'Andrew Scott is Emmy nominated this year for playing the titular antihero on the Netflix miniseries Ripley. But this isn’t the Irish actor’s first rodeo playing a murderous trickster. In 2010, he debuted on the BBC/Masterpiece Theatre’s Sherlock as Jim Moriarty, the archnemesis and unhinged counterpart to the world’s most famous detective (played by Benedict Cumberbatch).
Moriarty toyed with Sherlock, sending him on a life-or-death crime-solving scavenger hunt across London before nearly blowing up him and John Watson at a pool, then entangling the sleuth in an attempted theft of the Crown Jewels. All the while, Scott’s performance veered unpredictably from calm and composed to uncontrolled screams — in keeping with his character’s madness. And the roller-coaster storyline wasn’t over with 2012’s climactic season-two finale “The Reichenbach Fall,” where Moriarty shot himself in the head as part of a scheme to blackmail Sherlock into jumping to his death to save his friends.
THR‘s review of season three noted that fans awaited the cliffhanger’s resolution with a “kids-on-Christmas-like anticipation” and added: “It does not disappoint.” That season’s finale equally shocked audiences when Moriarty — who was presumed dead — popped up on screens across England taunting, “Did you miss me?”
After Sherlock, which won nine Emmys in limited series or movie categories, Scott’s roles have moved beyond the villainy that first made him famous. The actor said on a recent THR Roundtable that’s how he wanted it, noting, “It always seemed what’s of value is to be able to play as many different notes as you could.” So for every fan whose Andrew Scott touchstone is Moriarty, there’s another who knows him as Fleabag‘s “hot priest,” or perhaps as the rideshare driver grieving the death of his wife in Black Mirror‘s “Smithereens” episode (for which he earned his first Emmy nom), or as the lead in the 2023 feature All of Us Strangers, or as Tom Ripley. It’s good that he’s kept busy — otherwise we might have missed him.'

I know I’ve already gone on and on about what it’s like to have a size difference with Simon Riley, but I’m sorry, I just will never get over how big and strong this man is.
Like I feel like sometimes his size gets lost on us since he’s surrounded by other tall, buff military guys all the time. But y’all, I’m telling you, this man is big. Like 6’4, 250+ pounds, big enough to eclipse the sun big.
With a man that big, it honestly doesn’t even matter what size you are because he’s always going to be bigger and stronger than you anyway. You can be tall, short, stocky, thin, whatever, and this man is still fully capable (and willing? 👀) of snapping you in half like a twig.
Are you worried about potential home invaders? Well, you shouldn’t be. One quick flick of his wrist and he’s breaking the neck of anyone who tries to threaten you. Did you accidentally lock yourself out of the house? Well, don’t bother calling a locksmith. There’s no lock left to pick after he’s just caved the door in with his foot. Do you have a really stubborn jar you’re struggling to open? Well, hand it over, love. He can crack that sucker open in half a second flat.
But Lord, don’t even get me started when it comes to all the ways Simon uses that strength of his in the bedroom.
Like when he tells you to sit on his face so he can eat you out. Don’t even try it with that nervous, hovering, “I’m too heavy, Si,” bullshit. You better sit your ass down right when and where he tells you to or he’ll hold you down by the hips until he’s had his fill.
Or when, after a night of heavy flirting and teasing, he’s got that look in his eye as he corners you against your entryway wall. Don’t be surprised when one moment your feet are firmly planted on the ground, and the next you’re lifted into the air, your legs slung over his arms as he drills into you like you’re his own little fuck puppet.
Or when he’s got you spread out on his bed, got your knees up by your ears, got the backs of your thighs burning in a way that’s matched only by how your walls have to stretch to take his thick cock. Don’t think he’s being mean or malicious when he sees your eyes well with tears but does nothing to change the way he’s fucking down into you. It’s not that Simon doesn’t care whenever you cry and quiver and plead with him to go easier on you, it’s that he knows the truth. He knows that, deep down, you love when he handles you like he isn’t afraid to break you.

"Honestly, I've never seen Tian be this close to anyone before, including me. He's always been reluctant to interact with others, so, he's very cautious and doesn't want to hurt anyone. Maybe because he's been hurt himself, he particularly understands other people's wounds and needs. You know, he's like a martial arts master in those martial arts films - if someone gets within three feet of him, they'd be knocked away by his protective aura. He's been on his own since he was young. His grandmother and parents have ignored him, so he isolated himself from them. No one can see what's going on in his mind. He doesn't let anyone get close, so no one can enter his inner world. You're the first friend I've seen him bring over here. So, I want to ask you for a favour: don't let him push you away."

'Andrew Scott joining the cast of Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, or Knives Out 3, will circle back to one of his most prolific television characters. Scott is one of the latest additions to the highly anticipated Knives Out and Glass Onion sequel from Rian Johnson...
Andrew Scott In A Benoit Blanc Movie Is Perfect After Sherlock’s Moriarty Role
Moriarty was a great enemy of the prolific detective
Andrew Scott is poised to be the perfect addition to the Knives Out universe following his legendary role as Professor Moriarty in the celebrated series Sherlock. A crucial character in the Benedict Cumberbatch-led series, Professor Moriarty, as played by Andrew Scott, first appeared in season one, episode three titled "The Great Game." He would go on to become the greatest enemy of Sherlock Holmes and the man who infamously bested him in the Sherlock series finale "The Final Problem". As one of Scott's earliest television characters, which he last appeared as in 2017, Moriarty is a great indication of Scott's potential in Knives Out 3.
While Sherlock Holmes was considered a prolific detective, Moriarty was a criminal mastermind who proved to be the only one who could match, elude, and eventually beat Sherlock at his own game. It would be somewhat symbolic if Scott's character in Knives Out 3 turned out to be the key suspect or culprit in the anticipated murder that Wake Up Dead Man is expected to center on. While there are virtually no details that are currently available about the plot of the upcoming Rian Johnson film, Scott, as well as the characters played by O'Connor, Spaeny, and Washington, will likely all be potential killers.
Why Andrew Scott Is Such A Great Addition To Knives Out 3’s Cast
Scott is a phenomenal actor with a wide comedic and dramatic range
Scott has only gotten better at his craft since starring as Moriarty in Sherlock and has emerged in recent years as one of the most versatile and in-demand actors working today. His performance as The Priest in Fleabag season 2 is one of his most notable roles alongside Phoebe Waller-Bridge. He starred in one of the better episodes of Black Mirror season 5 titled "Smithereens" as a ride-share driver who had gone rogue to send a message to a giant tech guru. He appeared in the Oscar-winning WWII film 1917 in 2019 and starred alongside Paul Mescal (Aftersun, Gladiator 2) in the celebrated 2023 film All of Us Strangers.
Scott also starred as the titular protagonist in Netflix's 2024 limited series Ripley, written and directed by Steven Zallian and based on The Talented Mr. Ripley novel by Patricia Highsmith. Even just by viewing his roles in All of Us Strangers and Ripley alone, it's blatantly clear that Scott's range as an actor is essentially as good as it gets. Scott can not only capture a sinister coldness in his antagonists and a relatable vulnerability in his protagonists, but he can also combine these elements into a singular role. Ripley is arguably Scott's best overall performance because it showcases his incredible versatility.
Knives Out 3 Won't Be Andrew Scott & Daniel Craig's First Movie Together
Both actors starred in Spectre (2015)
Another great aspect of Scott joining the cast of Wake Up Dead Man is that it will reunite him with Craig after they both starred in 2015's James Bond blockbuster Spectre. Scott played Max Denbigh, better known as C, in Spectre, a corrupt Director of the Joint Security Service who ends up being Bond's antagonist. Given that Scott is one of the first actors to be cast in Knives Out 3, and considering that he has a history of playing unsuspecting villains, it could very well be that his character in Wake Up Dead Man will turn out to be the one guilty of the anticipated murder.'

The fact that Gerard went “this stupid fucking nostalgia bait festival is bullshit, and half the people coming to see us HERE instead of our own shows don’t care who we are now and only want to dig up the shitty miserable corpse of what we were” and was RIGHT !!!!!
Half the crowd leaving after Black Parade would’ve been such a kick in the face if they were dressed & playing it genuine like a real MCR show. Instead it just proved their point
