part is the fact that she’d turn one of the test subjects from the Hyakuya Orphanage into a vampire; hence why, when Ferid decided to murder the Hyakuya Orphanage kids, he picked Mikaela Hyakuya to leave him at the border of death since Guren’s main mission was to retrieve Yuichiro and Mikaela, hence why this scene happens:
Tumblr media
Image from Vampire Reign - Chapter 5
Krul in fact had no reason to turn another human into a vampire, but, since this was part of the bargain, she ended up obeying the statements of such bargain.
Now, what was the other part of the bargain asides from turning one of the test subjects into a vampire?
Correct, the final goal was that such test subject ended up as a demon, but how can I state this?
In the current chapter 94, Krul stated this:
Tumblr media
“Just like my deal with Mahiru said, the demon transformation has already begun!”
Which means, she was aware that one of the sired ones would end up becoming as a demon, but how can I state this?
That’s simple, if many might recall, in the old chapters, Krul gave freedom to Mikaela; she suggested how she could retrieve Yu when the opportunity rose, but how can I state such thing?
It is well known that a queen’s goal is to retain order within the land she rules; but why allow a young vampire roam freely? Correct, because the plans were set to motion long ago.
Tumblr media
Image from Vampire Reign - Chapter 22
Despite Krul’s demanor, she’s not evil, she doesn’t have evil intentions towards humans compared to the other vampires; it could be said she has a soft side due to all the centuries that have passed, but now, you might wonder how I can state that if Krul ended up delivering Mika to the path of demonhood.
As much as it hurts, Mika’s one of the keys for Rigr and now the current key for Guren and Mahiru to set the world free from the curse of the Vampire Progenitor; which in fact, it’s something the Vampire Progenitors to certain extend think alike, why do I state this when Urd, Lest and Ky seem to aim to find the First Progenitor?
This is due to the fact they want answers, they’ve heard Krul’s story about the real dark side of the First Progenitor; furthermore, Krul doesn’t want to know a thing about him, the eternal life given to them is now a curse and this is mainly seen in chapter 76:
Tumblr media
Image from Vampire Reign - Chapter 76
It is visible how painful for the Progenitors is to keep living an inmortal life; such is the same thing with Krul, living forever, not being able to set free from the curse, not being able to feel the sun as once they did is something they got tired of; which is why Krul became the pioneer of vampires to take actions agains the First Progenitor, even if it meant the probabilities were low.
She gave her trust to Mahiru Hiragi and Guren Ichinose so they could actually lift a plan to stop the cursed world the First Progenitor settled.
Therefore, the whole bargain was an exchange of favors in order to keep one goal in mind, to stop the First Progenitor once and for all with the final key Rigr managed to get.
What do you think guys?
Let me know!
P.S: For now, this will be the final theory, I’ll return in a week to keep updating the last 3 for the season before the new chapter arrives!

@brassboundvalkyrie liked for a drabble!
Tumblr media
“Why are you screaming? You’re making this more exaggerated than it is--that’s nothing more but a scratch.” His cold tone held no ounce of mercy or pity, only the ice-cold edge of hostility and bloodthirst. If anything, he was nonchalant about the matter.
Already around them, the cold, pristine marble of the ground was stained a brilliant crimson that was the seventeenth progenitor’s blood--which, in Ferid’s opinion had the seventh been present, clashed beautifully with the almost divine and ethereal appearance Horn possessed. Lest on the other hand, he only saw the death of an unfortunate accomplice. Accomplice of who? Who else, but the previous individual stated, the seventh progenitor Ferid Bathory.
“I told you to stop screaming. I hate it when people scream--human or vampire--you’re lucky I have more patience than Krul, Horn Skuld.”
He kneeled down next to her kneeled figure, tilting his head as he watched her double over in agonizing pain. The more she pressed upon the wound, the more blood was spilled. Honestly, was she trying to kill herself? Was this really too much to bear? Coward.
“As much as I would love to spare you--rules are rules. And you, Lady Skuld, are of no exception.” Frankly, he meant to give her a quick death, a gracious execution. But she was making this more difficult to do than necessary.
She seemed desperate to live.
Hence why she barely dodged the blow--and thus dug a deeper grave for herself. For one to shy away and evade execution at the moment of it, it was a severe offense. To reject and fight against a punishment and order given by the council--surely she should’ve known that such acts were not overlooked, right? Then why?
“Look at you, bearing such a wound--it would’ve been a far quicker and even painless death, had you not dodged.” He swung his blade out to the side once more, the pulsing edge gleaming menacingly. “I’ll give you a chance to redeem yourself, Horn Skuld--tell me: Why did you evade your death sentence, when you should’ve bowed your head and accepted such fate?” Sure, he was more patient than Krul--but then again, was a child really as patient as adults were?
Of course not.
Horn’s screams rang out loudly, such shrill sounds evoked as Lest thrusted his blade through her left eye. What was he to do? She was refusing to answer him when he was giving her a chance to redeem herself, and still she bled so freely without considering the fact that she may die? Oh, that’s right. She knew she was going to die anyways, so she was trying to live her last moments out as long as possible--but in such pain? Was it really worth it?
He didn’t know, nor did he care to find out.
His sword went straight through her left eye and out through the back of her head, crimson liquid staining her golden curls and pale skin. Such kind nature wasted--both appearance-wise and person-wise.
His thoughts briefly flashed back to the rare times he was ever with her independently, ever since he and Lord Geales had arrived in Japan with the others. As respectful as she was to a higher-ranked progenitor, she seemed almost motherly to him in a manner, something he was rather not used to, but yet still appreciated. Though he never said it aloud, there was probably a mutual understanding between them--but such moments weren’t considered when the matter of his duties and tasks to carry out came into question. Though the times she tended to him was enjoyable, it was all too easy for him to brush aside as such kind moments amounted to nothing, compared to the years he spent alone and going without knowing parental affections and care. And certainly, he didn’t need them, but it was nice while it lasted.
“I do...humbly thank you for the kindness you showed me, Lady Skuld, but I do hope you understand that even with such actions, I cannot waver from where I stand upon our society. Especially when it comes to dealing with traitors.”
Of course, she wasn’t personally involved with the matters of Ferid Bathory and Krul Tepes, but nonetheless she had been a part of Ferid’s faction, and she had neglected to inform the council ahead of time, or at least tried to stop them from doing what they did. Of course, what could she have really done? Well, by the fact that she was alive and unharmed, it was deduced that she made no efforts to stop the traitors, ultimately and effectively helping them by not doing so--and thus, such treasonous acts must be punished for. Or so as the council dictated. He was only doing as the council decided.
Horn at this point, she was lying on the floor sobbing quietly, tears dripping down her face, mixing with the steady stream of blood pouring from both her gouged out eye and ghastly wound upon her torso. She was too pitiful of a sight, that just slightly, ever so slightly, the childish King felt a small sense of remorse for her. How awful it was for her to be mixed up with such devious people, and having to pay the price for it. Both Krul and Ferid--they were a dangerous pair to be around. Horn had simply been an unfortunate individual assigned to one, while devoted to her role as an aid. Such loyalty and potential, all gone.
“It’s been a long time for you, Lady Skuld, to have lived such a life. It’s time...I would say, for you to be free of this curse that enslaved our brethren, and to...move on to the next life.” She lifted her head ever so slightly to face him, lips trembling in silent sobs. Again, his heart wrenched with pain and regret, but still he made no second thoughts. “Forgive me, for causing you unnecessary pain--a child is only a child, after all. May you rest in peace.”
He lifted his blade, gazing down at her kneeled, mauled figure one last time, then swung his sword once to the side. The blade effortlessly cut through her pale neck, ultimately decapitating her without struggle. Her eyes were wide for one moment, then the next growing dim as Death claimed her.
A soft thud was heard as her head fell to the ground, then a rustle of clothing and a duller thud as her body fell forward. Collapsed there on the crimson-stained marble, Lest bowed his head once in respect before turning to face those that escorted him, and had witnessed the execution themselves. They bowed to their Lord, a grim atmosphere settling among them, however, justice was justice. Simple as that.
As he walked towards the group, he waved a hand in an almost careless manner, speaking in a nonchalant tone, “Send a message to the council, and inform them that the deed has been done. I will now go on to join with Lord Geales once more, and we will discuss further plans of what to do with Japan then.” Immediately, they bowed and one soldier separated himself from the others and went quickly on his way. As said, everything was going according to plan. After all, Lest never failed in upholding his duties, no matter what consequences it may bring. He was terrifyingly loyal and devoted to the established laws of the vampire world, and he wouldn’t be changing such an attitude so soon.
Not when he had come so far following it.
Sleep well, Horn Skuld.
