Just watched Unbroken (2014) and I found it really interesting, especially "The Bird".

How he sensed strength in Louie and tried to break him. How he wanted to consider him a "friend", how he broke down when it was clear Louie wouldn’t break. How clear it was that The Bird respected him, saw him as a good, strong man, that he, himself, didn’t want to hurt. How that desire not to hurt turned into more tageted attacks, because he felt compelled to do his duty, compelled to dehumanize Louie in order to enact that duty.

The way it went from "look at me, show me your strength, I dare you, let me break you," to "don't look at me, please, don't give me another reason to respect you, don't give me another reason I would want to be your friend,"

And it really is hardbreaking.

How it’s based on a true story. That shot were Louie saw a picture of The Bird as a child, and realized that... The Bird used to be a child.

Just like him.

How he was a man.

Just like him.

And it just comes full-circle.

The despair The Bird felt when he mistreated someone who refused to let him forget that he was human.

The despair Louie felt when he realized the monster who had tried to break him was human.

So achingly similar.

How painful to look at a tormentor and see yourself.

How painful to look at someone you torment and see yourself.

And how heart-breaking that Louie wanted to forgive but The Bird refused to meet.

I just... I don’t know how to feel. My heart hurts, man.

Why do we go to war? Why do we mistreat people? How much of the dramatisazion is what happened? How much is Louie's interpretation of the event?

Did the Bird regret? Did he deny his sins, claiming to have acted on behalf of "the greater good"? What happened to the men Loui killed? Their family? Did Louie forgive himself too? Or did he only extend his forgiveness to the people who hurt him?

“Angel”: Also a reference to the poem (but like, worse because it was the angels that separated em) and can be easily pulled from Annabel’s name

“Petal”: Or some other variation of a flower based nickname because imma sad, sad bisexual who loves ✨flower motifs✨ just a bit too much

Anything in Dutch: This can be like common ones like “liefje” (darling) or the previous entries but in Dutch idk go crazy go stupid

“Locket”: An unconventional pick pulled from Annabel’s last name Whitlock + lockets containing pieces of hair from your other half being T H E romantic gesture of the century back then, so, like. Idk. Hear me out like okay I think Lenore could be the unconventional route (I mean girly already faked her death via arson and pulled a Mulan to get the girl soooo you see what I’m putting down?) and like like LIKKEEE⁉️⁉️⁉️ Imagine with me Lenore telling her girl, “You’re the locket I keep nearest to my heart” (many necklaces back then had a chain just long enough for the locket to rest above the wearer’s heart) and it evolves to Lenore calling Annabel smth like “my dearest, my locket” LIKE YOU HAVE TO IMAGINE WITH ME!!! The main details I'm figuring out right now are

does Celebrimbor still die at Eregion - I don't think he's getting captured/tortured, but he could still die in the battle. On the other hand, he could probably survive by using Narya & Lomion using Nenya, but that would definitely have repercussions further down the line

how does Idril's deal work - I'm currently thinking of Idril exchanging the location of Gondolin for her family's guaranteed safety, because it seems in character for Reverse Idril? But on the other hand, even if I limit it to immediate family at the time of the oath (tuor, turgon, earendil) then idk where turgon dies? Maybe Maglor can kill him but that seems kind of random

where and how does Turgon die

how does Prince Elrond's character even work

how does Numenor still fall when factoring in Prince Elrond - I'm thinking that the morgoth death cult gained enough traction during the time sauron was there that even after Elrond kicks him out, the cult still sticks around and reemerges later? The Fall still happens, but they never go to attack valinor and there's a good deal more Faithful (maybe 40-60%?)

But it irks me Every Time that she sneaks off to battle because Theoden and Eomer a) genuinely want to keep her from experiencing this Horror and b) maam you are third in line to the throne imagine if all three of you died.
