For a second, the joyful girl felt a second of doubt seeping into her. Which was rare. But this stranger sounded so sure that her Dear Daniel... Was going away? All so suddenly?

Maybe it was some new science trip...

It was supposed to be a little outing. "Be back before dawn" Was her Mama's one rule and Kitty would follow. She knew the area like the back of her paw! So she had no trouble finding all the shortcuts, hideouts, clearings.

It got boring, walking around the same old place everyday. Kitty wanted something else, she always did. That's why she would always let her thoughts whisk her away for as long as she wanted... Until it was time to do home...

A falling pincone awoke the girl from her, longer than expected nap. Her fur ruffling as she took in her, suddenly darker than she remembered surroundings.

" U-Uh oh-... Hello? Anyone here! Mama! Papa-... Mimmy?- "

She awaited a response from the dark trees. Hoping to hear a familliar voice. Surely anyone would already be here by now... Nothing but the wind and nature. Kitty felt her ears dropping, realizing there were suddenly more trees than she remembered... Had she travelled to far into the woods?...

" Aw, shucks-... This STINKS- MAMA!- "

The 3rd grader went running off into a direction she was hoping was home.

" Woah... Well if he really is one, then that banana has a lot of talent!... I wonder if it's hard being a banana... What would life be like as a grain of rice? "
